Sinners, Reacher, Invincible and Severance. We are doing our best to keep ahead of all the amazing TV releases out there at the moment, and seemingly we're failing pretty miserably occasionally. So in an effort to make up ground, we are doing two TV roundups of what's hot on the box. This week is Reacher Season 3, Invincible Season 3 and the second huge season of Severance. But as we had to move the show to accomodate a screening, we have also included a special bonus review of the film we saw; Sinners - The new film from Ryan Coogler, starring Michael b Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld and many many more. Dion, Jill and Quinny are the ones getting square eyes this week, so we hope you appreciate the many hours they have spent in front of the TV (and movie screen) for you... Sinners Synopsis: Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. https://youtu.be/EQ-jtaIIjJk A huge thank you to all our Innies, Outies and Super hero man mountains who listen (perhaps) to each episode of the show, especially those of you Bootleggers who join in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!). If you haven't done so before join us next week for our live show 7:30pm Wednesday the 30th of April! Dion To me, severance is something I try to avoid, especially if my boss walks in and goes. I would like to discuss severance and I'm like please no. Quinny Hmm. Unless there's an extraordinarily good package to go along with that severance. Dion Yeah. Well, we just watched Milchak. That was quite a package that went along with severance, indeed. Praise Kier, it's a Severance Script Apart special! In the spoiler conversation you're about to hear, Dan Erickson – the dystopian workplace drama's creator and showrunner – spills all the secrets that Lumon Industries will allow, about the season two finale that aired last week, and our real-world relationships with work, corporations and personal pain that the show offers a meditation on.The series, starring Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Tuturro and Zach Cherry, debuted on Apple TV+ in 2022 at the exact right time: post-pandemic, a new Zoom-aided groundswell of people found themselves now “working from home” in a way that might be better described as “living at work.” Studies showed Brits and Americans were working longer than hours than ever and tethered to their desks in this round the clock way that made Severance's story – of characters trapped in an endless hellscape of never-ending work – hit in this deeply relatable way. All work and no play… you know the rest.It was a three year wait for season two, but the payoff was worth it. This latest batch of episodes delved deeper into the lives and psyches of Mark S, Helly R and their “Outies” – the versions of themselves who have no recollection of their job once they leave; it's like they're never there. And in doing so, new questions and philosophical dilemmas were thrown at us in the audience about personhood under capitalism, who deserves what rights and what constitutes a soul. Listen out for Dan's revelations about his drastically different original pilot for the show, and his breakdown of every twist and turn in this final episode including that ambiguous line of Helly's – “I'm her.” We also get into the hardship from Dan's life that he's glad he didn't sever from: a period of depression in which he learned there's “power in clawing your way out of a dark place.” It made him the writer he is today – the writer responsible for Severance.Script Apart is hosted by Al Horner and produced by Kamil Dymek. Severance and Skeleton Crew This week we are dipping our toes into a strange and disquieting corner of psychological sci-fi and then going on a child-friendly jaunt through inner and outer space! Most people don't see Severance as particularly child-friendly, but it's all in how you read it. And Skeleton Crew may not feel like a psychological exploration of the self, the Id, and reality through the lense of dystopian corporate misery... but that's only coz you're not digging deep enough! The "Innies" of Dion and Peter are teamed up with the Space Pirates of Quinny and Jill on this very confusing rollercoaster of confusion. Enjoy! Synopsis “Skeleton Crew” follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. https://youtu.be/VpLELtF8PUc A huge thank you to all our Innies, Outies and space pirates who listen (perhaps) to each episode of the show, especially those of you Outies who join in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!). For this week's episode, come sit round the kitchen table and listen to the Dynamic Duo's infamous story of the Meat Tray. An insightful tale from their college years, and a poignant moment in Kat & Harold's relationship that set the foundation of their differences. Kat, very much the ADHD extrovert, goes on to share her passion for Explentures: a creative mixture of Exploring & Adventure, which are essentially those days when she takes Harold out of the house for some fresh air. Harold, on the other hand and very much the introvert, shares his passion for not talking to other people. It's another spinning tale that ends up in a tailspin of hilarity and honesty. Enjoy!

There is good news on inflation in store for Americans. The Labor Department is expected to report that overall inflation fell to about 3% in June, the lowest in two years. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, core consumer price inflation is expected to drop to around 5%, an 18-month low, from 5.3%. Economists think core inflation could ebb further in coming months, to between 3.5% and 4%, depending on the price index. The bad news: Getting inflation down further from there, to the Federal Reserve's 2% target, will prove difficult if the economy keeps chugging along. That could force the Fed to keep monetary policy tight until the labor market weakens. In this episode of The Higher Standard, Chris and Saied examine this news and determine the effect it will have on the economy as a whole. They discuss a Labor Department report indicating that nonfarm payrolls increased 209,000 in June and the unemployment rate was 3.6%. That compared with the Dow Jones consensus estimates for growth of 240,000 and a jobless level of 3.6%.Chris and Saied look at comments from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, following the winning bid for First Republic, a lender to rich coastal families that had $229 billion in assets, who claimed that "This part of the crisis is over."They also offer some thoughts on Fitch analyst Chris Wolfe's assertion that half the country's banks will likely be swallowed by competitors in the next decade.Join Chris and Saied for this fascinating and informative conversation.Enjoy! What You'll Learn in this Show:Why the printing of trillions of dollars by the Fed in 2020-2022 led to a spike in inflation. Why over 40 million Americans will have to restart their student loan payments in the coming months. Why the inverted yield curve is such an important topic. LADYLIKE - Die Podcast-Show: Der Talk über Sex, Liebe & Erotik
What emerges is yet more exploration and discovery that can - if we choose - improve our own inner landscapes and then transform outer ones.

Stupid people complicate life.
As part of our "Season of You," accomplished author, former Assistant Director at the Obama White House, and psychologist, Dr. Monica Ramirez Basco, joins me for our second session on perfectionism. In her book, Never Good Enough, she describes inward- and outward-focused perfectionism (what she calls "Innies" and "Outies"), as well as many specific activities and tactics for using perfectionism to our advantage. We start by exploring this 2021 meta-analysis on the volume of studies on perfectionism, which has grown significantly since Dr. Basco's book was published (I mean, this was when Oprah was on the air!) We further discuss the impact of perfectionism on BIPOC and women, as well as some of Dr. Basco's top tips for addressing perfectionism in our lives. You can learn more about Verdant Consulting's offerings to help support your resiliency journey and build acceptance and compassion on our website. Thanks for stopping by!
Today's episode is all about your belly button aka navel aka umbilicus. And not just your belly button -- every single person you can think of has one. This means our listeners have LOTS of questions about them. We're going to tackle several of these fascinating navel-gazing questions like: is your belly button connected to your insides? Where does belly button fuzz come from? Why do some belly buttons stick out? And do cats and dogs have belly buttons? Plus, we have a tricky mystery sound for you to guess and a Moment of Um that answers the question: How do carrots grow if they don't have seeds? This episode was sponsored by: Indeed (indeed.com/brainson)
New information has come out in the continuing saga of Wi Spa in Los Angeles. It's information that is not being widely reported, but there have been some very interesting developments. We also take a look at a very similar incident in a Virginia high school that made national news for all the wrong reasons.
ABC podcast Innies + Outies brings you fascinating real stories from diverse LGBTQIA+ Australians about coming out or staying in.
Annie sees a little weasel running across the road and Jess enjoys her freedom and shares a little about a recent hookup. They dive into the topic of the week - fannies, aka vaginas. Fannies are like snowflakes, no two are the same, and that is what makes them beautiful. They talk about what their own fannies look like, and the one comment that led to getting a fanny trimmed. Society may make things like pigmentation or an extended labia seem weird or gross, but Annie and Jess feel very differently and have something to say about it. In This Episode You'll Hear About: Jess hooks up with a hot woman, and is also enjoying her freedom! The hang-overs get even tougher as you get older. Maybe 10 jagers is about 8 too many these days. Porn represents one type of vagina, but let's normalize that being different is okay. Jess and Annie discuss their fannies, what they love about them, and the weird comments others have made about them. Pigmentation, extended labia lips, and hair are normal, but society doesn't always act like they are. It's okay to do what makes you feel comfortable, even if that means changing the aesthetic of your labia / lips / clitoris. There is no standard when it comes to vaginas, and certainly no “better” or “worse”. If a man doesn't like your protruding labia, don't worry about it. He's probably not going to be a great lover anyway. Bonus: big clits are great for dry humps. Quote: “Maybe necking 10 jagers is not great for me.” “Why do you give a sh*t if you can see labia or not?” “I think camel toes are sexy.” Slide Into Our DM's: @talesofthenetherregions Annie - @annienorrispole | Jessica - @jessicadeebank Mentioned: The Vulva Gallery

After an unexpected hiatus, Brooke and Katie return to talk about, what else, but our vaginas! We unpack the Tik Tok-inspired phenomenon of innies and outies, life with a fat pu$$y, difficulties finding the clit, and experiences getting a pap smear. Katie also delivers the breaking news of a certain Diz Knee influencer DMing her once again, the saga of her online romance, and journaling to manifest a man. We talk about Katie's dream about Bernie Sanders, the pure excellence of Leslie Mann, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, the diabolical Lena Dunham. We also revel in the magic that is Miley Cyrus' "Midnight Sky," engage in local culture by listening to her Call Her Daddy interview, and discuss the dorks who gatekeep reading.

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe shows all of the ‘Outies’ that everything is indeed connected, as the boys review Cloud Atlas, with guests Adam Gentry and Alex Billington from Firstshowing.net. It is certainly a full review, as the gang really delves into the film, but word of warning, there are some big spoilers in this review. Plenty of time for the other regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Iron Man 3 and Evil Dead), “Movie Call Back”, “Out Now Quickies”, Box Office Talk, and of course Games. It is a full episode, complete with everyone playing multiple roles, so feel free to find all the connections you can. So now, if you’ve got an hour to kill…
