There is a lot more to bodywork than most people realize. Practitioners usually start off as massage therapists, masseurs or masseuses so that they can be certified and licensed by their respective state and local regulators to practice massage on their clients. But there are many who go on to study the many more holistic, even ancient methods of healing the entire body, like Chinese massage and acupressure. Some will also incorporate other healing modalities in their work, like Tibetan singing bowls or, as in bodyworker Ryan Fisher's case, tuning forks and cups. Many who know without any doubt that life and consciousness continue after death come to their realization through personal experiences with loved ones who have transitioned Home. Though I've always known and believed in life after death rationally, it hasn't yet been "proven." But insight isn't about that which is proven for all, it's about what resonates and becomes proof for each person. My deep knowing came from after-death communication with those I love dearly, making it more real to me than any scientific proof. There have been more books and articles written about spirituality and what it "means" to be spiritual. If you've tried to read any of them, you might agree that there are about as many ways to view what spirituality is, what it should be - and what it could be - as there are people who strive to stay in that state of being. And I found that so many authors who try to clarify it end up making it so much more complex than it probably needs to be. Wouldn't it be really something if, after all the words written and spoken about it, spirituality and being spiritual was actually quite ... simple?

Tracy Halterman has a deep fascination with healing. She's a bodyworker – a licensed and certified massage therapist who includes additional training, techniques and modalities – to discern how the body moves, what happens with each motion, and facilitate improved range of motion with less or no pain. Laurie Blomer's ability to talk with animals has been with her since childhood.
