Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Dying well is a right and responsibility of everyone. It is also an inevitability for everyone. Why then do we struggle in our efforts to deny this and make every awkward effort to avoid it? It is said that we should die a little every day. It is said that children deal with it better than adults. Why then do we seem so surprised and uncomfortable with this aspect of a ‘great life’? Why do some see it as a solution to their lives??? We shall explore some of this jungle on our last show of Turning Point – a GPS for Success www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison I love my enthusiasm for “what’s next”!? And then I marvel at my surprise and dismay for what follows, forgetting that the goal is never the goal… even though this is a discovery I made and for which I coined the phrase – the goal is never the goal – many years ago. The latest ‘surprise’ was in registering for an online course for Addictions and Beyond Kundalini Yoga. When the trainer asked me what addictions I wanted to overcome, I was startled. Addictions? And then, quick on the heals of that, realizing that yes! I do have one - being a perpetual junkie for growth and development. Do you have one? www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison How do we reconcile the difficulty of being a diaspora versus our nature as mobile creatures – nomads by nature and as such learn best when ‘in movement”? When the familiar is radically displaced because of violence versus the transformative experience of exchanging comfort zones for the unfamiliar and building our comfort quotient with failure – the unpredictable? “Death is our constant companion, and it is death that gives each person’s life its true meaning.” Paulo Coelho www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison For years, and with increased intensity in the past few months, there has been a swelling tide of people migrating from their home country with interesting reactions and responses from nations around the world. Last week – the first week of September, there was a Turning Point when the picture of a small, drowned child – 3 years old – washed up on a shore, flooded the media, and, awakening consciousness riveted the world. What does this mean to our personal theology – the nature of humanity and of our view of life? www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Working with material from Mike Dooley, we will “learn how to focus your thoughts, choose your words, and decide upon the physical steps you need to take in order to achieve the changes you desire”. Turning Point – a GPS for Success will explore success elements, the role of stability, and the learn-able navigational skills and practices that can help us on the journey of the life of a business and the business of a life. We look at what is “It” that keeps us running harder & faster, relentless in the pursuit thereof – the “It” factor? Why is it that we get smarter with technology, connect more broadly with Social Media, travel further afield than ever and yet continue to destroy ourselves (& others) with war, gender abuses, medication, and a growing incidence of disease to name but a few? Isn’t it time for a “Turning Point”? www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison My fascination and enthusiasm for life continues to grow –no matter what’s happening…stretching my heart open for longer and longer periods of time…and feel vulnerable without being victimized…hold my boundaries without being resentful, or beating myself up afterwards…kick up my heels and dance around like a fool…then revel in those moments of deep peace…and ”go back to grazing”. Life is a river flowing through us…what if we lived as though this IS the prescription for our future best self – the one we choose to live into? www.judithlharrison.com

Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Whereas last week we visited the power of mindfulness, commitment, and questions. This week we will further embrace the focus on mindfulness, questions, and letting go of attachments; commitments notwithstanding. “Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison…widening our circle…in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.” P 255, Mindsight, The New Science of Personal Transformation”, Daniel J. Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Having been clinically trained and practicing as a psychotherapist over the past twenty plus years, I thought I had a pretty good handle on the constituents of ‘on being human’… but it was just one more box I had crawled into and now get to bust out from. Questioning Perspective: Are you and individual first and then a relationship? Or, are you a relationship first and then an individual? Come on over and have a listen. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Over the past three weeks we have been cruising the waters of personalities, having stopped in the “D”, the “I”, the “S” ports of call, arriving now at The “C” of the personality seas. If ever we are to embark on a well thought our journey, we would not want o leave home without our detail-compliant and ever correct “C”. However, have you ever wondered why a certain someone is ‘driving you crazy’ with their endless questions, and perhaps seemingly with no particular purpose??? It could be a “c” in your midst; I have one of those in mine… they want every little intimate detail about everything…Come and listen for the challenge and the value a “C” brings to a world of wonders. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Are You Being “Suckered” by Your Best Trait? As we cruise through the fascination of various unique personality ‘ports of call’, we arrive at the soothing, soft “South Sea” waters disembarking at the “S” port of call. Our fair weather “S” folks are sweet, steady, stable – in short the glue of all groups, families and organizations. However, they could be thought of as an endangered species… Come to this Port and hear more as to why and how they can be preserved. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison OHHH – THE HEADY AROMA OF OUR SANGUINE TEMPERAMENT! This “character” is said to be Inspirational, Impressive, Influencing – they spend a great deal of their effervescence going ‘over the top’. Fun to be around and yet possibly exhausting and perhaps even a little annoying at times with their “excessive happiness” – ask my husband…J They are fun to be around and you won’t want to miss this ‘port of call’. Invite your friends for the ‘sure to be a party’ atmosphere. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison AHHH – OUR BELOVED “D’S” THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ‘GET ‘ER DONE’ AND WHO DIE FIRST… ROHM SAYS WE GIVE THANKS FOR OUR WONDERFUL “D’s” because without them nothing would ever get done. They are drivers and doers. And, says Dr. Rohm, they die first because if they don’t learn counterpoints, they wear themselves out with so much nervous energy. This might even be you? Come on board and DISCover more about this wonderful and challenging ‘’character’’ trait. They have needs too… www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison TODAY we begin our CRUISE through “Positive Personality Profiles”. “Anyone knows that you should approach certain animals differently, and treat them differently, based on what you know about them. The same is true about people. But, you say, aren’t we all more or less the same? AHA – alas, this is where we go awry and things go amok. We are left feeling bruised, confused, and possibly even have been cause in the matter of abuse. Wouldn’t you prefer to know – and be equipped to practise knowing – ‘with whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?’ Join us on the cruise of a lifetime – discover some familiar ports and some very exotic foreign places with new ‘sea legs’… www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison “NO ONE IS SO GOOD THAT HE HAS NO BAD IN HIM, AND NO ONE IS SO BAD THAT HE HAS NO GOOD IN HIM.” ---NAPOLEON HILL In the time of Christopher Columbus the prevailing belief was that the world was flat, this belief, universally held to be factually true became the (I don’t know what I don’t know) context for all manner of thinking, deciding, and behaving. The same can be said of humans in how we hold certain limiting beliefs of ourselves/others and behave as though they are the straight bill of goods. How do you feel about the Omar Khadr case? www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison To be successful in life – like any game to which we are committed to win at - we all need a detailed plan or set of instructions to guide us in getting from where we are to where we want to go. And, even if you consider yourself to have achieved success already, you still need to continue your success education and evolutionarily journey. It is where you find your juice for sustainability in an ever-changing world. To grow will always require a new set of structures and reference points – this is inherent in what it is to grow :) www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Of course, many will recognize this show title as the title of a bestseller by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph. D. A mentor once told me I had to learn to love being out of control. This was shocking wisdom coming from a highly organized and self-disciplined individual guiding me on how to build a successful business. That sounded like a catastrophe to me… But, I think that first we get to learn from our stress and secondly, to know how to manage the inevitable, and thirdly how to discern between eustress versus distress. How can we best live our life on THRIVE? www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison To be successful in life – like any game we play with commitment – we all need a detailed plan or set of instructions to guide us in getting from where we are to where we want to go…and, in fact to even determine where DO we want to go! And, if you consider yourself to have achieved success already, you still need to revise and revivify your success education. If you are walking, talking, breathing… there is more to do and more to grow into. Join us on an exploration of some thoughts on a Roadmap to Success with America’s top intellectual minds, including your host for Turning Point – GPS for Success. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Ever bother to really wonder at whence ‘the moody blues’? Usually we are more likely to criticize or judge another – or even ourselves – for our moodiness. We are programmed to think that we should be nice, pleasant, thoughtful of others and so on. But what about the vicissitudes of our emotions? If we have emotions and responses, wouldn’t we be well served to check them out as wonderful guideposts?! Psychiatrist Julie Holland, in her new release: “Moody Bitches” sheds some very interesting scientific data on moods and truth-telling. We shall explore the landscape of moods, science, and relationships in this hour of Turning Points. www.judithlharrison.com
Judith believes people are designed and meant to thrive, living a path of personal Greatness, joy, and satisfaction. She has dedicated her life to helping people close the gap & clear the clutter between where they are in life and where they want to be. “By capturing the very essence of DaVinci’s life and genius – the seemingly perfect imagination of mind, body, spirit, and soul - …a discovery and understanding of the boundlessness of our own full human potential.” This is from the back cover of a book: How to Think Like Leonardo daVinci, by Michael J. Gelb Using the book as a guide, we will look at Seven Steps to Genius Every Day. One of my faves here is all about LISTENING! ‘Layered Listening. Listen for Silence. Listening “…opportunity to deepen auditory perspicacity…” Leonardo says that “The five senses are ministers of the soul.” www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison “Life is a marathon. Fortunately, running is good for your heart, good for your body, good for your lungs. Yet it’s where you’re running to – and why – which, in the end, will determine whether you win this race or not.” The Art of Life, Joan Chittister This quote sets the pace and context for a look at living life well and why looking at the elements that contribute to winning this race matters. www.judithlharrison.com
Turning Point- a GPS for your Success with Host Judith L. Harrison Today we will explore the art of listening and the challenges to effective and persuasive communication… How do we listen? Why listen? How is Leadership empowered by the quality of our capacity to listen as a tool for “winning ways” in the business of life. What is leadership and what is NOT leadership. Care to listen? www.judithlharrison.com
Virginia Satir, a phenomenal leader in my field of psychotherapy says we connect through our samenesses but we grow through our differences. However, though attracted to differences, we must beware to not become abusive in dealing with differences when ‘familiarity breeds contempt…’ Our show today features Jocelyn Burgener of Naked Under My Coat, a book of prose and poetry. Our focus will be abuse and domestic violence. www.judithlharrison.com
Karen Collacutt, money coach for entrepreneurs, helps people build bridges between their personal and business money. She says: “If you want control over something in your life you have to take responsibility. Control over your Money Life is NOT best served by a dictator or dominatrix, but by a trusted friend or loving parent. Take ownership of your money situation. Get in relationship with your money.” Take one small step. https://pl120.isrefer.com/go/manifesto/Judithlharrison/and discover the one thing that is stopping you from the success you want in your business – and in your life. Who’s Got Your Back and Dare To Be Yourself…sounds innocent enough, right? But! What if the initial premise of “who I am…” is off then what exactly is being protected as a self?! Increasingly the wisdom that is coming out exposes the myth of fearlessness. Increasingly people are crying for more happiness and want a way to find their way… Today’s Turning Point will explore some of these myths or misunderstandings and where to turn instead. www.judithlharrison.com
“Naked Under My Coat…Writing Under the Influence of Parkinson’s", is the title of a recently published book of Prose and Poetry by author Jocelyn Burgener who is our guest today. The Power of the Spoken Word and whence the images for which WORD is symbolic… This week has offered profound confrontations with ourselves, our beliefs, our rules, roles and expectations. And also, where do we go when where we always ‘went’ is no longer providing us the roadmap to which we had become accustomed? www.judithlharrison.com
The Power of the Spoken Word is made so by the act of powerful listening.. What is happiness and why is it tweeted as #1 in goals expressed as a resolution for 2015? Yes! That is correct… wanting more happiness has been tracked on tweets as that which is the most desired element and stated #1 (top 5) in tweets as a resolution. And how does this get reflected through listening? “No friend or lover, no husband or wife, no community or commune will be able to put to rest our deepest cravings for unity and wholeness…Friendship and love cannot develop in the form of an anxious clinging to each other. They ask for gentle fearless space ( in which true listening can occur and thereby happiness…) in which we can move to and from each other.” P30 Reaching Out by J. M. Nouwen Does it surprise you learn that a majority of people are resolved to find more happiness in 2015? www.judithlharrison.com
This Holiday Season brings us face to face with ourselves more than any other holiday, I believe. There is such a push for festivities, giftings, and the drive to be joyous… I think. But what about those who do not feel the joy, the love, the hope? Also, though primarily riding on the Christian explanation for ‘what is Christmas’, what about those among us that do not get the religious message but celebrate anyway? Or, perhaps, want the Christian, deeper meaning and are left with a sense of “empty”? Wherein lies the truth of Joy? Or Faith? Where? What? How? How do we get back to a sense of Belief… Unbroken? Jack Gilbert says: “We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world.” Let’s talk about Joy. www.judithlharrison.com

Retreats, Seasons, and Reasons... featuring a Grail Springs newsletter and highlights on a post-modern reflection on what we used to refer to as "Sabbath" moments. Grail Springs says: "No mud, no Lotus". In advocacy for retreats, or "Sabbath" moments the newsletter has this to say: "...if we just press pause for a few moments longer... the Omnipotent Beauty of it all reveals itself to us." What if a 'life-giving' quality of living depended upon taking time to breathe and get present to presence: retreats, or "Sabbath" moments? Would you...? How much of you are are you? Mostly we are busy being, doing, pretending, defending parts of ourselves, projections from others or projections onto others. None of this is being a clean, clear, strong stand of my best me - The only real me to be. In often reflecting as to why people can't hold onto their dreams, I come up puzzled. But in reflecting on how much we are socialized into being something for someone else, I get it... Isn't it time for your Turning Point? I can be reached at judithlharrison@rogers.com orwww.judithlharrison.com
WE ARE EXCTED TO RETURN WITH WYNNE AND THE ANGELS TODAY - LIVE! So!!! this means that you will be able to call in to the show during our broadcast and be "the show"... what we means that Wynne will be taking your Life Path questions and she will work with your angels to answer your question for you. You can also reach me at judithlharrison@rogers.com www.judithlharrison.com
As you may have heard from our show last week - Wynne and The Angels - we all have purpose and purpose is a natural energizer. Conversely, not being on purpose we leave us stressed and ultimately, if left to extremes, ill, dying to be real. "Your work in life must be your religion, whatever your occupation may be." This is taken from Bowl of Saki, Oct 19 and the commentary goes on to add that our purpose is to become more living, to allow the soul to live more...let the soul express itself in every aspect and it will surely fulfill the PURPOSE (bold print mine) of life." When we are 'on PURPOSE' we then must set priorities:-) In a Blog written this week by Krista Harrison, she asks also whether your priorities are being defined by negativity or positivity.. She goes on to ask "What have you done today or this week that really reflects who you are and what you love to do? Better yet, do you know what you lobe to do?" www.kristaharrison.com If not for you, then who will be? Is this where we lose the battle of weight? We will explore where you are developmentally in all of this on Turning Point - a GPS for YOUR Success this week You can listen in or reach me at www.Judithlharrison.com
This week on Turning Point - a GPS for Your Success we call on the angels to guide us on Life Paths calling with Wynne Thornley. Join me with Wynne as we explore with the Angels. You can reach Judith @ www.judithlharrison.com and/or Wynnethornley@gmail.com
Last week when speaking with one of the producers, she made a comment to the effect that the live radio shows are entities. Though I had not thought of it in these terms, when she said it and I heard it, I knew that to be true and agreed. This brings up the question of "How do YOU Listen"? Do you listen as a habit of thought? or Do you listen merely for 'fact'? Do you know how you listen? A pet peeve of mine is when trying to share a deeply meaningful position and someone responds with something like"...yeah, I know that." C. Otto Scharmer says "Structures of Attention Determine the Path of Social Emergence". Are you an "already always way of being/listening" ? You can call in or e-mail judithlharrison@rogers.com
"To Be or Not To Be, that is the question Is it better to live or to die?" It has been said that this phrase is probably the best known line from all drama or literature (see 'The Phrase Finder'). Though I am not an expert on Shakespearean literature, and though I do not intend to debate the intention inside the context of Hamlet, the phrase speaks to me today inside the context of living life well and, of all things, how the Network marketing fit into this!!!? I listened to a short (3 minute), powerful video by a young man and how he found a better way through network marketing. his passion, sincerity, and success begged my own thoughts around life lived passionately, network marketing, and why many people choose this 'better way' while many don't get the results for which they 'signed up'. when is NOW a good time to make a decision for Your Turning Point? www.judithlharrison.com; judithlharrison@rogers.com

This week will bring some added depth to material touched on together with Valeria Rigler in last weeks show. Valeria is an accountant of 25 years and an immigrant here from Eastern Europe. Her formative years in another culture has uniquely positioned her awareness and has - like Chiron, the Wounded Healer - applied the at times painful challenges this represents in creating a template for powerful and progressive change for all. we will explore the dynamics herein.
This show will be with accountant and self-ascribed 'immigrant' Valeria Rigler who has created a structure to support people in having the "sweet life" as she dubs it. Valeria says that everything starts with $$$ and she helps people map out where they are at, where they want to be and how to bridge the gap - how to be confident in finances, finding courage and purpose in life transitions!
We will visit the context, complexities, Territorial imperative and centrality of committing to our core, authentic Self: the how, why, and what gets in the way of our drive to thrive rather than simply be driven and be casualties to the crazed ways of our socialization. What can we do, who can we be, and how can we have fun in the run: living our dash! http://www.judithlharrison.com/
