Text Our Show HostsTonight, Jeremy and I will talk about how to successfully sustain a large group of survivors at a Woodland Bug-Out location during an SHTF event. You're thinking… ahh… it's easy. Provide shelter… Hunt for Protein… Use your LifeStraw… No Worries. And you may be right, if it were you and a couple of friends. But, that's not what I said. You didn't hear correctly, or you weren't paying attention.I said, LARGE group of survivors. Cuz that's the reality of it. Oh, your group may be 4… 6… maybe 8… maybe 10 Preppers strong… But that's not the extent of it.When you factor in Kids, Family, and Friends. Your numbers grow exponentially. You got 4 members in your group… 4 turns into 10… 8 into 18… and 10 group members might as well be 30 or more. That's the reality of it. The math will happen whether you want it to or not. You can make all the Laws and By-Laws for your group that you wan. When SHTF happens. really happens. so bad, that you had to Bug-Out.Human Nature. Compassion. Instincts. mixed in with all that chaos.Translates to. Nothing. Going As Planned. So, As Preppers, Survivalist… as Moms and Dads... as good neighbors and good friends. We Must Plan, in advance for this chaotic Mess of an SHTF Bug-Out Scenario. It just so happens, that we have someone here tonight with the experience and training to inform us of the realities of sustaining a large group of people in this type of scenario. And when I say Experience, I mean it.Jeremy just got back from the woods, where he was on assignment to help train students in the United States Army Special Forces in scenario-based war-games.I don't want to say any more about it, but I will say this…These soldiers, contractors, operators… are the real deal. All those bad-ass men and women you see on movies and tv shows… this is where they become, bad-asses. Bugging Out, is tough. sustaining a large group of people in dangerous circumstances, is tough. There's a lot to talk about.Let's Get To It.Visit HoneyComb Holler on YouTubeTOPSBunker.comPlease Visit Our Affiliate Links to Find Great Preparedness Products:ForceATT 2-Person Camp TentNo Man is an Island by John Donne Hard CoverRhino USA Survival Folding ShovelThe Amish Survival Bible PaperbackTripTips Emergency Pop-Up Toilet SustemThe First-Timers Urban Survival Guide PaperbackWakeman Pop-Up Privacy Tent Change/ShowerPrepper Community - A Group-Based Methodology PaperbackBAOFENG UV-5R 8w HAM Radio KitBAOFENG UV-5RM 10w HAM Radio KitThe BAOFENG Radio Bible PaperbackSawyer Products SP129 Squeeze Water Filtration SystemLightning X First Responder EMT Trauma First Aid KitOLIGHT Baton3 Pro Support the show

This week I was honored to sit down with Nick Lavery. Nick was so gracious with his time, the most humblest of men, he and I had a conversation you absolutely don't want to miss. We didn't get into the events of 2013 that shaped his life. We instead focused on his "why", and the lessons he has learned from a lifetime of never quitting. Come away a better version of yourself for listening to this amazing human being. Even with my limited interaction with Nick, he's inspired me to be a better version of John. We are blessed here at HHAUSA to have some amazing partners, one of those being the Texas based Kniestedt Foundation. Started by James Kniestedt, a veteran of United States Army Special Forces, they work with both Veterans and those currently serving to get them in to the outdoors. The missions of our two organizations are the same and the time has finally come to take things to the next level in the new year.Project Manager Joe Rhodes has organized a highly successful sporting clays fundraiser for several years in the St. Louis area. On April 29th, 2023, the Oregon Sportsman's Club in Oregon Wisconsin will host a similar shoot with all proceeds going back to the Kniestedt Foundation. Historically holding only archery events, it made sense to team up with Rhodes and his expertise to bring further awareness to both of our programs and bring a new crowd to the HHAUSA family.Joe also talks about the continued success of the hunting trips they put on each fall as well as an upcoming bison hunt in the state of Wyoming. Gifted a coveted tag from a longtime donor, female Veteran Channing Spradling hopes to harvest a buffalo in January and we are eager to hear all about that hunt.Rhodes, a full-time teacher by day, discusses the grueling MR340, a cross state endurance race on the Missouri River spanning 340 miles. Completing the journey for a third straight year and raising funds for the foundation, Joe is still waiting for a partner to volunteer to make the trek with him again next summer. One of the best parts of our conversation was when Joe talked at length about his nights on the water, giving him the ability to unpack his thoughts his thoughts in the dark solitude. Coming back a changed and better man each time, I almost felt like I was with Joe as he shared what a meaningful experience it is along with his ever growing gratitude for all those who serve.   We wrap up chatting about how rewarding it is as civilians to work with the Veteran and First Responder community. I feel like I don't say it enough but it is truly a blessing to serve those who serve our country, protect our streets and keep our families safe. We owe a great debt to these men and women and are thankful for likeminded groups like the Kniestedt Foundation wanting to give back and make a difference. For more information, visit www.kniestedt.org and follow them on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. For more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com

John now teaches medical training through Lineage Defense, lineagedefense.com, if you want bad ass medic training and TACMED class, check out his August 1st class. Life throws many things our way. Some welcomed. Some not. We crave control over the details of our existence, but, the truth is, we never know what will happen next—if plans will take shape or be derailed. For Jeff Smith, upon joining the United States Army Special Forces at the ripe age of 17, a certain outlook on living was instilled within in him. This mindset guided Jeff decision by decision, from earning multiple degrees, getting married, learning to fly helicopters, and everything in between. He, like most of us when we're young, never fully knew what his next move would be. But, he never failed to stay prepared, curious, and searching. By doing that, according to Jeff, and having fun along the way, fulfillment is always within reach. When forces try to knock you off course, to wreak havoc on your sense of order, improvise, adapt, and overcome. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/journeymenpdcst/support

“You’ll find there is room for us all” In May 1988, at the age of 20, McVeigh graduated from the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia. While in the military, McVeigh used much of his spare time to read about firearms, sniper tactics, and explosives.[16] McVeigh was reprimanded by the military for purchasing a "White Power" T-shirt at a Ku Klux Klan protest against black servicemen who wore "Black Power" T-shirts around a Military installation, primarily Army. He was a top-scoring gunner with the 25mm cannon of the Bradley Fighting Vehicles used by his 1st Infantry Division. He was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, before being deployed on Operation Desert Storm. Speaking of his experience in Kuwait in an interview before his execution, documented in McVeigh's authorized biography American Terrorist: Timothy McVeigh & the Tragedy at Oklahoma City, he stated he decapitated an Iraqi soldier with cannon fire on his first day in the war and celebrated. He said he was later shocked to be ordered to execute surrendering prisoners and to see carnage on the road leaving Kuwait City after U.S. troops routed the Iraqi army. McVeigh received several service awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal. McVeigh aspired to join the United States Army Special Forces . After returning from the Gulf War, he entered the selection program, but washed out on the second day of the 21-day assessment and selection course for the Special Forces. McVeigh decided to leave the Army and was honorably discharged in 1991. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_McVeigh Editorial -Chase- Public Access America There comes a point I think when it should be mentioned, public access America does not believe violence and anger are ever the solution. We were created in and of the ideals that information is the real power. That being said, the frustration with situations in which a group, race, ANY, are singled out and treated with disregard of laws should be held accountable. We the people have a power that is being hidden away from us by magician politicians that believe and maybe rightfully that we can be silenced. Your silence is their victory, as the writer of this I think McVeigh was right in believing that the attacks at Ruby ridge and Waco went horribly wrong. His shock and outrage were a normal reaction, I do believe as an opinion that his actions were also horribly incorrect. Violence in anyway only provokes violence and justifies the divide. Autopilot 06 - The A-TEAM The A-Team is an American action adventure television series about a fictional group of ex-United States Army Special Forces personnel who work as soldiers of fortune, while on the run from the Army after being branded as war criminals for a "crime they didn't commit". The A-Team was created by writers and producers Frank Lupo and Stephen J. Cannell (who also collaborated on Wiseguy, Riptide, and Hunter) at the behest of Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's Entertainment president. Despite being thought of as mercenaries by the other characters in the show, the A-Team always acted on the side of good and helped the oppressed. The show ran for five seasons on the NBC television network, from January 23, 1983 to December 30, 1986 (with one additional, previously unbroadcast episode shown on March 8, 1987), for a total of 98 episodes.
