Men often struggle with this concept, while our wives and children long for it. Men were actually created with the same need: A Heart Connection. Ryan and Dennis try to articulate that need and how to create it in our own families. “The prayer room has a central role of intercession and asking for these things, but bigger and more important in the eyes of the Lord is that the people who come before him are actually connected to his heart.” - Brian Creary This week on SHOP cast Brian and Emily begin a discussion on not just coming to God with requests, but also engaging our hearts with his. They start by answering the question, Why do we sing love songs to Jesus instead of just always presenting our requests to him? An inventive blend of superhero action, high school drama and found footage horror, Chronicle is the kind of auspicious debut that should have set director Josh Trank on the road to a glittering career. Then Fantastic Four happened... Disappointing follow-ups aside, Chronicle remains one of the most refreshing movies we've covered on this podcast in a while, and we'd definitely be open to some kind of sequel. In this week's episode, Lee Agne of the Connected Hearts podcast joins us to discuss hormonal superheroes, alien spunk, why every high school house party takes place in a mansion and more... ----- Beyond The Box Set is a weekly movie podcast with a creative twist. Every episode sees us taking a deep dive into a classic standalone movie, before competing to pitch ludicrous sequel ideas to bring them back to the big screen. We've been recommended by publications including The Guardian and Podbean, and featured as a 'binge worthy podcast' on iTunes. We also have over 150 five-star user reviews at time of publication. If you enjoy the show, please hit subscribe for a new episode every Friday morning, and feel free to add to our tally of positive ratings and reviews - they truly help us to reach out to new listeners so it's much appreciated. beyondtheboxset.com patreon.com/beyondtheboxset twitter.com/beyondtheboxset facebook.com/beyondtheboxset instagram.com/beyondtheboxset 00.00: Teenage John had definite supervillain potential 42.30: Chronicle Drinking Games 52.50: Chronicle II: Chronic Back Pain 1.03.07: ChronIIcle 1.17.10: Chronicles of Chronicle 1.25.25: Episode 126 Preview & Listener Submissions

In the spring of 2019, Christen and her friend Ellen Helbig Kangas of Connected Hearts Yoga launched the Connected Hearts Podcast. The genesis of the podcast is their shared difficulty in connecting with others upon moving to the Washington, D.C. area. It made sense to them that if they struggled to find community others might feel the same way. Through this podcast, Ellen and Christen want to be your community! Ellen and Christen will catch up twice a month, share their relationship and friendship ups and downs, the lessons they're learning and wisdom they've gained. They will interview special guests, and will cover monthly topics ranging from connection to money!
