In this episode I sit down with Lukas Feireiss, a true "Wundertüte" filled with exciting stories and perspectives. We explore the beautiful intersection of healing and the arts. Growing up with a medical doctor father and a gallerist mother, Lukas experienced these two worlds not as separate, but as seamlessly co-present. Today, he dedicates his work to building bridges between medicine and art, recognizing them as complementary ways to understand and engage with the world. We dive into his work with the Charité on the "Healing Arts" dialogue series and measurable health benefits of both active and passive engagement with the arts. We also discuss navigating vulnerability in a society that often disciplines male emotion, and how practices as seemingly opposite as Reiki and martial arts both ultimately teach us the profound power of presence and soft power. What You'll Learn in This Episode:Why creativity can be seen simply as a structural principle of life , rooted in growth and evolution. How to uncover your own "creative DNA" and recognize your inherent structural forces. Why you don't need to intellectually "understand" art ; it is primarily about resonance and presence. The power of giving yourself a "date with art" by sitting with a painting and observing your physical sensations. How healing is not about returning to a previous status quo , but about evolving and growing after a disruption.About the Guest Lukas Feireiss works as a curator, coach, and bridge-builder between transdisciplinary arts and medicine. Through his coaching practice, Cura vision, he acts as a co-navigator to help people reveal their inherent creative strengths and design their external expressions. This is a meditation called Intuitive New You I did a few months ago to help you receive answers to questions you have about how to proceed in your life. It's amazing what comes up when we just pause and listen to the subconscious mind (to our higher selves). It's then just about actually doing what is suggested – trusting! You're at the cusp of your initiation in the healing arts. You know it because every medicine you touch is giving you the same answer. Your connection to nature and elemental spirits are undeniable. You know it because the synchronicities are getting louder. The signs are everywhere. You keep seeing the same numbers, hearing the same words, dreaming the same dreams. You know it because there's a pull in your intuition that you can't explain and can't ignore. It doesn't make complete logical sense. But it's undeniable. This meditation will help to clear away old, stuck stuff that is ready to be removed from your body, to make way for the lighter, freer future self just waiting for you. In this meditation and musing, we work with the energy of Ganesha, the remover obstacles. With his gentle guidance, we do some breathwork to cleanse and clear stuck energy. Then, the gentle light and beauty of Lakshmi comes in to help us be rebirthed like a lotus flower in spring. Through the pathway of light out of our hearts, we see and feel ourselves awakening to a new day, with lightness in our step and with hopeful hearts, moving forward in a path of light into our highest and best future. ---- Merging the spiritual with the real world, Rachel Horton White helps people release negative patterns in their lives, with practical tools like mindfulness, energy and intuition exercises, to connect with their true, inner selves. Have you ever had one of those months where you just can't climb out of a dark hole? That was my October and November. My son had a health scare (instant compassion for every parent walking that road), I wasn't sleeping—wide awake at 3 a.m. every night (thank God for a dear friend who meets me at Starbucks at 5 a.m.)—and I felt completely unmotivated and uninspired by my work. Not fun.I'm sharing this because maybe you've been there too. And here's the gift hidden inside those seasons: wisdom. What did I learn? Compassion for myself. Humility that I will never “have it all together.” Trust that this, too, shall pass. And it did pass. The light returned—beginning with the conversation you're about to hear with Dr. John Price. It was medicine for my soul, and I know it will be for yours too.Meet Dr. John W. PriceDr. John W. Price is a licensed psychotherapist, Jungian scholar, and modern-day mythmaker devoted to bridging psychology and spirituality in service of deep transformation. He holds a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Jungian Psychology and co-founded The Center for Healing Arts and Sciences in Houston with his wife, Leila-Scott Price. Before dedicating his life to healing, John spent a decade as a professional musician—a journey that immersed him in both the highs of creative success and the depths of self-destruction. Becoming a father marked a powerful turning point, when the soul's call overtook ambition and led him to his true purpose: guiding others through life's great initiations—grief, identity collapse, spiritual awakening, and the long return to wholeness. He now serves as President of the Board at the Jung Center of Houston, teaches at the Esalen Institute, and hosts The Sacred Speaks podcast—where he explores depth psychology, spirituality, mysticism, and meaning with guests like Richard Rohr, Anne Lamott, and Thomas Moore. In This Episode We Explore✨ John's own “cracking open” story—from life as a rock musician to his awakening as a soul-centered psychotherapist ✨ How fatherhood transformed his ambitions into a deeper calling to serve ✨ Practical wisdom for navigating the dark night of the soul with grace and courage ✨ How men's vulnerability and shadow work can become catalysts for collective healing ✨ Our candid exchange where I challenge John to fully step into his leadership as a bridge between psychology, spirituality, and the modern masculineThis conversation is rich with laughter, depth, and truth—but above all, hope. John is a luminous guide whose presence reminds us that even in darkness, we are never alone. If you're walking through your own “dark night,” or simply feeling lost, uninspired, or uncertain, this episode is your lifeline. John offers not quick fixes or toxic positivity, but grounded wisdom:You're not broken—you're breaking open.Press play and remember—the light isn't just coming; it's already within you, waiting to be rediscovered.

We know the definition of a mystical experience: it's ineffable, it's transitive, it's a unitive experience. I'm willing to say that most of us have had these kinds of experiences, and yet because our culture doesn't support that world view, we write them off as what you can call the ‘nothing but'.” –Dr. John PriceAbout Dr. John Price:Dr. John Price is a Jungian psychotherapist, co-founder of The Center for Healing Arts & Sciences, and host of The Sacred Speaks podcast. Grateful to have had Janet Young, founder of Rising Tides Reiki and Meditation, meditation teacher, Reiki Master Teacher, licensed massage therapist, and author, join me on the show again! Please join us as we discuss: the inspiration behind her children's book The Ant Who Meditated her philosophies on energy awareness in children what she means by, "in a world of madness, stillness is your superpower" the benefits of massage, Reiki, and meditation Reiki: the marriage of spiritual energy and life force energy and so much more! Welcome to The Healing Place Podcast! I am your host, Teri Wellbrock. You can listen in on Pandora, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Amazon Music, and more, or directly on my website at www.teriwellbrock.com/podcasts/. You can also catch our insightful interview on YouTube. Bio: Janet Young My name is Janet Young. I have been conscious of the subtle and invisible realms of energy as long as I can remember. As a child I was a natural intuitive, empath and often saw and communicated with the dead. I had a childhood in the northwoods on a large farm. I was literally in the woods from sun up until sundown. This was my choice, I felt nurtured in the forest. The natural world is our foundation for life and a direct connection to Pure Creator Energy. As an adult I spent 5 years doing missionary work in the inner city of Chicago, had an intense NDE in my early 20's and later graduated from the Dovestar Institute of Holistic Technology. My studies included meditation, body alchemia, Reiki, massage therapy, reflexology and more. While learning massage therapy I instantly began seeing Animal Spirit Totems in my client's Chakras. I then took classes in Shamanic studies to gain understanding of the animal totems and began the practice of Shamanic journeys. I am also a certified Vipassana Meditation Teacher. As a massage therapist I have many advanced certifications including lymphatic drainage, prenatal massage, craniosacral therapy, hot stones, neuromuscular, sound healing, Shamanic Reiki, TCM acupressure, and more. I am mindful of the body, mind, spirit connection and often combine energy medicine modalities, meditation, and massage to achieve optimal results for my clients. Being certified in Sound Healing using Tuning Forks from the school of Acutonics and Soma Energetics, I have developed many ways to achieve Chakra balancing, both remotely and in person, creating harmony within my clients biofield. I have been a successful Reiki Master Teacher since 2008. I have seen many clients come to me with pain, ailments, and emotional energies that were stuck in their body or energy fields who found relief with my combined therapies. I have also enjoyed watching my Reiki students expand their skills, build confidence and receive all the gifts that becoming a Reiki practitioner brings! As a meditation teacher I have had many students who came to me believing that they could not meditate or could not achieve higher states of consciousness who leave my classes having achieved both. After working 20 years in the Healing Arts, combining Reiki with Shamanism and many other modes of psychic and energy healing with massage therapy, I would never compare one's visionary healing work to anothers. Reiki is as deep as YOU are. Limitless. We are all an infinite source of the Divine within us. I am happy to answer any questions about Reiki or what I teach, or how a chakra reading or massage session with me may be of help to you. Thank you! In this powerful conversation, Veronica sits with Zeena Ismail - a Palestinian somatic practitioner, trauma educator and writer - to explore what it means to belong, to heal and to stay rooted in the midst of ongoing displacement and collective trauma.Zeena's work weaves politicised somatics with land-based practice and systemic literacy, inviting Arabs and diaspora communities into embodied repair through her six-month bilingual programme, Where Do We Begin. They explore the intersections of trauma, resistance and reclamation - how bodies hold the weight of occupation, and how safety, grief and aliveness can coexist. This episode invites us to look beyond ideology and into the body as a site of truth, where liberation and safety must include everyone.Rooted Healing's year-long programme, Deepen Your Roots, is now enrolling for its third cohort. Acting as an incubation ground and compass toward a more beautiful world, Deepen Your Roots invites participants into a year of embodied exploration through place, body, spirit and calling - nourishing leadership and participation in the Great Turning. This cycle leans more deeply into participatory, relational learning, with co-created practice, small-group inquiry, ritual and embodied exploration, and a renewed effort to gather elders and living-tradition keepers whose presence anchors the work toward humility, continuity and intergenerational wisdom. In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, FCAH, RBHT (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks Amber who shared her journey from a childhood of homemade remedies to becoming a successful massage therapist. She emphasized the importance of a no-tipping model, which she believes elevates massage therapy to a healthcare service. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/amber-briggle Highlights from today's episode include: Amber says stay true to your values—define what your business stands for and consistently uphold those values to attract the right clients and team members. Amber adopted a no-tipping model—pay practitioners a living wage, which reduces stress for both clients and therapists and positions massage as healthcare, not just a service. Manon innovated with client-centered practices—test out industry shifts, like making appointments truly last a full hour and encouraging cancellations only when clients have genuinely improved, to foster trust and a caring environment for clients. ABOUT AMBER BRIGGLE Amber Briggle is the CEO of B-Well Enterprises, and the founder and owner of Soma Massage Therapy: a multi-award-winning business and the nation's most exciting new franchise opportunity! Amber became a massage therapist in 2004 and began Soma Massage Therapy in 2011. Through tenacity and determination she has literally built (and rebuilt, thanks to the pandemic!) a thriving massage therapy business and a promising new franchise brand. Amber graduated massage school in 2004, moved around the world, and finally settled in the Dallas area in 2009. Within a short time, she had more massage clients than her hands could handle in a day, and she was regularly booked for weeks, if not months, in advance. For a while, Amber would refer those clients to other therapists in the area who had more availability in their schedules, but it wasn't long before she realized that business would be more reliable and stable by referring those clients to another therapist “in house” instead. And an idea, and eventually a business, was born. Because of Amber's focus on “people first”, her small business took off quickly. Team members were loyal because of Amber's approach to hiring, training, and staffing – leading to very little staff turnover, which in turn cultivated a very loyal client base! In 2013, Amber moved her growing business out of her house and into a brick-and-mortar, where Soma more than doubled in size from 2 treatment rooms 4 – plus a satellite office located in a chiropractic clinic – in just a span of a few years. By winter of 2019, Amber began looking for a larger space where Soma could continue to grow, but the global pandemic caused by covid-19 put those plans on hold. During the pandemic, Soma was ordered to close. Many therapists resigned due to the various strains put on families during the pandemic, and by the time we reopened, Amber's staff of 13 therapists had dwindled to only four people, and she had to close her satellite location entirely. More determined than ever, Amber found a way to keep her business from closing permanently, and through tenacity, focus, and creativity she was able to successfully rebuild her business only 14 months after initially closing: opening in a new location with 7 treatment rooms, a current staff of 24 massage therapists and 4 front desk staff members, and gross revenues exceeding $1,000,000 annually. Soma Massage Therapy has consistently won awards year after year and Amber is incredibly proud of the reputation Soma has as being a people-first business. Amber has learned that when she operates from a place of values, ethics, compassion, and respect, her business can withstand the test of time. Dr. John Price is a depth psychotherapist and co-founder of The Center for Healing Arts & Sciences. This conversation explores why men have 50% fewer friends than twenty years ago, the crisis of modern masculinity, shadow work, and John's concept of "sacred refusal" —honoring the adaptations that once saved us but now destroy us. We discuss why suffering is initiation not pathology, the absence of rites of passage, and how the things we find most uncomfortable often reveal our deepest truths. John turns the therapeutic lens on me throughout—a benign adversary calling out my own resistance to vulnerability. This is medicine for anyone feeling trapped by their current circumstances. Enjoy! RICHARD ASHWORTH is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking transformational work with the Ba Zi or Four Pillars of Destiny, otherwise misleadingly known as the Chinese Horoscope. We discuss the results of my personal Ba Zi reading and how it applies to my life past and present. It was an eye-opening and inspiring personal experience which led to us talking about spirituality, family of origin, trauma and our relationship to society, religion and politics. Richard's work has been highlighted many times in the media, but he is probably best known for introducing authentic Chinese Imperial Feng Shui to BBC TV's Housebusters and for his book The Feng Shui Diaries. He has worked with A-Listers such as Gillian Anderson of the X-Files (who said he "commands both confidence and awe") and professionals like Britain's favourite Interior Designer, Kelly Hoppen (see link below). He has been the subject of the Sunday Times feature 'A Life in the Day', His Diaries, which are available free from this website, appear on the site of the Feng Shui Society. In the summer of 2010, he was on Big Brother's Little Brother to give his view of the Big Brother houses over the years, which he described as "the dark side of feng shui." After suffering for years with strange medical conditions, BRAD PITZELE was diagnosed with autoimmune arthritis in 2010 and malignant melanoma in 2014. Concerned that his treatments increased cancer risk, he began searching for a safer, more holistic path. Further testing revealed he also had Lyme disease and Bartonella. As his condition worsened—with debilitating fatigue, brain fog, and mobility loss—Brad sought alternatives. In 2016, his doctor recommended hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) or exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT).Brad chose EWOT, but dissatisfied with what was on the market, he decided to build his own system. The results were transformative. Within a year, his strength, clarity, and energy returned. Seeing the improvement, Brad's doctor asked if he could make EWOT systems for others. That moment sparked the creation of One Thousand Roads, founded on the belief that healing should be effective, safe, and accessible. Today, Brad empowers others by sharing his firsthand experience with chronic illness and recovery. He helps people understand how EWOT works, why it can support healing from conditions such as Lyme disease, cancer, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune diseases, and how to integrate it safely and affordably into their wellness journey. In this moving conversation, yoga teacher and activist Sasha Sigel shares her remarkable journey from theater student to dedicated advocate for reproductive rights and queer community building. Her story illustrates how a simple suggestion from a professor about feeling "ungrounded" led her to discover yoga's transformative power, ultimately shaping her life's mission of combining spiritual practice with social justice work. Through her work as an abortion doula and founder of Be Queer Now, Sasha demonstrates the profound impact of creating inclusive, accessible spaces for healing and community support. Her approach to reproductive healthcare is particularly touching, as she works tirelessly to destigmatize abortion care while providing compassionate support to those in need. As she powerfully states, "We have the potential to make this not a traumatic experience... the stigma is all being placed from the outside." Perhaps most inspiring is Sasha's candid discussion about navigating the emotional challenges of activism in today's political climate. She openly shares her struggles with feeling overwhelmed and sometimes numb in the face of constant attacks on reproductive rights and queer communities. Yet, through her daily meditation practice and by embracing emotions like anger as tools for change, she offers a powerful example of sustainable activism. Her perspective on anger is particularly enlightening, as she reminds us that "Anger can be incredibly helpful and useful, that it points to something is not right, something is being threatened that we care about." 3 state agencies are responsible for taking and investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Those agencies are the Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), the Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), and the Department of Children and Families (DCF). These agencies may refer alleged perpetrators to 3 state licensure boards: the Board of Healing Arts, the Board of Nursing, and the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. The state's process for investigating allegations and identifying perpetrators is complicated and fragmented. State law is also unclear about agencies' responsibilities. We found KDADS and DCF keep registries of perpetrators, but KDHE does not. KDHE doesn't investigate allegations of ANE because KDHE officials believe they lack the authority to do so. We also identified issues with how agencies refer allegations to each other. These issues suggest not all suspected perpetrators get investigated and that agencies' registries may be incomplete.
