A show about great video games and excellent beer. Every week we celebrate and moan about video games and what we've been playing whilst drinking and discussing several choice craft beers. Brought to you by outoflives.net
It’s been a minute since we last recorded, so of course, the episode starts off on non-beer, non-gaming chat. Ben kicks off gaming chat with his thoughts on Revenge of the Savage Planet. Lucy’s been gaming with her nephew, or gaming for him in Animal Crossing. We end on Blue Prince, having a pretty in-depth discussion which turns to politics. Ben drinks a Beak X Floc collab called Threads 4, then follows it up with Soft Disco Leisure Reception from Verdant. Lucy has Run Free from Left Handed Giant, and Aadil brings a big boy, drinking Vault City’s Crunch. Renaissance PR provided the Revenge of the Savage Planet code for review and our continued discussion. Originally recorded on the 23rd […]

He starts with Cities Skylines 2, then takes a leap of faith and talks Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and the early hours of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Aadil drinks Vault City’s Peach & Ginger Lychee Lemongrass Coconut Session Sour, and Ben knocks back Deya’s The Walls Leaned Away. Originally recorded on 4th of April 2025. Steam Next Fests seem to come and go with the wind but this time Lucyt managed to catch a few more demos. She discusses Castle V Castle, and Shotgun Cop Man. Ben catches Lucy up and has put some time into Avowed, leading to a big discussion on the divisiveness of RPGs, and has also started Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Only Aadil and Ben drink this week sinking Snow Wassett from Tartarus, and a Deya X Beak collab called Driving That Train. Originally recorded on the 6th of March 2025.
We might end on a political note but there’s plenty of gaming and beer chat to get to first. As the only one who has played games this week, Lucy gives her initial impressions of Avowed, talks Glyphica, and then talks through a few demos like The Electrifying Incident, and Is This Seat Taken? Ben and Aadil want to talk a little news with the conversation leading to Shuhei Yoshida’s recent interviews, Cloud in Magic The Gathering, and the prospect of more Tony Hawk. A packed episode, full of news and games. The team starts with the news that Ubisoft is at it again, locking already developed content behind an array of editions and purchase dates. Aadil has Happy Hour from Wiper and True, and Chelt Vegas from Deya. Ben has two beers from Baron’s porridge series, drinking Mummy Bear and Daddy Bear.
It’s news galore on this week’s episode, but none of it is good. The team talk about the awful news that Roll 7 and Intercept Games have been shuttered, among a reshuffle of Private Division by Take Two Interactive. This spirals into chat on capitalism, podcatcher closures, and big shiny Cybertrucks. Aadil then delivers some of the more absurd headlines of that week. The beers are, Birdie from Copperbeach Brewing Co, Atom Beers returns with Neutron Star, and and Ice Cream Sour from Yonder.
The full team is back this week to chat about Nintendo’s continued battle with the internet. Ben and Lucy review Botany Manor, and Lucy gives her thoughts on Sophia the Traveler. The whole crew is present, but in an inversion Aadil has played most of the games. We start with a discussion about the Kotaku resignation, prompted by managements push away from news and opinions towards 50 game guides a week. Aadil and Lucy talk a bunch about Balatro while Ben waits patiently in the wings. Aadil continues on to talk about a game Lucy brought to his attention a few episodes back Slice and Dice. And then the episode is rounded out with the back of the box quiz from Lucy. Lucy had the Sundrips Honey DIPA from Deya. Ben had the KaleiDIPA from Wiper and True, and Aadil had the more smoothie than beer Azvex’s Mana Smoothie Sour.
