Join me and my guest Doug Potter as he explains 5 errors Christians make when presenting evidence for the existence of God.

In modern times, the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible has come under attack. Many leading denominations and seminaries now deny the doctrine of biblical inerrancy. Dr. Norman Geisler stated, “History shows the consequences of denying the inerrancy of the Bible, as was the case in Europe...our American theological predecessors…took a strong stand on this doctrine around 1900, opposite to their counterparts in Europe. Look at Christianity in Europe compared with Christianity in America, and you can see the difference.” Listen as Pat and Dr. Doug Potter explain the importance of this doctrine and the need to defend it today.

In 1978, a battle raged around the world as to whether the Bible was inerrant meaning without error. This prompted an international summit, in which 300 leading evangelicals gathered and created the “Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy.” What is the doctrine of inerrancy and why is it so important for Christians to understand and defend? Listen as Pat and Dr. Doug Potter explain the inerrancy of the Bible and its importance.

The Bible, does it have errors? Skeptics and even Christians argue that the Bible is a book written by humans and humans make errors. Therefore, we should expect that the Bible does have errors. However, God is perfect and God does not make errors and the Bible is God's word. So does the Bible have errors or not? Can we trust the Bible in all that is teaches? Join Pat and Dr. Doug Potter as they discuss the doctrine of biblical inerrancy.

A recent Barna survey showed that nearly half of young adults who have some kind of tie to Christianity believe the Church can't answer their questions. How can Christians better prepare for the queries? Dr. Doug Potter, assistant professor of apologetics and theology at Southern Evangelical Seminary, joins me to offer his thoughts. Plus: How can we make and keep relationships that matter? Radio host and author Kim Wier stops by to discuss her book, "The Art of Friendship." That's on Friday's JANET MEFFERD TODAY.
What does it mean to say God is "good"? Could God be evil? Does God ever change His mind? What does it mean to say that God is everywhere present and all-knowing? Taken at face value, the Bible seems to provide contradictory information about the nature of God. Join us as we continue to discuss these issues as they relate to the attributes of God. We will again be joined by Dr. Doug Potter, SES Assistant Professor of Apologetics and Theology.
Mortimer Adler said, “More consequences for thought and action follow the affirmation or denial of God than from answering any other basic question.” The popular Chris Tomlin song, “Indescribable”, poetically articulates how God is beyond our comprehension. So how can we describe an indescribable God? Thoughts about the existence and nature of God are all over the place, even within the evangelical church. How can we know we are thinking well about God and that we are not in fact guilty of idolatry? What are God's attributes, and why does it matter that we get this right? For the next two weeks, we're going to be discussing these issues with my good friend and long-time SES professor, Dr. Doug Potter.

In this episode we discuss the Wild Cards Comic Books, vols 1-4. Show Notes These show notes are short and sweet, like we like our men. Jay does indeed wet the bed in Dead Man's Hand, after his Lovecraftian nightmare. No mention of rubber sheets there, though. Whether he is a habitual bedwetter is still unconfirmed. That milk ducts image isn't real, but they should still use it in the show. You have homework: watch Watchmen on Netflix, and watch The Boys on Amazon Prime. We are planning some episodes for those, maybe just for backers. Yep, our Patreon backers also get early access to all episodes, and special bonus episodes! So please back us at https://www.patreon.com/acesjokerspod THANK YOU Angeleah and Warren for being top tier Puppetmen backers. General Notes The only author consistently credited to these Wild Cards comic books is Lewis Shiner, though any author who created a particular character is credited too. Artists who worked on these issues were: Barry Kitson, Harry Candelario, Keith Williams, Jackson Guice, Marshall Rogers, Fred Fredricks, Lee Weeks, Tom Yeates, Michael Bair, Tim Truman, Larry Stroman, Doug Potter, Mark Nelson, Al Williamson, John Tartaglione, Mickey Ritter, Gray Morrow, Al Ramirez , Paul Mounts, Sam Parsons, Joseph Chiodo and John Van Fleet.
