Get ready for one of the more special Washington Football Talks to exist, and that's saying something, because a LOT of Washington Football Talks exist. Anyways... this is a huge week for the show; Sep. 6 marked its five-year anniversary, and a few days from now, the man who started it all — JP Finlay — is celebrating a momentous birthday. So, in order to commemorate both events, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey rounded up a bunch of very important people to pay tribute to both the podcast as well as its Day 1 host. After all of those messages conclude, you'll then hear a few pieces of old content from the program's early, early, early days (which features our dear friend Rich Tandler). And then, at the end, JP reacts to the surprise. If you like podcasts that are five years old and are taking a moment to reflect on that, then this is the episode for you.*Here's a list of everyone who participated in this installment* The Finlay family...Ron Rivera, WFT... This is one of the more special Redskins Talks ever recorded, so get ready. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler, Pete Hailey, Ajay Atayee, John Keim and Tarik El-Bashir all went out to the Tandler house to catch up with his wife, Andi, and record this episode to celebrate Rich's birthday. The whole gang finally got the chance to hang out in RT's famous man cave, sit in his legendary La-Z-Boys and meet his beautiful pup, Skeeter. Once they all got settled, they basically turned on the recording and just let it all rip. From tremendous stories about Andi finding out that Rich was drinking on the road (after promising her he wasn't) to making fun of his devotion to gadgets and just recounting what made him so great, every second of this one is worth listening to. If you like podcasts where you hear about Tandler's boxers and Andi gets some surprise news, then this is the episode for you. Happy birthday, RT. We miss you.
There is a LOT of good stuff in this new Redskins Talk, so prepare yourself. First, JP Finlay sets the scene while at a family wedding, telling you what's ahead in this episode and also teasing a few fun things coming up for you as well. Then, he tosses to Mitch TIschler and Pete Hailey, who were out at rookie minicamp along with Ben Standig, Brian McNally and Ajay Atayee. From their beloved picnic table, those five break down what they saw from Dwayne Haskins and also give their takeaways on tons of other rookies as well. What jumped out about the new QB and how much excitement is there around him? You'll hear that analysis, plus lots of good insight on everyone from Kelvin Harmon to Wes Martin and even to Vince Papale's son. It's so fun to be talking football again and you'll enjoy that segment as much as the hosts did. Then, to wrap, you'll hear an interview with Kyshoen Jarrett that first aired on "Redskins 100," as JP, Pete and Julie Donaldson get to chat with the up-and-coming coach on his promotion and his life. If you like podcasts where the "How many C's on that thick?" scale makes an appearance and Mitch gets supremely giddy about an undrafted O-lineman, then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler (who's out of his submarine from last ep) and Pete Hailey are coming at you from an undisclosed location for a really terrific Redskins Talk. To begin, the guys briefly thank the listeners for what's been a very hot streak as of late before looking at some early odds related to the 'Skins. The most interesting among them? The over/under set for Dwayne Haskins' 2019 starts. Once that wraps, along with a brief segment on JP's newfound gray hair, the hosts transition into looking at JP's way-too-early 53-man roster projection. How many QBs do they keep, who makes the cut at receiver, what's the deal up front and where is this roster basically already set? All of those topics are covered in this entertaining discussion that covers lots of side topics, too. Among those side topics — trying to predict which wideout will lead the team in catches and wondering why the Redskins haven't looked more into Tre Boston. That's about 50 minutes of football stuff total, so you should be satisfied, because then comes the shtick. You'll get a sampling of standout reviews before the three call Ajay Atayee to preview their Wednesday golf match. Ajay claims he can shoot lower than a 120 despite having never played 18 holes before, so he gets grilled on that. If you like podcasts where Mitch's shoes get roasted and JP describes one player as someone who "bathes in moxie," then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler, Pete Hailey and an out-of-the-trunk Ajay Atayee wanted to react to JP's report that the Redskins are making a push to get Gregg Williams, so now you have a new Redskins Talk to listen to. Is Williams a legit option, or is he just using this as leverage to make the Jets commit more to him? Why would he want to come here? How would he fit into this franchise's power structure? And should he get the job, and will he? All of those questions are tossed around. The guys also get to the bottom of what the difference is between four wheel drive and all wheel drive and use the phrase "jet wash" a ton. If you like podcasts where you get timely analysis on a big name and Pete gets trashed for not having a graphic ready to promote the upcoming Live Podcast Q&A (THIS THURSDAY AT WILLIAM JEFFREY'S TAVERN), then this is the episode for you.
On this week's episode, Armon rings in the new year by talking about the questionable decision of letting D.J. Swearinger go by the Burgundy & Gold, and how it was covered in D.C. (02:00 - 25:00) 'Redskins 100" producer, Ajay Atayee stops by to break down the Skins & Wizards and answers which team is most likely to be a champion first (44:00 - 58:00) And Ben Simmons is great at basketball, but his lack of shooting has somehow blinded many to the fact (1:00:00 - 1:18:00)
JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Mitch Tischler and Ajay Atayee (who's not in the trunk this time) hopped into Mitch's car for this very fun edition of Redskins Talk. The guys open things up by telling you some GREAT injury news about two very crucial Redskins players before eventually transitioning into one mysterious injury storyline that no one really gets as of now. After that, they move into setting their first three over/unders of the season, a tradition that new listeners will enjoy and old listeners will recognize. Then a special treat arrives in the form of a long Preston Smith interview (18:01), where the pass rusher and JP look ahead to the 2018 season, talk about Smith owning Sam Bradford and kick around Tandler possibly being his publicist. If you like podcasts where JP complains a TON about things such as the AC in Mitch's car as well as a beer-related issue (28:50) (which eventually turns into everyone complaining about the beer-related issue), then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Pete Hailey and Ajay Atayee are bringing you this pod from JP's car out in Ashburn. Football is the focus at first, as the hosts recap who's healthy and who's not at running back and receiver and then debate the job security of players like Rob Kelley, Kapri Bibbs, Brian Quick and Trey Quinn. They then shift into an important segment (22:50), as they recognize all of the new podcast ambassadors. There are 80-plus names to read, so get comfy. If you like podcasts where Ajay contributes despite sitting in the trunk and Tandler is especially strict about made up rules, then this is the episode for you.
JP Finlay, Rich Tandler and a barely invited Ajay Atayee check in for this Redskins Talk installment from the Mobile Podcast Studio/JP's 2013 Honda Pilot following Washington's first open OTA session in Ashburn. And in this installment, the crew covers a ton. From JP coining the term "hype rocket" regarding Trey Quinn's growing popularity to a recap of a sweet Alex Smith to Paul Richardson pass to observations on players like Josh Harvey-Clemons, Derrius Guice and Zach Brown (who wasn't in attendance, BUT DON'T FREAK OUT), you'll get a ton of news on the 'Skins in under 20 minutes. If you like podcasts where Tandler reveals how much he can squat and JP reminds you not to give up on Rob Kelley, then this is the episode for you.
This podcast is coming at you from the podcast picnic table at Redskins Park in Ashburn and features JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Chick Hernandez, Pete Hailey and 'Redskins 100' producer/heavy hair gel user Ajay Atayee. The guys open up by having (yes, another) discussion about left guard after JP reported that Arie Kouandjio's 2018 season is in jeopardy due to a quad injury. Is it time to panic? There's disagreement answering that one. Then, everyone gives their observations and standouts from Friday's rookie minicamp session, including notes on Derrius Guice and Trey Quinn, after watching the Burgundy and Gold's first-year players get after it in practice under Jay Gruden's watchful eye. If you like podcasts where Tandler calls someone a redneck and the Trey Quinn hype train starts rolling, then this is the episode for you.
Ajay Atayee returned to the show to talk about how he went from buying fake Yeezys to actually copping a couple pair over the Holiday season. Shoutout to em. Music Passion HiFi - Get up Randy P - G'$ Randy P - Grind
This episode is all about shoes. Chase and Chris were joined by four guests: CSN producers (and sneaker heads) Ajay Atayee and Terrence Stroder. On the phone they had Michael Sykes of SB Nation and Daniel Habtemariam, owner of the sneaker store Cool Kicks.
