Nick and Dustin discuss whether college football was better in the past than it will be in the future.
From Auburn to Kansas State, from Ohio State to Oklahoma State, from UCLA to Missouri, Doug Lesmerises and Shehan Jeyarajah are putting more teams into a 12-team playoff context on this episode of The College Football Survivor Show. The BCS existed from 1998 to 2013, as polls and computers determined the top two teams that would meet for the national title, and Doug and Shehan are looking at which teams, coaches and conferences would have been aided by a structure that put 12 teams in the playoff. There's a lot of Big 12 here, plus a discussion of the shift in the SEC, the underdogs who moved up, and the conferences that may have been affected. Doug and Shehan previously did this on another episode with the teams of the four-team playoff era, and now they've going back a little more into history. One thing is clear, whether it's the BCS Era or the playoffs, the SEC bias is still as strong as ever! There is also a Matayo Uiagalelei school visit update that highlights other recruiting news as the open December transfer portal date approaches.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!LinkedInLinkedIn jobs help you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. This episode covers: Teams paying key players Loyalty in Sports ESPN Top College Teams of the BCS Era
Tonight we took a look back at one of the craziest seasons during the BCS Era of College Football.
"Five-star” is a term in recruiting reserved for the nation’s elite. Roughly 30 players each year are awarded the coveted fifth star next to their name by the recruiting websites. Does that mean every five-star athlete is a lock to be a superstar and future NFL first-round pick? Of course, not. Dozens of these recruits have lived up to the hype and have been extremely deserving of their five-star ranking. But who are the names that didn’t deserve it? Who are the biggest five-star busts of the BCS era? Who are the forgotten names across the states who were promised to bring championships to their respective universtities only to fall into college football obscurity forever? Join @JaiHov, @Lock_tha_Great and the producer of the show @Howezzy26 as they discuss the hottest sports news of the past week and provide a year-by-year breakdown of the biggest five-star busts of the BCS Era.

Determining the biggest college football flops of the past 10 years took a lot of nitpicking, and the criteria could be different from person to person. Every year in college football there are one or two teams who dramatically underachieve. For some supporters, it’s been a frustrating 21st century. Fans often have to endure a number of disappointing campaigns in a row – even if they root for an all-time great football school. Things like coaching changes, NCAA violations and poorly-timed losses can set a program back for years. A number of programs that were once national powers have fallen back to the middle of the pack – or worse.
