This week on the TABLE TALK interview podcast, Jeff sat down with John Stolnis from the Hittin' Season podcast and TheGoodPhight.com over at SB Nation for a discussion about the struggles this Phillies team continues to have after the trade deadline. While Andrew Painter has given us some optimism, what should we make of Aaron Nola from the mound at this point here in 2026? Relying on Alan Rangel out of the bullpen? Luis Arraez has been that spark the team has needed, but Alec Bohm has been nothing short of disappointing. Was the Nic Claxton trade really one of the worst moves of the NBA offseason — or are people missing what the Chicago Bulls actually needed? On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why SB Nation ranking the Bulls' acquisition of Nic Claxton as the fifth-worst move of the offseason may be too harsh. The asset-management criticism is fair: Chicago used cap space and took on roughly $44 million over two years instead of extracting draft capital. But from a basketball standpoint, Claxton checks several major boxes for this roster. The Bulls finished 22nd in defensive rating, allowed opponents to shoot 58.9% in the paint, and badly needed a real defensive center next to Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis and Caleb Wilson.Haize explains how Claxton gives Tiago Splitter defensive flexibility with switching, mobility, length, blitzing ability and recovery speed. He also looks at how Claxton could help protect Matas and Caleb while they develop into a long, athletic defensive frontcourt. But the concerns are real: spacing could get ugly, Claxton's rebounding must bounce back, and the Bulls need the 2022-24 version of Claxton — not the statistically declining one from last season. Then the show shifts to Chicago's biggest offensive concern: is the Bulls' shooting actually as bad as it looks? Haize breaks down why the answer may be “not as bad as people think.” Josh Giddey has become a respectable shooter, Matas Buzelis already has high-volume three-point confidence, Caleb Wilson changed the conversation in Summer League, Norman Powell brings proven shooting gravity, and Jalen Smith may be too important as a stretch big to give away.

"We ain't doin' none of this Tuesdays with Morrie shit," baseball great Dave Parker once told his collaborator Dave Jordan, as they worked together on the soon-to-be-Hall-of-Famer's memoir. "We goin' out poetic and wild." As Told To podcast guest Dave Jordan is a writer and filmmaker and founder of Instream Sports, a pioneering athlete-author writing platform. He is the co-author of the acclaimed memoir Cobra: A Life of Baseball and Brotherhood, with the late Dave Parker, who was inducted into Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame just weeks after his death in June 2025, following a decade-long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Upon publication, Cobra was hailed by Tyler Kepner of The New York Times as "one of the most gripping and revealing baseball memoirs I've ever read." The book was nominated for a prestigious Casey Award, as one of the best books of the year, and stands as one of the wildest, most poetic memoirs on the baseball bookshelf. Prior to his work with Parker, Dave Jordan was a regular contributor to the Sporting News, SB Nation, and the Hardball Times, and the co-author of Fastball John, written with former San Francisco Giants pitcher John D'Acquisto. Dave Jordan's short film, "The Paper Mache Chase," starring Jim Gaffigan, Cynthia Nixon, and Spalding Gray, was featured at South by Southwest, the Brooklyn Film Festival, and several major film festivals. The film focuses on the crazy, stressful, and wildly competitive admissions process facing parents of New York City pre-schoolers. At the time of Parker's death, author and subject were completing work on a follow-up collaboration to Cobra—King's Island, a look back at the Hall of Famer's rookie season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the racial and political climate that surrounded the game in the summer of 1974.
