Joe getting into a fight at a John Mayer concert? Yes...yes, it is possible. And a true story. Join us as Joe tells us the harrowing journey of his fight on the streets of Detroit. Also, we found a ranking of the 15 theatrical releases of Batman movies, and we may have a lot of problems with it. Do you agree with our rankings? In the second half of the episode, join us to review the Battlestar Galactica Episodes Resurrection Ship Part 1 & Part 2. Listen as we debate the villainy of Admiral Cain.
This week we take a look back in time when Apollo first began his command of the Pegasus, and view the world through someone who followed Admiral Cain through her early day decisions. So kick back, and lets see some classic Cylon as well!
With the fate of the Colonial fleet - and possibly the Cylon race - hinging on an important mission, Lee decides to go for a float trip. Can Starbuck pull off another hotshot plan? Will destroying the Resurrection Ship really stop the relentless Cylon pursuit? Will we learn that Admiral Cain has a heart of gold after all? Will we actually answer any of these questions? Tune in to find out!
CW: This episode of Battlestar Galactica deals with torture and sexual assault. We learned that there are multiple cuts of the episode. For most viewers, we strongly recommend the 45min cut that is streaming on Peacock TV. When a ship jumps into DRADIS range broadcasting Colonial transponder codes, our crew is understandably skeptical. But is it a dream, or did another Battlestar really survive the Cylon attack? That's cause for celebration, right?! Definitely nothing will go wrong when an ambitious young admiral with a history of cruel decision-making takes control of the fleet. Let's be honest here - we love you Michelle Forbes, but we already hate Admiral Cain. Not for the first - or last - time, we marvel at Tricia Helfer's range as an actor, and EJO's imposing presence even when he's no longer in charge. This cast is brilliant! https://en.battlestarwikiclone.org/wiki/Pegasus_(Extended_Version)#Chronological_list_of_new_scenes (Here's the list of the scenes) you're missing if you're watching the show on Peacock. We're still not totally clear on where/if these aired in the first place, but a few of them do provide some context, and as we learn in this episode, it's always important to consider the context. You can https://soundcloud.com/preston-and-steve-rock/dead-guy-in-the-envelope (listen to an ad from 1999) for Philadelphia Y100s "Dead Guy in the Envelope" contest. Unfortunately, it doesn't feature the They Might Be Giants' theme song, which is frustratingly difficult to track down. (We highly recommend you listen through the end of this episode, though!)
Matthew and Dean go way into Admiral Cain (not like that you pervs) and discuss the finer points of her character's rise and fall. They discuss her code and the fact that her gender was never discussed by any of the crew. The lads celebrate that Cain wasn't used as a champion of some social or political statement (or crusade) and simply just a well-rounded character that they believe wouldn't want your pity. What kind of society is worth saving? That's the question at hand in Resurrection Ship. Pat sees a bit of Admiral Cain in Starbuck and thinks that Cain does too. Mike compares the lines that Cain and Adama are willing to cross. Matt thinks the troubled Admiral may have gotten exactly what she wanted in the end.

Jim and Megan discuss season 2 of Battlestar Galactica, specifically the mid-season episodes with the appearance of Battlestar Pegasus. Our conclusion? Admiral Cain is an Admiral Pain. Also, we miss Buffy. We debate Admiral Cain and postulate the type of series finale that BSG will have. We also revisit "Heroes" and "Stargate," and have early impressions of "The Bionic Woman." Also noted is that our podcast is a finalist for a 2007 Podcast Award!
