The bracket is here and it's gorgeous. Let's run through the field and talk about these games. Matt Norlander is ready to go, Hartzell is back from Nashville and even though his brain is more scrambled than usual, we're ranking all kinds of things on this bracket. Best 8/9 game? Best announcer pairings? Most likely 12-over-5? Who got the best - and worst - geographical pod assignments? So much to cover in today's show, and honestly the fellas could have kept going. What did Norlander think of Miami University getting shipped to Dayton? How many head coaches got fooled by the internet and the fake tip times? What's the most popular upset pick that nobody is talking about? So many questions but we're here for answers, folks! And - in a CSN exclusive - the guys run through the guidebook on how to properly write team names onto your bracket (because nobody spells out Wisconsin in full, we're not psychopaths here). An absolute banger of an episode, and frankly the only NCAA Tournament preview show worth listening to.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Neil Young's otherworldly ability to morph between raging metalhead to the most sentimental of romantics never fails to astound. Always uncompromising, this cranky Canadian has been inflexible in his stance to be unencumbered - and, prolific - recording over 45 solo albums, not to mention those classics created with Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y. Surviving polio as a child, and a brain aneurysm in middle age, he kept coming back stronger than ever. I've seen him live twice: at the Greek Theater during the Greendale tour, then again a couple of years back when my son and I flew to Tucson to celebrate the slower, less blazing, but still mesmerizing octogenarian troubadour. His music has been a touchstone throughout my life, starting with the iconic Reprise album “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere” which contained Down by the River - a dorm room sing along. His vast catalogue makes it difficult to pick only ten covers, but the range here is evident, swinging from Pearl Jam's live version of Keep on Rockin' in the Free World to Emmylou Harris's wistful floatation on Daniel Lanois's diaphanous Wrecking Ball. Neil's own vocal style is so distinctive that it's tempting to disregard how beautiful some of his melodies are. I think you'll find that this line up does them justice.HEART OF GOLD (JOHNNY CASH)MR. SOUL (THE EVERLY BROTHERS)ON THE BEACH (BOZ SCAGGS)KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD (PEARL JAM)A MAN NEEDS A MAID (DALA)BIRDS (THE METERS)LOTTA LOVE (NICOLETTE LARSON)WRECKING BALL (EMMYLOU HARRIS)BROKEN ARROW (WILCO)HELPLESS (NICK CAVE)

Making history with a powerful start to Season 7, and we're sitting down with a true game changer in the business of sports — Yvonne Wade.Coach Wade has built a career defined by excellence, leadership, and legacy. From representing the Japan on the Olympic stage from her college days competing at Colorado, to coaching at UNLV Rebels, she is now making history as the first-ever Athletic Director at Nevada State University. In this episode, we dive into what it takes to build an athletic department from the ground up and why this moment is so big not just for NSU—but for the entire state of Nevada. Coach Wade is leading the charge by launching Women's Flag Football and Men's Track & Field, marking the first time these programs have ever existed at the university and creating new opportunities for student-athletes across the region.
The annual late-night power hour through the conference tournament brackets returns as Matt Norlander has boots on the glass floor (that's currently being disassembled) at the Big XII Tournament in Kansas City, while Hartzell has boots on Broadway covering the SEC Tournament. So much to unpack from the first couple of days - including the Miami U loss in the MAC and the butterfly effect that's having all across the bubble picture. Every conference that has a bracket and is still playing ball gets discussed, some more in-depth than others, but the spirit of what we're doing here is very alive. An annual CSN tradition: two exhausted, hungry, and dehydrated guys breaking down these brackets and trying to make some sense of the hoops landscape now inside of 72 hours until the bracket gets unveiled. What a time to be alive. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Not one, not two, how about THREE court storms on Wednesday night and we're talking about all of 'em here on CSN. Matt Norlander joins Stephen Hartzell to break down all the drama from the weekday games, including Portland's shocking upset of the Zags, college basketball's latest villain, and BYU's road win problems. Hartzell dunks on Duke's on-court shoes from Tuesday night, plus a mea culpa on Darryn Peterson after his heroics (and 35-minutes played) in Lubbock earlier in the week. Speaking of heroics, how 'bout the Billikens?! Josh Schertz is the head coach at Saint Louis and he joins the show to talk about the incredible season they're having in the A-10, including serving drinks after last weekend's win, Robbie Avila's foggy goggles, and being 'bullet-proof' as a team on both sides of the ball. Really good stuff from Schertz - including his Super Bowl pick and preferred food spread for Sunday's game - followed by a weekend preview and some brief DMB Summer Tour discussion on 'Now Spinning' to wrap the show. Loaded program today, folks. Absolutely stacked show to get you ready for an A+ weekend of ballSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hartzell is on his second straight week of being at home with the kids because of all the snow in North Carolina, so him and Norlander fire up some early morning CSN to recap the weekend, starting with the Sunday results of Florida over Alabama and Illinois doing it again on the road against a top-5 team. The guys discuss the Darryn Peterson story from the weekend, because no one is doubting the guy is elite, but is he really hurt or just cosplaying as hurt? The KU faithful are starting to get concerned and so, too, is Hartzell. How long can Bill Self and Co keep this going when their star simply isn't playing for the entire second half? Special guest Brian Boesch, who is the radio play-by-play voice of the Wolverines, joins the show to talk Michigan at Michigan State from last Friday and what the B1G race looks like down the road when Michigan visits the Illini in a few weeks. GRAMMY's recap to end the show for 'Now Spinning' because Hartzell was not impressed and thinks CBS mailed it in for their final show.
