In this episode, I discuss a major lesson and reminder that has been gained throughout the decades of living with a Traumatic Brain Injury and that is - memory loss is not intelligence loss! This is especially a helpful reminder to anyone who supports young adults, teens and children with any adversity related to the brain. Teachers, coaches, therapists, support professionals and truly, all of us - may this episode serve as a gentle reminder for each of us on the power of labels in our lives. Also my next episode is going to be Q&A format - some of you have contacted me with great questions that I will be answering - and I am looking for more! In this episode, I discuss the difference between post-secondary education and undergrad education from the perspective of a TBI survivor. In addition, I chat about the lessons acquired in these years and the growth I experienced throughout this important time in my life. These years for all of us are also important years of exploring our passions and strengths on the journey, in addition to the independent living that comes with this chapter and how this all aligns with a career while living with an adversity. As we know, with death comes grief. But as I learned throughout my personal journey, there is also a grieving process in the journey of loss in different ways and an energy of death at times, even if there isn't a death. For myself personally, I had to grieve the loss of my old self and life, along with the death of friendships, dreams, and identities, just to name a few. Join me in this episode as I discuss my perspective through the process of having to bury my old self and life and my journey through the stages of grief. If you have a topic or question you want her to cover, e-mail Jennifer at: Jennifer@LivingWellEnergyHealing.com If interested in any of the services Jennifer offers, visit: www.LivingWellEnergyHealing.com Or find on Facebook: Living Well Energy Healing & Oily MomsSupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)
In this episode, I share the life detour that seemed like a brick wall in my life at the point I was at, but ended up being one of the biggest blessings that opened a door to an entirely different chapter in my life. Even if you feel like you are stalled or stuck and getting nowhere on your journey, I hope this serves as a reminder that detours can also provide us a purpose eventually and sometimes even a hidden blessing. Here is my story of what happened in my “meantime” chapter and the powerful gift of Divine Timing that blessed my own life. May it provide you some hope and a little belief in the magic of your own journey through life. I sit down and chat with my brothers in this episode about the day and year our lives forever changed in 1995. This experience not only happened to me, it happened to them as well and impacted them and the rest of their lives in it’s own way. They actually have more memory of the experience than I do since I have the damage to my brain that caused the memory loss. This chat was very meaningful to me and healing on many levels – before this, we never really sat down and processed this chapter together, especially as adults. If you or someone you know is a sibling to someone who endured a trauma of any kind – this chat is very insightful and helpful to hear the perspective of sibling, especially as children. My wish is that we provide hope and insight from this chat. Special thanks to my brothers for their vulnerability and open-ness with me in this conversation. I am grateful for their roles in my life and the support they have always given me since day one, but especially as adults, I have a deeper appreciation today of what they endured as children through my story. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices they made and the grace and love they gave me and continue to give me. To any one out there who is in the sibling role of anyone who has experienced a life adversity, especially as a child or teen, this episode is for you - please know you are honored and validated for your own courage and strength through the journey. Be blessed. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)

No one walks the path alone or overcomes the adversities without support from special people in our lives who we have to thank for being the “parachute packers,” so to speak. The ones who we have to thank for supporting us in reaching our goals and dreams, especially when the world wants us to believe that we can’t and won’t. In this episode, I highlight who I feel were my top Parachute Packers in the decade that followed my TBI diagnosis and cancer diagnosis. The special people who believed in me when I needed it most and gifted me in ways they might not have even known and in ways I didn’t fully come to appreciate until later in life. Grateful I can honor them in this way today. Whether you have had a parachute packer or have been a parachute packer to someone, I hope you are reminded by this episode how important this role is in life, in all ways! And to my Parachute Packers – THANK YOU! This episode is for you. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)
Join me as I reflect today on what I believe were the biggest hurdles I faced as a direct result of a TBI, Cancer Diagnosis and Leg Surgery in a matter of 3 years between the ages of 14 and 16. After 25 years, time and perspective have gifted me with a new appreciation for the hurdles and lessons that came with it. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)
My Journey brought with it an introduction of two very different worlds in a short span of time and at a rather young age: both the Traumatic Brain Injury world and the Cancer world. They both taught me and blessed me with very different lessons and opportunities. In this episode, I reflect on the insight, lessons and gifts gained regarding those two different paths that were walked. Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)

In the previous episode, you heard my Dad's story and letter written to me sharing the story of the day I died and my life changing forever. In this episode, I share the story, but this time from my perspective. What I recall from my Near-Death-Experience, the lessons that came from it and that continue to teach me throughout this Journey on the topics of both Life and Death. This is me reading the Letter my Dad wrote to me and gave to me on the One Year Anniversary of my Near-Death-Experience. My Dad wrote this for me because he knew I wouldn't have memory of it - as there is a period of my life, about two years, that is pretty much non-existent in my memory. It is also the prelude in my Memoir, Crawl Walk Run, that was written in 2008.Thank you, Dad, for starting this chapter of Healing for me. You encouraged me to continue with my Story as it would evolve in the years and told me I would have a different perspective at various times in life, including at age 38, the age you were when you wrote it. Here I am today, 38 myself and ready to share this part of my story in this format. Healing for me..... Thank you listeners for being part of my Healing Journey by sharing in this with me. May it inspire you to never stop Believing in the Power within yourself and the Will of the Human Spirit... Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/my/profile)
