After being thrust into action due to injuries to the veteran quarterbacks ahead of him, the Ohio native is coming off two solid performances. The 6-foot-2 inch sophomore is a 3-star recruit per 247 Sports and currently plays at Northwest Mississippi Community College. They are number 21 in the country in scoring defense, number 36 in total defense, 38th in rushing defense and number 52 in passing yards allowed. Meanwhile, WVU football's offense is one of the worst in the country. Rich Rodriguez's unit ranks 98th in total offense, 113th in scoring and 114th in passing offense. The Mountaineers are top 50 nationally in rushing offense, coming in at number 47. Zac Alley's Mountaineer defense, led by safety Fred Perry and linebacker Chase Wilson, will be charged with slowing down the Houston offense led by quarterback Conner Weigman. The junior transfer from Texas A&M has thrown for 1,581 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has also ran for 354 yards on 87 carries.
