This 2-part podcast was inspired by a Solo Cleaning School Elite member, Dave Reeks. Dave started implementing the ISO Model in early 2022, operating The Finest Clean in South Wales, Australia. I am so proud of his diligence and commitment. Dave has grown from an Initializer to the Stabilizer phase of the ISO Model in 6 months. I recently did an Optimizer's Workshop with him to help him hit his next goal. He is a male solo cleaner like I was and growing quickly with almost 20 house cleaning customers in a short time. Dave recognized the need to keep his body operating at peak performance and wondered if I had any tips for other solo cleaners. Thank you Dave for this question! Yes! I do. I was a solo cleaner from age 28 to 44. There have been seasons of physical domination when I could stay up all night and clean and clean and clean. I have also struggled with fatigue, injury, and chronic disease. Regardless of the season, I had no choice but to keep going... and I did. In this initial episode, we will deconstruct the habits of multiple peak performers from professional sports to learn from them. Then in the second episode, I also will share several keys to solo longevity that I have learned along the way from my triumphs and struggles.  I believe this will help all cleaning companies as we all have people cleaning, whether it is us or a team we've hired.Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor. I am sharing what I've personally done for cleaning longevity. See your doctor before making any major changes to your routine. Baseline your level of health now and set goals on where you'd like to go. Use this podcast as a guide.Let's start with an analogy that takes me down vehicle memory lane. The joke in high school was that Ford stood for "fix or repair daily" and "fails on race day". My friends with Hondas boasted on their longevity and reliability. Hondas were the gold standard. My cars from age 16 to now have been in this order: Honda, Ford, Ford, Mitsubishi, Honda, Honda, Honda, Honda, Ford, Honda, Ford. Isn't that funny. I've owned 6 Hondas and 4 Fords. I won't go over every detail on our cars as that is probably boring. I will just say this. All of my cars have been great. I have so many memories from each. But I do generally agree after owning 4 Fords and 8 Hondas (my wife owned 2 Honda Odysseys) that the Hondas are way more reliable and spend less time in the shop. Sure there were some duds. We had an Odyssey that lasted 2 years and needed a new engine at 150,000 miles. We own a Ford Fiesta with 100,000 miles and a Honda Pilot with 140,000 miles and both are running great. But there is not doubt that our Hondas have been cheaper to operate and lasted a lot longer as 5 of the 8 were over 200,000 miles when we got rid of them.Read the rest of this article at the Smart Cleaning School website

The Unnamed Automotive Podcast gets some second opinions this week. Today's show starts with Sami's review of the 2025 Toyota Crown, a car than Benjamin drove a few years ago. However, Sami's experience with the Crown has been changed by recent tests of the Camry and Accord, both of which were spacious, well equipped, efficient and responsive. Does the more expensive Crown have anything to offer that they don't? Then Benjamin finally gets his chance to drive the 2025 Honda Pilot TrailSport. A three-row crossover with some off-roading capabilities, the Pilot feels like it should be more interesting to drive and live with than other three-rows like the Highlander, Telluride and Palisade, but Benjamin points out that there are a few things that stop it from being a standout. Finally, the show closes up on checkup on Fisker, and an interesting law that means that Chase is sending Fisker Ocean buyers to Rivian dealerships. Thanks for listening!

During the waning weeks of 2024, Hankook Tire invited Tire Review to Joliet, Illinois, just outside Chicago, to experience the Weatherflex GT. It's the company's newest all-weather tire offering. For this Hankook Weatherflex GT review, we took to the track at the Autobahn Country Club, taking several laps with professional racing instructors offering guidance.Key Specifications of the Hankook Weatherflex GT All-Weather TireBefore diving into performance, let's review Hankook's Weatherflex GT specifications. The Weatherflex GT comes in 37 sizes, from 15 to 22 inches. Hankook backs it with a 70,000-mile treadwear warranty. It also has the three-peak mountain snowflake designation for handling snow and ice. Hankook says it designed the tread pattern to deliver excellent winter performance. High-density sipes in the grooves enhance traction in snow. The sipes in the center and shoulder blocks helps to improve performance on snowy roads. Wide lateral grooves channel water away efficiently, reducing hydroplaning.Wet Weather Performance and Hydroplaning MitigationThe zig-zagged grooves improve cornering grip by engaging the road at various angles. This design ensures drivers maintain control. The tire's “3D GripKontrol Sipes” minimize block deformation. Better block stiffness leads to improved handling in wet and dry conditions, and we had the opportunity to experience this for ourselves on the track. Wide lateral grooves channel water away efficiently, reducing hydroplaning. This keeps the driver in control during rainy conditions.Comfort Features Built Into the Hankook Weatherflex GTTo test the Weatherflex GT on the track, I drove two vehicles equipped with these tires: a 2025 Honda Accord and a 2025 Honda Pilot. The weather varied greatly during the test. A sunny, mild day turned overcast, windy, and drizzly. These conditions were perfect for testing this tire. The quiet ride stood out while reviewing this tire. Hankook says its engineers prioritized reducing road noise using strategically positioned tread blocks. The company optimized the block arrangement to minimize vibrations. Poorly positioned tread blocks generate unpleasant sounds, similar to clashing musical notes. Hankook harmonized these “notes” by varying block sizes and aligning them properly. This creates a quieter, more comfortable ride. The tire's “3D GripKontrol Sipes” minimize block deformation.Introducing the Hankook Weatherflex GT to the LineupHankook organizes its tires into families. These include the Kinergy, Ventus, and iON lines. The Weatherflex GT introduces a new family line. Tire Review spoke with Rob Nasca, Hankook's Product and Marketing Training Manager, about the decision to introduce a new line. He explained the vision for the Weatherflex GT. "Consumers are looking at the market as a whole, and we've noticed that the snow accumulations actually decreased," Nasca said. "It's still getting cold out there in the wintertime, but there isn't as much snow. So, we've [responded] by having an all-weather tire that's going to be like an all-season, but have that three-peak mountain snowflake symbol. It's also going to be more cost-saving, because now the consumer doesn't have to buy a summer and a winter tire."Asymmetrical Tread DesignThere is one key feature of the Weatherflex GT that deserves extra attention: Its asymmetrical tread pattern. This design differs from the tread pattern of the Kinergy 4S2 – another all-weather tire in Hankook's line-up. The asymmetrical pattern allows rotation between the driver's and passenger's sides. This prevents irregular wear. Rotating directional tires similarly could cause performance issues. Hankook says its engineers prioritized reducing road noise using strategically positioned tread blocks.Tire Review: www.tirereview.comHunter Engineering Company: www.hunter.com

How does these changes affect the typically well recieved GV80 crossover? Benjamin spills all the details, while going on quick tangents about wireless charging and digital gauge clusters. Then Sami finds a solution for families on the go with a tight budget. While many may seek out something like the 2025 Honda Pilot, the new Hyundai Santa Fe may be everything families are looking for, especially in the affordable hybrid guise. Sporting 231 horsepower and 36 mpg combined, the Santa Fe feels like a better crossover than its price tag indicates. So whats the catch?

A 37-year-old woman from Wapakoneta, Ohio, has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison after admitting to killing her ex-husband using an animal tranquilizer during a custody exchange in 2022. Amanda Hovanec was convicted of ambushing and injecting her ex-husband, 36-year-old Timothy Hovanec, with a fatal dose of a drug known as M-99 on April 24, 2022. The incident occurred amid an ongoing child visitation dispute following the couple's divorce. Prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio stated that Amanda, along with her mother Anita Green and her new boyfriend from South Africa, Anthony Theodorou, plotted the murder to gain sole custody of their three daughters. According to court documents, Timothy, a U.S. State Department researcher, traveled from Virginia to Ohio to spend time with his daughters after a judge granted him visitation rights. Upon arriving at the home where Amanda lived with her mother, Timothy was attacked while unloading the children's car seats from his vehicle. Video evidence from his dashcam showed Amanda injecting him with the tranquilizer and struggling with him until he became unresponsive. After the attack, Amanda placed a plastic bag over Timothy's head and, with the help of Theodorou, loaded his body into her Honda Pilot. The following day, Anita Green drove them to a pre-dug burial site on farmland that once belonged to Amanda's grandfather. Amanda and Theodorou buried Timothy's body using shovels taken from Green's home. The plot unraveled when investigators confronted Amanda with the dashcam footage, leading to her confession. While she initially claimed that Timothy had left after dropping off the children, she later admitted to the murder, stating that it "comes down to me being selfish." Anita Green was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role as an accessory after the fact. Theodorou is awaiting sentencing. U.S. District Judge James Knepp II remarked that he was "left with the inescapable conclusion that she helped facilitate a murder, not just after the fact," regarding Green's involvement. "This is as bad a crime as I have seen or could have imagined," Judge Knepp said during the sentencing. He emphasized the premeditated nature of the crime and the involvement of multiple family members in the murder plot. In addition to her prison sentence, Amanda has been ordered to pay $2,108,559.36 in restitution. The funds are intended to cover the financial losses resulting from Timothy's death, including support for their three daughters. Timothy's family and friends expressed relief at the sentencing but remain grief-stricken over the loss. The case has drawn attention to the complexities of custody disputes and the potential for such situations to escalate tragically. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? The invention box has become a motherhood low lift luxury at Kelly's house. Full of boxes, containers, and tape — it provides a world of possibility to her kiddos on a rainy day.  Lizz is on her green girl journey and Kelly shares she is practicing using things to completion on today's driveway dumps. A Thrift-mas update and a little rant on baby-specific laundry detergent scams make their way into the dumpity-do-dah's as well. Listener Elena submitted her great eight to the Carpool pod. Things we took for granted as kids is the theme and Elena's childhood picks are: summer break, playing outside, having someone make every meal for you, living with your parents and siblings, getting to see your friends every day at school, the magic of Christmas, not having to pay bills, and ignorance of what goes on in the world. With a little help from Sydney, Kelly and Lizz choose a winner. Paige has a Crockpot boneless pork chop recipe that's making today's ditch the drive-through extra cozy. All you need is one ranch packet, one au jus gravy packet, one pack of boneless pork chops, garlic powder to season with your heart, one can of cream of mushroom, and one can of cream of chicken. In this special direct from North American Car of the Year testing in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Host Jack Nerad and frequent Guest Host Matt DeLorenzo discuss the many candidates for three of the most prestigious honors in autodom. Nerad is currently vice president of the North American Car of the Year jury. DeLorenzo has served on the jury for decades. Each year, the 50-member jury composed of renowned industry experts evaluates all the new-to-the-market vehicles to determine which deserve the title North American Car of the Year, North American Truck of the Year, and North American Utility of the Year. As part of a rigorous test schedule, the jury convenes in Michigan near the Motor City of Detroit to drive and evaluate the contenders for the honors in each of the categories. The competition is stiff, and the potential for disagreements is many. With electrics, hybrids, and conventionally powered vehicles in each category, the jurors get a chance to weigh the positives and negatives in real-world driving. The car of the year field includes mainstream cars like the Honda Accord and exotic newcomers like the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. The truck field includes stalwarts like the Ford SuperDuty and new-tech wonders like the Chevrolet Silverado EV. Join Wes this week on Shaping Success as he interviews his good friend Jhae Pfenning who is also is co host on One Drink Wednesday currently on Instagram, but they are looking to move it to YouTube. Wes and Jhae talk about growing up and cars.In keeping with the spirit of One Drink Wednesday, Wes and Jhae take a shot of the energy drink Magic Mind. Jhae found when he took it in the morning, he doesn't get that 2:30 pm slump. He would typically need some coffee at that time for a pick-me-up, but he didn't need it. Wes and Jhae agree that Magic Mind is healthier than coffee and booze, and it also tastes good! One Drink Wednesday is a show co hosted by Wes and Jhae every Wednesday at 7pm PST. They typically have a show and tell, this day in history, and just added a segment called Rotten Tomatoes. They are looking into having a guest along with him and Jhae to play the Rotten Tomato game. Wes and Jhae talk about vehicles. They have different habits when it comes to obtaining vehicles and the types of vehicles they favor. Wes favors Honda and Chevrolet. He likes to shuffle newer vehicles. He typically leases his vehicles and switches them out every so often. He had a Honda Pilot, but when he and his family moved to the country away from everything, it wasn't a good choice. It also wasn't big enough for his family. He ended up leasing a Tahoe and buying a Honda Civic. He likes the fact he gets 40 miles to the gallon in the Civic. He also says he feels more comfortable in a Honda Civic with snow tires in the winter than a 4-wheel drive with no snow tires.  Jhae is drawn to Dodge and buys used cars because before it was all they could afford. His wife bought a used Dodge Neon. Jhae had to drive that thing around campus when he was in school, and snow tires helped him get around in that vehicle that otherwise he'd be stuck. He and Wes discuss the best snow tires and studless versus studded. The conversation turns to their kids and are they mature enough to drive when they are old enough to drive? Jhae points out that just because a person is old enough to drive, doesn't mean they should. The same can be said for drinking. Know your kids. Will they appreciate the hard work their parents put into getting them a car and just giving it to them, or do they feel like they are entitled? If they feel entitled, it may be best to let them work for it.  Jhae and Wes point out that when kids start a job and have to pay for their own stuff, that is when they begin to appreciate their things and take care of them. In Arizona where Jhae is, kids don't have to go to driving school to get a driver's license. Kids can be taught independently. If kids take the driver's education course, they get an insurance break. In Idaho, it's mandatory to take the driver's course in order to get a license. Wes says his Nieces and Nephews had to have 6 hours of driving in the course to get their license.Growing up in Texas, Jhae got his first car when his Grandmother passed away, and his parents sold it to him. He was 20 and in college at the time. His parents would help him with payments and car insurance a few times when he couldn't make the payments. For Wes, growing up in Oregon he passed his drivers test on the first try in his Mom's truck which was a stick. Even though he passed, his parents felt someone had to still be in the vehSupport the showFor merchandise, podcast and youtube: westankersley.com Check out our sponsor The Warriors Collection for coffee, gear and more use code TANK at check out for a special Discount! https://warriorscollectionbrand.com/ Follow Shaping Success https://shapingsuccesspodcast.buzzsprout.com/ Email Wes@westankersley.com for guest ideas or to be on the show!

As the name implies, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is, well, grander than Highlander classic. There's more room, crisper design and with the Hybrid MAX powertrain, significantly more oomph. There's seating for up to 8, and for the first time, adults are okay to ride in the wayback. All that and the price premium is easy to swallow. Its strong competition to Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, Nissan Pathfinder and Volkswagen Atlas. Tom Voelk travels to the Big Island of Hawaii to check out all three powertrains.

Kelly and Lizz, sans guests, have a LOT to catch you up on today. Kell is feeling super pregnant, is looking forward to the holidays, and will be doing a lot of hand washing and saying her prayers to keep her and the baby healthy into the new year.  Did today's millennial word start with drag queens? In any case, 'wig,' as in, 'I was so shocked my wig fell off,' is just another bit of Gen Z slang that the gals will not be using.  Kelly's driveway dump features Alexa timer parenting, teaching your kids to be polite to robots, and how she plans to make her hospital stay a super cozy spa time with her new baby. The gals discuss when the Christmas tree will go up, and Kelly gets jazzed about the yard blow-up she's sneaking into her outdoor decor. Her excitement spills over to kitten heels making a comeback. To wrap up the segment, Kelly shares a little rant about giving credit for vague advice. Minivan mom Megan writes in on today's advice segment looking for a spacious recommendation for her family. Kelly explores this mama's many options, including another minivan for the teens and a sleeker Expedition or Tahoe for herself.  In industry news, EV registrations through September are up 57% in the US. And while Kelly and Lizz don't need to be ‘coutin' their guap,' at least they now know Gen Zers are talking about their cash-money, not an add-on to their Chipotle bowl.  A love and wisdom-filled Q&A with today's guest brings you all the secrets to life, love, and aging in reverse. Kris shares where you can find the fountain of youth on your local Trader Joe's shelves and names one of her favorite products for achieving a little glow every day. Kelly and Lizz also ask their mom about her current ride, how she met their dad, and how she juggled raising five kids along with the rest of life. You won't want to miss her sage parenting, marriage, and holiday planning advice. The Car Grandma also joins Kelly and Lizz for a special taste drive of Mom Water. Mom Water sponsors today's test drive, sending over their iconic, fun, and refreshing drinks for the gals to sip (and spit, in Kelly's case). How'd The Carmom Auto Show go? Well, the news isn't quite here yet! At the time of recording, Kelly and Lizz are preparing to move hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of brand new automobiles…and have no idea what to expect of the event. Will they be up all night? Did they ask for enough help? Stay tuned for the post-show recap next week! Today's millennial phrase of the day — caught in 4K — takes Kelly and Lizz down a history rabbit hole, then off on a tangent of impressions. Next up, Kelly is serving a hot take on Target vs. Kohls and the downfall of the shopping mall.  Smart Sweets are featured on this episode's tasty test drive. Kelly and Lizz give their uncensored reviews and ratings of the Swedish fish, peach rings, watermelon bites, caramels, gummy worms, Cola gummies, licorice, and sour blast buddies. The gals agree that whatever you do, just stay away from the poop brown, flavorless gummy worms.  The 2023 Honda Pilot is finally being released in the most awkward way, and it's keeping Kelly on the edge of her seat, asking all of the questions in today's industry news. The new Toyota Sequoia gets a $391 million upgrade to its manufacturing plant, and a recent report reveals that traditional auto brands are coming for Tesla in the EV race.  Podcast listener Ashely brings PF Chang's Lettuce Wraps from Damn Delicious to ditch the drive-through to wrap up the show.
