On this episode, we are joined by a man highly involved in business, Anthony Bartolo. Now, I'm sure there are many ways that you could stereotype an electrician from Mackay, but this bloke certainly breaks the mould.Barts is the co-owner and brains trust behind ACTV Strength Co, Magnolia Lane, Carmie, and The Gentleman Routine. The success that Barts attracts comes as no surprise given his attitude and mantra on life. Have a crack, don't be scared of making mistakes, and get the absolute best out of the situation you're in.For anyone in business, or simply needing some motivation on how to get things started, then this has your name all over it.Anthony BartoloInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/anthonybartolo__ACTV Strength CoInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/actvstrengthcohttps://actvstrengthco.com/The Gentleman RoutineInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thegentlemanroutinehttps://thegentlemanroutine.com/Magnolia LaneInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/magnolialaneburleighhttps://www.magnolialaneburleigh.com.au/KAMIInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/kamiburleighhttps://www.kamiburleigh.com.au/White Line PodcastInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/whitelinepodcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/whitelinepodcastMusic by TVNXMI (https://soundcloud.com/tvnxmimusic)

On this episode, we are joined by an amazing human with an amazing story, great friend of the podcast, Mitch Ryan.On October 12, 2002, Mitch and his Southport Sharks teammates were drinking in the Sari Club in Kuta, Bali, when a van laden with explosives, detonated just metres away from them.Ryan, Cas and myself probably didn't have a huge understanding of the Bali Bombings or the consequences it had on Australia for many, many years to follow. We were only 6 or 7 at the time so were certainly a bit ignorant of what actually happened.Mitch disputes the fact that he's a victim, pledging to take gratitude out of everything he can considering others in his vicinity weren't so fortunate. If this wasn't already a bad enough hand to be dealt, Mitch lost his older brother, mentor and best mate in October 2020 to a freak accident while overseas. A lot of this podcast's listeners would have known the great Jake Ryan in some capacity, and Mitch pays a beautiful homage to his brother.Mitch is now in the business development and commercial side of proceedings at the Brisbane Lions, giving us an insight into how things work up at the Gabba. He's the father to Ted, with another one well on the way. As a matter of fact, his better half Sherry is due on November 12, but there's a feeling the baby might be coming earlier, so during this recording Mitch was very aware of any phone notifications he received. The best way to summarise this bloke, is that he's a battler, who loves his family and mates, and would put anyone's interests in front of his own. A truly great man.We hope you enjoy the listen.A heads up as well, there is some pretty heavy stuff discussed at times, and if anything has been triggering for you, there are some fantastic resources in the show notes. EP 17 brings us one of our favourite guests to date, dual AFL premiership defender, Josh Hunt.Drafted in 2000, Josh played 212 games across his career, predominantly at Geelong with a season to wrap things up at Giants, before moving up to the Sunshine State to take on a coaching role with the Brisbane Lions Academy. Now in true Josh style, he'll no doubt undersell himself, but to consistently hold a position in a backline filled with names like Scarlett, Milburn, Harley, Enright and co is a testament to the player that he was (and still is). There is no one more humble and nonchalant, but to go along quietly in one of the great modern football teams is quite the achievement.Ryan and I are now fortunate enough to call Josh a teammate and speaking personally, across my many years in footy, Josh is without question the best on-field communicator I have come across. This episode is filled with some great stories about what life was like at the Cattery in the halcyon days, so if you are a football person, you will find yourself enthralled in our longest WLP episode to date. Relax though, if footy is not totally your thing - there's still plenty outside of Aussie Rules that we cover. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did!White Line Book ClubThe Happiest Man On Earth - by Eddie JakuWhite Line PodcastInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/whitelinepodcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/whitelinepodcastMusic by TVNXMI (https://soundcloud.com/tvnxmimusic)

On episode number 15 of the White Line Podcast,  we are joined by MMA fighter and all round legend, Chelsea Hackett. At the age of 8, Chelsea was thrusted into her first Taekwondo class, and now, some 15 years later, she hasn't taken a step back.At just 23 years old, Chelsea, Chels, scary bitch, or Chimi, as she's affectionately known by some, has a massive future in the sport and a transition into the UFC is on her radar. In November 2020, right in the midst of what hindsight tells us are the darkest times of the pandemic, Chelsea, and her Dad (who's also her coach) jetted off to Las Vegas to fight on Dana White's Contender Series for a spot in the UFC. She narrowly lost that fight, what would be the first blemish of her short career, but some of the growth and personal development she has undergone since then has been profound.Chelsea was also a contestant on season 6 of Survivor Australia, spending a month out in Western QLD, sleeping in the dirt, with one meal a day, and absolutely no luxuries. We chat about all sorts of things - meeting Dana White, reality TV shows, the Chimi kingdom, why her car gets messy when she's injured, and plenty more.Aaand a side note - don't trust her Wikipedia. This is the White Line Podcast, Episode 15, with Chelsea Hackett.

Welcome back to another season of the White Line Podcast. We are bloody excited to be back in business for 2022. This is episode 14, the first of this second season, and we are joined by none other, than Gold Coast titans fullback, Jayden Campbell. Now this bloke, far too modest, would not vouch for this, but I can't remember an NRL player since Kalyn Ponga in about 2015/16, that's gathered the attention and the wraps that Jayden has. And judging from this episode, we all have a strong feeling that this guy is gonna warrant that hype. For a 21-year-old who's played 7 games of NRL, Jayden has it together. He's a really honest and strong communicator for his age. We talk about the close relationship he has with his Dad, Preston Campbell, a connection to his Indigenous background, the Titans prospects for 2022, his competition in opposition fullbacks around the comp, and why triple cheeseburgers aren't a sufficient diet for an NRL fullback. This is episode 14 of the White Line Podcast, with Jayden Campbell.White Line Book ClubThe Rescue - https://films.nationalgeographic.com/the-rescueJayden CampbellInstagram  - https://www.instagram.com/_jayden.campbellGold Coast Titans Profile - https://www.titans.com.au/teams/telstra-premiership/gold-coast-titans/jayden-campbell/White Line PodcastInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/whitelinepodcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/whitelinepodcastMusic by TVNXMI (https://soundcloud.com/tvnxmimusic)

Some of the things this fella has done are mind-blowing.He's done over 2 hours non-stop on the assault bike, holds an Australian record for the most metres on a Ski Erg in 30 minutes, and is currently training to bench press double his body weight next year… before going straight into a sub-3hr 30min marathon. This episode was funny, insightful, sad and jaw-dropping all in one.White Line Book ClubIt Takes What It Takes: How to Think Neutrally and Gain Control of Your Life - by Andy Staples and Trevor MoawadHaydn WolfsbauerInstagram  - https://www.instagram.com/thewolfsbauerCrossFit Profile - https://games.crossfit.com/athlete/107150White Line PodcastInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/whitelinepodcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/whitelinepodcastMusic by TVNXMI (https://soundcloud.com/tvnxmimusic)

In less than a three-year period leading up to his forced retirement, Kade was concussed 15 times in football incidents. Being such a current issue, it was great to have Kade share his story on the depths of concussion and head knocks. Now retired, Kade probably has more on his plate than he did when in the AFL. He is the co-owner of the best mozzie repellent business going around, Settlers Insect Repellent, is a franchisee of Strong Pilates Studio in Southport and Geelong, and is also trying to complete a commerce degree somewhere in the midst of all that.Getting together with Kade was a long time in the works. Multiple shoulder reconstructions, regenerative discs, inflammatory arthritis, not making final relay teams - there's not too many personal adversities that this guy hasn't had to endure, yet he has built a career on showing up when the chips are down.We chat about so much - Olympics campaigns, recurring injury challenges, occasionally skipping squad training to go for a surf, crossing paths with Kobe and Lebron in the London athletes village, an aspiring real estate career, and heaps more.A huge thank you to the big fella for his time.
