Hello, and welcome to the latest episode of the Points of Brew podcast with Stephen Carter and Aaron Getliffe. In this episode, the lads are joined by Social Media & Marketing Manager of Unbarred Brewery, Brett Preston. Brett joins Stephen & Aaron for a drink-along of sorts, as they both drink the latest releases from Unbarred; the Dank & Danker IPAs. Listen in as Brett discusses life at Unbarred Brewery and how he came to be there, and the story behind both beers which were drank on the show. And nearly 10 years on UnBarred Brewery of Brighton, with its team of 16, lives for one thing - that's to inspire discovery through boundless creativity.In this podcast, Jordan talks us through the early days at the brewery, the journey since and the role of the community at the business. In our 81st podcast, GRUB asked us to do a live podcast at their Winter Beer Fest. We got Unbarred Brewery, Runaway Brewery and Rivington Brewery involved and pitted them against each other during 3 rounds of questions, guesses, drama and blind tasting. Sophie from Runaway Brewery, Jordan from Unbarred Brewery and Jack from Rivington Brew Co. joined us on stage as we first asked them to discuss beer cliches then play Beerety Beer (our take on Blankety Blank). We then gave them 90 seconds to answer as many questions as they could on their own brewery. Round 3 was a blind tasting. We gave each one a wrapped up beer from their brewery, and they had to guess what beer it was just from aroma and taste. Jordan began as a home brewer a decade ago. In 2014 he launched Unbarred as a 100l nano brewery in his back garden, and began to win awards. Jordan went on to serve his apprenticeship, volunteering at local Sussex breweries, before joining up with Missing Link in 2017, brewing both for Unbarred as well as for other Contract breweries based there.
