The Evanstonian – Evanston Township High School's student newspaper – brings you Kit Chat, a podcast that will dive into the biggest topics facing ETHS and Evanston. The show will feature interviews with the Evanstonian's reporters, students, teachers, staff, and other members of the Evanston community. Just as The Evanstonian has been informing the ETHS community for decades, Kit Chat aims to do the same.
Executive editors and hosts of Kit Chat, Lauren Dain and Eden Drajpuch, speak to Student Representative Barbara Tomaradze and In-Depth Editor Jessica Sehgal about the first month of being back in person after over a year away. Tomaradze talks about the student response to the return, while Sehgal describes the reporting process on the In-Depth story for the September issue: Under Pressure. In that piece, the In-Depth team tracks how a return to the building has also been a return to the high expectations placed on students to participate in as many classes and clubs as possible to appear 'well-rounded.' Check out the entire September issue of the Evanstonian at evanstonian.net. To find some of the mental health resources that Jessica speaks about in the episode, https://www.eths.k12.il.us/Page/1422 (head here).
In their first episode as executive editors of the Evanstonian and hosts of Kit Chat, Lauren Dain and Eden Drajpuch speak with Booked's Rachel Round about how the local bookstore navigated the pandemic. Special offer: Anyone who listens to this podcast can get 10 percent off their purchase at Booked if they mention Kit Chat at check out. For more about Evanston's and ETHS' push to come out of the pandemic, check out the first Evanstonian issue of the school year online at evanstonian.net or in print around ETHS.
In this episode of Kit Chat, hosts Zachary Bahar and Nora Miller (Executive Editors of the Evanstonian) discuss some of their favorite movies and TV shows. Unsurprisingly, Nora knows what's happening, Zachary does not. It's WHOLESOME CONTENT. We will eventually, and maybe sometime soon, get to a point when we're releasing episodes that weren't recorded a month ago.
