#Livebroadcasting has the momentum and potential to be the next powerful digital channel to connect with your audience. This podcast is the excerpt of a live-broadcast, where I present 7 key reasons why your nonprofit will highly benefit from going "live". Here is, why I think Live-broadcasting is an extremely interesting format for nonprofits: 1) Live broadcasting is accessible for everybody. That means you can get on every smartphone. Nearly everybody has a Facebook account or could log into YouTube live. The smartphone is like the pocket radio or TV-Set that our parents, our grant parents bought in the fifties to be connected. The only difference is that live broadcasting brings YOU to your audience and followers. No broadcasting-station needed. 2) Then it's a question of low maintenance and costs. This "live" is made with an extra camera with some light and with a microphone. So you don't need a fancy film team that is coming to your place and filming you. The technical bandwidth to upload your video upload should not be a problem anymore. And, the resolution of a webcam just works well on the smartphone screens. Just have a camera, light, and sound and you're ready to go whenever you like. 3) Live broadcasting has the magic of being in real-time. If you are "live", the audience ready at the moment joins in to see what is going to happen right now. Your audience can interact with the questions they have. Why not using this direct connection to create a more meaningful interaction with your supporters, constituents, and donors? 4) Being interactive & authentic is at the center when defining live broadcasting: It goes along with the idea of being real-time. You can give an impression of what you care about, answer the questions, clear off doubts, bring up topics that top of mind of people. But there is more to it: If you look at my live broadcast right now, you see that I am doing my best now to reach out here now. And, you can then judge yourself. Does everything make sense to me? Is this really authentic to me? Do I trust this sender basically? 5) Live broadcasting lets you decide to integrate recorded content, and it's nothing wrong with it either. You can contribute something that is relevant and that is nice to see that is prepared in advance. Just add videos, images, and PDFs. This preparation and structure can help relieve your pressure of being "live" and can guide you within your presentation.6) It is a new channel for creating engagement. There will come this tipping point when you have more people joining into your lives and really interact with you. I am doing digital marketing, working in digital all day long, and a lot of things that are natural for me - but not for the people outside. In my last "live", I was amazed at the questions and associations participants contributed. This engagement is highly valuable to find out how your message is understood and what your audience really wants.7) And lastly live lets you repurpose your content. Why not going out with this broadcast where you had the best energy that I could give? A live cast here can make an attractive post on social media with a 30 to 90-second video excerpt for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. So we are at the end of a challenging year. In challenging times, there are new opportunities. This could be live-broadcasting that brings you even closer to your constituents than you were before. And maybe you can also even reach more people than you have reached before. Great problem solvers are made, not born. That's what a recently published McKinsey article of Robert McLean and Charles Conn. After decades of problem-solving with leaders across all sectors the authors find: Effective leaders learn to adopt a particularly open and curious mindset and use to a systematic process for cracking even the most complicated problems. Here are their 6 mindsets to success. Thanks to the authors for their permission to use the article as a base of this' weeks podcast. I refer and quote to the author's article and draw connections to challenges in the nonprofit world. The article depicts major disruptions and trends in leadership and management in recent years. Generation Z contributes strongest to volunteering, LinkedIn study shows The Corona pandemic has contributed to a boost in Volunteering and civil rights activity in recent months according to Linkedin. New data from the professional social network shows that its members in the United States added more than 110,000 volunteer activities to their profiles each month. This is more than twice the rate than recently. LinkedIn's numbers show that nonprofits could benefit from the volunteerism of „Generation Z - People younger than 25. They are the most likely to list volunteering activities. Relative to their overall share in LinkedIn, people older than 55 are least likely to list themselves up for volunteering activities.Source:https://www.thenonprofittimes.com/hr/pandemic-spreads-volunteering-study-shows/#More people will need Charity‘s aid in the United Kingdom due to covid19A recent survey by The National Emergencies Trust projects that 7 million people could be forced to seek help from a charity within the next twelve months. The volume of text messaging by nonprofits grew by 14 percent overall last year. Nonprofit text messaging audiences grew by a quarter compared to last year, more than six times of the Facebook audiences. Email list sizes actually declined slightly. The numbers are still a sign that users are incredibly comfortable using mobile devices as their primary means of staying in touch with the causes they care about. However, the mobile contacts that nonprofits have are still low. According to the report, nonprofits only have 72 mobile subscribers for every 1,000 email addresses. This is a testing time for nonprofits: Within the COVID Pandemic, demand for nonprofits' excellence in programs and services is rising. Meeting the increasing demand leaves many nonprofits fighting for resources and struggling to connect with people. With social distancing, in-person events canceled, and social channels to reach out, nonprofits' digital capabilities are becoming increasingly important to attract and retain donors. End of February this year, at the beginning of the Corona outbreak, Salesforce Cloud and digital Marketing automation leader, has been presenting its second edition of the Nonprofit Trends Report. According to the report, most nonprofits find themselves in a backlog of adapting and embracing technology. Two-thirds of respondents said that the technology they use at home is more productive than what they use at their nonprofit. Three quarters said to have a CRM system in place, but only half of it use it to engage through social and digital channels. In an increasingly digital world, measurement and testing are the basis of marketing success. To reach the highest potential impact, nonprofits have to set and track timely data of their marketing goals. However, less than one-third of surveyed organizations measured email deliverability, social influence, or marketing conversion at all. Even though times are tough, the current situation is presenting an opportunity to engage with inspired individuals, Salesforce concludes in the Trends Report. More than ever, nonprofits have an opportunity to engage hearts and minds, inspire people to take action, measure their impact, and manage their entire mission. As expectations change, so must the social sector's approach to serving people and achieve their mission. So, what is shifting for your nonprofit organization, and how does technology support its ability to fund and your organization's mission? I am looking forward to showcasing your story.
