Talk about things that are fun and interesting... and anything that isn't all the things the internet wants us to pay attention to.
We're BACK! It's me, Jeff here. It's my fault. I mean it's Nick's fault too in the sense that he doesn't handle all my responsibilities for me but I one time tried to use that excuse at school and they just didn't have any interest in hearing my plea. Well anyways, this is a podcast. It exists. The episode # may seem odd to you. Thats because the other ones did happen, but presently are not released because I had about 165 things come up so far this year. We talk about the Mario Movie, Artemis II Crew, Margaret Hamilton and how bad I am at Tea. But thats fine, because AN EPISODE ACTUALLY GOT RELEASED.
Patreon episode that accidentally was a real episode, dropping it on both feeds because IT'S THE SUPERBOWL TODAY SO OF COURSE WE ARE. This one is a little weird because it is a patreon episode at the start, so no intro and a requisite amount of NBA talk beforehand. Thank you all, enjoy! And, of course, Go Chiefs!
THE NEW PODCAST IS HERE. And it has a name. And it isn't based on any inappropriate horror films. And we also have some non-evergreen content regarding some NFL stuff from a week ago... And "MEGA" is a word. And we're done here. Surf's up!
Merry (late) Christmas! Between Holidays, illness, and lots of things in between, its been uhhhhh.... hard to get these out. But here we are, with at least a proper end of year episode. Episode 82 had some technical difficulties and may find the light of day buttttt no promises.
HELLO AND WELCOME to another episode! Hey- you! Happy slightly belated thanksgiving. This week we talk about a number of fun things, including but not limited to multiple ways to loose hundreds of millions of dollars. You're welcome.
This one was a favorite, especially the back half of the episode. F1 Races, over the top marketing... who could ask for more?
Diving further down the AI Future of algorithms and their future in our world. I am sure it will be fine. Hear the conclusion of the F1 saga, as well as a "great" brand deep dive next episode! (Almost out of the covid, travel induced episode backlog!) It will be out sometime next week, and then we'll be back on the normal release cadence.
Hey... is this thing still on?? WHOAH there we go. Sorry ya'll. We'll talk about it more later, but boyyyyyy howdy has it been fun. Or, perhaps more accurately, "Fun"
Well- that chapter is done! Pastor Jef... for better or for worse... richer or for poorer, etc etc. And, audiobook speed. The obvious following convo.
Kids grow up and go to school. Bucket Lists. And… AI problems.
Glass is an interesting thing. Today, I talk about it twice. Followed by how much we (or how little we) read, followed by BILL RUSSELL P2 of course! This is irredeemably late, but enjoy!
Selling a car. Boy do I have a story for y'all next week. This week however, JWST and Mars stuff. And... The late, great Bill Russell. As a person. To be continued...
Notification Consternation. Learning to program with good vidya games. Books! LOTTERY! Who could do anything other than enjoy this episode. Good team effort this week. Cheers.
FINALLY. IT IS HERE. First we had to talk about books and whatever, but then JSWT time. A link to the commercial here. Sorry this is a bit late, travels and holidays, and other usual excuses.
Sorry this is late! It was a fun one. We even had a brief scare that we had lost the audio... but here we are... with my worst horror documented in podcast immortality.
This week we talk about the weather. And Sports. And moon rovers. Nice.
THIS week. This week. We had a good ol time... talking about travel, media, and how McDonald's did a number on us (and continues to do so) with their Hasbro fun.
This week we have a good time catching up on some stuff, a look back at some old things I haven't thought of in... decades now at this point? And also an experience with the always interesting Kansas weather.
This... episode... was a single story and real friend distraction that amalgamated into a podcast episode. One of my favorites. There WILL BE more info on our support strategy going into this year. Just haven't been able to finish that because... real life. THAT SAID, thank you so much for listening, and I hope you enjoyed the show!
Pickle. Ball. Athletes, Twitter, and why they don't mix sometimes. Hurting oneself. AND. ANNNNNDDDD some good old fashioned video game fun.
Who could even know with those oxford commas?! Hope you enjoy this week! We talk about Hadesville, an author that broke Kickstarter, some fallout that teased turning into a military coup. But definitely didn't, so nbd. Some other stuff in here too. Enjoy!
Thanks to Brian for the tip on the ship being recovered after over a century! I am very excited to accept our awards for this great accomplishment. We also talk about a number of things, including... farm stuff. But, no spoilers.
Concerns about crypto, what is our pillow game, and then the end of the 90s/early 00s... and a little game that was special from it. Shout out to ebay.
THIS IS PODCAST ROBOT. LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE. What does gaming mean for kids these days? And, a survival story that sets the bar for survival stories.
What in the world?! This is dropping wayyy early because we accidentally talked about the NFL in the main episode and we can't have that getting out of date unless absolutely necessary. Which, it isn't.
This episode may be wrought with bad facts. I am sorry. This was a fun one though, and I hope we all learned something- mostly that we all need to learn something.
As promised, here is the link. This week was a lot of fun, especially given its proximity to the holidays. Hope everyone has a safe and great new years!
This week is all about the important things. Like mRNA vaccines, good TV series, and my computer preferences, purchases and opinions. Here is a video of Katalin and Drew. They're the best. Thank you for the support over at patreon.com/tywsap!
This week's episode brings us tales from the depths of Amazon reviews… the interesting thing that is email marketing (or, as some might call it… spam…) and then Databases and the interesting history of one of the people that shaped how we do data today. Check us out at tywsap.com and thank you to our supporters on Patreon! Oracle's HQ
Hello! We're taking the show biweekly at least for now. I give some level headed explanation at the top, but the byline is pretty evident through this episode, lol. ANYWAYS, we talk about some DANG good college food, some upcoming cinema fun, and a very specific topic about how to handle life when you have 1000x to do... which is appropriate. Happy Monday on a Tuesday.
TWITTER? INSTAGRAM? What are you doing?! TWIHMS receives a great honor, a discussion on TV vs Video Games, and then also we talk about memory. Or at least so far as I believe I am remembering correctly... Thank you all for your patience this week! Apologies this is 2.5 days later than normal. Hoping that things are back in order come next week.
IT HAS BEEN AN ENTIRE YEAR?! Thank you SO much for the support, this has been an absolute blessing to do. This week we talk about all kinds of awkward, some follow up, a discussion about frozen fish, and WHAT is the Metaverse? I hope you enjoy!
Oh, before I even get started, at the end... Nick is totally wrong about something and I just let it be. He did text me to tell me it was wrong... but, I feel like it is more poetic this way. THIS WAS A WEIRD ONE though ya? Like MAN we're bad at this objectively speaking. That part about Semantic Satiation was fun though.
Okay but really. Which one of you took my broom... Aside from that, this week we talk about a number of things I just should have sent Nick, but instead I ate some sushi I was allergic to and decided it would be a good idea to do on the podcast. We talk about some phone stuff, and then finally about some unintended consequences. Sorry this one was a day late, there is a good chance next week may also be a half a day or so late but we'll see. I super appreciate ya'll and I hope you have a great week!
A specific tipping problem, Nick has an update (Okay but actually I cant remember what that meant or if I cut it or not) and then a bit about computer viruses ...but most of all, Samy is my hero. Thank you Patreon supporters!
Downhill biking is terrifying, and also awesome. Ted Lasso is a show made custom for me. And Nursery Rhymes are uhhhh... terrible.
Nick is a pre-intro bully, I am a sick boy, flight is weird... but Canadian Syrup Cartel drama is weirder. Thank you so much for listening, and our patrons for their support of this show!
We start to consider the fact that we need to pick a new subtitle... Kick Back is in its final weeks. We also talk about sports, space, and soda. Thank you to everyone that makes this show possible
We're both two old men yelling at the clouds, talking about the NFT based future of video games... and a story from half a decade ago about the center of the American Internet... which happens to be somewhat nearby to one of us. I will let you guess at who.
This is the last one in August... which means next month we're into fall, which means its going to be cold soon, which means we've done this for a long long time. What were we talking about? This week, the late Nick Ajer (not dead, just not timely) was willing to share about the four day work week after our discussions around contacts, driving, and editing... sort of.
This week we talk about rationality and what that means... and then I (Jeff) share the most fun topic yet in these 43 episodes. Its about advertising... and I bought a thing off eBay to make it happen.
This week we talk about the smells, sounds, and tastes that mean things to us... and then! The Tour de France! And also advertising because we just can't help ourselves.
This week we read too many books, supernovas (or is it supernovae?) are cool and so are the people that found them (while it was still people). And then, lightbulbs.
Ahhh, we've reached the 40s. This week we talk about the fact that I am in fact quite jumpy. And also other things, and also the story of how we got to the great Elevators we use today. So it goes.
Well... this one was a day late. Jeff did bad. I am sorry! This week we talk about printers again? and also the worst quiz show ever, and then Nick breaks down a story about ethics and then Jeff and Nick talk about Bounded Ethicality and forget they're doing a podcast for 20 minutes.... so I am sure this was worth the wait?
This week we talk about how my daughter is brutally independent, and NBA quiz for Nick, birds are weird, and Bono. But not the one you're thinking of. Also how do you say his name you might ask? Well, you'll hear it incorrectly about 50% of the time because I switch how I said it seemingly at random. Also at one point I list things and I say "2nd" twice. Also skipped one of Nick's topics. Look, you get what ya pay for folks. Unless you are a patron supporter, in which case you get slightly less than what you pay for but we love you.
After a brief interruption from our friend Craig, this week we talk about sauces, a return to normalcy, and one very interesting marketing campaign from the late aughts. As always, thank you patrons for supporting the show! patreon.com/tywsap
Happy 5th of July! The day of picking up all the fireworks out of your driveway... or at least that is what I am up to. Aside from editing podcasts that should have been posted already. Things we talk about... we got definitive feedback from everyone that my text messaging habits are unacceptable, some days you just don't care, golf, and we talk about some books. This was kind of a weird one, I cut my own main topic. TLDR my house almost flooded and I had to siphon gas to prevent it... it was an interesting story but not particularly worthy of the half hour it took to tell it. I promise.
This week: I don't like scary movies, I hurt myself in spectacular fashion for the world to see, thoughts on home video, and we talk about a taboo topic.
