After losing in blowout fashion to the Kansas Jayhawks, WVU football fans are having to re-evaluate their expectations for this Mountaineer team for 2025. With Rich Rodriguez in his first year back in Morgantown, and the fact he brought in over 80 new players, maybe a winning season isn't realistic. In this episode, Couz will take a look at his original preseason record prediction for WVU and tell you whether or not he is changing that prediction based on what he has seen the first month of the season. WVU still has road games at BYU, UCF, Houston and Arizona State; as well as home games against Utah, TCU, Colorado and Texas Tech. With a schedule this tough, combined with the rebuilt roster and injuries sustained by several Mountaineer players; it may be tough to find four more wins for bowl eligibility. Will that happen? He will also take a look at the 2024 Indiana Hoosiers team. Which team will the 2025 West Virginia Mountaineers come closer to emulating? Since the transfer portal era began, WVU has had several players who made an impact on their respective teams; whether it be on the field, on the court, or in the hearts of fans. There have also been many grad transfers who made an impact before the transfer portal was even a thing. In this episode, Couz will countdown his top five one year players in the history of West Virginia Mountaineer sports. Former West Virginia defensive back, Beanie Bishop, drew the ire of Pitt Panther fans by wiping his feet on a Pitt logo. However, it made him even more loved by WVU football fans. Add that to his play on the field while he was in Morgantown, and Beanie has to be one of the top one year transfers in the history of WVU sports. But, is he number one? There have also been some really good WVU basketball players who played only one season for the Mountaineers. Names like Javon Small and Erik Stevenson, to name two. Do they make the list, and if so, how do they stack up against Bishop and other great one year West Virginia athletes? Couz gives his thoughts in the episode. #wvu #wvufootball #wvubasketball Sources: sports-reference.com ESPN.com Hailwv.com _________________________________________ ⭐️Sponsors: ⭐️ https://www.katzkantor.com http://appalachiadigital.com/couz/

In this episode Couz dives deep into the heated debate over the proposed College Football Playoff expansion models: the 4-4-2-2-1-3 vs. the 5+11 format. Couz breaks down both models, exploring their implications for the Big 12 and college football as a whole. Initially skeptical, Couz is starting to see eye-to-eye with FOX Sports' Joel Klatt, who argues the 5+11 model could hurt the sport and marginalize conferences like the Big 12. Could the 4-4-2-2-1 model, with its guaranteed spots for the Big 12, be the better path forward? Join Couz as he weighs the pros and cons, unpacks the politics behind the CFP expansion, and explains why the 4-4-2-2-1 format might just give the Big 12 the edge it needs.
