A political cartoon in the Chronicle Herald caused quite a stir recently. Michael De Adder drew the cartoon, in response to the unusual number of mayoral candidates running in Halifax. But for Darryl Johnson, the only Black candidate running for mayor, the cartoon felt like targeted racism. The two men have since met in person to reconcile their perspectives. They came into our studio to talk about how that went.
What happened when Michael de Adder and Darryl Johnson agreed to sit down over coffee.

In this episode the Huddle Guys discuss the topic of business credit with Darryl Johnson, CEO and Founder of Business Credit Works which helps businesses build credit without personal guarantees or credit checks. A strong focus for Darryl is his commitment to give financial institutions more positive data to assess credit worthiness. Business credit is just as important as consumer credit. In short, Business credit is for your EIN and it is not linked to your SSN regardless of your personal credit, collateral, or cash flow. Every year, companies go out of business because they can't get money and credit to operate. Without business credit, businesses can struggle to grow and scale. The Huddle Guys talk about how to get business credit, and use it wisely. They remind us that this is not a get-rich-quick scheme! And no Huddle is complete without some fun banter. The Guys talk MLB and their guest's celebrity look alike. The Huddle Guys want to hear from you about business credit, or another financial topic that is important to you. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey have a lot to get to (and a lot of people to talk to) on this Saturday edition of Washington Football Talk. First, JP, Mitch and Pete recap the action at practice, which included lots of Cole Turner highlights as well as some great work by a depth corner. Then, they welcome in Chris Kerwin and Darryl Johnson, two photographers who intersected with Kerrigan plenty during his time in Washington. After those five finish, you'll hear JP's one-on-one with Kerrigan, who reflects on his career and why he chose to retire at this point. And lastly, JP also sits down with Kendall Fuller, who explains his comfort in the secondary and his "old soul" off-day plans. If you like podcasts where JP randomly shreds his own sock and Pete horribly misunderstands what JP is doing on Saturday evening, then this is the episode for you.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Series: Revelation: The Best is Yet to ComeTitle: “What's the Great White Throne of Christ?”Scripture: Revelation 20:11-15; (Commentary helps listed at the end)Bottom line: The text teaches us that one day each and every one of us will stand before God and his throne and will be asked to give an account for our lives. Let's pray.INTRODUCTIONOpening story:Circus elephant when it is born is tied to a stake so that it will learn that even though it will grow way more powerful and is easily be able to uproot a stake, it will believe the lie that it cannot pull the stake up and it cannot walk away. Circus elephants are trained in this way.Ex. Universalism which says that everyone goes to heaven. God would never send anyone to hell.Read Rev 20:11-15Opening question: When you join the ‘great and small' and stand. Before the great white throne and God asks you, “Why should I let you enter the new city, the new heaven and the new earth, and not cast you into the lake of fire?” What will you say?A set of scales is how most Americans think about this. It's a good question to ponder.TimelineOUR NEEDOur need is for mercy before a holy and just Creator—before God himself.Last week's bottom line: There's a God, you're not him, are you ready to meet him?Bottom line: The text teaches us that one day each and every one of us will stand before God and his throne and will be asked to give an account for our lives. You're the smartest dr in town. I'd be a fool not to trust you.Did you take 3 pills/day? Well, 1-2/day.I thought you trusted me…had faith in me.I do!No you don't.How can you judge me that way?!Because if you really trusted me, you'd do what I told you to do.Jesus said, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46Books were opened.People judged “according to what they had done” because deeds reveal what we really believe.VII. Another book opened—book of life. (20:12)VIII. “Thrown into the lake of fire” (20:15): Symbolizes the state of being marked by deep regret and searing anguish. Not nothingness. Not forgetfulness.IX. “Second death” (20:14)First death = When we physically die.Second death = what happens to those who do not repent of their sin and turn to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord—eternal regret, anguish, “Oh God I missed the point!”First resurrection = life after death/the grave. Being alive with Jesus before his coming glory.Second resurrection = what happens to believers after going through judgment scene (tribulation)—new creation where our bodies are transformed and made new. (Phil 3:21, 1 Cor 15:51-52)2 books. Good news. Really?First, books on those who believe inJesus Christ; there's a full accounting. God hasn't missed anything. It's all there in detail. Thoughts, words nad actions. Awful. But, good news. Everything confessed is erased or crossed-out. In red. Blood red.“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”1 John 1:8-9 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/1jn.1.8-9.NIVSecond, more good news because the other book—the Lamb's book (20:12). It lists the name, yes. But more importantly ti lists the deeds of the Lamb. The book on me lists my deeds. The Lamb's book lists his deeds. His deeds are deeds done on behalf of sinners like me!Perhaps the first page of the Lamb's book has these words from Isaiah 53:5-7; 11b-12:“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all…he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth…by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”Isaiah 53:5-7, 11-12 NIVhttps://bible.com/bible/111/isa.53.5-12.NIVDarryl Johnson writes, “At the judgment, the book on me is going to be opened. Then the book on Jesus is going to be opened. Then the book on Jesus is going to be placed over the book on me! And in place of my deeds, the court sees his deeds!”CONCLUSIONOpening question: When you join the ‘great and small' and stand. Before the great white throne and God asks you, “Why should I let you enter the new city, the new heaven and the new earth, and not cast you into the lake of fire?” What will you say?Funerals are hard when the person who passes is a believer. They're even harder when we know that they were not a believer or we don't believe there was fruit in their life to support the belief that they were. Darryl Johnson suggests the following:“This is how I handle it. I will say something like this: ‘We are all going to die. And each of us is going to have to give an accounting for our lives. On that day we have two options. The firstoption is to take our stand on the basis of what we have done with our lives. The second option is to take our stand on the basis of what Jesus Christ has done with his life. I shall exercise option two. I find no hope in option one.”“I saw a great white throne.”What will you do?A little girl once defined repentance as “Being sorry enough to stop doing it.”Bottom line: The text teaches us that one day each and every one of us will stand before God and his throne and will be asked to give an account for our lives. Get ready for one of the more special Washington Football Talks to exist, and that's saying something, because a LOT of Washington Football Talks exist. Anyways... this is a huge week for the show; Sep. 6 marked its five-year anniversary, and a few days from now, the man who started it all — JP Finlay — is celebrating a momentous birthday. So, in order to commemorate both events, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey rounded up a bunch of very important people to pay tribute to both the podcast as well as its Day 1 host. After all of those messages conclude, you'll then hear a few pieces of old content from the program's early, early, early days (which features our dear friend Rich Tandler). And then, at the end, JP reacts to the surprise. Reports surrounding Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson and the Carolina Panthers continue to emerge. Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reported over the weekend that the Panthers were one of the teams that showed interest in Watson while the Miami Dolphins have become frontrunners for his services. Does it make any sense at all for Carolina to pursue Watson given his ongoing legal troubles and the doubt of his football playing future?Roster cutdowns are set to be finalized by 4 pm Tuesday afternoon. Who will make the Panthers initial 53? How will the team handle Shi Smith's injury when making decisions at WR? How many quarterbacks does the team carry behind Sam Darnold? Does Giovanni Ricci's versatility change the calculus at TE?The Panthers also traded for Buffalo Bills DE and special teams ace Darryl Johnson. Recorded minutes before the Bills traded defensive end Darryl Johnson (although Matthew Fairburn foreshadowed it), we discuss tough calls on the 53-man roster and preview University at Buffalo's football opener Thursday against Wagner on the latest "Tim Graham And Friends" brought to you by CTBK.
After dissecting the pair of rookies, Boccacino and D’Amico speculate on how many defensive ends the Bills will keep, and who should make the roster, and who will find themselves on the outside looking in. It appears there are five “locks” to make the roster in Rousseau, Basham, A.J. Epenesa, Jerry Hughes, and Mario Addison, especially with general manager Brandon Beane committing to keeping Addison and the team not saving that much by releasing him. We also take a moment to celebrate the under-appreciated Hughes, who was No. 2 in the NFL in his pass rush win rate last year behind only Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt and who continues to be an invaluable contributor to the pass rush and a stout run defender. Assuming the Bills will keep either five or six defensive ends, that means one roster spot remains for: Darryl Johnson, Efe Obada, Bryan Cox. Jr., and Mike Love., and we make the case for who should earn that final spot. Today we're joined by my good friend Jim Transue, his son Jimmie, and personal trainer Darryl Johnson. Darryl tells his story of getting into shape and finding his passion in health. He shares practical advice and motivation for all of us who may have found a few pounds, especially during the pandemic. Great fun getting to know Darryl! www.iyccoach.com https://www.facebook.com/iyccoach Coach Johnson has been involved in martial arts training for over 30 years. His journey began with the art of Taekwondo, eventually earning a 4th Degree Black Belt. Shortly after beginning his training, he desired a more realistic avenue of training and began competing in full contact Kickboxing. His fascination of realistic training continued after seeing Mixed Martial Arts competitions and hungered to further his education. He began Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1995 and began to share them with his students. Still committed to learning even more forms of realistic training, he was certified to teach Krav Maga in 2001 and has been a huge proponent of the Israeli System ever since. He earned his first certification as a personal trainer in 1995 and began creating fitness programs using Kickboxing in 1997. In 2004, he went on to be a certified instructor in Muay Thai style Kickboxing under Kru Mark in San Diego. He began coaching MMA competitors in 2007 and relishes his role as a coach and instructor even more than as a participant.

We hosted the honorable Darryl Johnson, one of the foremost concert organizers/promoters, in the city of Istanbul. The conversation started with posting, listing, distributing strategies for event marketing especially face2face vs. text&net. The game has permanently changed since audience can find out about niche artists themselves;you don't have to bring the Big Name Artists to find an audience. The trick is to create interfaces for people in the same mindspace. And of course the wave of the future is synchronized events.
