A new exhibit at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, "Continuous Lines: Selections from the Joe Feddersen Collection," explores the personal collection of one of the region's most influential living artists. Rachel Allen, a Fellow in the Mellon Curatorial Program in Art History at the University of Delaware and curator of the exhibit, visits the studio to talk about the curatorial process and the significance of exhibiting contemporary American Indian artists in this way. What better way to talk about the new Spokane Valley Performing Arts Center (SVPAC) than by sharing some of the music that inspired it? Executive Artistic Director Yvonne A. K. The opera has only three principle singing roles and an ensemble choir of eight voices and six dancers. Wes Jessup, Executive Director of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) shares highlights of the new fall exhibitions including the headliner, Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection, which opens to the general public on Sunday, October 3. Wes says it is the best private collection of work by the most innovative artist of the 19th century and includes everyday objects -- furniture, vases, lamps -- transformed into works of art through bold colors, beautiful designs and forms.
