Even though the people said they chose God’s blessings, the choices they made in their lives indicated that they preferred the curse. The curse of sin brings pain, tragedy and countless difficulties into the lives of every living creature on this planet. Fortunately, Jesus removed the sting of the curse from us by redeeming us on the cross. We live in a society that teaches us to take everything we can get, but Jesus teaches it is a greater blessing to give than to receive! Often, by the decisions we make, we choose the curse rather than the blessing because the things God considers a blessing are counterintuitive.
