This weeks intro, we dive into what surfing gives us spiritually , mentally and physically …. AND - that we must try and find it from other areas of our lives too so we aren't too reliant on it for our wellbeing. Will goes onto share insights about fear and how it shapes our surfing lives on land around lifestyle / career / family choices as well as in the ocean (steeper / bigger waves , trying to not look like a kook in front of the locals). Liam then shares his thoughts on intuition in the surfing life - how powerful a tool it can be for when to say yes and when to say no. He goes onto talk about how much intelligence there is in the heart vs the head and how to access more of your true self. In mind body stoke, Will talks about how powerful his recent fasting has been for surf performance - for reducing knee pain and clearing old junk out of the guts leading to higher energy levels. Liam talks about how important rest has been for him lately - a lost art form for a lot of us who do too much at times. Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro, we discuss the finer art of managing ones arse crack in the surfing life… After this important discussion we delve into new board purchases and what they've done for Wills grovelling potential. Liam discusses recent board resurrections - an old Graham Bunt mid length that's gonna be the longest board he's ever ridden! Let the mid length journey begin! We then go onto talk about how honest you've got to be about your surf fitness vs what boards you ride & where you get to surf (that the former plays a WAAAAY bigger role than anything else!). In mind body stoke, Will mentions ; 1. Taking peptide bpc 157 (and the positive effect it's had on his health) 2. How big a difference breath work in the ocean has helped his surfing recently Liam goes onto share recent challenges he's been working through regarding alcohol - how much joy he gets from it but also how much it's stalling his gains (and what he wants to do about it). Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro we dive into the nuances of how you create your own version of surf happiness - in how you view conditions , how often you get to surf, where you surf, who you surf with etc etc And the insight that we come back to over and over is life can't be better ANYWHERE else not because you're environment wouldn't change if you moved to indo but more because it's YOU who lives there and where ever you surf, there you are. In mind body stoke, Will chats recent diet changes (in doing a little less fasting and it helping his surf energy) and also how powerful breath work has been for surf performance. Liam talks about being open minded to change and how much he's enjoyed getting a little more relaxed on diet and beers when you're around the right people (and that the people make the biggest difference to how those foods etc interact with your body). Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This week we intro on how tricky our home breaks have been this winter and all the mental (and physical) challenges that's created. Will then goes onto discuss his recent Bristol Wave Pool experience and he was NOT happy in the first session because of the delays and issues the wave park were having with the new settings. In the end , things all came good due to mental shifts and a huge winner was riding the Machado mashup - frothing on that new board and Will explains why. Liam then goes onto discuss how important failure is for progressing as a surfer - that if you're NOT failing much, your progression will slow down…it's when you mess things up enough times that you make the biggest gains because it WILL eventually click - we've just gotta be brave enough to have a go! We then go onto chat about how progress speeds up and slows down at various stages in life - whether there's been a flat spell, injuries , work being busy - and that it's so important to stay positive and motivated when a slower period kicks in! Will then talks about including pre workout carbs from honey and orange juice and how positive an impact it's had on his performance! Liam talks about his recent fitness gains from getting out and running during our flat spell to keep motivation alive for when the next swells come around. Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro we cover Liams and Wills recent surfs and all the successes and challenges they bought along with them. From surfing with difficult people to trying to perform even in the midst of mental/emotional triggers, we hash out what it takes to get better whilst having a good time! Liam goes on to talk about how much fun he had surfing his “cricket net” - a spot where he can simply get stuck into turns without many people around. Will also shares stories from his recent trip to tenerife and was obsessed with trying to keep the nose of his board facing the beach so he could perform tighter more vertical turns. We then go onto talk about how close that switch and shift into the next levels of performance is and so therefore how important it is to stay stoked and keep persevering! Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
Liam talks about his recent FireWire seaside session and how he's been finding it on our home break - he then goes on to share his quiver, how he wants to upgrade it, and why! Will goes onto share his journey on mids and what they can do for our surfing - in having to work on slowing things down, lengthening compressions and therefore improving our style, hand positions, posture and therefore carves. “Step up” performance mids get discussed too and why they can be rad for trips or bigger days at home. We then talk about how easy it is to slip into a negative mindset around your surfing - whether it be junky waves / crowds / old injuries etc…but in coming out of those funks from looking in the mirror, appreciation and therefore flow comes back in abundance! We then share insights about how to stay motivated to be fit, well and well trimmed downstairs - that so much of it is about being kind to yourself when things slip and then, when we simply choose to - get back into what we know we can do to make our surfing lives more fulfilling all round and remind ourselves (hopefully) why it's so important to remain consistent - because surfing is worth it! Stay stoked! Will & Liam
This week , we intro with a long chat about empathy in surfing and how it can be applied. We then go onto discuss , - The appeal of the solo surf journey (self resilience) - We discuss what we believe to be the most overused word in surfing - respect! Wills pre tenerife surf training camp 2. Liams ocean knowledge vs wave pool progressions & philosophies 3. Wills no1 ever session in 21 years of surfing and how surprised he was about the board that allowed him the session 4. Why it's so important to let go of joy 5. How relative “surf progression is” to the human trying to progress 6. Why 90% of the time, it's not the board that's at fault , but the surfer and their fitness & mindset 7. Why NOW is the only time there'll ever be to go surfing , move to the coast or go on a trip (there'll always be barriers!) Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
In this weeks intro, we talk about our favourite wetsuit boots and Will goes full circle with his view on “solite”! Liam then shares how hard he found a recent surf but seeks the positivity in the experience and what it taught him. He also goes into share in his next session only 2 days later, he felt epjc - we then go onto talk about how the universe seems to be set up this way in and out the water! Will shares insights from dialling his quiver and how positive an influence it's had on his surfing lately. The board that's really stood out for better waves has been his JS el baron performance mid length. We then go onto talk about the importance of being able to chop and change the quiver to a) keep the novelty = happiness = Stoke equation alive and b) get the most out of the conditions! Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro is all about the surf trips Liam and Will had been on in recent weeks! We go onto talk about : 1. Why more powerful waves makes EVERYTHING easier 2. Which boards we rode as the wave quality changed 3. How we faced our fears stepping up to new challenges 4. Why going away on a surf trip is such an important part of our surfing development! Enjoy and stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro we dive deep into the placebo affect - the boards we choose all the way to the foods we eat - what we believe in will probably work! We also go into share a surf story from a recent session (Will told someone to go in!!). Liam then goes onto share how much someone's self awareness relates to keeping lineups as fair and safe as possible. The boys also go onto talk about the failing adaptation theory - in how falling off more over many (many!) years, we get better at not caring so much about what people think which in turn helps us perform more! In mind, body, stoke, Will & Liam
We took a trip to the Bristol wave pool! Liam shared how he found the expert turns on his new seaside fish (maybe a little too much foam!) and then found the extra foam amazing for the setting down on the “advanced”. Will then shares how he found the expert turns on his new mid length (haaaaard going!!!) and then very similarly to Liam, got his 5'11 seaside really working on the advanced. We then go onto talk about how much quicker you can develop your surfing from being able to get “reps” in the wave pool compared to the ocean (depending on where you live!). We then go onto discuss the philosophy of short term hardness vs long term ease and relate it to the discipline of good habits and why it's soooooo crazy how much inertia there is before doing them (and why it's therefore so important to be kind to yourself if you're procrastinating but also be able to give yourself a kick in the arse where needed!). Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
Liam intros on why it's so important to not care how you look on a wave and how positively impactful that mindset was in his recent session in Fistral. Will then shares his recent surf experiences and how much Golf messed up his body for his trip (and how much stretching and re strengthening work he had to do to get back in to “surf shape”). In mind, body , stoke Will shares his “yoga challenge” he placed on himself for his trip and how powerful it was for his surfing (and how bloody crazy gnarly tough it has been sticking with that extra level of mobility work since getting home). Liam goes on to share how motivated he is to get back into “surf season shape” having gotten back into old habits in summer. He shares how good it feels to be in that shape reminding himself to keep that constancy on track! In mind, body and stoke, Will & Liam

We also go onto chat about how important it is we let go of what people think about us - in how we live our lives, what boards we ride, foods we eat - the LOT! Will goes onto talk about “what makes the happiest surfer?” - someone who can be just as stoked for someone else's wave as they would if they'd had one of those their own! The boys also talk about naked surfing - with none other that Rob Machado… you'll be surprised what comes up! In mind body stoke, Will talks about recent dietary choices and how difficult it can be to find the healthiest choices of “quick carbs” that are super useful for surf trips (he has a hack to get round that!). Liam shares how in finishing his event - he's already put on some weight as he's loaded back up with carbs and some beers but then goes onto talk about how much he wants to get back to how he's been feeling recently. In mind body stoke, Will goes on to share recent surfing gains coming from eating cleaner than usual on his weekend trip and how much more fun he had in the lineup! Liam talks about his up coming paddling event and how the extra effort on training & nutrition he's been putting in has made him feel over all. Stay stoked! Will & Liam
This weeks intro is a mix of emotional triggers on crowds, chat about free stuff we got given (from a golf company!) and how we've been staying stoked despite the recent flat spell. The conversation goes into talk about why surfing gives us such a huge boost in stoke - that flow experience of zero thoughts about the past or future, just present joy. We go onto talk about the evolving surfer who develops as much stoke on land as in the sea - through taking on challenges and seeking new flow based horizons. In mind, body, stoke, Will talks about recent upgrades in his meditation programme - basically doing more, more often (and reaping huge rewards). Liam discusses how there is no “right time” to take care of yourself and how good he's felt lately giving himself more time to ocean paddle, play golf and take on less to recover and feel better for taking on challenges. Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
This weeks intro, the boys go in deep on wetsuit reviewing - the ones that we love and the ones we do not (over a 20 year surf career there have been a LOT of different suits!). We then go onto talk about surf brands and how woke a lot of them are trying to be - pushing a silly unconscious message of “what we're doing to the planet from buying x or y”. And rather than brands go down that road, more just offer what they offer without hypocrisy or negativity. Conversation then goes onto how distract-able our minds can be and teaches the “focus meditation” - in how when we focus entirely on being present it aids every area of our lives and in particular - activities that require better focus like surfing!!! In mind, body, stoke, Will talks about working on his ultimate weakness - his snap! Then utilising “exercise snacking” and getting the noticeable benefits for snapping onto his surfboard. Liam shares how he's working on his “weak point” - his legs and his recent training on his legs has made a huge difference to his cutbacks! Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam

Liam talks about what he's done for refent surf fitness gains - in how big an impact his work on land had on his wave count (according to Will “the most waves I've ever seen you catch in one hour”!). In mind, body stoke, Will shares how the FireWire seaside has challenged him to eat a cleaner diet so he can get the most out of his new quiver (but also how it's messed with his mind being tempted to weigh himself - a habit he NEVER recommends to his clients ironically). Liam goes onto share how good he's felt lately from reducing booze intake whilst upping his cardio workouts too. He also goes onto share how his recent gains have challenged his previous lifestyle philosophy and working out how he can strike the right balance between feeling good vs being able to let loose. Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam
In this weeks show, we discuss recent surfs and how challenging they've been to access energy and therefore wave count and performance. We then ask the question “which is best for surfing - fuel from carbs or fuel from fat?” We go onto share how important it is to consider your personal situation and how you like to surf…are you the guy / gal who sits out the back and waits for sets? Or are you someone who froths like a grommet on the inside? The latter surfer is gonna need a LOT more carbs than the former! We go onto talk about recent surf success - in feeling like Machado (much more than looking like him!!) and how hard it can be to let go of it - in how we hold on to success / joy rather than let it pass (like it needs to!). In mind body stoke, Will talks about “pre surf routines” and how big an impact they had on his recent surfs. Liam shares how cool it felt to surf super mini surfs (rather than get depleted from 2 hour + sessions) Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam

In this weeks intro, we discuss the various surf happiness myths of “do a surf trip = become happier” or “get to surf all the time = become happier” - why do we believe they're myths? Because we adapt as humans and where ever WE go - there WE are!! We also go onto discuss recent surf sessions and how big a deal Will found getting his board choice right on that session (verses having got it totally wrong the previous day!). Liam goes onto talk about how much joy he got from that recent session and the why - that he'd gone long enough without surf to regain that massive appreciation when it came around (and that keeping that alive is super important for our overall happiness!). Loads more gems in mind, body and stoke with some bio hacking form Will as well as some non-surf, surf-media. Big Love Will&Liam
In todays intro, apart from digressing the various nuances of Rob Machado's pubic hair, we delve deep into what self care can do for your surfing - aka - the better you take care of your body through diet and lifestyle, the better you'll surf! So why do we question our boards so much when, really, it comes back to the surfer riding them? Because we bloody love boards and we're lazy :) :) Will goes on to share what changing up his quiver has done recently improve his performance in the ocean. Liam shares his recent insights into “quietening the mind” in busy lineups so you can enjoy your surfing more. Will shares his insights on how big a challenge expectation was for his holiday and how he had to flip his mindset in favour of deeper qualities to a trip (rather than just solely focusing on the surf). Stay stoked guys! Will & Liam

What ever we do on land affects our performance (and joy) and vise versa. Liam goes on to share his insights on his January “reboot” and why surfing is awesome for creating a mirror for your level of self care - Mother Nature takes no prisoners and will hand you your ass if you've not put the work in on land.
