Check out our 2025 RENEW Gathering Digital Access Pass: https://reallifetheologypodcast.supercast.com/ Today's episode will help us understand the theological and social perspectives surrounding the inclusion and fear experienced by African Americans in the context of Christian unity. Orpheus. Heyward discusses the importance of theological foundations, focusing on the Great Commission and the inclusivity of the Gospel for all ethnic groups. It highlights the biblical story of Peter's vision in Acts 10, emphasizing God's acceptance of ethnic diversity. Orpheus. Heyward addresses the historical trauma faced by African Americans, particularly in the context of religious exclusion and the formation of the black church. The need for understanding and addressing these historical wounds is stressed, particularly within predominantly Caucasian religious spaces. The speaker shares personal experiences and suggests open dialogue and empathy as key steps towards racial unity and reconciliation within the Christian community. Examples include discussions on the Trayvon Martin and George Floyd incidents and the importance of including African American narratives in the larger Christian history. The message concludes with a call for authentic inclusion, collaboration on the mission of God, and the significance of understanding historical pain to create a more inclusive and unified Christian community.

What other wideouts will make the roster? -Will Connor Heyward make the team as a fourth tight end alongside Jonnu Smith, Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington? -Which offensive linemen will join starters including Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier?
August 20, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 13 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the recent transactions made by the Pittsburgh Steelers that included the team parting ways with rookie undrafted free agent WR Roc Taylor. We go over why Taylor might have been jettisoned a few days ago. The Steelers had free agent WR Gabe Davis in for a second visit on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss him reportedly leaving Pittsburgh unsigned once again. We address how Davis would fit with the Steelers if he is ultimately signed and what a contract for him would look like. Ahead of the team's Thursday night preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers, Alex and I go over the health of the Steelers 91-man roster. We discuss a few players we are hoping to learn more about when it comes to their injuries by the time the weekend is over. Steelers DT Cameron Heyward was back in team drills on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss that big news as the team prepares for their final preseason game. We also talk about how Heyward, OLB T.J. Watt, QB Aaron Rodgers, and WR DK Metcalf are all scheduled to sit out Thursday night against the Panthers. Will the Steelers play CB Jalen Ramsey, CB Darius Slay, CB Joey Porter Jr., and S DeShon Elliott against the Panthers? Steelers HC Mike Tomlin sure made it sound like they all would during his Tuesday press conference. Alex and I discuss whether Tomlin will change his mind when it comes to those four players by the time kickoff rolls around. Alex and I also recap the few other minor things that Tomlin said on Tuesday. With the final preseason game now on tap, Alex and I look at a few players worth watching Thursday night when it comes to potential spots on the 53-man roster not deemed 100 percent secure. As part of this discussion, Alex and I go down a rabbit hole when it comes to the punter battle the Steelers need to conclude soon. Later in this show, Alex and I roll through our updated 53-man roster predictions with two preseason games now in the books. We discuss how there only seems to be a few questions regarding the initial roster right now and how players needing to go to Reserve/Injured as designated-to-return could shape a few final decisions. We also discuss how WR Scotty Miller might be used as a final roster manipulation piece should the need arise and why. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer a few questions from listeners at the end of this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Steelers insider Mark Kaboly of The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Cam Heyward still has two weeks to "hold-in" for a new deal. Mark thinks Heyward underestimated the backlash he would receive. Aaron Rodgers threw subtle shade at Cam Heyward and his contract.
Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac spend some time with national NFL writer for NFL Media & NFL.com Eric Edholm! Ali, Mike, Beau, and Eric discuss if anything has stood out to Eric so far this preseason, how Eric feels about the Falcons this season, how Eric thinks the national media views Falcons' wide receiver Drake London among the rest of the premier wide receivers in the NFL, which rookies Eric thinks will take the NFL by storm this season, how Eric thinks the Cam Heyward contract situation is going to play out between Heyward and the Pittsburgh Steelers, how Eric thinks the Micah Parsons contract situation is going to play out between Parsons, Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones, and the Cowboys, and if Eric thinks it's a bad sign that the New Orleans Saints still haven't named a starting quarterback yet.
HR3 - Falcons need defensive investments to pay off if they're going to make playoffs In hour three Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac let listeners call in and talk about which current Falcon they would want to have with them if they were on the TV show The Amazing Race, if they have a favorite radio memory, and if NFL.com writers Ali Bhanpuri's and Adam Rank's Falcons' record predictions were crazy or not in the Wake Up Call! Then, Ali, Mike, and Beau give their final thoughts on what Atlanta Falcons players will be fighting for those final few roster spots on the Falcons' 53-man roster during Atlanta's final preseason game on Friday versus the Dallas Cowboys, talk about if they think the kicker job has been won by Younghoe Koo already, and explain why they think Koo will likely be the Falcons' kicker this year, but maybe not in 2026. The Morning Shift crew also dives into the life of Beau “Squidbilly” Morgan in The Life of Squid. Finally, Ali, Mike, and Beau close out hour three by spending some time with national NFL writer for NFL Media & NFL.com Eric Edholm!
In this hour, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson react to an apology Steelers' DL Cam Heyward made to QB Aaron Rodgers. Also, is Rodgers actually going to retire after this season? August 20, 2025, 7:00 Hour
Cam Heyward practiced yesterday, but did it mean anything? Was it a sign to the team that he is back? Is it winning him back any fans? The guys wondered if the player and team were any closer to a deal. We looked at a list of other notable DTs and how well they were playing, if at all, at Cam's age. 93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Gabe Davis was in and out of Pittsburgh for a second time without a deal and he then visited the Bills, his former team, today. Jeff expects the Steelers to keep exploring the WR market. Is Robert Woods safe to make the roster? The guys asked Jeff if he thinks the Steelers could have a ‘special' connection between Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf this season. Did the starting unit show enough in training camp to make you feel good about Rodgers not playing at all in the preseason? Poni had Jeff react to the report that Dalton Risner was scheduled to visit the Steelers. Jeff talked about the leadership of Rodgers and the differences he has noticed between him and other Steelers QBs since Ben Roethlisberger. Will the middle of the field be used? Jeff doesn't think Cam Heyward returning to practice is a sign that he caved in this negotiation process. Judge Donny.
Ben Roethlisberger thinks that Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf could potentially be special. Poni points out that Ben wanted Mitch Trubisky to be the guy over both Rudolph and Pickett. Ben also said afterwards that Pickett could be great. Poni says that 1100 yards and 8 touchdowns for DK Metcalf would not be a special season. Former MLB pitcher Matt Clement joined the show. Matt says that his call-up was similar to that of Bubba Chandler today, however that Padres team that called him up was a World Series team, and not a last place team. Clement says that he struggled his last few months in Triple A, just like Chandler did. He also says that moving from a starter to a bullpen arm is a big adjustment. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike says that he thinks Rodgers should be playing in the preseason due to the hostile environment week 1 at his former home. He also says that this is just part of the Aaron Rodgers experience. Mike says it was smart for Heyward to start practicing so that he can avoid injury in the regular season.

Post-Gazette insiders Brian Batko and Ray Fittipaldo recap Tuesday's Steelers practice at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side. What should we make of All-Pro defensive lineman and team captain Cam Heyward returning to practice amid news of a contract dispute? What went into coach Mike Tomlin's decision to NOT play Heyward, T.J. Watt, DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers in the final preseason game Thursday against the Carolina Panthers? Will Rodgers struggle to adjust when the regular season comes because he hasn't thrown in a game with his group of wide receivers including Metcalf, Roman Wilson and the injured Calvin Austin III? Besides that group of four, Tomlin said all other players are in consideration to play. Should he give his new-look secondary some run together and give new faces like Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay Jr. time to mesh with Joey Porter Jr.? Our duo tackles those questions and more.
Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, we discuss injury updates, update about Gabe Davis' status following him leaving without a contract yet again, talk about who Tomlin has already ruled out for Thursday and who else we might see not get any preseason action, and talk about Cam Heyward returning to being a full participant in the team's practice. Hour 1 with Joe Starkey: Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay went on Cam Heyward's podcast and said it's time for Omar Khan to take care of Heyward. The Steelers offense has struggled the last five years replacing Ben Roethlisberger; the defense needs to step up.
Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay went on Cam Heyward's podcast and said it's time for Omar Khan to take care of Heyward. Ramsey said the Steelers took care of him and his value and he wants to see the same with Cam. Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans were reportedly so good against the Steelers in the joint practice that they won't play Saturday.
The Steelers will play their only home preseason game tomorrow night and Poni is wondering how fans will treat Cam Heyward once he runs out of the tunnel. Would it be outlandish for people to boo? Poni finds it odd that a player that has been an example of great Steelers football for 15 years is all of the sudden a jackass.

Poni finds it odd that a player that has been an example of great Steelers football for 15 years is all of the sudden a jackass. How will fans treat Cam Heyward tomorrow night? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi is surprised the Cam Heyward and Chris Boswell stories popped up so late into the offseason. Aditi isn't too entrenched in the situation, so she didn't want to comment too much on it. Poni pointed out how the Steelers don't put incentives into contracts. Poni and Aditi pondered if Omar Khan would give an honest answer about the situation if they had him on the air right now. Aditi has Eagles-Browns this weekend, so she talked about the injury to Shedeur Sanders after a terrific preseason debut. Where will Kenny Pickett be on the Browns depth chart when the season starts?
Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark says that everybody has asked for a raise before, so it is hard to blame Cam Heyward. Mark says that after this contract, the Steelers shouldn't want to sign Cam Heyward for more than a year. Mark didn't like the interview with Jake “the snake” Roberts. Mark says Heyward is more important to the Steelers than Boswell is. More w/ Mark – Mark says that Calvin Austin's injury is somewhat worrisome. Mark thinks that the Steelers will add another receiver before the beginning of the season, but doesn't think it will be Odell. Mark says that Roman Wilson stood out during training camp. He says that if all receivers were healthy, Austin would be the 2. Mark also says that Darnell Washington will never be the Steelers' best tight end. More w/ Mark – Mark says that the joint practice with the Bucs was hard to cover because there was so much going on at once. Mark praises Kaleb Johnson and says not to worry about him. Mark says he'd take Aaron Rodgers over Mason Rudolph. He also says that DK Metcalf is the Steelers' best receiver since Antonio Brown.
Mark talks about Cam, and asks a question to Tommy Radio about the Heyward on the roster. They talk some Bucco's as well.

Cam Heyward has already been paid a large roster bonus and has some leverage against the Steelers. Heyward stated he'll sit out of games, but Mike doesn't think he'll be willing to do that. Mike thinks Heyward's camp leaked the news to Adam Schefter.
A look inside Gerry Dulac's chat. Dulac doesn't think this is a good look for Cam Heyward. This was practically a one-year deal in Joe's mind. We think the Steelers leaked this, especially because of how Heyward said he has family in Cleveland last year and Cam had to know the public wouldn't fully support him.
Hour 3 with Joe Starkey: Cam Heyward's reps didn't do a great job with this last year and now Heyward has been paid, but isn't practicing and working. We think the Steelers leaked this, especially because of how Heyward said he has family in Cleveland last year and Cam had to know the public wouldn't fully support him. Kaleb Johnson hasn't shown much burst and we are concerned he could be like Najee.
Hour 2 with Joe Starkey: Cam Heyward has already been paid a large roster bonus and has some leverage against the Steelers. Doug Whaley thinks Cam Heyward's reps didn't do a good enough job of working on Cam's contract. Micah Parsons seems miserable at Cowboys practice. Not many changes on the Steelers depth chart.
In this hour, Adam Crowley, Dorin Dickerson and Pat Bostick discuss whether the Steelers should prioritize a new contract with DL Cam Heyward or K Chris Boswell. Also, should the Steelers consider trading Cam Heyward? August 14, 2025, 7:00 Hour
Pro wrestling Hall of Famer Jake ‘the Snake' Roberts joined the show. Jake told the guys what he loves most about coming back to Pittsburgh – he will be in town Saturday night for the Riverhounds game. He said Jim Duggan and The Undertaker are two guys he usually he road to different towns with. Jake told an infamous Haku story, where he bit a guy's nose off. Jake said he got into the snake gimmick because he was a big fan of Ken Stabler. Oddly enough, Roberts is terrified of snakes. Jake was part of the iconic Austin 3:16 promo, losing to Steve Austin in the King of the Ring final in 1996. He had an insane Andre the Giant story, where the big man drank 2 cases of beer in a 2-hour car ride. Jake said he hated the Steelers in the 1970's and Lynn Swann was his least favorite. The guys asked Jake to reflect on the life and career of Hulk Hogan. Jake shared a story that he was in a program with Hogan, but the fans started turning on the Hulkster, so the idea got squashed. Roberts said he had a knack for putting promos together and told us his strategy of putting some notes down. Jake talked about his famous DDT finishing move and how it has become more of a transition move in today's wrestling. Jake told the guys a few of his favorite guys to work with. What was the worst injury Jake suffered in the ring? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray gave his takeaways from the joint practice today with the Buccaneers. How much pad crunching did we get? Ray said Vita Vea and Zach Frazier was a fun matchup. There was a near skirmish on a punt. Which team got the most out of this? The guys asked Ray about what we should expect to see from Kaleb Johnson in the second preseason game after an underwhelming first game. Where are things at with the Cam Heyward negotiations? Has Cam tarnished his legacy? Will the Steelers add a WR before we reach Week 1? Ray said there is an argument to be made that Chris Boswell is as impactful as Heyward. Total Request Thursday.

We haven't heard from Omar Khan yet about the Cam Heyward negotiations. Andy Weidl told the media he is staying out of it and letting those guys do their thing. We had some laughs over a few questions in the Dulac mailbag, including a shot at a former intern. August 13, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 9 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the overall health of the Pittsburgh Steelers now that their 2025 training camp practices at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA are over with. We discuss Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers getting dinged during Tuesdays practice and more. Steelers DT Cameron Heyward finally addressed the media to talk about his contract situation a few days ago so Alex and I completely parse all that he had to say on that topic. We go over what it sounds like Cameron Heyward is waiting in terms of his contract being adjusted, what he might and might not get as an end result and the several types of pushbacks he has received concerning the topic. Would Cameron Heyward seriously consider missing games in 2025 due to his contract situation? We discuss that question and also go over several other questions related to his contract wants and how that has been handled by his side this offseason. Keeping with the Heyward theme, Alex and I discuss Steelers TE Connor Heyward in this show. We talk about how safe his spot on the 53-man roster seems to be right now and if the Steelers should look outside the organization for a possibly upgrade to be their fourth tight end. Speaking of the tight end position, Alex and I discuss an old breakdown that former New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick had when it comes to what he looked for in his tight ends and the roles for each on the depth chart. That makes for a fun conversation when applying to the Steelers current group of tight ends. We also go over Belichick's old thoughts on offense and other offensive position groups. With the all-22 tape from the Steelers first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars now fully digested by both of us, Alex and I recap the good, bad, ugly, and other notable things that we observed. We address and review the individual play of several Steelers players from Saturday night as part of our lengthy postgame breakdown of the tape. The Pivot podcast recently released training camp interviews with Steelers HC Mike Tomlin and new CB Jalen Ramsey that certainly got our full attention. We discuss both interviews and especially Ramsey's in depth. I explain why the Ramsey interview really has me even more fired up when it comes to the impact he can make on defense for the 2025 season and beyond. This 140-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer several email questions we received from listeners of the show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Pirates lost 14-0 and were embarrassed by the Milwaukee Brewers. Brewers GM Matt Arnold was a finalist for the Pirates GM spot and is thriving with Milwaukee. Doug Whaley thinks Cam' Heyward's representatives screwed this up. Will Heyward sit regular season games?
Hour 1 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: The Pirates lost 14-0 and were completely embarrassed by the Milwaukee Brewers. Adam Schefter pointed to the Steelers paying other new stars, so Cam Heyward believes he deserves to be paid more. He doesn't see a deal coming up soon. Joe put out a Twitter poll and found over 50% of Steelers fans want to trade Heyward with these contract talks.
Hour 3 with Bob Pompeani and Joe Starkey: Dan thinks the Bucs owner cares about his legacy and his legacy will be defined on what they do with Paul Skenes. Mark doesn't think Cam Heyward plans on missing games. Kaboly believes the Steelers and Heyward will reach an agreement. Kaboly thinks Mike Tomlin is in love with this defense.
Mark doesn't think Cam Heyward plans on missing games. Kaboly believes the Steelers and Heyward will reach an agreement. Kaboly thinks Mike Tomlin is in love with this defense. Mark thinks if everything works well, the Steelers defense can be in the discussion with the 2008 and 2010 defense.
In this hour, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson react to the latest reports surrounding Cam Heyward's contract dispute with the Steelers. Also, can you believe this is the top story about the Steelers on NFL.com right now? And how about the improvement from OL Broderick Jones! August 13, 2025, 7:00 Hour
In this hour, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson wonder how much of a hit Cam Heyward's reputation is going to take the longer he decides to hold in with the Steelers. Also, Ray Fittipaldo from The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pirates' broadcaster John Wehner each come on The Fan Hotline. August 13, 2025, 8:00 Hour
Ray Fittipaldo from The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette comes on The Fan Hotline to address the latest reports involving Cam Heyward's contract dispute with the Steelers. Also, what's all the buzz about the team's defense?
Poni says that Chris Boswell and Cam Heyward are both the best of the best at their position. Mullsy thinks that Chris Boswell is more likely to continue his elite performance than Cam Heyward is. Poni mentions that kickers are far less important than defensive linemen. Poni says he'll donate $5 to charity every time someone catches him chewing on his pen. A caller thinks there's no way Chris Boswell will get any more money this year. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike says that Heyward shouldn't have signed the contract last year if he wanted to renegotiate his deal after a good season. He also says that Cam would get fined if he were to sit out games this year. Mike says that the Steelers can definitely afford to give Heyward a raise. If Heyward were to retire, the Steelers would be able to get the roster bonus back from him. Mike also says that he has never seen a kicker hold out. Florio says that the Steelers made up rules on contracts are dumb.
ESPN has taken an interesting route to the Cam Heyward discussion. Why didn't Heyward take a ‘prove it' deal last year? Poni doesn't think anything is solved soon and thinks the crowd reaction on Saturday night will be interesting. We also had a gripe with the Steelers countdown, sighting Artie Burns as a ‘fan favorite.' Is Kraig at fault? Former MLB pitcher Matt Clement joined the show. We reacted to the Pirates-Brewers series, which resulted in a sweep. How do the Brewers keep doing it? Matt talked about the culture created in Milwaukee as the Brewers are about to make the playoffs for the 7th time in 8 seasons. Matt said it all starts with a star and building great, in-house talent. He also lauded the signings and trades made to make the team in Milwaukee what it is. Matt talked about the wear and tear of the mind that could happen as a starting pitcher. The guys asked Matt about Oneil Cruz going downhill since the All Star Break. Bucco Minute – The Pirates were swept by the Brewers in Milwaukee.
A new wrinkle to the ongoing Cam Heyward contract saga involves the possibility of him missing regular season games. Poni, warning folks to take his words with a grain of salt, said he's heard from more than one person that Cam is really considering sitting out meaningful football. In the court of public opinion, fans have already turned on Cam, for the most part. It's getting hard to blame the fans for how they are feeling right now.

Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise gives his thoughts on the Cam Heyward contract dispute with the Steelers live around 5 p.m. Eastern. Does Heyward really have leverage after the moves GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin made to solidify the defensive line this offseason? From drafting Derrick Harmon and Yahya Black to signing free agents like Daniel Ekuale, does the team have the necessary depth should Heyward decide to sit out regular season games? And how much worse would DC Teryl Austin's unit be overall without Heyward but with names like T.J. Watt, Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr., Darius Slay Jr., Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson? Paul tackles those questions and more.

In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the recent transactions made by the Pittsburgh Steelers that include a new quarterback and offensive lineman being signed on Thursday. We go over the corresponding moves to those new signings and also discuss how a few more transactions might be on the way ahead of Saturday night. On Thursday, Steelers DT Cameron Heyward and K Chris Boswell both dominated the team's headlines due to their contract situations ahead of the 2025 regular season getting underway. Alex and I spend a lot of time in this show discussing why this contract news with both Heyward and Boswell has surfaced at this point of the offseason and what the options are for potentially appeasing both players. We talk about what could and likely will happen with both Heyward and Boswell prior to the regular season starting and how both players could still potentially be back in the same place a year from now when it comes to each's 2026 earnings. We make sure to discuss the pushbacks that a lot of fans seem to have when it comes to both players and specifically when it comes to Heyward. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin met with the media on Thursday to discuss the upcoming preseason game on Saturday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Alex and I go over the extensive list of players that Tomlin said won't play Saturday night and why. We also go over a few things that Tomlin had to say on Thursday about a few younger Steelers players such RB Kaleb Johnson, WR Roman Wilson, and ILB Payton Wilson. Alex and I then preview the Saturday night road preseason game against the Jaguars when it comes to all three phases. We discuss the likely staring units, playing time and even attempt to take a stab at the quarterback rotation used and playing time. We make sure to go over some of the key things we'll both be looking for against the Jaguars. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss what Steelers president Art Rooney II recently said about the team's travel plans for the Week 4 road game in Dublin, Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings. August 6, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 6 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, which was recorded late Tuersday night, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the recent hand injury suffered by Pittsburgh Steelers rookie QB Will Howard. We discuss the probability that Howard will miss all of the preseason and how the team might add another quarterback to the roster on Wednesday because of that. After wallowing in the Howard injury news quite a bit. Alex and I then discuss the health of the rest of the roster heading into Wednesday's training camp practice. We also go over other roster-related news that includes one recent transaction that the Steelers made. The Steelers released their first depth chart of the 2025 offseason on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over what is right and wrong with it ahead of the team's first preseason game on Saturday night. Alex and I look ahead a little bit to the first preseason game on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars and that includes us going over training camp performances of several players on the roster. HC Mike Tomlin spoke to the media after the team's Tuesday training camp practice, so we recap that short press conference during this show. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss Steelers OLB T.J. Watt wanting to switch sides more in 2025 and if DT Cameron Heyward should think about doing the same.
