The 17th season of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour reached the halfway point as the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati hosted the SKUSA SpringNationals over the June 12-14 weekend. The Batavia, Ohio facility welcomed the event for the third straight year, featuring the eight categories competing over the three days of action with rain rolling in on the final day. Rob Howden and David Cole recap the action from Tucson in this episode of the Debrief – presented by Parolin USA. The show begins with the Velocity Racing Paddock Pass before getting into all the details of the weekend with the AiM Sports Race Report. The EKN Trackside Live Race Calendar presented by Rolison Performance Group completes the podcast.
In this episode of The Athletes Compass, Paul Warloski, Dr. Paul Laursen, and Marjaana Rakai explain Athletica's Workout Reserve and the new Systems Engagement feature. Workout Reserve is described as a battery-like metric that shows how close an athlete is to their historical best across different durations, from short sprint efforts to long aerobic performances. The team discusses how athletes can use it in real time through Velocity or Garmin, how negative values can signal breakthrough efforts, and why good historical data is essential. They also explain how Systems Engagement helps athletes and coaches see which physiological systems were stressed in a workout or race, making it easier to reverse engineer training toward the actual demands of an event.Key episode takeawaysWorkout Reserve acts like a “battery” showing how much capacity an athlete has left relative to their recent historical bests.A value near 100% suggests the athlete is fresh relative to that effort, while 0% means they are approaching a known personal limit. Negative values indicate new, uncharted territory.Workout Reserve can be viewed retrospectively in Athletica, live in Velocity sessions, or through the Garmin Workout Reserve data field.Systems Engagement shows which energy systems were stressed during a workout or selected segment, such as neuromuscular sprint, anaerobic, VO2 max, threshold, or aerobic systems.A 30/30 interval session may engage both VO2 max and threshold systems, which matches the expected training adaptations. The tool is most useful when athletes have enough valid historical data, including power or pace tests such as FTP tests, 5K tests, or sport-specific calibration sessions.Workout Reserve and Systems Engagement are based on external load, such as pace or power, not internal load measures like heart rate, lactate, or RPE.Coaches can use Systems Engagement to check whether an athlete actually trained the intended system.Race analysis can help athletes identify which physiological systems were most taxed, then design training to target those demands. Not every session should push Workout Reserve to zero or negative; easy aerobic sessions still have a purpose. How a ProTour cycling coach uses Athletica Workout ReserveWorkout Reserve: A New Way to Understand Performance with Dr. Andrea ZignoliScientific Paper in Sports EngineeringRace Analysis - Volta ValencianaGarmin Connect IQ | HomeTrain and Race with WR on GarminAthletica Workout Reserve | HomePaul Warloski - Simple Endurance CoachingMarjaana Rakai | Nordic Performance Lab

Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are back with a new episode of your go-to darts podcast ahead of the PDC World Cup of Darts. The boys kick off the show with a look ahead to this week in Frankfurt and discuss the chances of the pre-tournament favourites England, and whether the all-star team of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries can bring darts home this summer. Nick Kenny (7:49) joins the show ahead of making his PDC World Cup of Darts debut. The Welsh no. 3 chats about his unexpected call-up to the team after Gerwyn Price made himself unavailable for selection, his memories of representing Wales in the BDO/WDF system, beating Stowe Buntz and Raymond van Barneveld at Ally Pally two years ago to keep his PDC tour card, and the now infamous bounce out Tom Bissell had against him recently on the ProTour. The boys continue their World Cup preview by discussing who are the leading contenders to follow in Northern Ireland's footsteps from last year and be the next country to join the roll of honour. Adam Sevada and Stowe Buntz (37:15) join Burton DeWitt to look ahead to making their PDC World Cup of Darts debuts together for the USA this week. Adam reflects on a breakthrough 2025 campaign which saw him top the CDC rankings with five titles and enjoy a winning debut in the PDC World Darts Championship. Stowe talks about making Ally Pally for a third year in a row, what it's been like playing on the CDC tour with his teenage son Stowe Buntz Jnr, and what it means to be representing the USA in the World Cup. Alex and Burton finish up their World Cup preview by delving into the group stage draw and pick out their 'group of death' and which unseeded nations could make it through to the knockouts. Adam Leek (1:02:23) calls in ahead of making his PDC World Cup of Darts debut for Australia. The new PDC tour card holder reflects on a whirlwind last six months, winning his tour card in his first ever Q-School, the life-changing move from Adelaide to Milton Keynes to pursue his dream of being a professional dart player, signing up with the darts manufacturer Unicorn, and what life has been like so far living in the UK. Welcome in to this episode of Next on the Tee, where golf legends live and your game gets better. This week, I've got three terrific guests that I have the privilege of sharing with you. They share great stories, valuable golf insights, and tips that can help you play better and enjoy the game even more. Leading off is PGA Professional and PGA TOUR Champions player Rob Labritz. Rob takes us inside one of America's most iconic major championship venues, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, and shares his thoughts on what players will face at the upcoming U.S. Open. He also discusses his experiences playing legendary courses around the world, including Old Head Golf Links in Ireland, golf in Australia, and Oakmont Country Club. Plus, Rob reveals a simple yet highly effective putting drill designed to help golfers make more of those pressure-packed 4-to-6-foot putts that can make or break a round. Next, renowned sports psychologist and "The Confidence Doctor" Dr. Bob Winters returns to discuss one of the most overlooked aspects of golf performance: happiness on the golf course. Drawing inspiration from LPGA legend Nancy Lopez, Dr. Bob shares powerful mental game strategies for maintaining a positive attitude, managing frustration, and enjoying the game regardless of your score. If you've ever struggled with keeping your confidence after a bad shot or rough stretch of holes, this segment is really going to help... Rounding out the show is former NHL star and five-time American Century Classic winner Dan Quinn. Dan shares stories from his friendship with hockey legend Mario Lemieux, memories of playing Oakmont, and why Shinnecock Hills remains his favorite golf course. He also discusses the growing Pro Tour, where former professional athletes compete at a high level, and gives his thoughts on the Stanley Cup Finals. Whether you're looking for golf instruction, putting tips, mental game coaching, U.S. Open insights, Champions Tour stories, golf course recommendations, or behind-the-scenes conversations with athletes who love the game, this episode delivers it all. #NextOnTheTee #GolfPodcast #GolfLife #GolfTips #GolfInstruction #USOpen #USOpenGolf #ShinnecockHills #PGATourChampions #RobLabritz #GolfMentalGame #GolfPsychology #DrBobWinters #PuttingTips #GolfPerformance #GolfConfidence #NancyLopez #OakmontCountryClub #OldHeadGolfLinks #DanQuinn #MarioLemieux #CelebrityGolf #AmericanCenturyChampionship #TheProTour #GolfFans #GolfCommunity #GolfNews #GolfTalk #GolfersOfInstagram #GolfAddict

Within 24 hours, he was intubated. Leon reflects on a nervy final day at last year's Q-School, how his life has changed after joining the PDC tour full-time, making his mark on the European Tour in his debut season, and his hopes for the rest of 2026 and his main goal to qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship for the first time. The boys continue their review of the last seven days in darts by giving their thoughts on the weekend's Development Tour action in Milton Keynes, which saw Sebastian Bialecki and Leon Weber pick up a pair of titles each. Denmark's Jonas Graversen (52:25) joins the show after securing a debut in the PDC World Cup of Darts this summer. The former semi-professional footballer explains how he switched from football to darts, making an immediate impact on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour in 2024 and beating Jeffrey de Graaf on his way to a first semi-final, an elbow injury last year that slowed down his progress on the oche, the close race for the Denmark World Cup team this year and earning his spot on the final day before the cut off on Sunday, as well as outlining his aims for the future including a return to Q-School and to one day become a professional. Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are back with a new episode of your go-to darts podcast after the German Darts Grand Prix! The boys start off the show by giving their thoughts on last week's drama in the Premier League between Luke Littler and Gian van Veen during their quarter-final match in Manchester. Recent Players Championship finalist Alan Soutar (7:56) joins the show just a few weeks before running the London Marathon. 'Soots' reflects on the last two years since his maiden PDC title win out in Germany, getting back in the PDC World Championship field, winning a sudden-death leg thriller against Teemu Harju and giving Gian van Veen a scare, where the idea came from to sign up for this year's London Marathon, fitting in the training alongside playing on the ProTour, and his goals for the next two years before retiring from work at the end of 2027. The boys take a look back at the latest European Tour event in Munich, which saw Nathan Aspinall defeat Danny Noppert 8-5 in the final to win his fourth European Tour title. Alex and Burton discuss the champion Aspinall's comments during the tournament about his current enjoyment levels playing darts as well as the runner-up Noppert losing out in a fourth European Tour final. Uganda's first ever PDC World Cup of Darts team Patrick Ocheng and Juma Said (1:00:45) call in from Uganda to look ahead to their big-stage debuts in Germany this summer. The history-making pair reflect on winning the newly-launched African qualifier to earn a spot in the PDC World Cup, becoming just the second nation from Africa to play in the pairs tournament, their own journeys in darts and how they both discovered the game, coaching youth players in Uganda, and their run to winning the World Cup qualifier last month. I spent eight years working on the Pro Tour overseeing the feature matches and final-day video coverage. Those eight years just happened to overlap with the greatest run in professional Magic where Pro Tour legend Kai Budde won seven Pro Tours in five years. This podcast honors Kai, who sadly passed away last week, talking all about that epic run.
In this episode we cover: the passing of Kai Budde, fans comparing everything, NBA Pioneers, a strange Secret Lair product, Pro Tour results, and 4chan back in the news. Welcome to Lords of Limited, the podcast dedicated to getting you better at drafting in Magic: the Gathering. It's armchair draft time! This week, we're reviewing the Lorwyn Eclipsed drafts from Magic's toughest stage: the Pro Tour! We dive into both the day 1 and day 2 feature drafts, and discuss our thoughts on these player's decisions and the different paths available to them. Plus, Ben gives a detailed outline of the Vivid deck and how to draft it (and how it's different from 5 color good stuff!)
SANDCAST: Beach Volleyball with Tri Bourne and Travis Mewhirter
After a longer than expected wait, the 2026 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour schedule has been released in full. Per usual, I'd expect there to be additions in the fall and maybe a few during the summer, a la Newport Beach in 2025. It's a season that will feature, for now, 29 Futures, eight Elites, and seven Challenge events, along with the debut of the ambiguous new Beach World Series coming in November. This podcast covers the full schedule of the Challenges and Elites, with a breakdown and commentary on how 2026 looks. Here is the YouTube video And here is our write-up on the schedule *** Want SANDCAST merch? We got you covered. Check it out here!
