Episode 12: Shannon Kenitz, Executive Director of the IHA | Grace is Her Superpower On this episode of Into The Light with Cray Cait, I welcome a force to be reckoned with, a literal superwoman behind all things hyperbaric oxygen, and an amazing advocate for Edna and I and our clinic. It's Shannon freakin' Kenitz, Executive Director of the International Hyperbaric Association (IHA).  We are her first stop on a nationwide tour of Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinics to raise awareness for this incredible therapy and to help people take control of their own health.  The IHA is a non-profit that promotes the use of hyperbaric oxygen for off label indications, focusing on conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, stroke, and Parkinson's disease. The IHA supports many different types practitioners and clinics in order to help make Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) more accessible to everyone. They also fund research and treatments for families that can't afford HBOT.     Shannon's Story Shannon's HBOT journey started when her daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with a very rare mitochondrial disease, and her doctors told Shannon to let her daughter go. But Shannon didn't give up. She knew that she had to do everything she possibly could before she would let Grace go. So she traveled from Wisconsin to Florida to start her daughter on HBOT.  Although Grace was not expected to live past the age of 2, she just turned 22 this March. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy saved Grace's life, it gave Shannon her family back, and ultimately led her to taking over the IHA.  There are so many more stories just like Grace's and the experience had led Shannon on a mission of educating the world on the benefits of HBOT and helping people understand that they can, and need to be, advocates for their own health.  HBOT can help with a wide variety of neurological conditions, mental health conditions, addiction, GI issues, anti-aging, sports injuries, and so much more. Shannon has heard from too many families who have been inspired by her story, that have lost members of their own family, who just wish they had known about HBOT.  It's time people knew!   Episode Links: Shannon Kenitz IHA 2021 IHA Conference In Light Hyperbarics Business Over Beer  TH3 Entertainment Imperfectly thrive in a toxic world   Special Thanks to our Episode Sponsor: This episode is brought to you by Dr. Kate Wiggin, Chief Medical officer of Naturopathic Health ConneXion and In Light Hyperbarics in Vancouver Washington.  If you are you looking for a doctor that will listen to your concerns and address your unique medical issues, let Dr Kate and her more than 3 decades of medical training help you with your pain, inflammation, auto-immune disease, traumatic brain injury, cancer or any other complex medical issue with services ranging from Naturopathic and Homeopathic Medicine, IV Therapy, Light therapy, and Hyperbaric Oxygen. Episode 11: Living in a Toxic World & How to Reduce Your Toxic Burden After my amazing interview with Dr. Alexander Borsand in Episode 10, there was still so much that I wanted to cover about living in a toxic world. The fact is we are surrounded by toxins of all kinds, some we can control and others we can't.  I know that this may feel like like a dark and gloomy topic, but remember, I am giving you this information so you can be empowered to take control of your health. There is so much that we can control from within and implementing just a few of the suggestions in this episode can make a huge difference in the way you feel.   And as always, remember, perfection is not the goal. It's about gaining the knowledge to do better for ourselves.  We have the power friends!   Notes to help you tap into your inner healer: This episode focuses on physical toxins.  Physical toxins are man made toxins in our environment that might be impacting our health.  Understanding of the toxins that you encounter on a daily basis, you might realize that some health condition you have been experiencing may be a result of toxic overload that you can work to eliminate.  More than 95% of all chronic disease is caused by food choice, toxic ingredients, nutritional deficiencies, and lack of physical exercise.  Skin care and household cleaning products fall into three categories: carcinogens, endocrine disrupters, neurotoxins.  If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin. Toxic overload can lead to depression and daily detox habits can have a huge positive impact on mental health.  Why are we such a sick society? Here are some common toxins to be aware of: Plastics, food that comes in plastic, aluminum cans, amalgam tooth fillings, microwaves, tap/unfiltered water, processed foods, skin care products, household cleaning products The Toxic 12 When looking to detoxify, it's best eliminate your toxic intake first, then replace with positive daily detox habits.  Detox with caution, ease into it.  Take your power back with daily detox habits: Start with habits that improve your circulation.  Repair you gastrointestinal system with probiotics, aloe vera, bone broth, collagen, celery juice, apple cider vinegar and clean water with lemon or cucumber.  Daily Body Movement, like simple walking or yoga. Sweat promotes the release of toxins from your body.  Detoxifying foods: Garlic, ginger, onions, turmeric/turmeric lattes, beets, cruciferous vegetables (glutathione), greens (chlorophyll), herbal teas. Other detoxifying therapies: IV Therapy, chelation therapy, infrared sauna, dry skin brushing, and coffee enema.    Crazy Cait's Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Tea Recipe: Warm/hot water 1 shot of organic apple cider vinegar 1/2 a fresh lemon squeezed teaspoon of honey dash of cinnamon dash of cayenne pepper (optional)   CLICK HERE FOR AN AMAZING RESOURCE that allows you to see what toxic ingredients are in your every day products; beauty, cosmetics, skincare, foods, etc. Also, and can type in your area code to see what contaminants are currently in your tap water!   Feed your wellness challenge: Eliminate/Reduce 2 toxic habits.  Add in 1 new daily detox habit.  As always, let me know how it's going, what's working for you and what's been most challenging. Episode 10 with Dr. Alexander Borsand | Living imperfectly healthy in a toxic world On this episode of Into The Light with Crazy Cait, I welcome Dr. Alexander Borsand, M.D., a board certified physician in lifestyle medicine (ABLM). Lifestyle Medicine is about preventing, treating, and often times reversing, chronic disease and Dr. Borsand's main goal is working with his patients to get them off medication.   I met Dr. Borsand recently at a Hyperbaric Oxygen Training Seminar, and we had an amazing discussion about creating daily detoxification habits to managing all the high level of toxins that we are surrounded with on a daily basis.   Toxins are very real, and unfortunately, very unavoidable, in todays world and contribute to chronic disease. Avoiding and removing certain toxins from our life can have incredible health benefits. We only just scratched the surface, but Dr. Alexander provides a wide range of very practical and actionable steps that you can implement today to help you tap into your inner healer.    Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Even as an Allopathic trained physician, Dr. Alexander recognizes some of the shortfalls of Western Medicine and has worked with other medical communities on ways to treat root cause.   When we talk about removing toxins from your life, we're not talking about one time or trendy detox diets, we're talking about daily lifestyle changes.  Top toxic contributors: Air pollution - understanding that air pollution can move from state to state, even country to country, and educating ourselves on the causes and effects of air pollution and working with our governmental officials on improving air quality in our communities.  Water - know what's in your water, choose filtration that works for you, stay hydrated.  Nutrition - food is medicine, and medicine can be good or bad for you; gut health is extremely important to overall wellness, the gut biome is your second brain.  Ways to promote your body's natural ability to detoxify: Sunscreen - the sunscreen that's best for you is the one you'll use.  Increase antioxidants like vitamin c and vitamin e (especially good for the skin).  Sweat - Promotes the release of toxins out of your cells and brings them out through your skin. Physical activity, and sauna, especially infrared sauna, which heats you up from the inside out vs a regular steam sauna which heats you up from the outside in.  Educating ourselves - Increase your awareness of what's going into your body, what is actually good and actually bad.  Fiber - It is very difficult to get enough fiber from diet alone, use psyllium husk supplpements and add bran fiber to your diet.   Green tea extract - Helps with enzymes in your liver.  Chlorophyll -  Helps with the oxygenation of your cells. The Importance of Oxygen: Our bodies need 3 things to live: food, water, oxygen. If we stop eating food we can live for weeks, maybe months. If we stop drinking water we can live for days. If we stop taking in oxygen, we can only live for minutes, and our body has no reserve for it.  Understand that balance does not exist; think of a teeter totter, it constantly goes up and down and it never sits there and equalizes; we need to start thinking in terms of harmony, not balance   Episode links: Serenity Hyberbaric Center Lifestyle Medicine Dr. Jason Sonners Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Kangen Water The Plant Paradox International Hyperbarics Association Conference   This episode is brought to you by: Dr. Kate Wiggin, Chief Medical officer of Naturopathic Health ConneXion and In Light Hyperbarics in Vancouver Washington.  If you are you looking for a doctor that will listen to your concerns and address your unique medical issues, let Dr Kate and her more than 3 decades of medical training help you with your pain, inflammation, auto-immune disease, traumatic brain injury, cancer or any...

On this episode of Into The Light with Crazy Cait, I welcome back my business partner, Edna Ness, to discuss light therapy, what is it, how it works, who would benefit from it and the history of where it originated from.  I have always been a sun-worshiper at heart, how it helps the planet and gives us humans the energy to thrive. And in a world where natural therapies of all kinds are definitely on the rise, light therapy is freaking essential. Never would I have imagined that therapeutic sunshine is how I would help impact humanity for the better. But here I am, so let's freakin' send it!   Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Just like the sun helped to create life on this planet, it was light that brought Edna and I together as business partners as well. You might think that Light Therapy is kind of woo woo, but the power of light to heal has been around for thousands of years.  Light increases circulation, decreases pain and inflammation, and promotes energy at the cellular level.  Light photons are required by every single cellular activity, and provides your body energy to function.  You should question if any of your health conditions might be connected to a lack of light in your system.  Lack of natural light combined with overexposure to artificial light can cause a wide variety of health problems.   Light is the best way to help your nervous system relax, get you into a parasympathetic state, and out of fight or flight mode.    Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Get more light. Here are a few ideas to help you: Get outside and enjoy more sunshine Explore options for therapeutic light.  It's easy to get stuck in our routines of being indoors, but we need to let the light shine on our bodies. Allow the sun to be absorbed through your skin, take off your sunglasses so you can take it in through your eyes.   Open your windows to allow natural light to come in and even light candles in the evening.  Reduce artificial light exposure, including screen time, and especially at night. As always, let me know how it's going, what's working for you and what's been most challenging.  DM me on Instagram at IntoTheLight.Podcast or email me at hello@intothelightwithcrazycait.com   Episode Links: Into the Light Podcast In Light Hyperbarics Dr. Kate Wiggin The Naked Winery The Healing Art of Spectro-Chrome   This episode is brought to you by: Dr. Episode 8: Hurrican Edna | Going Into Business with My Ex Mother-in-Law Speaking your truth is such an important part tapping into your inner healer and this podcast, and the one person who has shown me the importance of speaking my truth is my ex mother-in-law(ish), and my business partner, Edna Ness.  Hurricane Edna is more than just a business partner, she is my soul family, and she is definitely a bit Alien like. She has a weird way of pulling things together, with a brain that's always 5 steps ahead, a huge heart of gold, an insanely strong work ethic, and a drive to bring her visions to life in a way that's definitely off this planet.  No we're not doctors, and because of that, we were not taken seriously by those within the Hyperbarics industry, they did not think we would be around for the long haul. Edna showed me how to stand my ground, fight for what I believe in, and not give up on everything we've worked so hard to build.  And here we are, 8 years later, still not doctors, but we have garnered the respect of the industry and are thriving in the middle of a global pandemic. Our business, In Light Hyperbarics, epitomizes "fighting for what you believe in", because our business exists because of our experiences. Edna and I were brought together, through some form of divine intervention, to be the messengers for this type of healing. We have turned our pain into healing, and we know we can do the same for others.  I couldn't be here, sharing this podcast with you, without Edna at my side, and I am so happy to share her with all of you in this episode.     Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Get out of your comfort zone and stand up for something you believe in. If you want to impact the world, you must face your fears, take a risk, and go outside of your comfort zone, with the understand (and the confidence) that that's where the magic happens.  Seems simple, but so often fear derails us. So if you're starting a business, or going through a new health diagnosis, a break up, or a change in career, if you are facing any kind of shift into something new, I challenge you to jump all in. You'll never know what's on the other side until you do.   Episode Links: Follow Into The Light  In Light Hyperbarics Business Over Beer TH3 Entertainment TRT International Hyperbarics Association OxyHealth

Episode 7: Tapping Into Your Inner Alien On this episode of Into The Light with Crazy Cait, I am shaking things up a bit and we're going to have some fun talking about Aliens. First off, what do Aliens have to do with health, wellness and tapping into your inner healer?! Well, this is a topic that I have not always been comfortable talking about, and anytime you prevent yourself from speaking your truth or from showing up as your true authentic self, you can negatively impact your wellbeing.  So today, I am speaking my truth. This episode is about tapping into the primal nutrient of connection. It's about identifying where you lack connection, and finding a meditative state that allows you to connect to source - or god, or the earth, or the universe, or love, or energy, whatever YOU consider "source" - in order to become more grounded and to find fulfillment.   The more grounded you are, the more connection you'll feel - to ALL life.     Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Keep in mind that my truth is different from your truth. I understand that this topic may not resonate with you. And that is OK. We all have different truths and realities, different beliefs and belief systems, but we are all divinely unique and that is the coolest thing about the human experience. The Aliens that I am talking about today are different from the Aliens that you have seen in movies and on TV.  The Aliens I am talking about are beings that exists from a different territory, a different space and time and even a different dimension. These Aliens often come in the form of frequency and energy and can require a channeler to translate it into the language that we can understand.   Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Keep an open mind, remember our truths are different, and listen to other people's truths without judgement. Let's honor each other's experiences - and our own. Tell me about your experiences with aliens, extra terrestrials, channeling - any of it, all of it. Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 6: Mental Health, Part 2 | Getting Real About Your Mental Health As a follow up to the previous episode in which I talked about some of my own struggles, we continue in this episode on the topic of mental health.  Here we are in the year 2021, and the issues surrounding mental health, especially the wide ranging types of mental health problems, the causes, and viable treatments, (other than pharmaceutical), remain to a certain extent, taboo. One of the biggest misconceptions is not recognizing that your mental health is directly related to your physical health. Problems related to mental health are an invisible imbalance, an unseen struggle, and people don't connect that not feeling right mentally may actually be a result of a physical imbalance or injury. Only when we are able to bring these issues to the fore and discuss them openly, will we start to normalize them and the healing can begin more broadly.    Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Mental health is a huge spider web of topics that can be overwhelming, but that is not a reason to avoid bringing it up.   Mental Heath is connected to brain health which is directly related to physical health. Physical health must be aligned with our emotional state and our surrounding environment. The way we think affects our energy and our actions, and when we change our thoughts we can change our lives. When talking about mental health, we have to address depression, which can be brought on by any number of things and there's still a stigma around talking about it. 4 keys to opening up about mental health and depression: It's ok to not be ok. Be honest about your mental health. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Depression is real, don't let anyone tell you different. Mental Health remains taboo because of the lack of knowledge, lack of open communication, and our collective inability to be able to speak about it openly. This taboo leads people with mental health issues and depression to live in shame, afraid to to pen up, to ask for heap, which compounds the problem. As a society, we are overmedicating ourselves, only treating symptoms and covering up what's really happening and not getting to the root of the problem. Common causes of mental health issues: brain trauma, malnutrition, lack of movement, excessive screen time. Our brain is only 2% of our body mass, but utilizes 20% of the oxygen we breathe.   Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Are you getting enough sleep? Inadequate sleep is extremely detrimental to brain health. During sleep, your brain is working on cleansing and eliminating cellular debris and toxins that build up during the day. It's literally like taking out the trash. It also works to consolidate our learning and memory that we had during the day and helps prepare us for the next day. Friends, focus on getting more (and better) sleep. Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 5: Mental Health, Part 1 | Getting Real About My Mental Health I asked one of my clients what topic would he like to hear about on the podcast and he said hands down, mental health. So, I was all prepared to show up for today's episode and begin tacking this very important subject.  There was only one problem. I wasn't in the right frame of mind with my own mental health to discuss it. And opening up and talking about my own mental health is very difficult for me. So I asked one of my people, Ben Surrat, to join me again on the show, to help me get raw and get real, and open up about my struggles in managing all the things.  This episode is about showing you the real me, to talk about being human, my struggles as a business owner and a young female entrepreneur, and how even I have to work hard at practicing what I preach.  Let's freakin' send it!    Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: When I take on a project, I go all in, and launching this podcast has resulted in other aspects of my life falling by the wayside. This week I found myself trying to tap back into back into my business and my life outside of my business. I have a tendency to overthink things and stress out in moments that maybe don't really need to be stressful. Sometimes you need to take a step back from the stress and change your story. If I step out to work on projects outside of the business, I feel guilty that I am not always available for my people. It really gets to me when I do not have the time to connect with my team one on one, consistently  We have worked hard to build a culture where everyone can feel good and feel healthy. The happier and healthier my team is, that will feed right into our client's experience.  While I have gratitude to my team for stepping up in their roles, which has allowed me to step out and take on projects outside of my business, I also get FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). Then comes the domino effect, and I question if am I giving enough to family, and friends, and myself. When I got the help I needed inside my business, someone to take over for things that were bogging me down, things that I had been doing for so long, I didn't know what to do and started floundering a bit. I felt a sense of grief in letting that go and giving up control, wondering where is my place now. In getting out of my comfort zone, especially with this podcast, to get the message out about taking control of your wellness, some days I feel like I am conquering the world. Other days the little gremlins pop their head out and fill me with negative self talk. I go through feeling like I am not doing enough, like I'm running out of time, and left wondering what did I accomplish today? Imposter syndrome sets in. Who am I to do...well any of the things I am doing.   To manage the roller coaster, go back to your why, what's your purpose. Sometimes, just showing up is enough of an accomplishment. Lean into your people, lean into the experts, lean into anyone who can help take things on that you may be having a hard time doing. If you're a business owner, hire a business coach. Give gratitude for the grace that others give you. And pass it on.  Remember, self care is not selfish, it's essential.     Feed Your Wellness Challenge: How much time do you create for yourself? Journal the moments that you are taking the time for you. Hold yourself accountable by tracking it, taking notes, and trying something new you've never done before. Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 4: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Discovering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) came at a time of desperation. My business partner suffered for over 30 years with chronic migraines, and after an accident, her migraines got worse, they came on stronger and her medication was not working. We had heard that getting more oxygen to the brain could bring healing, but we had no idea if it would work until until we tried. After 20 sessions of HBOT, she got the healing she needed, her migraines went away completely and it completely changed her life. We knew we had to give this gift to the world. As a result, we took our business in a new, completely unplanned, direction, pioneering this new industry.  This has now become my calling. My passion is for people to become aware of it, know what it is and how it works, and understand how to access it for their healing. Ultimately, it can allow people to take their health back Wellness is the new fitness. We are so used to feeling sluggish and tired and that has somehow become the new normal. But that is not normal. We just don't realize our human potential and how good our body was designed to feel. Take a dive into HBOT.    Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Oxygen sustains life and has the power to heal.  When you are breathing oxygen under pressure, it will dissolve into the plasma of your blood and other fluids in your body. This allows your body to promote energy production at the cellular level, and when we're producing energy within ourselves, it has the power to initiate healing from within. Hyperbaric Oxygen is one of the oldest healing modalities on the planet and was actually utilized prior to the discovery of oxygen. The body has the power to heal from within. By adding an extra dose of oxygen, miracles can happen. If we have a health condition or an imbalance, most likely we are deficient to some extent in oxygen at the cellular level. We are lacking oxygen because our atmosphere has changed; we have less oxygen in the air we breathe and it is full of toxins. Inflammation hinders the absorption of oxygen to different areas.  What kind of conditions does it treat: Migraines Traumatic brain injuries, even old brain injuries, in which symptoms haven't surfaced until 20, 30 or 40 years later. Cancer support Sports performance; excellent for training and recovery. Auto immune conditions, Heart and cardiovascular health Arthritis Skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, acne, or scarring. REMEMBER: Our skin is a reflection of what is happening on the inside. Depression Chronic fatigue Can help support weight loss management because it stimulates metabolism Chronic inflammation Support detoxification Collagen production Recovery from Covid-19 Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a soft shell chamber, portable, 1.3ata 4psi, equivalent to breathing in oxygen at 9 feet below sea level Hard Shell Chamber allows dosing to different pressures, from 9 feet all the way to 66 below feet, but on average we go to 30 feet.    Feed your Wellness Challenge: If you are local to the Vancouver, WA / Portland, OR metro area, come visit us at In Light Hyperbarics and talk to us about a HBOT regimen that could work for you. Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 3: Imperfectly Healthy Being healthy can be a colorful journey and it's definitely unpredictable. It's like a wavy maze that changes constantly, and it's one that's unique to each and every one of us. Just stay true to you. If you want to be healthy, start by showing up imperfectly, choose power over pain, and honor those imperfect days or choices we make, that may also fill up your cup in that moment. It's ok to live and be human. Being healthy is an art, so tap into your creativity, and utilize what you have access to. It's like a dance with yourself, understand that it will take time, it will take practice, and a lot of compassion and acceptance of who you are in this moment, honoring where you're at, and aiming for better tomorrow. It's OK if you step on your own feet, and don't be too hard on yourself. You can take your health back. Healing begins in the mind, is led by the heart and accomplished by the body.    Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Perfection is the enemy of progress. We strive for perfection in all areas of our lives, and is constantly being driven by outside factors that we have to manage. Perfection can cause us to procrastinate, and prevent us from moving ahead with projects, most notably ourselves, which should be our favorite project. Everyone's view of perfection is different; there is no one size fits all and what might be good for one person may not be good for someone else. Also, what might be good for me today might be different than what's good for me tomorrow.  Being healthy includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. We all deserve to thrive, and striving for perfection can bring up feelings of shame, past trauma, perceived views from others, and feelings of unworthiness. Information overload creates an imbalance to our overall health, focus on the things that resonate with you and block out the rest. Inflammation causing foods that can cause health imbalance: dairy, gluten, processed sugar, and alcohol. Periodic changes to your intake of these can help bring your health back in balance.  Accept where you've been, honor where you are, and concentrate on balance, not perfection or permanence. Focus on hydration, greens, healthy fats like avocados, nuts/seeds, lean proteins, collagen, movement, getting outside, and sleep, sleep sleep. Some non-meat, protein rich foods: edamame, spinach, broccoli, lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, collard greens Don't have to wait until you're unhealthy to focus on your health. Being proactive with your health can pay dividends as we get older and will help us live the best quality life. Your life will be messy and imperfect, but know that your mess can be someone else's message.    Feed Your Wellness Challenge: For the next 30 days, focus on 1 area of your life that will help you feed your wellness. Maybe it's eliminating a food trigger like dairy or alcohol. It could be something as simple as adding lemon to your water water each day, or spending 5 minutes a day in meditation. Maybe you need to move, so go for a daily walk, or try yoga. Stick with it for 30 days and send me a message on Instagram and let me know how it's going and how you feel.    Episode Links: Into The Light with Crazy Cait Follow on Instagram In Light Hyperbarics The Medical Medium

Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 2: Primal Nutrients When I talk about Primal Nutrients, there's no need to look any further than the definitions of the two words. Primal: Essential or basic for survival. Nutrients: A substance that provides nourishment which is essential for growth and the maintenance of life. Since ancient times, humans have been able to thrive on what the earth has provided. So why, in our modern times, do we have to make it so difficult on ourselves. It's time we get back to basics when it comes to healing and everyday wellness, and feed our bodies the primal nutrients that are essential for the human body.   Four Main Primal Nutrients: Oxygen: Creates and sustains life, and has the power to heal us and provide energy for survival. Water: Necessary for hydration; you may not be sick, you might just be thirsty. Focus on clean, alkaline filtered water with as few contaminants as possible. Nourishment: Eat real food that has not been processed, and eat the rainbow. Light: Natural Light Sunshine: The sun's natural rays help produce energy. Every cell in the body, and the activity it performs, requires light photons. Light helps with pain, inflammation, recovery from injury. Light helps you get into a parasympathetic state of relaxation which is when our bodies can truly heal when we are out of that flight or flight stress. Therapeutic Light Natural Occurring Blue Light: Helps to set circadian rhythms; not artificial blue light from screen time on electronic devices. Far Infrared: Heat based light that heats up cells to promote detoxification. Near infrared: Activates ATP in the mitochondria which is energy for cell function. Red light: Helps rejuvenate the body, needed on a daily basis. UV: Helps to synthesize vitamin D   Other Human Necessities that compliment the 4 main primal nutrients: Frequency/Vibration: Power comes from within, affects attitude and mindset. Movement: Without movement, the lymphatic system can get congested and muscles can deteriorate. Connection: Learn more about the importance of Human Connection in Episode 1.   Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: Primal Nutrients help support and promote detoxification in the body, eliminate the toxic burden within our system and allow the body's natural detox rhythm to kick in. Be careful of Supplement Overkill; the synthetic fillers in supplements can bombard your system actually making it work harder to clean the fillers out resulting in the body not absorbing the nutrient your body is actually craving. We lean on supplements to promote wellness and boost immunity in the body and we forget about the natural healing capabilities within.   Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Focus on Hydration: Drink half of your body weight in water every day   Episode links: Into The Light with Crazy Cait Follow on Instagram In Light Hyperbarics Google search for macronutrients...where's oxygen? Into The Light with Crazy Cait - Episode 1: Human Connection Do you know the secret to being happy, successful and productive?  Human Connection.  Our brains have evolved a network that was created for socializing, and in 2020, we all lost so much of it due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and not surprisingly, our physical and mental health suffered as a result.   In this episode of Into The Light with Crazy Cait, I will walk you through what I went through in the early days of the pandemic, what I learned about the importance of human connection, and how I am choosing to cope during these challenging times. Let's freakin' send it!   Notes to help you Tap Into Your Inner Healer: In March 2020, my business, In Light Hyperbarics closed, and uncertainty of the future piled onto the stress I was already feeling from being burned out.  The closure, at first, was actually welcome change, allowing me to get out of town and recharge.  I quickly learned that getting out of the normal routine can create more stress on the body, causing some folks to start overeating, binge drinking, and moving less.  I started feeling helpless during the time off, going from full schedule to no schedule, created a sense of emptiness, a lack of purpose and without human connection, negatively impacted my mental health. In 2020 the way we connected with the other humans has completely changed, and we need to be aware of that change and be more proactive to find that connection. In the face of a negative situation, I try to keep a positive mindset, I try to find the blessings and be grateful for what I do have, which opens me up to more and more blessings. Even in a pandemic, you can Say Yes To Your Life, and get over your fear of things that make you uncomfortable, and by leaning into your people. Saying yes to my life was remembering that my purpose is to feed wellness for my community, and realized my business can be about human connection just as much as it can be about healing. You can shift your mindset to find light in the darkness, and you have the power to navigate yourself out of the situations that are not serving you.    Feed Your Wellness Challenge: Do not take human connection for granted anymore! Thank Yourself. You made it through one of the most difficult years in a century, be thankful.    Episode links: Into The Light with Crazy Cait Follow on Instagram In Light Hyperbarics Social: Why are brains are wired to connect The BOB Happy Hour with Crazy Cait Business Over Beer with Crazy Cait Business Over Beer recorded at InLight Hyperbarics

Episode 0: Why Into The Light I would say welcome back, but this is episode 0, first timer here. For those of you that listened to my trailer, did I get ya? Do you really want to know how I got into business with my ex-mother in-law.. Welp, it's all light baby, all light, and sometimes its a shit show for sure but we will dive into that later. You might be wondering, Why Into the Light? I view it as diving into what's possible, changing your perspective, a mindset shift, awakening to something more, something bigger than YOU! Holding that light for yourself and for others. Whether that's figuratively, literally, spiritually… any of it!  Let's break the cycle of being negative or limited in our thinking… just because its somehow more socially acceptable. I want to inspire you to think outside the box, and also tap into your inner healer, whether you think you need healing or not. Don't lie, we're all a hot mess in one way or another. You may be thinking.. “Omg thats so fufu” or “she's so woo woo.” Welp let me tell ya, I live for the woo, and I'm here to prove its real. Vibration, frequency that shit is absolutely necessary to take your health to the next level. Mixed with a little light, oxygen and some secret sauce - primal nutrients baby, we gotta get back to our roots! Your mindset is a literal frequency and that's why it's so damn important. Healing begins within. Why am I even doing this? Choosing to show up in a new light, bringing you stories and experiences that maybe others out there will resonate with? Who I am today is a 180 flip of who I was before my adventurous years of healing, exploring and rising up from the growing pains of life. What I've learned over the years while dealing with a compromised immune system, constantly getting sick, always tired… and tired of being sick and tired, so many have encouraged me to speak my truth, and here I am sharing it with you.   For an active 20 something year old with severe FOMO (fear of missing out), the struggle was real. From traveling and backpacking Central America, living abroad, discovering my inner mermaid, my love for the ocean and somehow dodging college altogether, to eventually becoming a young business owner when I was only 26. It has been a whirlwind of magical surprises and lessons. Living out my passion of sharing natural healing while juggling life, family, relationships, my own health, my sanity and staying inspired to keep moving forward has taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and maybe, just maybe, the things that have shaped my life over the years are worth sharing with the world. I'm here to awaken the flame within, ignite the fire, help you step into your light, and unleash the dragon. Whatever fits your crazy. I'm here for it.  Also, I cannot wait to eventually introduce you to some of my favorite humans and experts in the alternative world of all things health! I like to think I know a little about A LOT of things. So I will most definitely be leaning into my people who will expand on some pretty hot topics. I like to think of it as bringing some hidden gems to light!  So Let's talk about you…. Who are my listeners? How did you find me? Divine intervention maybe? One can only hope. Are you feeling uninspired in life? Stuck in a story that's not serving you? Confused on how to take your health back? Overwhelmed? Unworthy of living a life without struggle? Are you bored with your wellness routine? OR simply just bored? Do you feel like you've tried everything under the sun to shake shit up? I've been there! More times than I can humanely count. I'm going to talk to you about THRIVING during a pandemic, AND in life! Thriving (to me) doesn't always mean being 100% AWESOME all the time, every day, every minute. I can't stand those who radiate fake positivity, you know, the "Good Vibes Only" persona. No, F that! It's about keeping it real, honest, and authentically raw. Owning your struggles, but on the flipside,...
