Welcome to episode 3 of Authentic Online Marketing, 3 Reasons why you should use Reels! Now, this training is not how to do Reels. It's just kind of getting you acclimated to why you might want to use them and what is behind that. Now many have been resistant to Reels, especially people in my Insider Membership. But, over time, they've realized the value. This is what Instagram is pushing. Instagram is pushing Reels so it's peak time. It's not that photos and graphics and carousels will go away. You can still use those effectively. However, you can use them as well as use Reels and you can incorporate Reels into your posting processes to broaden your audience. We're going to tell you why today.  Why use reels in 2021? Here are some of the benefits of implementing social media's fastest growing avenue. Whether we like it or not, Reels are here to stay!  Click below for show notes https://ruthiegray.mom/ep-4-3-reasons-w…should-use-reels/   Sign up for my newsletter below! https://creative-creator-6398.ck.page/ab5350d864   Take the Reels Crash Course christianbloggerscreentimeboundaries.teachable.com/p/reels-training   Try the 7-Day Instagram Story Challenge below!  https://ruthiegray.mom/7-day-instagram-story-challenge/           1. The momentum is just beginning Reels are only going to grow from here. The head of Instagram, a couple of weeks ago, stated the app will be focusing on creators, videos, shopping, and messaging. For marketers, this is great news. So, TikTok was the most downloaded new app in 2020. As of 2021, with new Reels features being implemented, Instagram is growing by the day. A survey conducted by Marketing Brew found that 87% of TikTok users agree that Instagram Reels are just as interesting as TikTok videos. How about that? This means now that Reels are becoming more central to the Instagram algorithm, and we will see users shift from TikTok to wanting to use Reels, as well as see new Instagram users joining the app for the first time.     2. Reels gives your small business a platform Now for some great news: Reels has their own algorithm. So, you now have two channels of traffic you can direct to your product or business. Niching down is easy with Reels as you have the option to like videos for a more curated feed for yourself and your target audience. Use hashtags so that your target audience can find you more easily. You can connect with your ideal customer through Reels. It's very targeted.  Here's a quick tip: Don't use watermarks or low quality recycled videos. Instagram is not going to be pushing out those videos with the TikTok watermarks. If they are low visibility, they're not really good quality.  Instagram loves Instagram.  I've been telling you that for years. Use Instagram and their app for your Reels if you want to get them seen. The third and final reason why you should be using Reels is because…     3. You can do it You can do it right now in the social media world. With a variety of users on Instagram spanning to ages 65 and even older, Reels has proven to be as user-friendly to learn as other social video platforms available. That may not resonate with you right now, but once you play around with the app, you realize it's pretty simple. It's not as hard and you can take it in small doses. If you're not tech savvy, you can still thrive on Reels. There are little stages you can take and little steps you can take to use Reels correctly. Learning what to post and integrating Reels into your posting schedule is actually more simple than you might think for that reason.    Reels Crash Course We want to talk about our newly developed Reels Crash Course. Because knowing how to use Reels is more important now than ever before for small business users, why not get a leg up and get the course!  It's only $27. You guys, this is three videos and it's worth almost a hundred dollars.

Welcome back to Gaining Mom-entum! We hope you enjoy this remixed re-release of season 2's premiere episodes. Meghan & Abi are so happy to welcome their first guests on Gaining Mom-entum! This week, they sit down with Abi's dad, Femi, and his partner, Susan, kicking things off with a discussion of time, kind of, but really, what is time? They get into aging and mortality, both from Femi & Susan's professional perspectives, as well as from a personal viewpoint. Unsurprisingly, things take a bit of an existential turn, which leads to self-care. There are some emotional moments that provide Abi & Meghan with generational wisdom that they hope to embrace in their lives on their own aging journeys. Femi & Susan discuss the perspectives that aging has given them on being grateful and finding hope in the next generations as well as how the current social justice movement might impact how people think about death and dying. They continue on to discuss facing their mortality for the first time and how becoming a parent played into that. Susan & Femi talk about the difference in how they approached play as parents versus how they approach it now as grandparents. Also, Abi & Meghan learn that Susan is a pearls of wisdom machine, so if anyone is interested in creating some GM merch, feel free to get in touch about turning Susan's pearls into t-shirts! Whenever you hear the word ‘intimacy', what is the first thing that comes to mind? Well, for many, this word has always been associated with any sexual act. However, it's important to know that it's more than that. Intimacy is more than just physical affection. It's about the connection that we have with the people close to our hearts.  Intimacy happens when two individuals are willing to be vulnerable in exposing their true selves without reservation and pretension to each other. Not only that, it lets you be more open and free to tell the deepest, darkest secrets that you have, or to share the things you are passionate about because you feel safe with that person. Intimacy is vital for every relationship to last long. So in this episode, Andrew and Benjy talk about intimacy and how you can find and achieve it whether you're single, married, or even create intimacy within yourself.  By listening to this episode, you can create a sense of intimacy that's more genuine, grounded, real, and long-term, whatever your love language is. Andrew and Benjy share how they experienced intimacy in their lives, how they built a strong foundation of intimacy with their wives, and how they created a sense of confidence through intimacy with themselves. Get on board to learn more about intimacy, emotions, connection, and the five languages of love. Intimacy is the result, not the process. [00:26] Sex is a means to the ultimate end [1:22] Finding ways to be intimate [6:23] Porn is a temporary fill to that connection. [8:30] Reasons why people don't pursue real intimacy [11:36] The idea of individual perfection [13:54] Intimacy is predicated on trust. In this episode, Laura and Nikki talk about a question a lot of us are thinking about these days: Is it too late for me to start taking my art career seriously? Am I too old? After you hit the big 4-0 mark (or perhaps the 5 or 6-0!) you might question your relevancy in a world that is constantly changing and seems to reward youth, energy, vibrancy, new technologies, etc. You begin to wonder if you're too old to learn all the tech needed to run a successful business or too old to grow a following on social media when it seems to be full of young, beautiful women. We are here to show you some great examples of people who didn't let that fear stop them from starting and growing their art careers later in life! TOPICS DISCUSSED Does age matter? Reasons you might think you're too old to be taken seriously or be able to do all that is required to be a successful artist Shifting your mindset by looking at examples of artists who started later in life or gained success when they were older The flip side - can you be considered too young to be taken seriously as an artist? Thank you Newsstand Studio at 1 Rockefeller Plaza for providing a place for me to record this episode for y'all! No more Brooklyn closet recording!!!   Welcome to the TRC Remix Series #7. If you're not sure what this series is click here for more info!   Today's TRC Remix episode is a solo show. I'm talking about sex in dating— specifically when and how to bring up your physical boundaries in dating and why it's important to have these honest and open conversations early on in dating. I share why I used to be afraid and ashamed to talk about my choice to abstain from sex and how I clearly communicate my boundaries from the get-go today shame free.   Disclaimer: In this episode, I am talking about specific people from the Bachelor franchise and I want you to know I have zero judgement for anyone that I mention— I just use these specific situations on the show in order to illustrate what I'm talking about!    Why I was afraid to tell guys I wasn't having sex until marriage: Fear of rejection Assumption. Shut down to my sexuality. I didn't know my why.   3 things to think about before you have 'the talk'   Know your why   Your decision has to be internally motivated QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF: What does sex mean to me? How do you define sex? Why do you define it that way? What is god's heart for intimacy + sex? What is your heart for intimacy + sex? Why or why not is this a value for me?   Assume nothing   Just because they share your faith does not mean you have the same physical boundaries. No kissing until marriage to everything but penetration—including anal—to some people who love Jesus and choose to have pre-marital sex.    Zero shame   Rejection is protection!! It may make my dating pool smaller, but it makes it stronger.    WHEN: By date 3…although NYC dating culture moves quickly…so it's not odd if I bring it up on the 1st date.    3 Reasons to Have the Sex Talk Early on Set yourself up for success If you're not having sex before marriage — this may help set-up physical boundaries in dating. What didn't work for me…getting naked on the first date.  Be kind If I'm getting what I want—but if he thinks this is leading elsewhere it's in a sense being dishonest.  Create a culture of honesty + communication aka: CONSENT IS SEXY!   The only way a relationship can last + build trust is through communication. As a couple you get to decide what boundaries will work for you—It's an ongoing conversation. A boundary might have worked in the past, but things may shift. I HAVE AN EASY OUT: I talk about this stuff professionally. However, the more I've shared, the easier it's become. It's a non-issue for me. Here is what I say: "Hey, I just want to be upfront. I don't have sex until marriage + that's not like a cute thing I say…I really mean it. So I just wanted to throw that out there + see where you're at + what you think!"   Resources: 30 minute free call with Christian Sexologist Dr. Celeste Holbrook The Bible: Flee from Sexual Immorality TRC Episode 007: Kat's ‘Why' Kat's conversation on God is Grey Read Sexless in the City TRC Episode 155: What Does the Bible Really Say About Sex? The Bible tells us that in the last days, there will be mockers who will scoff at the idea of a biblical flood.  if you've ever talked to a skeptic or an unbeliever, you probably have experienced this mockery first-hand. You've been told there's no evidence for a flood, or that the Bible is just a mythical tale, and that while the story of Noah and the animals on the ark might be a cute Sunday school lesson on a felt board, no thoughtful adult takes it seriously.  On this episode, we talk to astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross of Reasons to Believe. Dr. Ross has explored in great detail the text of Scripture and has participated in discussions and debates with believers and unbelievers alike about the reality of Noah's flood found in the book of Genesis, chapters 6-9.  Dr. Ross takes what is known as an "old-earth" view of the flood. That is, Dr. Ross believes the earth to be billions of years old, rather than six to ten thousand years old. He also does not believe the flood covered the entire globe.  We have also featured a "young-earth" view of the flood from Dr. Tim Clarey of the Institute for Creation Research here in Dallas, Texas. We believe as Christians that there is room for civil and charitable disagreement about the scientific details of the flood and we hope that no matter if you are a young or old-earth creationist, or a skeptic or unbeliever, that you can see how Dr. Ross and Dr. Clarey charitably disagree but affirm that the Flood described in the Bible really did happen and most importantly, they both affirm the inspiration of Scripture and the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.  For more about Dr. Ross and Reasons to Believe:  https://reasons.org/team/hugh-ross https://reasons.org/ This broadcast and our broadcast with Tim Clarey of the Institute for Creation Research do not constitute an endorsement of young or old-earth creationism and do not  necessarily reflect the views of Watchman Fellowship, Inc. If you are a Christian who has ever talked to a skeptic or an unbeliever, you may have experienced this mockery first-hand. You've been told there's no evidence for a flood, or that the Bible is just a mythical tale, and that while the story of Noah and the animals on the ark might be a cute Sunday school lesson on a felt board, no thoughtful adult takes it seriously. On this episode, we talk to astrophysicist and Christian apologist, Dr. Tim Clarey of the Institute for Creation Research. You can listen to that episode on our Good Heavens! podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/53039288 We believe as Christians that there is room for civil and charitable disagreement about the scientific details of the flood and we hope that no matter if you are a young or old-earth creationist, or a skeptic or unbeliever, that you can see how Dr. Ross and Dr. Clarey charitably disagree but affirm that the flood described in the Bible really did happen and most importantly, they both affirm the inspiration of Scripture and the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. For more about Dr. Ross and Reasons to Believe:  https://reasons.org/team/hugh-ross https://reasons.org/ This broadcast and our broadcast with Tim Clarey of the Institute for Creation Research are designed to present different perspectives and model Christian charity and love in how we address the issues that divide believers.RELATED LINKS: More information on Dr. Hugh Ross and his ministry, Reasons to Believe, and book: Hugh Ross: www.reasons.org/team/hugh-ross Reasons to Believe: www.reasons.org Days of Noah (DVD): https://bit.ly/NoahDVD  Improbable Planet, by Hugh Ross: https://amzn.to/3C0m0SN MORE RESOURCES: We are also offering a free subscription to our 4-page bimonthly Profiles here: www.watchman.org/Free.SUPPORT: Help us create more content like this. When it feels like you've stretched yourself to the limit trying to make both ends meet while taking care of the nitty-gritty of daily life, you wonder how to even begin to carve out space for your big dreams. Where do you find the energy for that second wind to take the game to the finish line?  There is no shortage of advice when it comes to entrepreneurial hustle, but if you still feel stuck after following them to a T, then you need to take a step back and reassess the fundamentals: Your health, your vision, your energy, your values. People typically equate “doing more” with progress, but this is not always true.  Why does it feel like you're not moving the needle despite your daily efforts? Doing more of the wrong things actually does more harm, particularly to your health, your wellbeing, and your goals. On the contrary, doing more of the right things can catapult you from an uninspiring, and financially challenging spot, to the very peak of Maslow's pyramid — fulfillment. But what ARE the right things?  For this episode, I invited Anna Lundberg- founder of One Step Outside- to talk about the many ways of getting one's self unstuck from an overwhelming and unproductive state, to a higher level of frequency that allows you to achieve greater clarity and focused energy towards your lifelong dreams and goals.  Anna Lundberg is the founder of One Step Outside, where she helps experienced professionals around the world design a career, a business and a lifestyle that brings them more freedom, flexibility and fulfilment - outside of the conventional 9 to 5.  Ex-Oxford and former brand manager & head of digital at Procter & Gamble, today she combines her 10+ years of experience in global branding and digital marketing roles with her training in coaching and positive psychology techniques to help people reimagine the next phase of their career. Anna offers a blend of life coaching and business mentoring on a one-on-one basis and in a group setting. From taking care of yourself to realigning your vision with your values, Anna and I tackle ways in which you can overcome paralysis brought about by the deluge of tasks and ideas that don't seem to get you anywhere.  There is no copy-pasting the definition of success. Its meaning has to tailor fit you, and only you. Do you have the resilience it takes to move your business and your life forward?  Listen to the podcast to find the answers!**********Topics discussed on the show:**********Reasons for feeling overwhelmedHealth as the main foundation of your goalsPassion projects to inspirePrioritizing your valuesHaving clarity of visionBeing a part of something biggerStepping outside your comfort zoneThe criteria for successCreating intentionality in pursuing your visionThe definition of success is PERSONALAnna's 5 Pillars of a Sustainable BusinessThe importance of writing your goals on paperYour comfort zone is uncomfortableLevels of Energy: Spirituality and SuccessGrit and Resilience as the biggest driver to success********You can find Anna at:********Anna's Website (With other links):https://onestepoutside.com/links/LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/annaselundberg/?originalSubdomain=ukInstagram:@annaselundberg********Mentions:********Leaving The Corporate 9-5 by Anna Lundberg:https://www.amazon.com/Leaving-Corporate-Stories-people-whove/dp/1999700708Reimagining Success with Anna Lundberg:https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/reimagining-success-with-anna-s-e-lundberg/id1444846932Levels of Energy by Frederick Dodson:https://www.amazon.com/Levels-Energy-Frederick-Dodson/dp/1450569323Deep Work by Cal Newport:https://www.calnewport.com/books/deep-work/

Topics Mentioned:  New information  Monitoring  Energize your team  Goal setting    Key Thoughts: When we are creating strategic plans and doing our best to manage to them over time, what we really uncover is that the closer we get to the end point we are measuring to – the more we know. Michele (1:38)    Review the prior goal setting exercise you did. Regardless of whether you did it in November of the past year or January or March of this year. Pull it out and look at it. Michele (2:35)     New information brings new decisions. Hopefully if you have been monitoring to the goals you set before, you can see the changes that are now coming about with intentionality. Michele (4:29)    When we set goals at the beginning of the year, and then never look at them until December they can almost become meaningless to the team. By doing quarterly check-ins and opening up our goal setting in July for any necessary revisions, we are indicating to our team that we are serious about creating a roadmap for our success. Michele (7:56)     Contact Michele: Email: Team@ScarletThreadConsulting.com Facebook: Scarlet Thread Consulting Instagram: @ScarletThreadATL Website: ScarletThreadConsulting.com LinkedIn: Michele Williams   References and Resources: AIM Masterclass - Watch now 7 Figure Case Study - Download here 5 Reasons Successful Interior Designers Use a Strategic Plan - EP 129 with Michele Williams How to Easily Create a Strategic Plan for Your Design Firm - EP 131 with Michele Williams Reasons to Take Your Design Business on Vacation - EP 142 with Michele Williams Ways to Make Your Interior Design Business More Fun- EP 149 with Michele Williams
