In this episode of the Uploft Interior Design Podcast, I shared how I recently changed my podcast schedule to make my busy workweeks more manageable while juggling exciting design projects like a plastic surgeon's office and a corporate lounge space. I also talked about taking Mahjong classes as a way to build community in Connecticut and how I became obsessed with a Mahjong influencer's colorful style, only to realize after spending hundreds of dollars on clothes that I was trying to become someone else instead of embracing my own style. That experience led me into a bigger conversation about how people often fall in love with aspirational interiors or fashion that don't actually fit their real lives, homes, or personalities. I answered a listener's question about why dining chandeliers should hang lower over tables, explaining how lighting placement creates intimacy and visual connection in a room. Finally, I dove into my mixed feelings about Lena Dunham's memoir Famesick, praising her incredible writing while also criticizing what I felt was a lack of honesty about privilege and accountability in parts of the book. The crew goes live and immediately loses direction over new cafe policies and a "storm of the century" that barely sprinkles. Between Coral's first official lesbian night out and a deep dive into the haunted mansions and "vibrating duck" trade-outs of Bad Girls Club production, this episode is a love letter to messy industry stories and a roast of the most unholy protein meal ever consumed. This Week's Insanity:The "And Destroy" Commandments: Jeff addresses the new seating fees and purchase requirements, explaining why a communal space for trading card games can't survive as a "public library" for non-paying patrons. Gay News: Allegations fly between Ruby Rose and Katy Perry, while the crew recounts taking Coral to her first "lesbian night" at Personal Best—only to end the night at The Eagle's "Meat Rack" surrounded by stacks of pizza. Coachella Critiques: A roast of Sabrina Carpenter's "ice skater" aesthetic and why the group had to click away from Susan Sarandon's 20-minute drive-in monologue. Reality TV Trauma Dump (BGC Edition): Jeff relives the chaos of seasons 1 through 10, featuring hair chandeliers, white chocolate busts, and a haunted Atlanta mansion where shop vacs turned themselves on in the middle of the night. The "Art" of the Set: A look back at the days of "trade-outs" from sex toy companies and the financial disaster that ensued when a cast member threw bleach on actual gallery-loaned artwork. Coral's Corner: The group debates the "abomination" of Coral's dietary habits—specifically eating lemon pepper tuna out of a bag and washing it down with a chocolate peanut butter protein shake to hit her macros. Loose, chaotic, and deeply high-protein — this episode is what happens when you survive fifteen seasons of reality TV and realize your bone density is thanks to a childhood of "taco milk." New episodes every week.Only at Revenge Of — where the vibes are queer, the art is bleached, and we always follow the pecking order.

In this episode of the Uploft Interior Design Podcast, I celebrate over a decade of hosting my interior design podcast before diving straight into listener questions, starting with helping Rachel rethink her gray bedroom that feels cold at night—I reassure her the paint works but suggest adding color, adjusting mismatched nightstands, upgrading textiles, and even trying a bold faux drapery trick to balance the room. Then I guide Cody through choosing the right dining room light fixture, explaining simple rules for chandelier size, shape, and placement to elevate his space without overwhelming it. I wrap up by encouraging listeners to submit their own design dilemmas and even consider pursuing interior design themselves, reflecting my passion for making design approachable and practical for everyone. In this episode of The Uploft Interior Design Podcast, I answer listener design questions and focus on practical ways to improve everyday spaces. I start by helping Priya from Austin rethink her home office Zoom background, explaining how a balanced backdrop with subtle patterns, greenery, and good lighting can look polished without being distracting, and emphasizing that the background should support—not compete with—the person on screen. Then I help Caroline from Tennessee decide on lighting for her dining room, recommending one strong chandelier rather than multiple fixtures above a dining table and explaining how the size, shape, and texture of the light should complement the table and introduce a new material to the room. Throughout the episode, I share design principles about simplicity, balance, and texture while encouraging listeners to submit their own questions and experiment thoughtfully with their spaces. To be able to make art from antlers takes a lot of talent. Nick Jeffries is an avid hunter, family guy, outdoorsman, shed hunter, and loves to build antlers into custom Chandeliers. As I'm at his shop to pick up one of his works of art, I decided to do a podcast with him to get to know him more. Jacob Bowers loved dancing his whole life but didn't realize how extreme his passion was until at 14, he stumbled upon Sia's Chandelier music video, and he was mesmerized. He just had to dance like that! He then got his whole family to start watching Dance Moms, and he learned many of the solos and taught himself acro tricks in his living room! He moved to LA at 19 and was taking fifteen hours of ballet a week. He got signed by an agency right away and began teaching acrobatics and contemporary at various studios, as well as performing! But even with this success, Jacob felt apprehensive to take class at some of the bigger dance studios because he thought he needed even more formal training first. Cut to a few months ago, and he's been taking contemporary classes regularly at Millennium and feeling so encouraged by the teachers and community there. Jacob plans to continue training and choreographing, and he's looking forward to future opportunities to perform and work with other creatives.Follow our dance journeys on Instagram:@Jacob.Bowers@DanceJourneyPodcast@TracyinLA

It is for me!" jokes Kelly, but for Christi it really is one last rough plunge. While Kelly gets to sit out the Season 4 Reunion "Playing Favorites", Christi wasn't so lucky. At least she didn't have to go first this time! But it is officially Christi's last episode until Season 7, so there's a lot to unpack.Jeff Collins is back and as frustrating as ever, backing Abby up whenever possible and changing the subject if it looks like things might get dicey. Special attention is given to Maddie on this recap since she's still riding high off the success of Chandelier, and her second Sia video is in the process of being prepped. But the moms take issue with Melissa's backhanded dealings to get Maddie ahead, even at the cost of Mackenzie. But Melissa can't admit she might be wrong as she's only looking out for her own kids, despite the fact that all the moms would stick their neck out for each other's child.Holly takes Abby to task for how she treats Nia and her odious teaching methods. Meanwhile the Select team airs their grievances over what they see as a lack of good choreography when it comes to standing a chance competitions, realizing finally what the OG moms had warned them about.Quotes“Can I borrow your get your finger out of my face dress? For what, Halloween?!? No, and not my wig either. OH MY GOD, I forgot you had a wig. Kelly let me borrow both! No! I hate you!" (17:18-17:34 | Christi & Kelly)“I thought that [whiteboard] experiment would have opened Abby's eyes a little bit. No. Kelly she has her eyes slammed shut. She has them glued with E6000 and she's wearing a sleep mask. She doesn't want her eyes open." (39:39-39:56 | Christi & Kelly)“Last week when Abby said that about [Chloe's] eye, they did not write that in the field notes. They're protecting her even in field notes." (43:55-44:01 | Christi)“The moms on the original team argued with each other, but we never got physical. Ok except for me and Leslie, but that doens't count because it wasn't someone on the team. Sign up to be the first to know our tour cities and dates and ticket access! https://backtothebarrelive.myflodesk.com/livetourwaitlist"I went old school today. I will be drinking heavily during this episode, because I watched it and I have a lot to say," laments Christi as she does have quite a bit to say about what really went down on her last day as a member of the ALDC."Hollywood Here We Come Part 2" sees Cathy follow through on her promise to rub it in Abby's face that the Candy Apples will be performing to Chandelier. Unfortunately for Cathy (who clearly is already uncomfortable with the production forcing her to do so), everyone finds this more annoying than devastating. It's a disservice to her own team to be seen trying to cash in on Maddie's moment, a fact Melissa drives home by getting Maddie to perform a bit of the actual music video dance for the crowd in order to steal candy apple's thunder.Meanwhile, Abby is more determined than ever to try and embarrass Chloe, from sabotaging the choreography to praising Kamryn for the same things Chloe always gets scolded for. So you can imagine when the judges decide to favor Chloe over Kamryn, Abby's mood sowers very quickly. Things come to a head when Abby starts dishing out some truly outrageous insults that almost trick Christi into recreating Kelly's infamous fight. So what held her back? Tune-in for all the secrets to finally be revealed!Quotes“I don't need my eyes to listen to you say stupid things." (42:32-42:35 | Christi)“This is weird. This is so bizarre, like who is coming up with this s**t? Can I please produce? Put me up in the booth! " (52:32-52:36 | Christi & Kelly)“Obviously Abby went to a tanning booth the day before this competition. Oh my god she was like orange! Yes with that orange lipstick! It was so bad. And she says the word 'hhhuuuuugggeee' all the time? All I was thinking is there is another reality star who is orange and says that a lot and I've never seen them in the same room together. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with Sarah McLaughlin about her new book, Authoritarians in the Academy: How the Internationalization of Higher Education and Borderless Censorship Threaten Free Speech. As a Senior Scholar at The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, Sarah is one of the leading experts on how global censorship intersects with free expression issues in the United States. In this episode of Banished, Sarah discusses her book's key findings and offers her reflections on the nerve-wracking, topsy-turvy free speech climate in the United States today. Alan provides a new Thursday Thought episode. Alan encourages inventors not to make the mistake of "paying for the chandeliers." Inventors often overpay for services they need - by contracting with companies that charge premium prices, for unneeded services. Alan describes how to pay for what you need, at affordable prices. Chandeliers made of human bones… and that's just the beginning.Beneath a quiet Gothic church in Sedlec, Czech Republic, lies one of the world's most haunting works of art—the Sedlec Ossuary. Here, the remains of over 40,000 people have been transformed into macabre masterpieces: bone pyramids, skull-lined walls, and skeletal chandeliers that drip with history… and tragedy. Some skulls still bear bullet holes, silent witnesses to centuries of violence. Join Anne and Renata as they peel back the chilling history, the whispered hauntings, and the dark allure that makes this “Bone Church” one of Europe's most unsettling wonders. My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Ben Hawken, author of the book Chandelier. Ben is the award-winning creator of several beloved video series and a small handful of children. Previously, he was the author of zero other books and graduated with honors from a community college, as well as a real college. He lives outside Seattle with his family. In my book review, I stated Chandelier is a can't-put-down thriller that kept me reading long past my bedtime! We meet Sienna as a young child who finds herself working on a government project because of a small ridge present in her brain. According to the scientists, this ridge is like an antenna that picks up Russian signals. Sienna loves that she is part of something big, but when her part in the project is over, she feels unfulfilled - as though she failed. She spends the rest of her life trying to outrun that feeling. As an adult, Sienna is a wife, mother, and expert in her field. She is also somewhat aloof and has never revealed to her secret life as a child. Until ... the past comes barreling into her present and threatens to destroy her carefully laid future. I love Sienna's character. She is tough and smart, but also scared and scarred. Like me, she would do anything for her children - and that resolve is tested as she reveals long-hidden truths and makes difficult decisions for her family. I was on the edge of my seat and loved the twists and turns of this story. It's a must read! Some songs don't just get stuck in your head—they set up camp in your chest. In this episode, we're joined by South African pop artist Charlie Void, whose high-gloss sound and emotionally raw lyrics are redefining what queer pop can be. From the dancefloor to the depths of emotional survival, Charlie shares how music became both an escape and a mirror—how it held them through moments of heartbreak, identity struggle, and creative rebirth. We talk about:* The pressure to perform happiness (and what happens when you stop)* How music like Sia's “Chandelier” helped shape Charlie's emotional honesty* Turning personal chaos into connection—and catchy choruses* The relationship between queerness, visibility, and vulnerability in pop* The liberation of making music that's as glittery as it is guttingWhether you've danced through your own breakdown or found healing in a song you couldn't stop repeating, this one's for you.Charlie doesn't just make bangers—they make you feel. Loudly. And unapologetically.Connect with Charlie Void HERECould you say hello on Instagram?Theme music by: Lincoln ParishComment on the episode HEREWe also make Dads Cry Too and What's Your Story? "It is Season 4 Episode 24, and it's called Abby-phobic. Hhhhmmmm, I'm Abby-phobic." remarks Christi, and considering the raw deal Chloe gets this week that Abby-phobia is going to be out in full force soon enough. This week the girls are set to attend Imagine National Dance Challenge, a competition primarily set-up to avoid having the ALDC at the standard Star dance Alliance Competitions. This does however mean the ALDC is set to face off against Studio Bleu, Abby's worst nightmare. She panics and throws out the current group dance, convinced they're going to lose no matter what and so as to not waste another competition's sure-fire winning dance. Instead, Abby begins to focus on the pre-teen categories so as to avoid competing with Studio Bleu all-together. But will the team have time to figure out a new routine in time for competition?Abby is also intent on propping up Maddie whenever possible as the Chandelier coverage has been heating up. In case Maddie needs to fly to LA at a moments notice, Jade from the Select Team is brought in as a temporary team member and Mackenzie is benched to age up the group overall.. Loree, Jade's mom, is worried over Abby's handling of the group routine. Christi is also annoyed that due to Abby's fear of Studio Bleu, Chloe will be forced to compete with Jade in solos despite their age difference.Quotes“I can't believe they gave you such an important piece of information. I know! They obviously didn't know who I was." (03:06-03:14 | Christi & Kelly)“That's a good idea. Huh, see I'm smart in some ways. Who the f**k needs books! I know what to do with my alcohol!” (14:16-14:30 | Christi & Kelly)“Everyone who asks if these competitions were fake: No they weren't fake, nobody was there. That's why we won all the time!" (29:54-30:00 | Christi)“I don't want to be in Studio A. If you gave me a $5,000 bonus to go sit in Studio A I would still be annoyed about it."

Sonia C. is traveling this week, so we are revisiting one of the fan favorites from the archives. Take a walk down memory lane with us as we revisit the power of listening to your intuitive guides. Are you in the right mindframe to see and hear subtle messages nudging you on a better path? For many of us, we can blow right by these messages if we're too much in a rush, stressed, or not focused on the present. Let's talk about how to be more intuitive and more spiritually open to possibilities. This week's theme is: Interpreting Your Guides Embrace Mindfulness Live Workshop in Billings, Montana, May 2025 Highlights: What your guides are saying to you is always a little deal. [2:08] A guided life means you are available to your guide's messages. [5:51] Your joy guides want to take care of you every step of the way. [8:10] Get out of your ego and take a deep breath! [9:52] Sonia C.'s joy guides create diversions when things are getting hot. [15:18] Turn up the music and dance! [17:58] NPR is one of Sonia T.'s favorite guides. [20:38] Live as though everything is a miracle. [24:15] Chandeliers and books and handymen can all be messages from your guides. [27:33] You can expect a parade from your guides! [31:10] Open yourself up to magic. [35:35] Tool of the Week: Find contentment in doing one joyful thing. [36:00] Question of the Week: What are your tips for stepping into your life's purpose? [38:02] When you're hearing your guides, it's a lot of fun to interact with them. However, when they speak, they are talking in a different language and you can easily miss it! You have to slowly integrate their guidance without making a big deal about it. There's a lot of subtle messages your guides are giving you, and if you're not in the right state of mind, you could be walking past full blown opportunities! What are some subtle ways your guides talk to you? For Sonia T., it can be in the form of a simple t-shirt with a message on it. For Sonia C., it's almost a gut feeling. She opted to take a taxi last minute as opposed to the metro, and it saved her from getting caught in a heavy rainstorm! Our guides are trying to get through to us in some of the craziest ways, but you have to be on the lookout to hear them. Tool of the Week: What makes you content just by doing one joyful? Pay attention where your guides might be helping you once you recognize you're passionate and joyful on that one thing. Question of the Week: What are your tips for stepping into your life's purpose? I know there's bigger things out there for me!
