Back in Phoenix in our regular studio, so we looked briefly at the racist Rutgers professor and -white folks,- then we spent about twenty minutes responding to more of Muhammed Hijab's opening statement against the Trinity, and then listened to a few minutes of the -Coffee House Sessions- webcast on the modern state of Reformed Baptist and Robert Briggs' accusation that biblicism is neo-Socinianism and that this is the reason for the division amongst real, confessional Reformed Baptists and those who just -pretend.- Sad days for the RB movement, to be sure.

In this episode, we announce the upcoming Coffee House Sessions, part of Broken Wharfe's new Audio Streaming Platform. Our listeners are given a taster of what to expect from this new channel. During this episode, we drop in on a conversation regarding recent videos released by Jordan Peterson. The guys discuss Dr Peterson and Conservative Evangelicalism. They offer a response by those who are well aware of the issues and fill a gap by showing that not all of the Christian Church are as unfit as Peterson suggests.  The rise of Peterson's popularity among evangelicals and his attempt to answer many of life's big questions by utilising Christian terms has led to today's Session. To see the context and videos referenced during this Session, see the links below.Video links:Jordan Peterson, Message to the Christian ChurchesJordan Peterson, Comments on the Queens's PassingContact us at info@brokenwharfe.comWebsite: www.brokenwharfe.com
We have another great performance from our sister video show – The Sun Parlour Coffee House Sessions to bring you on Episode 574 of Folk Roots Radio. This time around we’re joined by Windsor ON based singer-songwriter Philip Scott Poli. Actually, we should say songwriter Philip Scott Poli because Phil is adamant that songwriting is what he loves to do and that he’s not that much of a singer or performer – but we’re going to let you be the judge of that. Phil gave us a great session late last year, and we’re pleased to bring part of that to you on this episode. As always, we also take a look at more of the latest new releases and this time around – it’s all by Canadian artists, as we hear from Bùmarang, Jean-Paul De Roover, Susan Ellenton, Craig Cardiff, Stéafán & Saskia, Scott MacKay, Shane Pendergast, David LaFleche. Hollie Haines, an alt-folk singer-songwriter based in London plays music of powerful and honest lyrics, teamed with delicately crafted melodies. Starting off in Cambridge she played the UK's largest one-day festival, Strawberry Fair, and since has been involved with The Coffee House Sessions, Oxjam and Sofar Sounds. Â 2018 is promising to be an exciting year for Hollie. After deciding to to finish her time in Leeds where she had been studying music for three years, she moved to London. Haines marked the transition with the single 'Keep Moving On', a nod towards her country influences. She is currently in the midst of her biggest project to date; releasing a 7 track concept album over the next 7 months, one track a month. She has also recently completed an EU tour covering 7Â countries. Â When performing live, Hollie pairs her deeply emotive, honest lyrics with quips and anecdotes about the people and stories that have inspired her music, to give an enrapturing performance.Â
In this final episode of the Coffee House Sessions, we ask one last question to help us in our quest to develop a right perspective: Who gets the credit? How do we deny our instincts to glorify ourselves and instead surrender that glory to God? Thank you for walking alongside us in re-centering our perspective around Christ for 2018. Join us as we Go Outside and apply what God's revealed to us through this series in our day-to-day lives. Episode Highlights: 0:52 - No guts, no glory: do you have the guts to do something that doesn't give yourself glory? 1:56 - Why we're now free to serve 3:03 - Wrestling with how to give God glory in the workplace 4:34 - A few actions steps towards how we can surrender glory to God 5:43 - What seeking the right perspective is teaching Lee about being an Outsider and setting goals
