After Matt and Breanna's son 10 1/2 year old son Landon passed away from Medulloblastoma in December of 2022, Matt took up running as a way to cope with the grief from his beloved son's passing. In March of this year, Matt's running took him to Lake Folsom in Auburn California where he lives and he began a 140 mile run that honored the memory of Landon and honored 105 other Pediatric Cancer Warriors, some of whom are fighters. some of whom are survivors, and some of whom have passed away. This amazing accomplished was also captured on a 45 minute film which was put together by his "crew" of helpers who helped Matt every step of the way.

Hello again Racing Ears,I wanted to put together an episode for someone that went out of their way to allow me the opportunity to have a tour inside of a 50,000 watt major metropolitan radio station in Sacramento California. Lou Gesicki who's radio name is Sweet Lou Gallagher gave me a tour of KFBK News Radio 1530AM and 93.1FM on the eve of Thanksgiving 2023. Sweet Lou often times would fill in for Pat Walsh who does "The Pat Walsh Show" on KFBK News Radio 1530 AM and 93.1 FM from 7pm till 10pm on weeknights in Sacramento California. Sweet Lou had put out a request on the "Memories of Sacramento" facebook group to convert aircheck cassettes from one of his morning radio shows on Magic 101.1 FM in Auburn California from back in late 2000 to very early 2001. The show was called Mornings with Lou and Mel on Magic 101.1 FM in Sacramento California. Lou Gallagher and Melanie Polka were the predominant hosts of the show. I was able to chat with him about his career in the radio industry on the night that he gave me a tour of the iHeart Media radio station which included KFBK and KSTE, the station that carries the "Armstrong and Getty" morning radio program on Talk 650 KSTE. I wanted to thank Pat Walsh for being willing to share the aircheck recordings with his audience recently. I also appreciated the opportunity to be able to attend Lou Gesicki's Celebration of Life back in early March 2024. Lou was also involved with a regular 3pm to 6pm PST afternoon drive internet radio show that is called "That 70's Channel", which is an internet radio station that features 70's radio hits. The slogan is "The Biggest Hits Of The 70's, And More..." Lou was also involved in a YouTube channel that was with his best friend Ronnie called "Men Are So Smart". Lou was also the track announcer for the All American Speedway in Roseville California for a period of time as well. He used to interview people who were enjoying the auto racing that regularly happened on Saturday nights during the hot Sacramento summer nights. I converted one of Lou's aircheck tapes into a YouTube video that is on my channel called "The Observant Ear" which is titled, "Magic 101 FM Morning Show" Thank you again Sweet Lou and his wife Teresa for making the tour of KFBK possible. GOD BLESS you Lou Gesicki! We are now 16 weeks out from my first 100 Mile ultra marathon in Auburn California. I am pumped to be running the Canyons Endurance race on a large portion of the Western States Trail. It has been 3 weeks since my backyard ultra where I ran 52 miles and came down with a little bit of knee pain that I later found out was runners knee. We didnt have a chance to check in last week with Christmas so I want to fill you in on how I have been handling the runners knee and how Ive treated it over the last 3 weeks to be virtually pain free today, even after running 17 miles this am. We will look at the next week of training and how Im handling a 54 mile training week with a 4 day trip out of the country with not a lot of running options while Im away. Lastly we will talk about another 100 mile race that I signed up for today and will be doing in the fall as well as some races that I am crewing! I am proud to announce that in 2024 I will be continuing my sobriety and doing it with the help of Athletic Brewing Co. He is speaking at a Retreat held in Auburn California in August 1994, he was 43 years sober at the time of this event. Last month I put up part one and a ton of you emailed asking for the rest of the workshop, so here it is all 7 parts and 8 hours long. This jumps right in and it also ends a bit abruptly . The audio quality of this was all over the map and it took forever to get it edited and evened out, overall its good with a few short fuzzy spots. I put about one second of click track between each of the 7 sessions so you know where they stop and start, and lastly if you are bandwidth aware you might want to grab this on wifi its about 250 megs. I'm Here for the Bath by P.E. RolitaI'm Here for the Bath was a labor of love for me to write. In the sixty plus short stories that I put together for you I shared not only the experiences of the people I served and their caregivers but my own as well. My life unfolded during the thirty plus years I cared for the dying and supported the people around them. My work as a hospice aide molded me, shaped me and guided me in ways I could not have imagined. I honor the people I cared for and the people I worked with in these pages. I have not seen another book written in this way by a caregiver like me. EnjoyPeter Rolita was introduced to the teachings of Ernest Holmes and Louise Hay when he had the honor of caring for a Religious Science Certified Practitioner and her husband before they made their transitions . Peter began attending services at Foothill Center for Spiritual living in Auburn California and in July of 2017 completed his studies and was himself licensed as a RScP, Peter has worked in healthcare for over 30 years and has certifications in the state of California as a CNA, CHHA and has a LVN license as well.Peter considers himself a caregiver and has embraced opportunities to be at the bedside in a variety of private homes, hospitals and nursing homes. Peter has been employed as a hospice aide at Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years most recently working out of their Roseville branch. Peter completed his Associate Degree from American River College in 1997 and also earned a certificate of completion from their Gerontology program. Peter is a member of LGBTQ community and has served his community volunteering as a board member for a variety of organizations including; Foothill Center for Spiritual living, Servant Hearts, and Prime Timers.Peter currently shares a home in Carmichael California with his life long friend Emma Blake who chose the illustrations for "I'm Here for the Bath". Dan Macon is a University of California Farm Adviser and also the operator of Flying Mule Farm in Auburn California. Ryan Mahoney is a fifth-generation sheep and cattle rancher who operates Emigh Livestock, in Rio Vista California. Dan and Ryan are also participating in a Western SARE project demonstrating and evaluating how information from both electronic identification tags and better understanding of sheep genetics could be improve sheep production economic viability.Emigh Livestock produces “climate beneficial wool.” They put together a carbon farm plan – carbon emissions minus carbon sequestration. Through this they no longer sell in the bulk auction and receive a price premium. The end product is sold as 100% American processed fiber.“It's neat to see your wool in that finished product, says Ryan.”Flying Mule is also seeing changing markets. Dan is beginning to work with a stronger market for replacement ewe lambs that can fit for targeted grazing operations to manage weeds or for reduce fuel loads. Other opportunities and changing demand face the sheep industry. According to Dan, “real opportunities have been this shift during the pandemic in people eating and preparing food at home.” There is a rebound in interest in lamb at retail level and this has driven opportunities to ramp up production. Additionally, the non-tradition market of selling whole lambs, which are smaller than those sold in the commercial market - primarily due to California's ethnic diversity has been part of producers' attempts to adjust to drought and other conditions. Learn more about the Western SARE project.
This week we are joined by Alan "Pooch" Puccinelli of Repkord. This all started from a tweet here: https://twitter.com/repkord/status/1470114675912179716?s=20 where he talks all about pricing and how people react to it as consumers. We happen to agree so much with most of this and invited Pooch to come and talk about it on the podcast! If you want to start your own 3D Printing business, or any small business in general, you will definitely enjoy this one! Runic divination or "Rune casting" is not "fortune-telling" in the sense that one actually sees the future. Instead Runes give one a means of analyzing the path that one is on and the likely outcome. The future is not fixed. It changes with everything one does. If one does not like the prediction, one can always change paths."www.hammerofthorkindred.orgSpiritual Alchemy The PODCAST is a livestream Podcast about various spiritual healing modalities and topics.
