The stainless-steel wedge on wheels has become a symbol of Elon Musk's bravado. The man with the midas touch unveiled his Next Big Thing, and a million fans duly got in line with deposits. At the time, Tesla and it's showman CEO could do no wrong. They were on a roll. In his own words, if nobody buys the Cybertruck, Tesla will redesign it to be more conventional. But could a redesign keep the looks whilst making it meet the road regs outside of the USA?Fast forward to now. North American sales have now dried up and regulatory barriers block global expansion, the Cybertruck faces an existential question: can it survive beyond its niche, or is this the beginning of the end for Tesla's most polarising product?Welcome back to a bonus edition of the podcast. My name is Martyn Lee and when I have something which requires a deeper look, you'll sometimes find these bonus shows showing up in your feed. South Korean supplier L&F announced that its $2.9 billion contract to supply battery materials to Tesla has been written down to just $7,386, a reduction of more than 99 percent. The materials were intended for Tesla's 4680 battery cells, which power the Cybertruck. With the Cybertruck selling at a fraction of its production capacity and the $25,000 Tesla cancelled, the 4680 program that Musk promised would halve battery costs has collapsed.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Kilowatt 666 — Show NotesIn this episode of Kilowatt, Bodie wraps up the year with a wide-ranging look at the latest EV news just ahead of Christmas. He breaks down a notable 34% drop in Tesla registrations in the European Union, while pointing out that overall battery-electric vehicle registrations were still up 44%, signaling a shift in the market rather than a collapse. The show also explores BYD's new peer-to-peer home charging feature, which lets owners share and monetize their chargers through the BYD app. Bodie then covers the Cybertruck earning an IIHS Top Safety Plus rating, pushing back against early skepticism. He explains why Volkswagen's ID. Buzz isn't coming to the U.S. in 2026, and why that doesn't mean it's canceled. The episode rounds out with a Ford recall affecting over 270,000 vehicles, a look at Elon Musk's evolving pay package, and a holiday message inviting listeners to share their EV stories as the show heads into 2026.Support the Showhttps://www.supportkilowatt.com/Other PodcastsBeyond the Post YouTubeBeyond the Post PodcastShuffle Playlist918Digital WebsiteNews LinksTesla Registrations Dropped 34.2% in November in European Unionhttps://cleantechnica.com/2025/12/23/tesla-registrations-dropped-34-2-in-november-in-european-union/BYD Now Lets Owners Share Home Chargers Through Their Apphttps://electrek.co/2025/12/21/byd-now-lets-owners-share-home-chargers-through-their-app/Tesla Cybertruck Earns Top Safety Rating—After Everyone Said It Couldn'thttps://www.autoblog.com/news/tesla-cybertruck-earns-top-safety-rating-after-everyone-said-it-couldntTesla Cybertruck Is Top Rated Pickup Truck in Safety Crash Testshttps://www.notateslaapp.com/news/3434/tesla-cybertruck-is-top-rated-pickup-truck-in-safety-crash-tests-ratingsVolkswagen Shelves Its Electric Minibus for the U.S., but Not Foreverhttps://electrek.co/2025/12/19/volkswagen-shelves-electric-minibus-for-us-not-forever/Ford Recalls Over 270,000 Vehicles That Could Roll Away After Parkinghttps://www.autoblog.com/news/recall-ford-rollaway-f150-lightning-maverick-mustang-mach-eShow ArtShow art created by DALL·E*ART PROVIDED BY DALL-eSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/kilowatt. On today's episode, we discuss how rapidly advancing home robotics could lead to “robot crime,” from hacked cleaning bots to liability questions when autonomous machines injure people or pets. The hosts dive into drone and cyber vulnerabilities, including Chinese-made DJI drones, surveillance cameras sending data back to China, and why Washington is pushing to rebuild secure, domestic supply chains for both drones and naval shipbuilding. They explore the economic shock of a Tyson meatpacking plant closure in rural Nebraska, using examples from Louisiana to show how one-factory towns can hollow out and whether education, tax policy, and new industries can save them. Finally, the conversation ranges from Sonic vs. McDonald's competition strategy and the great “pickle placement” debate, to SpaceX bulk-buying Cybertrucks, China's AI chip race, Trump's new “Golden Fleet” of warships, and drone-heavy future warfare after recent U.S. strikes on 71 ISIS-linked targets in Syria. Don't miss it!
In this episode, Pauline sits down with Paola Antonelli, the visionary Senior Curator of Architecture & Design and founding Director of Research & Development at the Museum of Modern Art, whose career has been dedicated to helping people see the extraordinary in the ordinary.Antonelli challenges the idea that great design is about perfection. Instead, she argues, it's about intention: function with a point of view. From jolie-laide objects we can't stop staring at (yes, the Cybertruck) to the lasting joy of a Vespa, she argues that the opposite of beauty isn't ugliness; it's indifference.Together, Pauline and Paola explore secondhand fashion, the sensory limits of “pixel taste,” and why social media demands a stronger critical spine. A playful “design redemption” lightning round reveals the hidden genius of everyday objects—from shopping carts to traffic dividers—before closing with a provocative look at what meaningful design will become by the year 2050.Curious to understand the difference between art and design - and why it matters? From there, the conversation goes unexpectedly educational with whale facts, SeaWorld controversies, and questionable animal behavior, before devolving into fart debates, dog habits, and relationship comedy. The guys also get into basketball championships, the pressure of cooking for your spouse, and a deep dive into the Cybertruck's design, pricing, and safety concerns. The episode wraps with listener shout-outs, final laughs, and a solid finish to another chaotic HOZ Comedy Podcast installment.Tap in, laugh out loud, and share the madness.

Got a dusting of snow yesterday…might have a few more flurries tomorrow morning. Then it's going to be brutally cold on Thursday. Gonna be a lot of people cranking their thermostat this week, but the U.S. Department of Energy recommends you keep it at 68° this winter. Seems a bit warm to me. We talked to Grant Bilse from the Wisco Sports Show just after 8am this morning about his Thanksgiving, the Packer win over the Lions, and the state of the Bucks. Also let you know what's on TV today/tonight and what's new on New Release Tuesday. Jean had a funny story about a pillow. In sports, we talked about last night's Week 13 finale between the Pats & Giants, a look at Week 14 in the NFL, the Bucks lost again last night, Badger basketball returns tomorrow night and the volleyball team kicks off the NCAA D-1 tournament later this week. Plus, Adam Theilen is done with the Vikings for the season, and the Eagles Offensive Coordinator had his house egged after the Philly/Chicago game on Black Friday. Today is Giving Tuesday, so please consider making a donation to a charitable organization! It's also "Bartender Appreciation Day", so we talked about what makes a good bartender. Cool story about a pet rabbit that helped save a family from a house fire, and check out this dude who just set a world record for running a half marathon while wearing a BUNCH of t-shirts. If next day shipping isn't fast enough for you, Amazon is testing a "30 minutes or less" delivery system! Unfortunately, it's only in two cities for now. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a 500lb black bear that got stuck under a guy's house, a #FloridaMan who test drove a Cybertruck…kept it for two days…and then smashed it up with a hammer, a dude in China who had a plastic cigarette lighter in his stomach for 30 years, and Kinki Kelli gets sentenced for peeing all over everything.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This Thanksgiving Sesh kicks off with solar storms, weird weather predictions, and Cybertruck slander, then slides into what most of us really care about this time of year, surviving family time, keeping our sanity, and making the food taste better with a little THC. You two riff on Friendsgiving, delinquent childhood experiments with fire and dry ice, and how cannabis turns awkward holidays into something you might actually look forward to.In this episode we get into:Thanksgiving, but make it weirdSolar flares, shifting currents, wild weather predictions, and how all that background chaos matches the vibe of the holidays when you are stuck around people you do not always like. Rotten Bananas and holiday strainsThe Rotten Bananas strain holding down the sesh, plus what you are all smoking for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving this year.Edibles as emotional armorHow a good edible or tincture can take the edge off forced family time, why dose control matters, and why 100 mg tincture droppers are for pain and sleep, not for casually dumping into scrambled eggs. How to build a cannabis Friendsgiving without wrecking everyoneCanna butter as the MVP, using infused butter after the turkey comes out instead of roasting with it, dosing mashed potatoes person by person, and why tinctures and oils make it way easier to keep things predictable. Infused dessert ideas that actually make senseInfused gravies, apple and pumpkin pies, canna sugar, homemade infused whipped cream, coconut oil tricks, and how to keep flavor good while sneaking cannabinoids into the holiday table. Volcano bags, bongs, and shared ritualsTurning Thanksgiving into a mellow session instead of a stress test, from bringing the Volcano to hosting a proper Friendsgiving where everyone knows what they are getting into.Gratitude without the cheesy speech circleHow serving others, doing small good things without needing a “thank you,” and sharing flower becomes its own gratitude practice, especially when you do not vibe with everyone in the room. If you are planning a cannabis Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving, this episode gives you a bunch of ways to infuse the meal, keep everyone safe, and still enjoy the chaos without white knuckling the whole day.Save on Dr Dabber with Code: Cannabisschool10Save on Storz & Bickel with Code : CannabisschoolSave on Santa Cruz Shredder with Code: CSP10Save on Bomb Erigs with Code: CSPScore 100 on your test
Nikola Tesla was an acknowledged genius. He had countless patents for a huge variety of inventions – the first remote control, the Tesla Coil, alternating current, and best of all he had nothing to do with the Cybertruck. So is he said he had invented a death ray, you would have to believe him. Or would you?
TRC hosts the ACT Expo – America's premier clean commercial vehicle show – and helps fleets find the funding and resources they need to decarbonize. On today's episode of Quick Charge, we've got TRC's Sr. VP of incentives Joe Annotti here to give us a 30,000 ft view of the road ahead. We've also got a sneak peek at the agenda for the 2026 ACT Expo in Las Vegas, which is set to spotlight the full spectrum of technologies driving fleet advancement today, from digital and connected solutions to low-carbon and zero-emission vehicles. More than 12,000 attendees are expected from the fleet, shipping, OEM, utility, infrastructure, energy, and telematics sectors will be on hand, with a few dealers and policymakers to spice things up. But, of course, the biggest buzzwords will be AI, autonomy, software-defined vehicles, and incentive-stacking – all of which might mean something else to a commercial fleet than it does to a soccer dad. "The accelerated development and deployment of the range of digital solutions – on top of the increasingly wide array of powertrain technologies and fuel choices available to today's commercial customers – is truly astounding," says Erik Neandross, President of the Clean Transportation Solutions group at TRC, producers of ACT Expo. "It is an incredibly exciting time in our industry, but one that we also know can be dizzying for fleets to keep up with it all." come together for four days of peer-to-peer education, real-world case studies, and direct access to the people and solutions shaping the industry I've included a few articles from last year's ACT Expo in the show notes, below, as well as some links that we reference in the interview. Coach Colin : https://www.youtube.com/@coachcolin 00:00:00 – Meet Coach Collin: conspiracy YouTuber origins, YouTube strikes, Union of the Unwanted and learning to tiptoe around platform rules. 00:04:50 – Alex Jones Clips of the Week: Fetterman "cyborg" on Rogan, rants about ancient studio cameras, bankruptcy auction math and a torrent of quotes that guarantee no YouTube monetization. 00:14:08 – Where OBDM actually lives (Spotify, Rumble, Twitch, Twitter), how they handle edits for YouTube, and the decision to leave the insane Jones montage fully intact. 00:18:41 – Ian/"In Carol" stream breakdown: Rob McCoy's sermon vanishes mid-watch, backup found on Apple Podcasts, then an instant flood of "just retire man" Twitch bots that looks like targeted harassment of a small creator. 00:24:18 – Threat-modeling the bot swarm: JavaScript trackers vs malware vs state-level profiling of dissident channels, plus why Ian's modest van-life income and Candace Owens ties might still put him on a watchlist. 00:33:51 – Tesla Cybertruck bomb at Trump's Vegas hotel: Green Beret on leave, Turo-rented Cybertruck, explosives and a now-classified phone manifesto describing gravity-propulsion drones launched from submarines. 00:38:57 – Butler County and Charlie Kirk parallels: same kinds of enemies (intel community, defense contractors, radicals), bizarre rooftop security failures and fast, tidy crime-scene cleanups that feel pre-scripted. 00:43:08 – Trump's shooting as message, not stunt: why staging it himself would be nearly impossible, Schumer's "six ways from Sunday" warning, and the sense that Trump is oddly content with a murky investigation. 00:53:02 – Epstein as "Mr. Deep State": Maxwell-to-Epstein handoff, Zorro Ranch, cloning obsessions, Powerball luck, Mongolia-Israel security deals, Harvard office access and a role far beyond "simple" sex trafficking. 00:56:45 – The files vs Trump's legacy: Cash Patel, Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi's conflicting claims about thousands of hours of tape, and why the base wants names released before Epstein becomes Trump's eternal asterisk. 01:04:29 – Dan Aykroyd's The UnBelievable and the Ariel School sighting: kids in Zimbabwe, telepathic "save the trees" messages, and using the case to argue UFOs are long-running interdimensional or demonic entities. 01:08:38 – CE5 sky-summoning, Crowley, Jack Parsons, Tesla and Hollywood rituals: "biological drone" greys, summoning things that pretend to be aliens, and celebrity plastic surgery as possible demonic face-morphing experiment. 01:14:55 – Madonna and Lil' Kim as "grey-coded" figures, then wacky news: Taco Bell's limited Baja Blast pie, a listener buying a half-eaten one for Thanksgiving, and using junk food as a window into cultural weirdness. 01:18:44 – NASA's awful comet 3I/ATLAS blue-dot photos, its quiet promotion to intelligence agency status, speculation about reverse-engineering evil interdimensionals and a tangent into Megadeth's dream of a final show on the moon. 01:33:02 – Stolen child's brain and organ markets: rare disease research derailed when her brain is sold off, theories about rich collectors, legal rulings that organs can be resold, and wild pricing for skulls and bones online. 01:41:29 – Linux Torvalds on "vibe coding": AI as okay for learning but bad for maintenance, dev layoffs, and the hosts' own experience with AI code review, hallucinated links and having to scold chatbots like lazy employees. 01:46:49 – Chatbots melting minds: Canadian user pushed into math-savior psychosis by ChatGPT, multi-plaintiff lawsuits after suicides, a man who fell in love with his bot wife, and the theory that these systems are temporary demon housing. 01:59:05 – Pumpkin-everything Thanksgiving: stuffed ravioli, cheesecake crumble, pumpkin butter ice cream, then Coach Collin's plugs, OBDM's schedule, Discord jokes and the "keep watching the skies" sign-off aimed at NASA's lousy photos. Perhaps no single object embodies our dystopian, oligarchical, ugly present more than the Cybertruck—the hulking spacecraft-cum-tank that Elon Musk has foisted on the world. The Cybertruck is unpleasant to look at, unsafe to drive, and, judging from its anemic sales, unwanted by most of the public. It has been described as an even bigger flop than the infamous Ford Edsel. But, as writer Maya Vinokour discovered, none of that seems to matter to the Cybertruck's most loyal fans. In "What Was the Cybertruck," a piece for our November issue, Vinokour journeyed deep into the heart of the small but fierce Cybertruck cult, and found a group of people (or, more accurately, men) eager to defend the car against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Our Sponsors:* Check out Avocado Green Mattress: https://avocadogreenmattress.com* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/THENATIONAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

This week's episode started with the usual existential sigh before tumbling straight into the corporate bloodbath. Amazon chopped 14,000 jobs under the noble banner of “embracing AI,” which CEO Andy Jassy insists isn't about money—despite swimming Scrooge McDuck–style in profit. GM's cutting 1,700 workers, YouTube's dangling “voluntary” buyouts, and economists can't decide if AI is killing jobs or if the economy's just trash. Microsoft's winning either way, sitting pretty on OpenAI's planned $1 trillion IPO, while Meta stock cratered because Zuckerberg's still shoveling billions into the AI bonfire instead of quietly burying the metaverse. Meanwhile, Elon managed to cram a week's worth of disasters into a single news cycle: Tesla's being probed for its idiotic “Mad Max” mode, recalling thousands more Cybertrucks because they can't figure out glue, launching Grokipedia (Wikipedia's evil twin), and turning Truth Social into a crypto casino. Somewhere between the chaos, more people tuned into a fake NVIDIA livestream than the real one, and the only vaguely uplifting story was a grieving family using an AI chatbot to hack a $195K hospital bill down to $33K.In media misery, we soothed our nuclear anxiety with A House of Dynamite, tolerated Welcome to Derry, rolled our eyes at Stranger Things 5, and confirmed Slow Horses still rules. Music listeners, please stop streaming fascism—cancel Spotify. On the tech toy front, Grammarly's having an identity crisis as “Superhuman,” Affinity caved to the subscription gods, and Apple's prepping to inject ads into Maps because the world wasn't already annoying enough. The chaos didn't stop there: a rogue Goodreads librarian rewrote Trump's book listings to protest censorship, Cursor 2.0 actually impressed us with a working currency converter, and Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do About It turned out to be the perfect title for the entire digital era.Sponsors:Private Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. As America hurtles toward a full-scale pagan revival, Miles exposes how Hollywood glorifies witchcraft, celebrities cast spells, and youth swap Bibles for tarot cards. With insights from his collaboration with the late Charlie Kirk, who penned the foreword to his book Pagan Threat, Miles delivers a stark diagnosis and a bold battle plan: deepen discipleship, reclaim the public square, and resist the encroaching darkness. Is "woke" ideology a religion in disguise? GUEST: Pastor Lucas Miles is a bestselling author of Woke Jesus and Pagan Threat, a fearless voice exposing spiritual threats in modern culture. As Senior Director of Turning Point USA Faith, he collaborated closely with Charlie Kirk, who hailed him as a "warrior for Christ." Host of Church and State on Epoch Times and co-host of The Church Boys podcast, Miles has interviewed stars like Mario Lopez, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Jim Caviezel. Featured on Fox News, Newsmax, and CBN, he equips Christians to combat pagan revivals through discipleship, evangelism, and cultural engagement.
