Escalating distrust in identity systems and misuse of AI are forcing a shift in security accountability for small and midsize businesses. Recent analysis highlights that the prevalence of deepfake-driven business email compromise and non-human digital identities is eroding confidence in traditional protective solutions. According to Techyle and supporting reports referenced by Dave Sobel, the ratio of non-human to human identities in organizations is now 144:1, further complicating authority and responsibility for managed service providers (MSPs). As trust in exclusive third-party control disintegrates, co-managed security models are becoming standard, repositioning decision-making and liability. The rise of AI-generated data—described as “AI slop”—has prompted increased adoption of zero trust models, with 84% of CIOs reportedly increasing funding for generative AI initiatives. However, as rogue AI agents are recognized as a significant insider threat, current security services are often ill-equipped to manage these new vulnerabilities. Regulatory bodies, including CISA, have issued guidance noting that the integration of AI into critical infrastructure introduces greater risk of outages and security breaches, particularly when governance remains ambiguous. High-profile vulnerabilities in open-source AI platforms used within cloud environments further highlight the persistence of operational risks.Adjacent technology updates include new releases from vendors such as 1Password, WatchGuard, JumpCloud, and ControlUp. These offerings focus on enhancing phishing prevention, expanding managed detection and response, and automating endpoint management for MSPs. However, Dave Sobel emphasizes that these tools introduce additional layers of automation and integration without adequately clarifying who ultimately holds authority and accountability when failures or breaches occur. There is a consistent warning that stacking solutions or outsourcing core functions without redefining operational control creates gaps between action and oversight. For MSPs and IT leaders, the key takeaway is that security risk is no longer defined by missing technology but by unclear governance, undefined authority, and misaligned incentives. Without explicit contractual and operational delineation of responsibility when deploying AI and automation, service providers are increasingly exposed to liability by default. The advice is to move beyond tool-centric strategies and focus on process clarity: define who authorizes, audits, and terminates non-human identities; establish which parties approve automation actions; and ensure clients understand shared responsibilities to mitigate silent risk accumulation. US President announces a ‘framework of a future deal’. We look at what’s next. Then: we check in from the World Economic Forum in Davos and speak to the mayor of Nuuk. Plus: the latest in the world of culture.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode of Badlands Daily, hosts CannCon and Alpha Warrior break down the latest developments shaping the political and cultural landscape. The discussion centers on escalating pressure across multiple institutions, the consequences of past decisions now coming into focus, and the visible strain on systems designed to maintain control. CannCon and Alpha examine how timing, messaging, and reaction reveal more than official statements alone, highlighting patterns of exposure, deflection, and narrative management. The episode also explores the personal and national costs of standing firm amid mounting resistance, emphasizing accountability, resolve, and the long-term implications of the current moment. As events continue to unfold, the hosts challenge listeners to look past surface-level explanations and consider what these developments signal about where things are heading next.
President Trump's insistence that the U.S. acquire Greenland could become a major international crisis. He's now threatened tariffs on eight NATO allies who have expressed their opposition to the idea, and that is shaking up the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week. And more tariffs would increase costs for American businesses at a time when American voters are talking about affordability at home.Willem Marx reports from Davos, and NPR's Scott Horsley and Mara Liasson recap the economic and political fallout. For sponsor-free episodes of Consider This, sign up for Consider This+ via Apple Podcasts or at plus.npr.org. And the consequences that follow when restraint and accountability start slipping away at the highest levels of power. This episode breaks down a series of recent developments that raise serious questions about leadership, stability, and judgment. ESCALATING IRANIAN PROTESTS AND POTENTIAL US INTERVENTION Colleague Edmund Fitton-Brown. Edmund Fitton-Brown describes the current Iranian protests as a movement that has shifted into a repression phase characterized by internet blackouts and rising casualties. He argues that US military force targeting repression organs could tip the balance in favor of the protesters, who are increasingly calling for a constitutional monarchy. The regime is reportedly attempting to negotiate following US strike threats. NUMBER 131400 ALI SIMJURI IN BATTLE.
ESCALATING CONFLICT BETWEEN SYRIAN FORCES AND KURDISH ALLIES Colleague Akmed Khari. Clashes have erupted in Aleppo between the Syrian government and the Kurdish SDF after a failed integration agreement. Akmed Khari notes the complexity of the US coordinating with Syrian security forces that remain riddled with jihadists. The conflict is expected to expand into other contested regions. Analogy: The situation in Syria is like a shaky alliance between rival firefighters who, while ostensibly trying to put out the same blaze, begin turning their hoses on each other while the fire continues to spread. Everyone can agree that Renee Good's shooting as she drove into an ICE agent was tragic. But the media and Democrats mangled the facts into Good was just a peaceful mom who was driving away from the villains in an exhibit of "classic de-escalation behavior."
In this solo episode of the Everyday Business Problems podcast, Dave Crysler breaks down a pattern he's seen over and over again in leadership, defaulting to escalation instead of creating space to solve the real problem. Using real client stories and personal leadership lessons, Dave explores how emotionally charged reactions shut down learning, block root cause analysis, and quietly erode culture. This episode isn't about avoiding tough conversations. It's about knowing when escalation actually helps, and when it makes everything worse. What You'll Discover: Why escalation often feels productive but rarely solves the real issue. How emotional reactions push teams into defense and justification instead of problem-solving. The hidden risks of over-de-escalating and trying to appease everyone. How to slow down tense moments without ignoring accountability. A practical way to handle the "hot potato" when someone drops an urgent issue on your desk. Why gathering facts and setting the room matters more than immediate action. How repeated escalation shows up later as turnover, stalled growth, and customer churn. What leaders can do to reset after escalation and rebuild trust. If you've ever felt stuck in a cycle of fires, frustration, and repeat problems, this episode will help you rethink how you respond under pressure, and how small changes in behavior can create calmer teams and better outcomes.

Eric Van Buren grew up in Washington, DC in a stable home with hardworking parents and a strong family foundation, but his life took a turn after high school when fighting and drug dealing pulled him into the streets. After being arrested on a state murder charge and beating the case, Eric thought the worst was behind him — until the federal government indicted him on a major drug conspiracy. The feds sentenced Eric to life in prison, and he went on to serve 19 years inside some of the most dangerous federal prisons in the country, fighting to survive both mentally and physically. In this episode, Eric breaks down how a good kid ended up with a life sentence, what day-to-day survival in high-security federal prison is really like, and how he ultimately got his sentence reduced after nearly two decades behind bars. This is a raw, unfiltered story about choices, consequences, and redemption inside the federal prison system. _____________________________________________ #prisonstory #lifeinprison #truecrime #federalprison #survivestory #prisonlife #lockedin #realstories _____________________________________________ Thank you to PRIZEPICKS for sponsoring this episode! Those presented here are among the 130 people who testified for nearly 12 hours on December 4th 2025 before the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee of the DC Council. What happens when you shut down during a fight with your partner—when your chest tightens, your voice vanishes, and you feel small like a scolded child?Todd explains why some people collapse during conflict while others lash out. It's not about caring less—it's about caring so much that your nervous system shuts down from shame. When shame takes over, you disappear emotionally. Your partner might see it as indifference, but the truth is you're stuck in an emotional freeze response. In this episode, Todd shares the story of Cheryl and Jerry, a couple caught in a painful pattern. Every time Jerry expressed frustration or disappointment, Cheryl would collapse into shame. She felt like a bad child, unable to access her adult self. One client described it perfectly: "Every time we argue, I feel like a six-year-old who just wants to hide in my room."The turning point came when Cheryl learned to recognize the moment shame kicked in. Instead of spiraling, she placed her hand on her heart and whispered, "You're safe now." She grounded herself with her breath, felt her feet on the floor, and imagined her adult self stepping forward. Then—still quiet, still tender—she sat beside Jerry. He later told her, "That was the first time I felt like you stayed, like you didn't disappear into shame."Here's what Todd wants you to know: Shame tells you to apologize your way back to connection. It doesn't work. Real repair doesn't come from self-erasure or over-explaining. It comes from presence. Your partner doesn't want a shame-ridden version of you. They want you whole, grounded, and available. If you notice yourself slipping into shame, try this: Name it ("This is shame, it's not the truth"), notice how it feels in your body, then regulate through breathing and grounding. Finally, reconnect—sit close, breathe with your partner, and let your presence speak.Todd offers a free guide to help: "Three Ways to Reconnect Without Talking"—practical steps to repair your relationship when shame makes words feel impossible. In this episode, Brian Miller and Chad Hall revisit Matthew chapters 8 and 9 to explore the escalating revelation of Jesus' authority—from healing a leper and a centurion's servant to calming a storm and forgiving sins. They trace how each miracle expands the borders of inclusion, challenges human expectations, and demonstrates that nothing—disease, distance, nature, or even sin—can stand outside Jesus' transforming reach. The conversation turns deeply practical for Christian coaches, connecting forgiveness and reconciliation to the heart of transformational coaching. Key Highlights Inclusion as the heartbeat of the Kingdom. Jesus' first acts after the Sermon on the Mount—healing a leper and a Roman centurion's servant—reveal a radical openness that shocks religious boundaries. Escalating power and presence. Each story shows Jesus' authority expanding: from physical healing to calming creation to resolving the cosmic issue of sin. Opting out vs. opting in. Many reject Jesus not because He excludes them, but because inclusion offends their control, comfort, or sense of superiority. Forgiveness as spiritual power. Forgiving sins wasn't symbolic—it was a cataclysmic act that disrupted religious structures and revealed divine reconciliation. Coaching connection. Like Jesus, coaches help others see what's hidden beneath the surface—often an invisible need for forgiveness or reconciliation that keeps clients stuck. Takeaways Transformation begins with inclusion. God's kingdom reaches the excluded first—and invites everyone willing to step in. Forgiveness is deeper than fixing. In both faith and coaching, lasting change often starts with releasing resentment or guilt. Don't fear the storm. Growth requires following Jesus into chaos—where peace and clarity emerge. Invisible forces matter. Emotional and spiritual "black holes" like unforgiveness bend everything around them until they're addressed. Coaching is kingdom work. Helping clients reconcile—to God, themselves, and others—is a sacred act of restoration, not just problem-solving.

One of the most powerful weapons in difficult conversations isn't yelling, insults, or aggression — it's confusion. In this episode, I break down how confusion gets weaponized to avoid accountability, derail clarity, and exhaust you into giving up. You'll learn how to spot when confusion is genuine versus strategic, and exactly what to say to regain control, slow the conversation down, and protect your clarity without escalating the conflict. War-War: NATO Provocations and American Detachment from Europe — Gaius & Germanicus — Gaius reports on escalating aggressive rhetoric from NATO and fortification initiatives throughout the Baltic region, questioning whether these military deployments constitute "false flag" provocations deliberately designed to entrap the United Statesin direct warfare with Russia. Germanicus contends that European elites are systematically manufacturing an external Russian crisis to maintain institutional power and governmental legitimacy against ascending populist movements and deep-seated fear of abandonment by the new American "Emperor." Germanicus draws a historical parallel to the permanent schism of the Roman Empire in 395 AD, characterizing the United States as the prosperous, militarily secure Eastern Empire (Byzantine Constantinople) and contemporary Europe as the economically weak, militarily collapsing Western Empire facing irreversible institutional decay. Germanicus argues that just as Constantinople eventually ceased attempting to save the disintegrating Western Empire from Vandal invasions and territorial collapse, the United States is strategically detaching from European geopolitical failures, recognizing that continued military commitment represents strategic wastage of American resources without corresponding security benefit. Germanicus emphasizes that European strategic incompetence and political cowardice render European salvation impossible through Americanmilitary intervention, making strategic withdrawal the rational American policy response. 1944 GOLD BEACH H-HOUR
What happens when the person you love most goes quiet—not yelling, not fighting, just... gone?In this episode, Todd Creager addresses one of the most painful patterns in relationships: silent punishment. It's not always intentional. You've been hurt, so you pull back. You turn away. You go cold. It feels like self-protection, but to your partner, it feels like rejection.Todd shares the story of Ken and Terry, a couple stuck in a cycle where defensiveness led to withdrawal, and withdrawal led to loneliness. Terry stopped trying because Ken kept dismissing her feelings. Ken felt alone because Terry stopped reaching out. Both were protecting themselves—and both were suffering. The turning point? Terry did something small but significant. Instead of leaving the room during their next argument, she stayed. She sat on the couch with her back turned, still struggling, but physically present. That one act of silent presence—not silent treatment—opened the door for their first honest, soft moment in months.Todd explains why conflict doesn't always need to be solved through talking. Sometimes connection starts in the body. The silent cold shoulder feels like control. Silent presence feels like repair. When you stay in the room—not to punish, but to witness—you're telling your partner: I'm still here. I'm still open. This episode offers practical guidance on recognizing when you're withdrawing as punishment versus self-protection, and how to use non-verbal communication to repair your relationship. Todd walks you through what it looks like to let your body say "I'm still here" when your words can't.

PREVIEW — Steve Yates (Heritage Foundation) — Beijing's "Wolf Warrior" Aggression and Regional Economic Threat. Yates analyzes Beijing's escalating "wolf warrior" diplomatic aggression directed at Japan and the broader Indo-Pacific region, characterizing this as systematic coercive pressure combining military intimidation with economic and informational warfare. Yates argues that China's blended military and civilian-sector capabilities threaten control over approximately 50% of global container shipping traffic and maritime commerce, transforming this geopolitical conflict from an internal Chinese regional matter into a pressing global economic and security crisis affecting international commerce, supply chains, and energy security. Yates warns that Beijing's coercive strategy represents a fundamental threat to rules-based international commerce and global economic stability transcending bilateral China-Japan relations.

Josh Hammer explains again why Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is not a "war criminal," as the Left has ludicrously been suggesting. Why are leftists pushing this lie so hard? Hint: It has nothing to do with Hegseth himself or his actions, and everything to do with undermining President Trump's agenda every which way they possibly can. Josh also tackles the latest silly controversy over President Trump's harsh words on Somali immigrants, unpacks yesterday's Tennessee special election and crucial First Amendment case argued at the Supreme Court, and discusses last night's inspiring PragerU gala at Mar-a-Lago. If America seeks to turn around its various social maladies, there is perhaps nothing more important than inspiring young men and women and filling them with hope and gratitude.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Russia's Winter Strikes on Ukrainian Energy and the Battle for Pokrovsk. John Hardie discusses how Russia is escalating its winter campaign against Ukrainian energy infrastructure using a higher percentage of hard-to-intercept ballistic missiles and drones. This aims to break Ukrainian will and create leverage for negotiations. On the front, the battle for Pokrovsk is difficult, with Russians infiltrating the city and disrupting logistics using fiber-optic-controlled FPV drones.
