On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, the Post-Gazette's Adam Bittner and Christopher Carter discuss DK Metcalf's upside within the Steelers' offensive in 2026. How much will the star WR benefit from the return of Aaron Rodgers at QB and the arrival of offensively focused head coach Mike McCarthy? Will defenses be able to focus on him less than they did in 2025 because of Michael Pittman Jr. and Germie Bernard joining the receivers room? And what are reasonable totals to expect from him alongside other receiving threats including Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, Roman Wilson, Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle? Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders new DC Patrick Graham's plans for the safety group. How will he mimic the choices coach Mike Tomlin and DC Teryl Austin made last season? And how could he differ in how he uses names like Jalen Ramsey, Jaquan Brisker, DeShon Elliott and Darnell Savage? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Chris reacted to a take from the morning show stating the Steelers have the best overall roster in the AFC North, evening indicating that others in the division don't want to see Aaron Rodgers quarterbacking this team. The Steelers got luck with injuries last season – Joe Burrow missed half of the year and Lamar Jackson was dinged up for the duration. The Steelers roster, outside of QB, may be the best in the North, but that position carries weight like a final exam. Are fans excited about another round of the Steelers with Aaron Rodgers? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray has a hard time saying the Steelers have the best roster in the division because he thinks that is owned by the Ravens. He thinks Baltimore has underachieved and had to deal with Lamar Jackson injuries. Are the Bengals better than the Steelers with a healthy Joe Burrow? Ray described Aaron Rodgers as ‘good' last year, but how confident can we be in him being better in 2026? Ray explained why he likes Rodgers instead of Malik Willis or Kyler Murray. Was the Mike McCarthy hire a way to lure Rodgers back? Ray is 95% sure Troy Fautanu is going to be the Steelers starting left tackle – calling him the best offensive lineman on the team and sharing that he isn't sold on when we see Broderick Jones. Is Dylan Cook going to hold off Max Iheanachor at right tackle? There's been a lot of praise for Patrick Graham so far.

May 20, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 138 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers signing a new player to their offseason roster in rookie UDFA CB Tamon Lynum. With the Steelers first OTA practices of 2026 now in the books, Alex and I discuss the several larger takeaways from the team's Monday session. We discuss the initial offensive line configurations, who played where and if there are any hard reads to make when it comes to that unit. We also make sure to discuss what OT Troy Fautanu had to say on Monday about hoping he gets to play more alongside OG Mason McCormick moving forward into 2026. Is it possible that the Steelers end up only keeping eight total offensive linemen on their initial 53-man roster this year? In an attempt to answer that question, Alex and look at the total number of offensive linemen that HC Mike McCarthy opened regular seasons with during his four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. We discuss how the ultimate health status of OT Broderick Jones might play into the number game and who might draw the short stick on the offensive line if only eight in total are kept out of the chute. Alex and I make sure to address the initial quarterback pecking order to start OTAs and whether that rotation will remain the same throughout OTAs and the start of training camp. We also address QB Drew Howard potentially getting a long look during the preseason as part of him starting at least one of those contests and coming off the bench for at least one other one. The Steelers' three new coordinators, Brian Angelichio, Patrick Graham, and Danny Crossman, all met the media on Tuesday, so Alex and I make sure to parse all of the key things each had to say. When it comes to Graham, specifically, Alex and I discuss the level of impact his addition could have on the Steelers' 2026 season when it comes to the team potentially just more than a playoff team that could be one-and-done in the postseason like last season. Besides Fautanu, several other players met the media on Monday, so Alex and I make sure to cover a few additional talking points that several provided us. This 101-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Why does Dean feel like he'll be a good fit within new DC Patrick Graham's system alongside names like Joey Porter Jr., Jalen Ramsey and Jaquan Brisker? In this clip from the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bitner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo to react to the Seattle Seahawks' victory in the Super Bowl. Did Sam Darnold show that GM Omar Khan and new coach Mike McCarthy can win big with free agent QBs? Could 2026 free agents like Daniel Jones, Zach Wilson, Malik Willis or Mitch Trubisky repeat Darnold's success? Or was he a unique option for Seattle last offseason? And how should Darnold's victory impact the view the Steelers should have of in-house options like Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Later, the guys react to the way Seattle won with elite defense and a strong running game. Can McCarthy and new coordinators Patrick Graham and Brian Angelichio mimic that success? Why haven't the Steelers been able to play great defense consistently under former coach Mike Tomlin with top talents like T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward and Jalen Ramsey on the roster? Does GM Omar Khan need to been up his secondary around Joey Porter Jr. with more elite players like Devon Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori? And are Jaylen Warren, Kenneth Gainwell and/or Kaleb Johnson capable of a big-game performance like we saw from the Seahawks' Kenneth Walker III? Our duo tackles those questions and more. January 30, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 87 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the latest news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers and their rebuilt coaching staff that is being assembled under new HC Mike McCarthy. While none of the coaching staff hires have been made official by the team, several seem destined to happen at this point. Alex and I go over the news concerning the hirings or interviews of Lunda Wells, Scott Tolzien, Ramon Chinyoung, Adam Henry, James Campen, Jahri Evans, Jason Simmons, and Patrick Graham, who will reportedly be the team's new defensive coordinator. Alex and I also address the news that the Steelers will reportedly retain Tom Arth, Scott McCurley, and Gerald Alexander from the 2025 coaching staff. We move on to discuss the future of QB Aaron Rodgers related to numerous members of the reported new coaching staff in Pittsburgh. We also address the numerous links back to McCarthy when it comes to his perceived staff hirings as of Friday morning. With Graham set to become the Steelers' new defensive coordinator, Alex and I do a deep dive into his coaching career. We talk a lot about his defensive roots, his schemes, his tendencies and much more. We go over his fit in Pittsburgh and his most recent job as the DC with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Steelers have a new wide receiver on their roster as of Thursday, so Alex and I quickly go over the signing of WR A. T. Perry and what traits he brings to Pittsburgh. Steelers AGM Andy Weidl did not get the general manager job with the Atlanta Falcons, so we discuss that bit of news during this show. McCarthy was a guest on WDVE Radio on Friday morning, so Alex and I discuss the main talking points that came out of that 15-minute interview. This 107-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we make sure to read and answer a few emails we have received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. On the Friday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Brian Batko analyze the composition of new coach Mike McCarthy's staff so far. Is McCarthy leaning too hard into prior relationships with assistants like James Campen, Scott McCurley, Ramon Chinyoung and others? Or holdovers from Mike Tomlin's staff including Gerald Alexander and Tom Arth? Or should fans trust the ways McCarthy has compiled staffs in the past as he adds names like Patrick Graham at DC; Adam Henry at receivers coach and Jason Simmons as a defensive assistant? Our duo tackles those questions, then Chris gives his insight on his media scrum this week with Scott Tolzien, a reported candidate to take the role of offensive coordinator. On the Wednesday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Brian Batko to analyze the next moves in front of new coach Mike McCarthy now that he's been introduced. Can anyone from outside the Mike Tomlin and Bill Cowher coaching tree really coach the defense the same way after McCarthy's commitment to keep the 3-4 scheme in place for now? Does that decision open the door for Teryl Austin to return? Or will he give way to reported candidates including Jason Simmons and Patrick Graham as the franchise looks to get more from a unit led by names like Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter Jr.? Our duo tackles those questions, then pivots to offense. Will McCarthy cultivate a larger staff that Tomlin did under coordinators including Arthur Smith and Matt Canada? Opening space for younger coaches to rise through the ranks? Or will he try to keep the circle tight? Will he choose an OC from his own coaching tree, which includes reported candidates like Scott Tolzien and Lunda Wells? Or could he look outside at a name like Nate Scheelhaase, should the Browns decide not to target him in their own coaching search? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
