When Vinney Tolman was 25 years old he took a supplement that got into his lungs and killed him in the bathroom of a Dairy Queen. The paramedics could not revive him. They pronounced him dead, filled out the paperwork, put him in a body bag, and zipped it up. Then a rookie medic on the crew broke protocol and got his heart started again. From the moment of pronounced death to the moment his heart came back was 47 minutes. He was brain dead for the next three days. Ishtar Howell has been having out-of-body experiences and communications with deceased relatives since childhood. Raised in an agnostic, scientifically-oriented family, he experienced high strangeness that defied conventional explanation. Damien Echols was sentenced to death at 18 for the 1993 murders of three 8-year-old boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. After nearly 18 years on death row, Damien was released – because the entire time, no physical or DNA evidence ever linked him to the crime. In 1993, the media called Damien and his friends “The West Memphis Three.” Prosecutors built the case on his interest in occult magick – a major topic during the Satanic Panic – and a confession from co-defendant Jessie Misskelley Jr. that was later recanted.
