Two thirds of employees in the gambling sector are cross-border workers, with the sector eager to find out the result of the treaty negotiations to see how they could be impacted. Yesterday, Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry Nigel Feetham addressed the KPMG Gibraltar eSummit. He said the agreement protects the economy. As we begin to unpack and hear more details on the treaty News Editor Christine Vasquez has been at the helm of the coverage. She told us how it was essential to keep people informed and how the public are hungry to keep up to date.We talk sports with Louis Parral, as Gibraltar is being represented in a number of tournaments away from the Rock, including the women's cricket Prague Central European Cup, and the PDC World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt. And, it's Men's Health Week, marked internationally with awareness events to encourage men to look after themselves more, be it their mental or physical health. The theme for this year is 'Healthy Habits, Healthier Men'. Vanessa Cross, Clinical Nurse Specialist, emphasised the need to break the stigma and promote open conversations about men's health. The same sentiment was echoed by Cancer Relief service user Martin Ford. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

A wonderful conversation on my podcast today with Eoghan Roe from Claremorris, Co. Mayo in the West of Ireland. Eoghan is a teacher, fitness coach and breathwork facilitator in training. He founded Run, Walk, Talk which is a free social event aimed at combating loneliness by bringing people together. Eoghan shared how even though he is only 28, he had found himself feeling isolated from others in the past and struggled with a sense of connection. He realised the importance of connection to our overall well-being. He feels there is a real need for authentic connection in our communities and being able to communicate in a safe and supportive space. Stepping into the unknown can be uncomfortable, but once you do, you realise you have the courage to do new things - exactly what Eoghan did when he created his first event a few months ago. Eoghan has learned through breathwork training that he can anchor himself into the present moment and honour his emotions without getting stuck in them which showed up as tension in his body. He has a deep passion for deepening his connection to himself and others through the practise, and offering support to others in the future. Join Eoghan in his next RUN, WALK, TALK event: Sunday - 22nd June at 9.30am in The Land of the Giants, Claremorris. Everyone is welcome. Listen to today's podcast... Men tend to deal with stress differently than women.  Women tend to share, while men tend to bottle the stress up inside of them.  This can eat away at them causing high blood pressure, gastrointestinal issues, sleep issues and a loss of perspective.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, men die at higher rates than women from the top 10 causes of death, with stress being one of them. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!      So Here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Men's Health Week: Men need to develop positive outlets to relieve their stress while they are at work. Many men suffer from ‘terminal seriousness' in the workplace.  Terminal seriousness can hamper communication, problem solving and teamwork.  So incorporate a play break and have fun. This break can help to increase productivity and creativity, while decreasing stress. The purpose of Men's Health Week is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.  Finding outlets to work out stress throughout the day, such as squeezing that stress ball or throwing that paper airplane, can prevent stress from building and negatively impacting your health. Lighten up and play – your body and mind will thank you. Remember, If you like today's wellness tips, let me know. You can leave me a review on amazon or through your #alexa app. Looking for more ways to build your resiliency? In this episode I bring you another great conversation with Dr. John Ogrodniczuk. This is the third time he's been on the podcast and it's always an honour to speak with him.John is a Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the UBC Psychotherapy Program, one of North America's largest medically based psychotherapy training programs. His research program focuses on a variety of psychotherapies and patient populations, with a particular focus on personality disorders and men's mental health. Dr. Ogrodniczuk has held several grants to support his research, which has led to over 300 scientific publications. John is also the Founder of HeadsUpGuys, a leading global resource for supporting men with depression. This episode marks a special occasion as his organization, HeadsUpGuys, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. In addition to his research, Dr. Ogrodniczuk is involved with teaching medical students and psychiatry residents, serves as a mental health consultant for various organizations, and maintains a psychotherapy practice. We had a lot to talk about in this episode, including a Heads Up Guys campaign called Step up for Him a campaign taking action in support of the millions of men across the globe – our brothers, fathers, partners, sons, friends, colleagues – who struggle with their mental health, often in silence. Clink the link to learn more about how you can get involved.HeadsUpGuys is the world's leading online resource for men's mental health. Over 10,000 people use it every week—but they have so many more men that we need to reach. STEP UP FOR HIMHey there! Want a simple way to support men's mental health while also taking care of your own? Heads Up Guys has something for you — it's called Step Up For Him, and it's all about moving with purpose. Here's how it works:First — get moving.Walk, run, hike, bike — whatever feels good. You can join in anytime between June 1st and 15th. Do it once, every day, or just when you can. Totally your call. This two-week stretch includes Men's Health Week and wraps up on Father's Day, so it's a meaningful way to show up — for yourself, and for the men in your life.Next — bring a buddy.Grab a friend, coworker, partner, whoever. Movement is always better with someone else, and sharing the experience does wonders for mental health. It's a simple way to build connection and have some fun along the way. Then — share it.Take a photo or video of your movement, add some of our custom “HeadsUpGuys” stickers (just search us up), and post it using the hashtag #StepUpForHim. Tag some friends to join in, and help spread the word.Head's up guys will be on the lookout for your posts to share on our socials — so yeah, you might get a shoutout! And finally — if you're able, consider donating.Every dollar goes directly toward programs that help men heal, cope, and thrive. Just $1 helps us get self-check tools to 8 guys. $5? That can help one man connect with a qualified therapist. That's a real impact. So, however you choose to Step Up — by moving, sharing, donating, or just talking about it — you're helping change the conversation around men's mental health.Let's do this together.
