Steve said Mitch Trubisky isn't ranked that low according to PFF, in fact he's higher than guys like Justin Herbert and Russell Wilson. He went through where some of the other position groups are grading out. He said George Pickens has been a true boom or bust player so far. Steve said the offensive line has held up pretty well and certainly better than expected. Steve said Najee Harris is just slightly higher than Jaylen Warren and it could all be because of the fumble in last week's game. Steve said the QB for the Jets is a toss up, but he'd say Zach Wilson is the more dangerous player at this point to an opposing defense.

Watt on injured reserve Thursday, but their defense along with Cam Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick and several other key players matchup well wit the New England Patriots' offense in the week two showdown. The Patriots' offensive line could be worse than the Cincinnati Bengals' and that could open up big opportunities for more sacks by Alex Highsmith, Heyward, Larry Ogunjobi and Malik Reed. Brief summary of episode:Jonathon Heyward is forging a career as one of the most exciting conductors on the international scene. He currently serves as Music Director Designate of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and will begin his five-year contract in the 2023-24 season. Jonathon's selection was unanimous from the Baltimore Symphony Music Director Search Committee, comprised of BSO musicians, staff, and community members. In March 2022, Jonathon made his debut with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in three performances that included the first-ever performance of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 15. Quickly re-engaged, he returned in April to lead a Benefit Concert for Ukraine at the Meyerhoff.Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Jonathon began his musical training as a cellist at the age of ten and started conducting while still at school. He studied conducting at the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he became assistant conductor of the prestigious institution's opera department and of the Boston Opera Collaborative, and received postgraduate lessons from Sian Edwards at London's Royal Academy of Music. Before leaving the Academy, he was appointed assistant conductor of the Hallé Orchestra, where he was mentored by Sir Mark Elder, and became Music Director of the Hallé Youth Orchestra. His debut with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain at the 2021 BBC Proms earned five-star reviews and was hailed by British newspaper The Guardian as ‘an unforgettable showcase of high-energy collaboration'.Jonathon's commitment to education and community outreach work deepened during his three years with the Hallé and has flourished since he arrived in post as Chief Conductor of the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie in January 2021. He is equally committed to including new music within his imaginative concert programmes. Those qualities were evident in his Baltimore Symphony Orchestra debut bill, which comprised Hannah Kendall's The Spark Catchers, Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto and the first ever BSO outing for Shostakovich's Fifteenth Symphony. The Truth In This ArtThe Truth In This Art is a podcast interview series supporting vibrancy and development of Baltimore & beyond's arts and culture. To find more amazing stories from the artist and entrepreneurial scenes in & around Baltimore, check out my episode directory. Stay in TouchNewsletter sign-upSupport my podcastShareable link to episode ★ Support this podcast ★

Cam Heyward looks to lead a new crew into training camp with Larry Ogunjobi, Tyson Alualu, DeMarvin Leal, Chris Wormley and Isaiahh Loudermilk as the biggest names. If the starters can reinstate a stout run defense while doubling as a pass rush group, and the backups must provide adequate spell snaps to keep Heyward and Ogunjobi fresh for fourth quarters. Chris Carter, NFL and NCAAF analyst, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Jenna Harner of WPXI-TV. Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward has made it clear lately on his new podcast Not Just Football that he's not happy with ESPN's ranking that placed him as the NFL's No. 5 defensive tackle. There's been a lot of outlets who've ranked Heyward lower than he believes he should be in the NFL after being First Team All-Pro with 10 sacks in 2021. That fires up Heyward, and in turn, the rest of the Steelers defense. Heyward also discussed how the Steelers' quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky will need to be ready to face real pressure from the Steelers' defense in training camp practice. If Heyward, T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith and company can provide good pressure in practices, it will help the offensive line and the new quarterbacks acclimate to the Steelers' system faster and be more ready to lead the team in the regular season. Chris Carter, NFL and NCAAF analyst, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Tony Serino of AFC North Talk. The Pittsburgh Steelers might have a secret weapon on their hands in the form of a solid tight end group. Pat Freiermuth burst onto the scene last year as one of the most promising rookie tight ends of his class, but Zach Gentry has taken significant strides as a No. 2 tight end as well. How much can offensive coordinator Matt Canada work both into an offense around new quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett? And will Heyward be part of the plans as well? Also, a caller asks about the lasting impact of Mike Munchak as an offensive line coach. Chris Carter and Tony Serino review Munchak's work with Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and the 2010s offensive line stars. What does Pat Meyer need as the Steelers' new offensive line coach to get a strong group from James Daniels, Kevin Dotson, Mason Cole, Chukwuma Okorafor, Dan Moore Jr. and Kendrick Green? Laura and Todd sit down with the awe-inspiring Actress Susan Heyward to discuss power dynamics, racism, typecasting and religious trauma. In improvisational theater, ‘status' refers to the power dynamics at play in a relationship between two characters. Sometimes, however, those power dynamics spill over into the real world, particularly for Black women actors. Susan who is a phenomenal actress, probably best known for her role as Tamika Ward in the hit Netflix comedy-drama series, Orange Is the New Black. She also starred in the PlayStation Network original series, Powers, and the HBO period drama, Vinyl. On stage, Susan made her Broadway debut in the 2013 production of The Trip to Bountiful alongside Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams, and Cuba Gooding Jr. and, in 2018 and 2019, she played Rose Granger-Weasley in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. In this episode, Susan shares the definition of ‘misogynoir', a term used to describe the specific prejudice directed at Black women, and how she has seen it play out in her personal life and her career. She explains how tapping into an ‘as if' reality as an actor, breaking free from her instinct to code-switch, and making a commitment to healing from her trauma have helped her reclaim her power and why she believes that context and a deeper understanding of our shared trauma can facilitate collective healing. Trauma is all around us, but Susan believes that whatever we put our attention on will grow, which is why she encourages you to turn your attention toward healing today! Mark Rozzo's astute and engaging new book Everyone Thought We Were Crazy: Dennis Hopper, Brooke Heyward, and 1906s Los Angeles, published by Ecco Press, documents the lives of Hopper and Hayward in the heyday as New Hollywood's It couple but also paints a panoramic landscape of the Los Angeles scene in the Sixties.Rozzo poignantly captures the vivacity of the heady days in the early 1960s, just as the underground culture of the Beat Generation was about to explode into the mainstream counterculture of the latter part of the decade—the sex, drugs and rock ‘n' roll mantra was born in the late 1960s.Sixties Los Angeles was a new center of gravity in culture; there was a new consciousness, a West Coast symmetry between art, underground cinema, music and civil rights that had never happened before, and has never happened since. Hopper and Hayward were not only up-and-coming actors in the early 1960s, they were also cross-cultural connectors who brought together the best of underground Los Angeles art, music and politics, under one roof—literally—1712 N. Crescent Heights in the Hollywood Hills. This modest Spanish Colonial was the meeting ground, as Rozzo illustrates, for a who's who of that time: Jane Fonda, Andy Warhol, Joan Didion, Jasper Johns, Tina Turner, Ed Ruscha, The Byrds and the Black Panthers.Their art collection, showcased at this house on Crescent Heights, as well as the house itself, is the backdrop of Everyone Thought We Were Crazy. Rozzo tells the story in a straight-forward, dual narrative, that helps fill in large parts of Brooke's story, which compared to Hopper's, hasn't been as well documented or explored in other books. Rozzo finds the right balance. As a decade-ending benchmark, Hopper's directorial debut Easy Rider became the emblematic proto-New Hollywood independent film, alongside Haskell Wexler's Medium Cool. These films help illustrate the promise and loss of that generation and that era. There isn't a happy ending in those films or in Hopper's marriage to Heyward, unfortunately—the couple divorced in 1969 just at Easy Rider was about to make cinematic history. After the divorce, Brooke eventually sold the house, broke up the art collection and moved back to New York, where she still resides. Hopper died in 2010.Rozzo's wide view of Los Angeles in the 1960s is essential reading for anyone interested in the unvarnished history of that period. Here's my conversation with Mark Rozzo discussing the life and times of Dennis Hopper and Brooke Hayward.Reading by Mark Rozzo.Music by Love.

Chris Carter, NFL and NCAAF analyst, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Merril Hoge took to the radio waves with criticism of linebacker Devin Bush. In doing so, Hoge called Robert Spillane the team's top inside linebacker, even over Myles Jack. Did he go too far? Looking at Bush's stats before his ACL injury show he does have the instincts to be a good linebacker, but he has to get back to playing at that level. Then it's time to take questions from Locked on Steelers listeners. What are the roles for Connor Heyward and Derek Watt, and are they competing with each other? What's the balance of run and pass plays that Matt Canada will call as an offensive coordinator? How bad would the Steelers have to get for Art Rooney II to even consider firing Mike Tomlin?
