August 24, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 13 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing several key things that Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy had to say during morning media session. The Steelers are planning to have rookie OT Max Iheanachor practice on Monday, so we discuss the possibility of him making his debut Thursday night in the team's preseason finale. McCarthy also said that DB Jalen Ramsey is set to practice on Monday as he is being removed from the Active/PUP list. We also pass along the seemingly good health of several other players that have been dealing with injuries coming out of the weekend. On Monday, McCarthy refused to confirm that QB Will Howard will definitely make the 53-man roster this year, so Alex and I discuss that tidbit. We start that off by discussing the two interceptions that Howard threw against the Jets and the role that WR Roman Wilson seemingly played in both of them. We also discuss the mistakes that Howard seemed to make on both of those interceptions. Alex and I spend a lot of time talking about the new Benton deal and we speculate what the cash flow might look like through for the contract through the 2027 season and how that amount might be the best way to judge the quality of the signing. We also look back at how the extensions signed earlier in the offseason by OLB Nick Herbig and TE Darnell Washington might compare from a cash flow versus new money average perspective. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I start by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers bringing ILB Elandon Roberts back on a one-year contract. We discuss how he possibly fits on defense moving forward. The Steelers placed DL Logan Lee on the Reserve/Injured list a few days ago, so Alex and I go over what his future looks like. We also pass along the news that OL Lorenzo Thompson has been waived from IR with an injury settlement. The Steelers won their 2026 preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night so Alex I get right into our full recap of that game. We start our game recap by talking about the play of all three quarterbacks, Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and rookie Drew Allar. We spend a lot of time looking at the play Thursday night of Howard and Allar as it was the first preseason action for both. After talking extensively about the quarterback play against the Packers, Alex and I then proceed to go position group by position group when it comes to the Thursday night game.
