Big idea: Through His intercessor, God reveals His glory as he renews His covenant with His idolatrous people. 1. The Idolatry of God's people and their need for an Intercessor (ch.32) 2. The commission to Canaan and a repentant people (33:1-16) 3. The Glory of God and His Covenant renewal (33:17-34:35) Discussion Questions: 1. What does the golden calf incident teach us about the nature of idolatry, and how do we see similar patterns of idolatry in our own lives today? 2. Why do you think God took idolatry so seriously in Exodus 32? How does this reflect His justice and mercy, and how should that shape our understanding of God today? 3. Moses interceded for the people despite their rebellion. How does this point us to Jesus as our ultimate intercessor, and how does His intercession impact our relationship with God? 4. Moses pleaded for God's presence to go with Israel (Exodus 33:15). What does this reveal about Moses' understanding of God's presence, and how should it shape our dependence on God in our daily lives? 5. When Moses asked to see God's glory (Exodus 33:18), God revealed His character instead. What does this teach us about God's glory, and how does beholding His glory transform us as believers (2 Corinthians 3:18)?
Psalm 50 is a Psalm of Asaph, who was the recorder (or secretary) at the time of David's kingship over all Israel. He rejoices in the fact that God Himself is the Judge. See the reverence for the Almighty Asaph has in the use of many titles for his Sovereign in verse 1. The earth is commanded to listen to God, who shines forth from the glory of His future sanctuary in Zion (the blessed Jerusalem of the Kingdom Age). The LORD will come with a terrifying vengeance. The heavens and the earth are His witnesses. His faithful saints will be there assisting in the establishing of God's authority. By accepting His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through belief of the Truth and baptism; they have become His Covenant people. He judges His people in an incontestable way, since He is God. He doesn't need either their sacrifices, or offerings, since every living creature belongs to the Creator. He doesn't negotiate with lowly humans. There is absolutely nothing that we can give Him to atone for our sins. But, there is something that we can give to Him – full hearted thanksgiving. One writer, I Collier, in a poem in his book “Conviction and Conduct” wrote, “Give God Thy heart, tis all that He doth ask”. Those who humbly submit to Him will be delivered out of their troubles. By contrast He scorns the wicked by telling them that it will be useless to hypothetically call upon Him. He has not judged them yet; but will surely do so soon. The psalm concludes in verse 23. Slowly read these words aloud and contemplate what they are teaching. Romans 3 turns attention to the Jewish people who were agreeing with every word Paul had uttered of the depravity among the Gentiles. They, too, were without excuse as they had the Word of God in their midst and yet were just as corrupt. From verses 9-20 Paul advances seven Scriptures supporting this. Then from verses 21-31 he proves that there is only one righteousness, and that on the basis of belief. What is required is a submission to the only way of declaring us to be right with God. This includes a confession that human beings are rightly related to death as we are incurably sinful. Additionally we confess that our Potentate only is righteous and strengthened His Son to accomplish what was humanly impossible. On the basis of the acceptance of these truths and our identification with the Lord Jesus Christ in whom they have been outworked forgiveness of sins is provided.Chapter 4 illustrates that through the lives of David and Abraham there is absolutely nothing we can do to be saved by works ie our own merits. God's condition for forgiveness involves our acceptance of this truth and confession of our failures if we are to receive the blessings of forgiveness and to be inheritors of the promised Kingdom that will be, as verse 13 indicated, international. What is recorded was not for the sakes of those in the recorded Scriptures, but indeed for our sakes. Penned by Warwick Rosser and his team, produced by Christadelphianvideo.org
Genesis 46 tells of the arrival Jacob's family's in Egypt and gives their names and number – 66 persons who came from Israel's procreation. Together with Israel and his 3 of his 4 wives 70 people in all came into Egypt. The chapter concludes with Israel and Joseph being joyfully reunited. Chapter 47 tells of their presentation to Pharaoh – in particular Israel's words of blessing upon Pharaoh. Pharaoh invites them to settle in Goshen and supervise his own livestock herds. Israel told Pharaoh that his family have been sojourners. Pharaoh responded in generously allocating land in Goshen – the territory of his favoured priests. Verses 13-26 describe Joseph's wise dealings with the Egyptians during the last 5 years of the famine. By his just actions he acquired most of the land and labour in Egypt, except for the priestly lands. Verses 27-31 tell of Israel's family settling in Egypt and Jacob's (Israel's) death aged 147 years. Before his death Israel gave charge faithfully to Joseph that upon dying Israel would be buried in the Promised Land (verse 31 compare Hebrews 11 verses 21-22). One reason that the Genesis record devotes so many chapters to the life of Joseph, Saviour of his brethren and the world, is to help us appreciate the work of reconciliation that our Lord will consummate with his brethren, the Jews. Christ will “speak comfortably” to his people: Hosea 2:14. The emotions of our Lord and his people in the future are beautifully depicted in the scene of reconciliation portrayed in these chapters in Genesis. Pastor Folarin Akinsola ministers on the wonderful topic "Give Thanks to God for His Covenant" Listen and be Blessed in Jesus name.
Once Upon a Time | GENESIS 6:5-8:18 | Week 2 God's judgment is coming. It will bring about something the world has never seen. His provision to save must be entered into before it's too late. That's how it was in the days of Noah. Jesus is the boat that saves from God's just judgment all who enter His Covenant of Grace by faith.
After his initial prayer (v1-7), he moves into a meditation on God's attributes & acts, to fuel his prayers (v8-10): “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore, He teaches sinners in the WAY (of holiness)” (v8). In His goodness, He works to save us all from destruction, but only the humble receive His instruction, for they know their need of guidance and are willing to submit to God's will. The proud go their own way, thinking they don't need God. “The HUMBLE He guides in justice (righteousness), and the humble He teaches His WAY” (v9). The key to guidance is humility, asking God to show us His way. “All the PATHS of the Lord are MERCY and TRUTH (faithfulness), to such as keep (are loyal to) His covenant and His testimonies” (v10). We're in a covenant grace relationship with God, but to enjoy His presence & blessing, we must be loyal to God and keep His Covenant, walking in love & truth. If we don't, we can't have His Presence. Based on this meditation, he makes this PRAYER: “For Your NAME's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great” (v11). God's Name is His revealed character (v8-10). He asks God to pardon his great iniquity according to His Name (His faithfulness to forgive those who repent). Also, He pardons us for His Name's sake, for His glory, as He is glorified by our salvation. As Absalom's rebellion brought his past sins back to mind, he had to deal with condemning thoughts, so makes sure he has fully repented and received full forgiveness. Then he meditates on the BENEFITS of the FEAR of the Lord (v12-14): “Who is the man that FEARS the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses” (v12). The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge & wisdom (Prov 1:7, 9:10). “He himself shall dwell in prosperity (lit: goodness), and his descendants shall inherit the earth (possess the land)” (v13). “The SECRET (or friendship) of the Lord is with those who FEAR Him, and He will SHOW (reveal & manifest to) them His covenant.” Fearing God brings us into His intimate circle, to whom He shares His secrets, as with Abraham (2Chr 20:7, Isa 41:8, Jas 2:23). The closer we come to Him, the more He reveals & manifests Himself to us. We can't comprehend spiritual things apart from the Spirit; we need His Presence in our soul to perceive & receive spiritual things (1Cor 2:12-15). Without Him we're like a blind & deaf man. To explain His secrets to those without the Spirit is like describing colours to a blind man. It's by submission to (fear of) God we receive the Spirit into our soul (Is 11:2,3). Thus, it is the beginning of wisdom & knowledge. This meditation (v12-14) built his faith, resulting in a DECLARATION of FAITH: “My eyes are ever toward the Lord (looking to God in expectation), for He shall pluck (lit: bring out) my feet out of the net” (v15). As David speaks, his enemies have already set a net for him, for Absalom's armies were closing in on him, but he trusts God for victory. His final PRAYER (v16-22): “TURN Yourself to me, and have MERCY on me” (v16a). He says: "I am looking to You (v15), please look at me and smile on me, and release Your radiant Presence on me, flood me with your grace." “for I am desolate (lonely) and afflicted” (v16b). He reminds God how much he needs Him for most Israel had turned against him. “The troubles of my heart have enlarged; bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins” (v17-18). Again, he admits his sins are behind many of his problems, so asks for mercy to overcome the effects and forgiveness for any unknown sins. “Consider my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel (violent) hatred. Keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You” (v19-20, cf. v2). “Let integrity and uprightness preserve me (this is his own integrity) for I wait for You” (v21, cf. v1). He knew his need to walk before God with integrity (a whole heart), to stay in His Presence to be protected & delivered. He knows it's God's Presence that preserves Him, but we need to walk with God to abide under His Presence. He's not trusting in his own integrity (“for I wait for You”), but in God. The acrostic ends at v21, then in v22 his prayer expands to Israel as a whole. It was not just the future of David on the line, but all God's people: “REDEEM (ransom) Israel, O God, out of all their troubles!” (v22). He understood all blessings for which he'd prayed, are only available on the basis of the payment of a price. This is a prayer for the coming of the Redeemer, who would redeem Israel & all God's people by His Blood. Christ alone can bring the full forgiveness & restoration desired in this prayer by His (1) Blood (1st Coming) and (2) Power (2nd Coming). He prayed Ps 25 in his time of trouble and God answered him, but v22 expands it to all of Israel's troubles, including her final & full restoration, so we can also pray it with confidence.

The Lord graciously initiates salvation by establishing and fulfilling His Covenant to make sinners holy and empower them with His presence to perfect His plan for creation.
Does God have a permanent Covenant with His people, Abraham's physical descendants? Sadly, too many Christian pastors, academicians, and followers of Jesus think not. However, God is clear that His Covenant with Abraham will remain in effect until His plan has been completed. Dr. Jay and Amazing Larry unpack the Scriptures and why this question is so crucial to the world.Frothy Thoughts with the Truth BaristaVisit HighBeam Ministry, The Truth BaristaCheck out the Frothy Thoughts Blog!Check out The Truth Barista Books!Check out The Truth Barista YouTube Channel!

Moving forward from last week, Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us into Romans chapters 11 and 12, then to Ephesians chapter 2, where he interprets the writing of the apostle Paul quite a bit differently than most of us have ever heard taught before. Because of this, Rabbi Steve clarifies further his position on the understanding of “grace” or favor, specifically whether it is merited or unmerited. Could it be both? In this message we see the beauty of the kindness and faithfulness of our Creator as He offers the opportunity to enter into His Covenant even though we have done nothing up to that point to deserve it. Questions: • Romans 10:17 talks of “hearing by the Word of God”, is there an underlying message that is lost in the translation? • What exactly is the “Good News”? • What is the “disease” we see in the Bible from start to finish? • All people before Acts 2 could not be “righteous” because they didn't have the Holy Spirit? • Can you empty yourself? Jesus Was Not God and In the Old Testament Prior To His Birth and Exaltation To The Godhead After His Death On The Cross! Deut 18:15-19! My 8 Books: Amazon.com/Richard-A-Hardin/e/B09J2YHCVBEmail: rhardin77@yahoo.com rahardin.com -Bio, 18 Videos, Podcasts***** I will discuss mercy, then the relationship of mercy and truth in the Old Testament (OT) which shows that Jesus did not live or serve in the OT, except for the days He walked on Earth. Jesus became exalted to the fullness of Godhead, Trinity, after His death and then He became the third part of the Trinity after His resurrection. I will show from Scripture there was no grace in the OT: Grace and Truth came by Jesus. God and His Spoken Word, Christ, was the full expression of the Godhead in the OT, look at Psalms 25:10, "ALL the paths of the Lord are Mercy and Truth unto such as keep His Covenant and His Testimonies." and Isaiah 59:21, "As for Me, this is My Covenant with them, saith the Lord; My Spirit (Mercy) that is upon thee, and My Words(Truth) which I have put in thy mouth,..". When Jesus was exalted to the fullness of the Godhead, the Trinity of God came into existence: God the Father, Jesus the Son and Their Living Words, Christ! This is very different than what is being presently taught as the "Christian World View." Jesus, the man, died on the cross for our sin sacrifice because the Spirit of Christ left Him when He cried out, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me? Jesus the man then died and paid the sin sacrifice for us! That is why God was so pleased with the man Jesus and exalted Him through just being our mediator, to being fully God in the fullness of the Godhead! on @KLRNRadio.com 6AM CST Sun #GPWF #Christian & on rahardin.com anytime speak to Alexa say, "Play God's Pure Word of Faith."

Summary: In our passage God opens up and invites us into the Temple and Throne of God in heaven. In this invite God will show us the “Ark of the Covenant”. It is His “Covenant” with man, with you. What does His covenant say to us presently and yet future. What does the Ark of the Covenant speak to us about His mercy and grace? In our study we will let God “reveal” the depth of these things, and we will see His Glory from heaven unto us.

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a two-part look at the second parsha in the Book of Exodus, Vayeira (Ex. 6:2 - 9:35), where we begin to see what YHVH means by His repeatd demonstration that "Ani YHVH". This part of the story includes the first of the 'Ten Plagues,' and certainly makes clear that He is Keeper of His Covenant. The Erev Shabbat reading includes two what Mark argues is the exposition of the single most important point in the story, that, while His Name, YHVH, IS in fact, included in the Book of Genesis, "by My Name YHVH," He says, "I did not make Myself KNOWN to them." So what does that mean? https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/SSM-1-12-24-Vayeira-teaching-podcast-xx.mp3 Which is exactly what the Sabbath day midrash explores. And it is one of the most fundamental understandings in Scripture, and in history. And certainly in prophecy. Because He says so. "Vayeira: Why is His Name SO Important?" And when it comes to prophecy, and where we are, and what is to come, recognize that "I AM" more inclusive than we may realize. Think about "I WILL BE What I AM!" https://hebrewnationonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/WT-CooH-1-12-24-Vayeira-YHVH-I-Will-Be-What-I-AM-why-His-Name-DOES-matter-edited-xxxx.mp3 The combined two-part teaching is here:

God and His Spoken Word, Christ, was the full expression of the Godhead in the OT, look at Psalms 25:10, "ALL the paths of the Lord are Mercy and Truth unto such as keep His Covenant and His Testimonies." and Isaiah 59:21, "As for Me, this is My Covenant with them, saith the Lord; My Spirit (Mercy) that is upon thee, and My Words(Truth) which I have put in thy mouth,..". When Jesus was exalted to the fullness of the Godhead, the Trinity of God came into existence: God the Father, Jesus the Son and their Living Word, Chris!. That is why God was so pleased with the man Jesus and exalted Him through just being our mediator, to being fully God in the fullness of the Godhead! on @KLRNRadio.com 6AM CST Sat #GPWF #Christian & on rahardin.com anytime speak to Alexa say, "Play God's Pure Word of Faith.
Romans 11 “I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? Far from it! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew.” Romans 11:1-2a NASB “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant, to… Read More »Our Roots and His Covenant
Is sin and transgressing the Covenant two different things or the same? What is the definition of sin? What does Joshua 7:9 show us in regards to what Elohim thinks about sin and His Covenant. What is it that the “World” will not allow you to do? Rabbi Steve Berkson then moves us to Joshua chapter 23 to continue with the thought, “The Role and Effect of Leadership on Covenant Keeping.” When a group needs direction to go forward, who is it that receives the vision for direction? What happens when there's more than one vision within a group? Why did Joshua have to remind the people that they were in covenant with their Creator? How does being “unequally yoked” (2 Cori 6:14) affect your Covenant keeping? From the book of Joshua we move to the next book, Judges, to see that Israel still doesn't have it in their heart, to love Elohim, to abide by the Covenant with Him and is told that they will be tested by the nations that they did not remove. How were they tested? Another excellent teaching by Rabbi Steve as he brings us deeper into the understanding of Covenant-keeping. Are you covenanted? Take advantage of new teachings every week. In this episode, Caleb is joined by Pascal Denault (ThM, Acadia University) pastor of Reformed Baptist Church of Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Canada and author of The Distinctiveness of Baptist Covenant Theology to discuss the covenant of grace from the reformed Baptist perspective. Together they address such questions as: What is the covenant of grace? How does it relate to the other theological covenants (covenant of redemption and covenant of works)? How does it relate to the historical covenants? How does it relate to the salvation of God's people and why is important for the life of the church? And more.
