After light-years away from the airwaves, the Order 66 Podcast returns with a new vigor, a new mission, and a set of gaming goals in a galaxy far, far away. GM Chris and GM Phil prepare to launch a series of new episodes all about building a brand new era and setting in the Star Wars universe: The Fractured Republic. This episode sets the stage with a lengthy and deeply passionate discussion of the eras of Star Wars, the themes that game masters and players should think about and embrace for each era, and then sees the hosts bring these themes to task as the first step in defining the timeline and storytelling goals of the new Fractured Republic setting. We also answer some excellent listener questions, and spend a fair bit of time in post-show discussion on everything from The Acolyte teaser to a spoiler-filled review of the Fallout series. It's so good to be back!
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...A small band of nitwits took on the Galactic Empire. This is the story of those intrepid rebels who built a rebellion within the twin sectors of Juvex and Senex.Ellor Sundown had been a prisoner of Rixar Traln, the vile scientist who has been experimenting with the Force; extracting the rare talents from Force users to place them in himself and his Servitors. With the help of a small band of rebels, she has hunted Rixar down across the Senex and Juvex Sectors. She nearly had him at the United Houses summit, but he got away, along with her friend and mentor, Master Dentra. Perhaps most disturbing, she learned that Dentra was not a master at all; he did not even have any powers with the Force. He has now joined with Rixar so he can be given those powers for real, along with the woman he once loved. This is a narrative description of an ongoing campaign of the Star Wars role playing game by Fantasy Flight Games. It's been a long month, but the OGL drama is finally at an end. Wizards of the Coast has capitulated and left intact the original Open Gaming License, as well as updating the 5th edition System Reference Document (basically all the core rules of the game) to the Creative Commons. Check in with Matt and Joe to talk about the future, lessons learned and getting some tips for new games. For us, this is an issue of justice. We just watched a large, wealthy corporation try to squeeze money out of smaller creators or shut them down when they become too big. But the small creators won (this time). We hope this organizing power can inspire us and equip us with tools for organizing in the face of more pressing justice issues, especially in the wake of more and more police violence in the U.S.. As is tradition for the release of a new piece of major Star Wars content, the Order 66 Podcast throws caution to the wind for an off-the-cuff rant and deep dive into The Book of Boba Fett. Welcoming back the familiar voice of Keith Kappel, we dissect The Book of Boba Fett with a ham-fisted, open-mouthed, no-holds-barred discussion. What does it mean to the fandom? How does it continue and build on the Star Wars legacy? How can the themes and set pieces of The Book of Boba Fett make their way onto your game table? So settle in for a warm Bacta Tank soak, and give a knowing nod to Fennec Shand as you ride your rancor off into the sunset, as we get all Dank Ferrik with a dive into The Book of Boba Fett on this episode of YOUR Order 66 Podcast!

This episode, by listener request, we tackle one of the most versatile and potent powers: Ebb / Flow. Not only do we discuss the RP aspects and game mechanics of this often underestimated force option, but we also dive into how both players and GMs can make the best use of Ebb / Flow at their tables. We also return to the dark-shrouded halls of When Good Games Go Bad with a question from a GM dealing with wallflower players, and answer a couple of burning listener questions about competing narrative player actions and about utilizing cross-core careers in conjunction.
