Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise reacts to ESPN's NFL quarter-century team released this week, which included only two Steelers on the 53-man roster. Why were Alan Faneca and Troy Polamalu the only names to make the cut? Did T.J. Watt deserve a spot over the Browns' Myles Garrett? And were names including Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Chris Boswell, Cam Heyward, Hines Ward, James Harrison and Maurkice Pouncey snubbed?

There is a lot of risk for the Steelers taking Aaron Rodgers as QB1. The idea of a one-helmet guy goes out the window when the Steelers don't think you can play anymore. Joe thinks the Steelers pushed out Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, and Ben Roethlisberger out before they wanted to retire and were willing to leave open the possibility the first two would go elsewhere. Mark thinks Hines Ward should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and it's crazy that Ward isn't in. Ward owns 1,000 catches and was a terrific blocker as well. James Farrior is also up for the Hall of Fame and Joe would vote for Farrior over Harrison.
