AI isn't coming for markets — it's already here.In this episode of Futures Edge, Jim Iuorio and Bob Iaccino sit down with Nathan Powell, Founder & CEO of Deep Market Making, to explore how deep learning is quietly transforming bond markets, trading desks, and financial decision-making — far faster than most investors realize.Nathan shares his journey from Microsoft's early deep-learning research to JP Morgan, where AI models beat traditional bond pricing systems and went live in production. From there, the conversation expands into bigger, more uncomfortable questions:- Will AI eliminate trading jobs — or redefine them?- Is the “edge” in markets shifting from execution to asking better questions?- Can AI optimize markets without causing dangerous alignment or crashes?- And what does this mean for younger generations choosing careers in a world where intelligence is automated? This episode goes well beyond investing. It's about how humans coexist with exponentially improving machines, why finance may be the most under-AI'd industry of all, and why traders may need to think more like entrepreneurs going forward.Timestamps: Chapters00:00 Introduction and Housekeeping01:00 Nathan Powell's Background in AI and Finance03:59 The Role of AI in Trading and Market Predictions07:44 Human vs AI: The Future of Trading11:44 Deep Market Making: Applications and Future Plans14:24 AI's Pervasiveness and Its Impact on Employment17:16 Education and the Future Job Landscape20:54 Concerns About Technology and Its Effects on Society24:31 AI's Accuracy and Reliability in Financial Markets27:59 The Impact of AI on Various Sectors29:03 AI in Finance: A Game Changer29:52 Challenges in Quantitative Finance31:01 Measuring AI's ROI in Banking32:40 Optimizing Trading Strategies with AI37:00 Multi-Objective Optimization in Trading39:07 Addressing AI Fears and Misalignments42:08 The Future of AI and Financial Crashes44:07 Convergence of AI and Crypto

The health and fitness space is changing fast—and not all of it is for the better. In this episode of The Fitness League Podcast, Josh, Alessandra, and Joelle break down the rising popularity of GLP-1 medications, the explosion of peptide marketing, and the growing influence of social media on how people make health decisions. We talk honestly about what these tools can and can't do, why quick fixes are being sold as long-term solutions, and how misinformation spreads when integrity takes a back seat to engagement. This isn't about fear or shame—it's about becoming a smarter consumer in an industry that often profits from confusion. We also introduce and reinforce the L5 Method—training, nutrition, mindset, movement, and habits—as the foundation that no medication, supplement, or trend can replace. Along the way, we discuss caffeine use, community and environment, and why foundational health practices still matter most if your goal is sustainable progress. If you've felt overwhelmed by health trends, unsure who to trust, or curious about where modern medicine fits into a healthy lifestyle, this episode will help you zoom out, think critically, and refocus on what actually moves the needle. A multitude of orphanages in the Global South continue to be supported by well-meaning Christians throughout the world. Research and scripture both indicate that God's design for children is to grow up in a family, but what do we do when it's the church that needs to be convinced of this? Brandon Stiver is joined today by Tony Lewry who shares his experience in orphan care and cross-cultural ministry over the years as we dive into what it looks like to change mindsets and practices in these global chains of care. Tony leads The Homecoming Project and coordinates across a coalition of organizations tackling the issue of children outside of parental care. In our conversation, Tony and Brandon discuss the evolution of family-based care, the challenges and successes of implementing foster care, and the vital role of the church in advocating for vulnerable children. Welcome to episode #1022 of Thinking With Mitch Joel (formerly Six Pixels of Separation). At a moment when organizational change is too often treated as a mandate rather than an experience people choose to embrace, Phil Gilbert has spent his career proving that transformation only sticks when it earns genuine buy-in. Phil is a design executive, transformation leader and former General Manager of Design at IBM, where he architected one of the largest cultural and operational shifts in corporate history, helping nearly 400,000 employees across 180 countries become more entrepreneurial, agile and customer-centered. Trained as both a designer and systems thinker, Phil brought design thinking out of studios and into the core of enterprise decision-making, reshaping how teams collaborated, how products were built, and how leaders understood their customers. His work at IBM addressed hard truths, including the company's struggles with usability and missed opportunities in the early cloud era, by treating change itself as a product worthy of rigor, investment, and care. That experience became the foundation for his book Irresistible Change - A Blueprint For Earning Buy-In And Breakout Success, which blends narrative and field guide to show how large organizations can scale transformation by focusing on people, practices, and environments rather than slogans or top-down directives. Phil's approach reframes culture as an outcome, not an initiative, arguing that lasting change emerges when employees see themselves in the future being designed. Beyond IBM, his work as an executive coach and advisor continues to focus on how leaders navigate complexity, align teams, and thoughtfully integrate technologies like AI into human systems without eroding trust or creativity. Grounded in real-world execution rather than theory, Phil's perspective challenges organizations to stop forcing change and start making it irresistible. Nathan and Scott discuss how AI has overtaken environmental issues as the dominant theme, while also questioning the irony of elite climate discussions driven by private travel. They examine how rapidly AI is reshaping daily life and challenge listeners to think beyond the present, including the implications of a near future marked by ideas such as "AI 2027" and the path toward artificial general intelligence. The discussion turns to philanthropy and nonprofits, where AI can improve efficiency but cannot replace human generosity, judgment, or relationships. Nathan and Scott emphasize ethical oversight, critical thinking, and responsible use of donor resources. They also address AI's impact on jobs, youth, and relationships, warning against over-reliance on relational AI. Have you been diagnosed with candida overgrowth — but you're frustrated that your treatments haven't work? Have you not been diagnosed, but all your symptoms — bloating, brain fog, sugar cravings, skin flares, even recurring yeast infections or UTIs — keep pointing you back to candida?Or have you treated candida before… felt better during the protocol… and then watched everything slowly creep back in and thought, “Why is this happening again?” If you said "yes" to any of these questions - this episode is for you. Today we're continuing the Real Root Cause Series, where I'm taking conditions that are commonly labeled as root causes — and breaking down to you what their REAL root causes are. This is super powerful because understanding a fake vs. real root cause is the difference between healing from your symptoms permanently... or not. Today's topic is: candida. My hope is that this episode blows your mind and helps you to completely rewire how you think about candida. If you get today's episode, you will understand everything you need to to In this episode, I'm breaking down:Why treating candida directly - with diet changes, cleanses, or supplements - so often doesn't work (and ends up with you doing it again and again)The real root causes that drive candida to overgrow in the first placeWhy different people have totally different sets of candida causes underneath the surfaceWhat testing can actually help you map the problem correctlyAnd what you need to do so candida doesn't just disappear for a month… and then take over again And one more thing — I'm doing something new for this entire Real Root Cause Series: visuals. If you're a visual learner, or you want the big picture laid out clearly, go to betterbellytherapies.com/root to download the graphics that go with this episode. Because when you stop fighting candida like it's your primary enemy... and start addressing what's actually feeding it — that's when it stops coming back. Join her free health & longevity newsletter here: https://www.drvondawright.com/resources/aging-longevity There's a moment many women reach in midlife where things don't feel wrong but they don't feel right either. Digestion changes. Bloating appears out of nowhere. Sleep feels lighter. Inflammation lingers. And no one ever told us these systems might all be connected. I sat down with Cynthia Thurlow, a nurse practitioner and intermittent fasting expert, to talk about a topic that is still vastly underexplored in women's health: the gut microbiome during perimenopause and menopause. So many women are told their digestive symptoms, inflammation, mood changes, or recurrent infections are just "part of aging." What Cynthia makes clear is that these experiences are deeply rooted in physiology and that when we understand what's happening, we're no longer powerless. This conversation matters because it replaces dismissal with clarity and fear with context. We examine how this topic shows up in daily life: - Why declining estrogen affects gut barrier integrity, immune response, and inflammation - How "leaky gut" can contribute to bone loss, autoimmune risk, and metabolic changes - The connection between gut health, mood, anxiety, and neurotransmitter signaling - Why fiber and short-chain fatty acids become more important in perimenopause and menopause - How fermented foods can support microbiome diversity and recovery after stress, illness, or antibiotics - The gut–vaginal microbiome connection and why improving one can support the other - How chronic stress and unprocessed trauma can accelerate hormonal aging and menopause timing About Cynthia Thurlow: Cynthia Thurlow, NP is a nurse practitioner, intermittent fasting expert, and educator specializing in women's health, hormones, and longevity. Her work bridges functional and conventional medicine, with a focus on helping women understand the physiological changes of perimenopause and menopause through a science-based, compassionate lens.

Here we sharpen the person behind the practitioner by focusing on things that improve our performance, optimizing team dynamics and the human behavior that embodies the hidden curriculum of medicine. In this episode, hosted by Drs. Mark Ramzy and Marco Propersi, we’re excited to introduce a collaboration with Arena Labs. Arena Labs is helping us measure healthcare performance through innovative programs designed to combat burnout and enhance personal wellness using data-driven strategies. Cognitive Question What would it look like in emergency medicine and critical care to be set up with the same tools as elite teams and professional athletes when it comes to measuring performance and recovery? How would our patients benefit? 💭 Why This is Important Burnout among healthcare workers is a growing concern, especially in such high-pressure environments as emergency and intensive care units. The collaboration with Arena Labs brings forth a vital focus on using data and coaching to build resilience among medical professionals. 🌟Be Brilliant at the Basics Ask yourself — “What is it on your time off that gives you a deep sense of fulfillment?”On your time off are you doing things that fill your bucket and add to your recovery? What is Allostasis and Allostatic Load Allostasis: Our body’s ability to adapt over time to stress. It’s relevant to the phase you are in during this particular season in your life. Ex. You are a first year medical student freaking out about your very first exam. Over time as you do more exams, they are still stressful, but by now you have developed modified study habits to succeed and get used to the frequent examsIn the context of emergency medicine, you may be nervous or stressed about your first shift at a new hospital but overtime you learn the staff, the location of equipment, the acuity of that particular site, the patient population so over time you get used to the stress of a shift at that new hospitalAllostatic Load: The wear and tear on the body from chronic stress due to maladaptation or poor recovery methods. This refers to the cumulative burden of chronic stress and life events. It involves the interaction of different physiological systems at varying degrees of activity.Ex. You are an emergency medicine physician at a very busy, high acuity center and have never prioritized taking care of yourself on/during a shift. As a result, external factors add to not being able to fully recover when you get home or are off shift (ie. Admin work, teaching obligations, family/friends) and so you never fully recover before you have to go back on shift to the same stressors you just exposed yourself to. So the cycle continuesFigure 1: Long term effects of Chronic Stress (Source: Andrew Hogue from NeuroFit) 🏥How This Applies to the Emergency Department or ICU? Healthcare workers in emergency departments (ED) and intensive care units (ICU) are often under enormous stress due to the nature of their work. Arena Labs’ program offers tailored solutions, helping ED and ICU staff manage their unique challenges through effective recovery techniques and performance tools. This approach caters specifically to the demanding schedules and the unpredictability inherent in these environments. 👀 Where to Learn More Intrigued by the possibilities this partnership offers? Notes Matthew 4:12-23 Isaiah 9:1-4 1 Corinthians 1:10-18 Summary In this episode of the Pulpit Fiction Podcast, hosts Robb McCoy and Eric Fistler delve into the Gospel reading from Matthew 4:12-23, which recounts the calling of the fishermen. They explore the significance of Jesus' call to Simon Peter and Andrew, as well as James and John, emphasizing the differences in the Gospel narratives. The discussion highlights the socio-political context of Galilee, where Jesus begins his ministry amid Roman oppression, and the implications of being 'fishers of men' as a call to advocate for justice rather than mere evangelism. The hosts also touch on the upcoming readings from Isaiah and 1 Corinthians, drawing connections between the texts and contemporary issues of division within the church and society. Takeaways Jesus's call to the fishermen is immediate and transformative. The Gospels present different perspectives on the same events. The arrest of John the Baptist serves as a catalyst for Jesus's ministry. Church divisions can distract from the core message of unity in Christ. The Kingdom of Heaven challenges existing power structures. The AI gap will kill companies. What is it? it's the large divide between AI's crazy impressive capabilities and what most companies are actually using them for. And one of the biggest reasons for the AI gap? Talking. Like... no one understands how to talk about AI because the technology changes faster than Usain Bolt in Beijing. You wanna talk to your AI team about LLMs? PFT. They're running Ralph Wiggum loops in Claude Code and just kinda reading the code before it hits production. Yeah, the divide is WIIIIIDE. Have you been told that slow motility is the reason you're constipated, bloated, or dealing with digestive issues that just won't resolve?Have you tried to “treat” slow motility — with supplements, laxatives, diets, or protocols — only to find that nothing actually sticks?Or maybe you haven't been formally diagnosed, but all signs seem to point to slow digestion, sluggish bowels, or food just not moving the way it should. If any of that sounds familiar, this episode is for you.Today we're continuing the Real Root Cause Series, where I'm taking conditions that are commonly labeled as root causes — and breaking down to you what their REAL root causes are. This is super powerful because understanding a fake vs. real root cause is the difference between finding healing from your symptoms... or not.Today's topic is: slow motility.Slow motility is a common diagnosis I hear clients get from a doctor who explains that "slow motility" is why they have constipation, acid reflux, bloating, or some other digestive issue. The solution to slow motility, according to the doctor, is usually either "get used to it", surgery (when motility is bad enough), or a merry-go-round of supplements or medications designed to help "slow motility" (but that don't really help relieve your symptoms). The reason these methods don't really help slow motility is because slow motility is NOT a root cause. It's being CAUSED by something else! That's why, on today's episode, I'm breaking down:Why treating slow gut motility with supplements or medications rarely worksThe real causes of slow gut motilityHow to test for these root causes of low motilityAnd what actually needs to be addressed for motility to return naturallyIf you're ready to stop chasing new and different supplements or simply feeling like a victim to the rate your body decided to digest at - then this episode is for you.TIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Introduction to Slow Motility 00:34 - Understanding Real Root Causes 01:00 - Common Misdiagnoses and Misconceptions 02:01 - Welcome to the Better Belly Podcast 03:10 - Deep Dive into Slow Motility 07:46 - Symptoms and Related Conditions 09:04 - Root Causes of Slow Motility 13:43 - Digestive Enzymes and Their Importance 17:34 - Visceral Adhesions Explained 20:32 - Understanding Myofascial and Visceral Adhesions 21:44 - Finding a Qualified Practitioner for Visceral Manipulation 22:32 - Self-Evaluation Techniques for Visceral Adhesions 23:21 - The Role of the Vagus Nerve in Motility 25:35 - Mold and Its Impact on Gut Health 27:56 - Other Pathogens Affecting Gut Motility 29:34 - Nutrient Deficiencies and Constipation 31:04 - Food Sensitivities and Inflammation 32:41 - Thyroid Issues and Slow Motility 34:49 - Comprehensive Testing and Protocols 38:13 - Conclusion and Next StepsEPISODES MENTIONED:235// SIBO Symptoms, SIBO Testing, and Why SIBO Treatments Fail
