This week we are going to be covering the mysterious death of Jessica Johnson. The reason it is such a mystery is because of the divide in how people think Jessica met her unfortunate death. Police are going to rule this as a suicide, and it looks like the public is taking the opinion it was a murder. How could we have such a difference in opinion? Well, the investigation appears to have some large holes in it as well as mistakes. Plus, we find ourselves in a situation where we go to look for evidence that has disappeared. Jessica was last seen alive on June 1, 2017 and was found tied or hung (depending on opinion) to a mailbox on June 2, 2017. We have some suspicious characters and events involved and that leaves most of us with a lot of unanswered questions. In this weeks 'sode, Justin will give you the details and be looking for the debrief that will drop the following week where Justin and Mike break the case down further. The upcoming debrief will be a deep dive into the crime scene and investigation. If you are still reading this, please subscribe to the podcast on Spotify or whatever platform you are listening on that has it available. In this week's debrief episode Justin and Mike discuss the case of Holly Bobo. We do our best to try and break the case down and as we go along, we find ourselves in a lot of head scratching situations. Holly Lynn Bobo was born on October 12, 1990 and was killed on or about April 13, 2011. The disappearance of Holly involves a strange set of events furthered by a strange murder case. There are a lot of characters in this case and their events of what happened will leave you feeling confused and looking for more answers. Why can't we get a straight answer from anyone. Why is there basically no evidence to go off of? Did we almost have a perfect crime senecio before a unrelated gun charge shined a spot line on the case? Listen in as we try and unpack the evidence in the Murder of Holly Bobo. In this episode Justin and Mike break down the Julius Jones case. What we need in this case is the full evidence. We need answers from the District Attorney's Office. We need to know what happened. If Julius Jones is innocent, which there is a lot a play, where is justice?Sources for this episode include:July 3, 2016 article by ziva@readfrontier.com
In this episode I will go through and do my best to discuss the ins and outs of Julius Jones narrowly escaping death row and the murder of Paul Howell. There is a lot of information and theories that go into this one. Because Jones claims that not all evidence was included in his original trial, mainly his alibi, its hard to go back 20+ years to tie it all together. I believe his best defense at this point is a corrupt DA and a tainted jury. There are multiple stories that play out in this case and some of them are happening simultaneously and that is another reason I believe this is a hard one. It kind of makes it difficult to follow along but I think it is a story that need to be told. In this debrief episode Justin and Mike breakdown the case of Ryan Waller and Heather Quan. We discuss the details of the case as well as why certain parts of the investigation went the way they did. Its defiantly a hard case to take in and the ending is the hardest part.
This case has a lot of twists and turns. The police show up at Ryan Waller's apartment to conduct a welfare check on him and his girlfriend Heather Quan. When they arrive, Ryan looks like he has been beaten up and Heather is found on the couch, dead. Ryan acts like he doesn't know what happen and acts like he barely knows Heather. He gives several different accounts to police detectives and leaves everyone involved confused. Is Ryan trying to mislead police, or is there more to the story. And trust me, there always is...Sources for this episode include:Some dates and info from a reddit discussion - Ryan Waller - A Murder Investigation Gone Terribly Wrong.https://medium.com/crimebeat/when-the-suspect-is-a-victim-f4a01da6999YouTube link:The Haunting Case of Ryan Waller (JCS Inspired) - YouTube

This week we will be discussing the murder of Brian Deneke and all drama that goes into this case. It was 1997 and there was a battle going on between the "punks" verses the "jocks". It is strange how just being labeled or associating with a certain group could end up causing your death. Brian was portrayed in the movie "Bomb City" and his story has been documented in countless other shows and specials. When it comes down to it, be nice and take care of each other. Help be apart of the change we need in society. Update to episode: I referenced that Brian's brother was named Mike and that was actually his dad. His brothers name was Jason and I will correct this in the debrief. I messed up my notes and I apologize. In this weeks episode we cover the story of Kelly Anne Bates and what I can only explain as a horrific murder. This is a 10-0 episode which means proceed with caution. It is a hard one to listen to. I think it is important to discuss cases of domestic violence and what can happen when people get in these situations. Unfortunately for Kelly Anne, she doesn't make it out and is tortured to death by her boyfriend.Sources for this episode are:https://www.thescarechamber.com/kelly-anne-bates/https://www.morbidology.com/the-murder-of-kelly-anne-bates/

In December of 1986, Cara Knott, a student at San Diego State University goes missing. Hours later her car is found on a dead end road. Ironically it is named Mercy Road. Kitty Genovese was murdered outside her Queens, New York apartment complex in 1964. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this case but not in a way you might think. Out of this tragedy a new theory would arise called "The Bystander Effect". There is defiantly some speculation about if this theory fits this crime, but there is no doubt the bystander effect is something that happens all across the world. What is the bystander effect? Lets talk about it.
