Visibility is not the same as leverage. Just because more people see me doesn't mean I'm in a stronger position. In this episode, I break down how overexposure actually makes me weaker, not stronger. When I'm too available and too easy to access, I lose control, mystery, and value. What people see all the time becomes easier to question, judge, and ignore, so I have to be intentional about when and how I show up. Show Notes: [02:19]#1 Overexposure invites scrutiny without consequence. [09:52]#2 Constant exposure collapses leverage into availability. [14:01]#3 Exposure without restraint turns the signal into noise. [16:25] Recap Next Steps: --- Execution is not a talent. It is a measurable standard. If your results don't match your ability, you are not lacking information—you are lacking execution reliability. The Execution Reliability Index (ERI) identifies exactly where your discipline breaks, where your standards drop, and where your results are leaking. This is not theory. This is a system. Brians Questions: Hello and greetings from Texas, I'm an amateur woodworker who may have bitten off a little more than I could chew. I started building full closet cabinets for my walk-in master closet, and at this point I'm too far in to turn back, so I'm learning as I go. All of the cabinet boxes are installed, and I'm now working on shelves and drawer fronts. My question is about face frames. I've seen a lot of people recommend assembling the full face frame first and then installing it as a unit, rather than attaching each rail and stile individually. What are the real advantages of building and installing the face frame as one piece versus installing it piece by piece? One complication in my situation is that my walls weren't perfectly square when I started, and as a result some of my cabinets aren't perfectly square either. I'm trying to figure out which approach will give me the best final result given those imperfections. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and for all the knowledge you put out there—it's been a huge help on this project. Thank you, Casey Wood You Rather 1. The first question is about accuracy. What is your own degree of tolerance when it comes to measurements, without going crazy? I guess it depends on the project, but for example, when cutting panels to specific dimensions with a track saw, do you try to get the measurements down to the nearest 1/16th? nearest 1/32nd? 1/64th? 2. On a related note, the measuring marks on the ruler or parallel guides of course have a width themselves… Do you place your pencil or stop pointer just before the line/mark, in the middle of the line, or just after the line? Does it not matter as long as you're consistent? I know this isn't NASA, but I don't want the project to ultimately look amateurish. Josh Guys Questions: First, thank you for answering my other questions. Guy points out that Rubio Monocoat is made for wood floors when others talk about using it on wood furniture. Is there an actual disadvantage or problem with using Rubio on fine furniture when you want a finish that can withstand the abuse that a floor gets? Thanks again for the great show! George 3. Any advice for staining blotchy baltic birch plywood with Gel stain and tips for finishing with water-based urethane topcoat? I have heard so many different opinions, from putting a slip coat of mineral spirits, to using preconditioner, to applying gel stain directly on the wood, etc. Josh Huys Questions: I am working on a large kitchen cabinet project and have come across a few questions I thought would make good discussion. Project includes 16 base cabinets, 14 uppers, range hood and a couple of custom spice racks, open shelves etc. Upper will have 14" upper uppers stacked on them with glass fronts. Lowers are almost entirely drawers. Carcasses are about done heading into face frames and drawers. -Ripping down face frame lumber. When batching out large amounts of 1 1/2" strips what is your preferred method. Table saw then sand? Table saw proud then plane? Table saw then drum sand? Will a bandsaw with ripping blade provide a nicer edge? Major concerns are efficiency and accuracy while avoiding saw marks that have to be hand sanded off. -Ever use a shaper to add dado on 8' strips of wood for drawer box parts? Wondering if there is a good way to setup the shaper with power feeder to run through all the strips then cut to length. Essentially making my own drawer blanks. Any other thoughts or recommendations when batching out large cabinet projects. Matt I have the Grizzly benchtop oscillating edge and spindle sander that I believe a couple of you have mentioned owning currently or in the past. I'm working on some oak glue-ups that are using some odd angles that will be template routed later. The problem I'm having is that when I use the edge sander to dial in these pieces my edges are getting slightly rounded over and becoming convex. I'd love to have a large disk sander but this is what I'm working with and I can't figure out if it's a tension or pressure issue or the oscillation is causing it… any help is greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work! Shawn

In today's Daily Fix:Xbox has officially lowered the price on Xbox Game Pass. The Game Pass Ultimate tier is now $22.99, down from $29.99, and PC Game Pass is now $13.99, down from $16.49. This follows last week's leaked memo from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who told the Xbox team that Game Pass was too expensive. However, the Ultimate tier is losing Call of Duty as a day-one release, so future Call of Duty games will not appear on the service until about a year after their debut. In related news, Game Pass games for April and May have been announced, with the next iteration of Vampire Survivors leading the pack. And Capcom is having another very good year, with new release Pragmata selling a million copies in just two days. This follows Resident Evil Requiem, which has sold 6 million copies since its February debut.
Brians Questions: I am getting ready to build a mission style entertainment center. This project will use what I'm told is arched pedestal legs which was used a lot by Gustav Stickley. I will be gluing up three 5 3/4"x 28" quarter sawn white oak blanks to make the legs. I will then route the curve using a compression bit and template which I made using the Shaper Origin. My question is what are some good methods to ensure there is a tight (almost invisible) line on the glue up of the blanks. The legs are going to be a major feature on this piece and I would hate for the lines to be visible. I've done glue ups for square legs before and have pretty good success although not perfect. I know grain match is a big deal but wanted to pick your guys brains on clamping methods, glue type and anything else you can suggest to ensure success. Yours is the best podcast on the net. Tom Young I recently upgraded from a 9” ryobi bench top bandsaw to a craftsman 10” Floor standing. I'd like to build a mobile base for it. My question is, how tall should the table be? Should it be elbow high? Waste high? Higher ? Lower? For context, I'm mostly a hand tool guy and, although I have a dinky table saw, I don't use it much, favoring the bandsaw. I'll do some light resawing and other more detailed work with it. Thanks guys and Guy. Love the show.Jason Guys Questions: I am working on a large kitchen cabinet project and have come across a few questions I thought would make good discussion. -Drawer box preferences or use cases for solid wood vs plywood with edge banding. I am leaning towards plywood due to number I need (38), being simpler to use prefinished ply then mill down rough cut. But it seems like cheating.....Large Pots and pans drawers 3/4" sides or 5/8" sides? -Drawer box construction when using overlay fronts. I do not have a dovetail jig. I may end up just pocket screwing them which is what I have done in the past but I wanted to add an upscale touch. I tried my domino with Sipo dominoes, pin nailed the box together first and then put two 5x30 dominoes in. To me the hole created was not that tight with the domino, didn't look nice. I see some YouTube experts make it seem easy, any experience or thoughts? Also thought of using drawer lock bit on the new to me shaper I just picked up but no experience yet. (Grizzly 3hp) Thoughts or preferences? Any other thoughts or recommendations when batching out large cabinet projects. Matt Hola Y'all, I have been listening to y'all for a little over a year, and woodworking for two years. Best Podcast on the interwebs! I was recently gifted a used Grizzly Go555 14" 1HP. I have never owned a Bandsaw and I want to use it mainly for resawing. I was told it is working fine, but I prefer to "Trust, but Verify". My questions are: 1. What tune-up/preventive maintenance should I do immediately? 2. What upgrades should I do for resawing hardwood? Thanks so much! Peace, Love, and Sawdust Norris Sebastian Grandad's Workshop Huy's Questions: Hey guys! I am a full-time journeyman carpenter and I work in the commercial sector around the Indianapolis area. Currently working at the new IU Health Hospital downtown. I've been doing carpentry professionally for nearly 9 years. Almost half of a year ago, I decided to purchase a 4x4 shapeoko 5 pro and got involved with learning about cnc. As friends and family found out about my new acquired skill, I've been asked to make various types of wood related projects-some requiring cnc and some that don't. I have a decent amount of handheld power tools and jobsite tools I've acquired through the years. Thankfully those tools have helped me in completing non-cnc related projects but my problem is the lack of woodworking tools and equipment at my disposal. Many times I've turned down projects due to not having the right tools. Other times I've taken extra steps to complete tasks, but had I just had the right tool, it could've been a breeze. I want to have a nice wood shop in my barn eventually but not sure how to prioritize my wants and needs. Considering trading the cnc to instantly increase my wood shop tool budget and maybe revisiting it in the future. With a focus on increasing my wood working tools and building up my shop—What are some upgrades/ tool trades/ must-have-tools to kickstart my wood shop? What tools should I get rid of? Tools at my current disposal/ 4x4 shapeoko 5 pro, a dw 8-1/4” table saw, dw 735 planer, dw 10” miter saw, Bosch random orbital sander, metabo belt sander , ridgid oscillating spindle sander, central machine drill press, various dw drills/ impacts/ saw zalls/ oscillator/ hammer drill/ jig saw/ circular saw etc. Tools that could've made my life easier in the past- a jointer, band saw, track saw, drum sander, router table, etc Thanks, Holden P.s. My dad and I carpool together during the work week and love listening to the podcast-we especially have come fond of Guy's no bs, straightforward attitude. Keep up the good work! Empathy, purpose, and trust can reduce inflammation, ease pain, and improve immune function—sometimes more than drugs or surgery. #InflammationRelief #EmpathyHealing #MindBodyMedicine
In this medication-prevention focused episode, Dr. Scott Watier and Tommy Welling analyze a late-2025 systematic review from Frontiers in Nutrition examining how simple time-restricted eating without any calorie counting significantly improves blood pressure and cardiometabolic markers in non-diabetic adults. They reveal that participants using 6-10 hour eating windows experienced drops in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, BMI, and triglycerides—all without tracking a single calorie or changing food choices—challenging the eat-less-move-more paradigm that fails 95% of dieters long-term. The hosts explain why blood pressure and cholesterol medications are typically the first dominoes to fall in the medication cascade, and how this study demonstrates that compartmentalizing eating times creates deliberate decreases in insulin levels across the day, making it harder for your body to guard long-term fat stores. They break down critical timing insights showing that metabolic benefits truly kick in at the 12-week consistency mark, with weight loss predicting blood pressure improvements more than duration alone, while emphasizing that even a modest eating window serves as foundational root-cause therapy that can help listeners avoid dependence on the medical system and medication cascade that dominates American healthcare. Most people have spent years studying feedback — the frameworks, the techniques, the dos and don'ts. But almost nobody has ever been asked one simple question before receiving it: How do you want feedback? That's the focus of today's episode. Brett breaks down why this single question might be the most underrated communication tool in your arsenal — and why it works on a level most people never think about. It's not a hack. It's not a trick. It's old-style values that the noise of modern leadership advice has buried. And once you start using it, you'll wonder why you ever walked into a feedback conversation without it. What You'll Learn: ∙ Why most feedback conversations fail before a single word is spoken. ∙ How one question disarms defensiveness and gives you useful intel at the same time. ∙ The difference between catering to someone's preferences and surrendering to them. ∙ Why this is power dynamics in action — and why that's a good thing. ____________________ Follow Us: Website: ArtofCoaching.com Instagram: @coach_brettb X: @coach_brettb
On this week's episode of the Monday M.A.S.S. podcast, Chris and Todd cover a wild stretch of action sports surf news that feels equal parts chaos, history, and "did that really just happen?" KASSO went crazy! The North Shore of Oahu just took a serious beating, with massive flooding shutting down Kam Highway, leaving cars stranded, landslides everywhere, and mud covering everything in sight. Meanwhile, in one of the strangest surf stories of the year, debris from an intercepted Iranian missile crashed into the Tel Aviv wave pool. A week later, more missiles hit the water near surfers at Isreal's most popular break! 2026 marks 50 years of pro surfing. The boys also shout out standout edits like Cola Bros at Lowers and Jacob Burke's Fish Out of Water, plus some good news: Oceanside surf coach Lucas Taub saving a father and daughter from a rip. Puerto Escondido also earns its place as a World Surfing Reserve, protecting iconic waves like Zicatela for future generations. Elsewhere, things get intense with a shark attack in Northern California that ended in survival thanks to some serious fight-back instincts, while snow and skate news bring everything from back-to-back wins in Laax to chaos at KASSO. As always, the episode wraps with Nerd News—movies, randomness, and a little bit of everything. Surf, snow, skate, and the unexpected—another packed week on Monday M.A.S.S. Unspoken Words: A Selective Mutism Podcast by Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum
Episode 73 of the Unspoken Words podcast features a discussion between Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum and Dr. Jenna Blum, exploring the PVC model — a practical, anxiety-lowering framework built around three core principles: Preparing, Visuals, and Choice questions. In the episode, Dr. E and Dr. Jenna discuss why deliberate preparation before an exposure matters more than most families realize, and how anticipation anxiety can undermine a child's readiness before they even walk through the door. They cover how visuals reduce cognitive load in ways verbal preparation alone cannot, why choice questions are a powerful tool for moving a child from responding to initiating, and how silent goals allow parents to set up supportive environments for resistant or overwhelmed children. They also introduce the look-listen-learn approach to understanding what strategies work best for each individual.--Chapters: (03:26) What the PVC Model Is and Why Anxiety Makes Communication So Hard(13:19) Why Preparation Before an Exposure Matters More Than the Exposure Itself(25:29) How Visuals Lower Cognitive Load and Why Writing It Down Changes Everything(33:15) Using the Social Communication Bridge to Meet Every Child Where They Are(43:05) Why Choice Questions Are the Key to Moving From Responding to Initiating- ADDITIONAL RESOURCE: Prepare, Visuals, Choices! Renzo Luzzatti, Founder and CEO of US-Rx Care, discusses the role and practice of the Pharmacy Benefits Managers and the advantages of working with a company that uses a fiduciary model. Inherent conflicts of interest in the traditional PBM model, such as manufacturer rebates and requirements to use PBM-owned pharmacies, drive up prescription drug costs. US-Rx Care eliminates these conflicts by charging a flat administrative fee with its sole incentive to lower drug costs for the plan and its members. Renxo explains, "We've been around since 2007. We do have about 5 million lives under management, both self-funded employers, which is the bulk of our business. Then we also tap into Medicare health plans and have some programs and offerings that we assist there to lower costs and improve the quality of care. Our approach is unique in that we've taken a fiduciary stance from day one. We can talk about that in a little bit. It is a legal term. It's defined under ERISA, which governs health plans. They have a fiduciary duty to the plan, the members, and the management of the plan assets. And the industry as a whole has shied away from any fiduciary obligation whatsoever, in part because it's rife with conflicts of interest, and you cannot have conflicts of interest as a fiduciary." "That is really at the core of all of the issues and complaints that we're hearing about PBMs - they're driving up the cost of prescriptions rather than having the intended effect, which is to reduce the cost of prescriptions. And I would say in the last four or five years, employers have really started to ask the right questions because they're becoming more and more educated." "For folks like us, we're growing like crazy because the industry finally gets that. The deal that they were getting through their traditional model is not so good. The other thing is when we move to a fiduciary model, savings are typically in the realm of 30% to 50% in the first year, and then we typically see additional savings in year two and three, and then after that, the goal and the intent, which we've been successful at, is to keep costs stable." #USRxCare #PBM #PharmacyBenefits #EmployeeBenefits #HealthcareCosts #FiduciaryResponsibility #BenefitsConsulting #HealthcareTransparency #CostContainment #SelfFundedEmployers #HealthcareReform usrxcare.com Download the transcript here

RTÉ reporter Andrew Lowth and Consultant Endocrinologist Professor Donal O'Shea talked about the potential health benefits of a morning cup of coffee.
Brad Beeler, author of Tell Me Everything and retired Secret Service agent who has conducted more criminal polygraphs than anyone in the agency’s history, was clearing a house on a search warrant when he came across two dogs: a pitbull and a Chihuahua. His focus locked on the pitbull. The stereotype. The threat. Meanwhile, the Chihuahua circled behind him and jumped up, latching onto him right between the legs while his partner stood there laughing. We assign horns and halos fast. Brad learned that lesson with dogs. You learn it every time a prospect shuts down before you finish your introduction. Horns mean danger. Hurtful. Someone here to take from me. Halo means safe. Helpful. On my side. Over 25 years of getting people to confess to federal crimes, Brad discovered something powerful: the same instincts that get hardened criminals to talk work in conference rooms. The techniques that break through with people who have every reason to lie also work on prospects who have every reason to brush you off. Because in both environments, trust determines everything. Why Building Trust With Prospects Is Harder Than You Think Your brain’s been running this horns-and-halos program for 300,000 years. When something rustled in the bushes, you made a split-second decision: climb a tree or fight. That quick judgment kept you alive. The moment you walk into a prospect meeting, their brain assigns you horns automatically. You are the salesperson. The interruption. The person asking for their budget. In their mind, you represent risk before you ever speak. It happens on cold calls. You say, “Hi, this is…” and they are already calculating how to end the conversation. On discovery calls. In demos. At conferences when you introduce yourself. Every single time. You are fighting ancient wiring every time you engage a buyer. So what can you control? The first 90 seconds. How to Build Trust in the First 90 Seconds We remember first impressions and last impressions. In most meetings, it begins and ends with a handshake. Brad puts antiperspirant on his right hand. He warms his hands before entering a room. He holds eye contact for one second. Faces the person straight on. Slows his pace. Lowers his tone. It sounds mechanical. But every one of these micro-decisions either confirms horns or begins to build a halo. Wet handshake? You’re nervous, unprepared, not confident in what you’re selling. Avoiding eye contact? You’re hiding something or you don’t believe in your own pitch. Talking too fast? You’re trying to get something past them before they catch on. When you control these variables, people’s guard comes down faster. You’re giving their brain evidence that maybe, just maybe, you’re not the threat they assumed you were. The Trust-Building Technique Most Salespeople Get Wrong Brad would sit across from murder suspects and open with one line: “I need you to help me understand.” Humans are hardwired to explain. When you position yourself as the learner, something shifts. They become the expert. Their guard drops. They start talking. Most salespeople walk in ready to educate. Your deck. Your case studies. Your demo. You’re there to prove you know their problems better than they do. Sometimes that works. But think about what it communicates: “I already know what’s wrong with your business. I just need you to agree with me and sign here.” Instead, try: “Walk me through what happens when your team processes a new order.” “Help me understand how you’re handling onboarding right now.” “What’s your biggest bottleneck?” Invert the dynamic. You’re not there to impress them. You’re there to learn from them. Once buyers start explaining their world, they reveal what matters. The workaround their team built. The spreadsheet that breaks every month. The process leadership thinks is automated but is completely manual. That’s the information that moves your deal forward. How to Build Rapport Before the Real Conversation Starts Before interrogating two suspects, Brad bought them food. Popeyes for one. McDonald’s for the other. Twenty-two dollars total. The next day, the woman’s on a jail call: “Yeah, they got me with the McDonald’s. That’s why I confessed.” It was not about the food. It was about comfort. Lowering the guard. Creating what Brad calls a confessional environment where people feel safe telling the truth. You’re probably not buying prospects lunch before your first call. But the principle still applies. Show up five minutes early so they don’t feel rushed. Ask about their weekend before diving into business. Acknowledge that you know their time is valuable. Turn your camera off if they seem uncomfortable on video. Send the agenda beforehand so there are no surprises. These are small friction eliminators. They signal: I’m not here to ambush you. I’m not trying to catch you off guard. We’re having a conversation, not a pitch. The prospect who feels safe tells you what’s really going on. The prospect who feels ambushed gives you the corporate line and ends the call early. What Happens When You Actually Build Trust With Buyers When buyers move you from horns to halo, everything changes. They stop filtering their answers. They tell you what keeps them up at night. They admit where the process breaks. They share internal pressure you would never see in a polished demo. I’ve watched this play out hundreds of times. The rep who asks better questions closes more deals than the rep with the better demo. The rep who makes prospects comfortable gets to real problems faster than the rep with the perfect pitch. Brad spent 25 years getting people to confess to federal crimes. He still warms up his hands before handshakes. Still slows his speech. Still positions himself as someone who needs to learn. Why? Because building trust isn’t about personality or natural charisma. It’s about technique. These methods work because they’re based on how humans actually operate, not how we wish they operated. And when buyers tell you the truth, you can actually help them. — Download our free Sales EQ Book Club Guide to master the emotional intelligence skills that help you read prospects and close more deals.

It's gator time, folks! It seems like we should've already covered this topic, but, nope, this is our first ever episode on the American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis), and we've got two ringers to help: Daniel returns (our Field Guide host who moved to Florida last year) and he's joined by his mentor in all things swamp-related, Chip Campbell. Chip spent twenty years running Okefenokee Adventures, leading interpretive tours in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, and his knowledge of alligator natural history and ecology runs deep. Thanks to our Patrons, this episode is also an on-the-road joint. The guys are deep in the Florida Everglades on a multi-day paddling trip, and they take a break at camp to talk with Chip about all things alligator — with a special focus on separating gator myths from reality. And, unfortunately for those of you crushing on Steve, this one's 100% Steve-free.This episode was recorded on Dec. 31, 2025 at Watson's Place campsite in Everglades National Park.Episode Notes and LinksAlligators, metabolism, and the “dog comparison”During the episode, Chip mentioned a study suggesting that several alligators could be maintained on roughly the same caloric intake as a single dog. We were not able to locate a study that makes that specific numerical comparison. However, the underlying idea is strongly supported by research on alligator physiology: American alligators have extremely low metabolic rates compared to warm-blooded mammals because they are ectothermic and do not spend energy maintaining body temperature. Classic physiological work shows that adult alligators can have daily energy expenditures that are only a small fraction of those of similarly sized mammals, making informal comparisons like this directionally accurate even if the exact ratio is anecdotal rather than experimental. Source: Coulson, R. A. (1989). Biochemistry and physiology of alligator metabolism in vivo. Integrative and Comparative Biology, 29(3), 921–934. https://doi.org/10.1093/icb/29.3.921Freshwater “sipping” — the study behind the observation The behavior Chip describes is documented in a study by Nifong and Lowers, which examined how coastal alligators use estuarine habitats. The authors note that after heavy rainfall, a thin layer of freshwater can temporarily sit on top of saltier water, and alligators will take advantage of this by drinking from the surface. This helps them manage hydration and salt balance in brackish environments, despite lacking the salt-excreting glands found in crocodiles. Source: Nifong, J. C., & Lowers, R. H. (2017). Reciprocal intraguild predation between Alligator mississippiensis and elasmobranchs in the southeastern United States. Southeastern Naturalist, 16(3), 383–396.Alligator growth vs. ageChip addressed the myth that alligators continue to grow throughout their life. Echoing what he reported, research on American alligators shows that although hatchlings and juveniles grow rapidly, their rate of growth slows substantially as they get older, and studies indicate they reach near-maximum body size well before the end of their lives. Long-term data suggest many alligators stop adding significant length by roughly 25–35 years of age, and more recent work has revised the classic idea of indefinite growth toward a pattern of determinate growth with a growth plateau in adulthood. Human harvest of alligators in LouisianaAs Chip said, Louisiana supports the largest wild harvest program for the American alligator in the United States, with more than 2,000 licensed hunters routinely harvesting an estimated 30,000–35,000 wild alligators annually under a regulated tagging system. In contrast, other states such as Florida have had regulated harvest programs with substantially lower annual take.” Sources: Joanen et al. (2021), Evaluation of Effects of Harvest on Alligator Populations in Louisiana, Journal of Wildlife Management; Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Alligator Annual Report (2019–2020); Hines (SEAFWA) status report on Florida alligators.Fatal Alligator AttacksIn this episode, Chip discusses the history of fatal alligator-human conflicts, highlighting the 1973 Sharon Holmes incident as the first "fully confirmed" fatal attack in modern records. While the Holmes incident is often cited as the definitive first case, there was an earlier death that some consider to be the first modern fatality. Historical records show why Chip's reference to the Holmes case being the first “fully confirmed” case is accurate:Sharon Holmes (1973): On August 16, 1973, 16-year-old Sharon Holmes was killed while swimming at Oscar Scherer State Park. This is widely cited as the first fully confirmed fatality because of the absolute nature of the evidence: the attack was witnessed by bystanders, and a subsequent necropsy of the 11-foot 3-inch alligator found conclusive physical remains. This event marked a turning point in how state agencies, like the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), tracked and verified alligator-related deaths.Allen Rice (1957): While most official FWC lists of fatal attacks begin in 1973, the 1957 death of 9-year-old Allen Rice in Eau Gallie is often mentioned as an earlier case. However, it is technically categorized as presumed. Rice went missing while fishing, and though his body was recovered with injuries consistent with an alligator and a large gator was seen nearby, there were no direct witnesses to the strike. In this episode, Ben Azadi reveals why stubborn belly fat is not a calorie issue or a willpower problem but a visceral fat problem driven by inflammation, stress hormones, and faulty metabolic signals. Ben explains the critical difference between subcutaneous fat and visceral fat and why traditional approaches like excessive cardio, crunches, caloric restriction, and chronic OMAD fail to eliminate deep belly fat. Drawing on over 200 years of Japanese metabolic wisdom, he shares a simple yet powerful three-pillar approach to melting visceral fat naturally: Deeply colored foods that activate fat-burning genes Green tea catechins that increase fat oxidation and block fat absorption Moderate-intensity movement using the 75% talk-test rule You'll also learn: How to identify visceral fat with a simple self-test Why bottled green tea sabotages fat loss Why fat loss is about signals, not discipline How “thin on the outside, fat on the inside” (TOFI) applies to many people How fast visceral fat can drop once the right signals are restored This episode delivers a clear, actionable plan to reduce inflammation, protect metabolism, and restore your body's natural fat-burning ability without starvation or punishment.
