Lonnie Klein is the esteemed Maestro of the Las Cruces New Mexico Symphony. In addition to an extensive regular concert season with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra [New Mexico} Lonnie Klein has guest conducted regularly with orchestras in Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Colombia (South America), Spain, as well as with orchestras in the United States. In the summer of 2017, Lonnie conducted master classes and coached chamber music at the Conservatori Superior de Musica (Spain). In July of 2017 Lonnie conducted a special collaborative concert of opera, ballet and arias with Natalie Bancroft, Beatrice Villiger and dancers from the San Diego and Virginia ballet at the Spencer Theatre in Alto, NM.

Kenton Keith is a former American career diplomat and ambassador to Qatar from 1992 to 1995. A U.S. Navy veteran, Keith also served as Senior Vice president of programming for the American Academy of Diplomacy. Ambassador Keith has been awarded two presidential service awards and is a Chevalier in the French Order of Arts and Letters from 1992 to 1995.

During the 1970s, Muriel Morisey played an integral role in two congressional offices. In 1971, she began her career in Washington, DC, as a constituent caseworker and press secretary for Walter Fauntroy, the first African-American Delegate from the District of Columbia. By 1975, she was the senior legislative assistant for Representative Shirley Chisholm of New York, the first African-American Congresswoman.

Kathleen Sebelius is an American businesswoman and politician who served as the 21st United States Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2009 until 2014. Previously, she was the 44th Governor of Kansas from 2003 to 2009, the second woman to hold that office. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
Ben Ray Luján is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district since 2009 and as the Assistant House Speaker since 2019.
Xochitl Liana Torres Small is an American lawyer and politician from the state of New Mexico, serving as the U.S. Representative for New Mexico’s 2nd congressional district.
Jeh Charles Johnson is an American lawyer and former government official who served as the fourth United States Secretary of Homeland Security from 2013 to 2017. He previously was the General Counsel of the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2012 during the first years of the Obama Administration.

His last assignment, from October 1, 1989, to September 30, 1993, was as the 12th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest military position in the Department of Defense. During this time, he oversaw 28 crises, including Operation Desert Storm in the 1991 Persian Gulf War. He also formulated the Powell Doctrine. Following his military retirement, Powell wrote his best-selling autobiography, My American Journey. In addition, he pursued a career as a public speaker, addressing audiences across the country and abroad. Prior to his appointment as Secretary of State, Powell was the chairman of America’s Promise-The Alliance for Youth, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of young people. He was nominated by President Bush on December 16, 2000, as Secretary of State. After being unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he was sworn in as the 65th Secretary of State on January 20, 2001.

He is a member of the Democratic Party and currently a Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and the Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Prior to his congressional career, Warner was the 69th Governor of Virginia holding the office from 2002 to 2006 and is the honorary chairman of the Forward Together PAC. Warner delivered the keynote address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Apart from politics, Warner is also known for his involvement in telecommunications-related venture capital during the 1980s; he founded the firm Columbia Capital. In 2006, he was widely expected to pursue the Democratic nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election; however, he announced in October 2006 that he would not run, citing a desire not to disrupt his family life. Warner was considered to be a potential vice presidential candidate until he took himself out of consideration after winning the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. Senator Warner is a good friend and I am excited to have a very informative and fun conversation with him on this episode of “Fly On The Wall”
