Jesus is the Promised King, who is all glorious yet humbly came to save sinful people like us. Hosanna in the highest!
Through embracing the ways of the world God's Old Testament people found themselves in deep darkness. But God in His mercy bursts His blazing light on the scene in the Messiah Jesus.
Jesus warns that seeking riches can take our attention away from building a reconciled relationship with God God's kingdom is here! Our response should be to repent and reconcile with other people and with God. Our time on earth is limited; if we don't act quickly, we'll face hardships on earth and eternal separation from God.
In this final section of his first letter, John focuses on assurance of salvation. His goal is to provide believers with a means to know, for sure, that they have eternal life. Those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ can be absolutely sure that they are saved. Despite our occasional doubts, God has given us everything we need to know we have eternal life.
The second generation of humanity does not start well. This is the account of a man killing his brother. This Sunday, come and see what this has to do with Jesus and what it has to do with you and I.

A sermon on 2 Chronicles 26; Isaiah 6:1-7 from Jared Venter.
We often think of Shepherds at Christmas time - the ones watching their flocks by night to whom the angel appeared. But have you ever thought about the Shepherd in the manger? He's come to rescue the lost sheep and bring us home.
The Lord's Supper is meant to assure us that the body of our Lord Jesus Christ was once and for all delivered up for us, so that it now and forever will be ours; and also, that his blood was once and for all shed for us, so that it is and always will be ours. In the Lord's Supper, we look back at what Christ did on the cross, look presently at our union with Him, and look to the future marriage supper of the Lamb.
The LORD Himself comes down upon Mount Sinai in glory and holiness.
The most incredible thing we will ever see will be when we see Jesus face to face. When He appears we shall see Him as He is and it will utterly change us. Having our eyes fixed on that moment in the future, changes us and hoping for that day purifies us.
Today's passage focuses on the LORD and His amazing work of delivering His people and how He rightly deserves all the glory for that. See how Jethro responds to this news and what that means for us in light of Jesus.
A sermon on 1 John 2:15-27 from Donovan Morling.

Jared is taking us back to Exodus this week where we will see a cycle of Israel's swift, faithless grumbling and disobedience and the Lord's patient forbearance and faithful provision and how this relates to us today.
Join us as we explore why we can't live without love, what love is all about and how long love will be around for. (Hint - 1 Cor 13:8!)
The unfinished work in the world is accomplished by the Father, Jesus, and us - their people - being in unison. Embrace the oneness we have with our God.
Christ is the only way to salvation. In this passage we see how Jesus became the single sacrifice for our sins so that we may be perfected for all time. We can therefore “draw near [to God] with a true heart in full assurance of faith...” (Heb 10:22)
How does God reveal Himself to us? Where can we learn what God is like? Today in Psalm 19, we learn that God reveals Himself to us in the skies (vv1-6), the Scriptures (vv7-11), and climatically in His own Son (vv12-14). Praise the Lord for His clear speech to us!
Without God, there is no hope. But in Christ Jesus there is a living hope for all who believe. Hold fast to Christ knowing He is holding us.
In view of the Gospel of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, we as believers are called to live by the Spirit as a loving Christian community. See what that looks like for us here at HWC.
Our Lord deals with the strife in our world in astonishing ways. The ray of hope for us all is the certainty that: (1) He deals with injustice; and (2) the righteous by faith shall live.
When Jesus heard the Pharisees and Scribes grumbling about him eating with sinners, he told them three parables, about the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost child.

God preached the massive news of salvation in Jesus in advance to Abraham that all nations would be blessed through him. The fulfilment of that is seen in Jesus, the Christ, the Son of Abraham, who was cursed for us that we might be blessed in Him.
The Galatians were foolishly trying, in their own strength, to finish the work God started in them by works of the law. They and we must rather rely on God's strength working in us by His Spirit and live by faith in Him every step of the way.
Though kingdoms come and go, our God reigns forever so trust and live faithfully to Him who is risen.
We can't justify ourselves; Christ died so that we can be right in God' sight. Don't trust in yourself, trust in Jesus!
