In this episode, host Kevin Weber discusses 2025 NCAA & NFHS rules changes.Kevin has been umpiring since his high school days, however, he's been working consistently in amateur baseball since 2006. His story is the tale of what umpire camps and perseverance can accomplish. Kevin demonstrates that the umpire camp route is an alternative to the professional umpire school path. His road to success has been through self-study, camps, and clinics, most notably Bruce Doane's camps. Kevin has attended the Doane February camp, 2-man advanced camp, and 3-man camp on multiple occasions. He also attended the CBUA 4-Man Invitation Clinic twice. Kevin has worked high school (MHSAA), JUCO (MCCAA), NAIA (WHAC/Crossroads), and NCAA Division I (MAC) (Horizon) (MVC), II (GLIAC), and III (MIAA) contests. He's also worked a Big Ten Conference non-con game in 2023 along with MAC and Horizon League series, and MVC non-con games. In 2022, Kevin worked the GLIAC NCAA DII Conference tournament and two NCAA Division III Regionals. In 2023, Kevin worked the NJCAA Division III, Region 12 tournament, and the MIAA Tournament. Additionally, Kevin has worked the MHSAA State Finals three times (2015, 2019, & 2023). He is always trying to hone his umpire skills to continue moving up the umpiring ladder. Kevin took on an assigner role, assigning varsity MHSAA baseball games for the West Michigan Umpire Association and tournament and travel team games for the Grand Rapids Umpire Alliance. He is happily married, has one daughter, and teaches high school Social Studies and English in Grand Rapids, Michigan. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thehammer/support
Today, we wrap up the series on work-life balance/cohesion by using the analogy of a yoga dancer's pose. Just as finding balance in the pose requires grounding one foot while reaching with the other, allowing opposing forces of stretching and constricting, achieving harmony in life is about being grounded in your values while allowing yourself to be pulled in new directions. It's an ongoing practice of patience, self-compassion, and willingness to adjust as you go along. Embrace the ebb and flow, focus on quality over quantity, and create a life that truly supports your needs and desires through intentional thought and planning. https://www.instagram.com/nicole_bachle/

As people, we love to see progress, but sometimes we don't fully understand the consistent work involved to get the results we seek. Instead of keeping up with our progress, we can let detours set us back. This episode talks about ways to train intentionally so we retain our progress and results. I had a light bulb moment this past week. It's the kind of moment where you're recapping your life to someone and they casually say something that deeply resonates. The moment from this past week came from talking with my physical therapist about my strength training and progress. I'm here to spend quality solo time with you for EP190's Wise Walk as we discover our True Stride. Exercise and training-wise, I was in a great groove. Then, I took time off and it set me back. I am usually very athletic without much effort, so the setback surprised me. Talking to my physical therapist helped me understand why I should prioritize consistent training at this time in my life to retain my progress. On our Wise Walk, we discuss ways to train intentionally so we retain our progress and results. If we don't make use of what we gained so far, it could start slipping away. Come with me as we reflect on these Wise Walk questions: Is there something you're trying to improve, strengthen, or train within yourself and your life? Are you being consistent in trying to improve? Are you getting the results you're seeking? Have you seen yourself have ups and downs on the way to your results? What will you make a priority so you can retain the results that you seek? Of course, it's alright to take a break and rest. These things are important to our Ebb & Flow. The key point is to pick our rhythm back up so our progress doesn't wither away. Find ways to train and retain all the progress you're making. Preserve your efforts with these Wise Walk questions: Is there a container in your life that's been muddied by negativity and can you switch the main energy to goodness? What are you willing to give up or prioritize to make sure you support your highest self? Are you willing to go the distance? What will you prioritize moving forward so you receive the result you seek over time? Are you willing to share your intentions with your support system? Will you use your training and progress so you don't lose it? Join this inspiring community to uncover a new sense of freedom, and be sure to follow and review the True Stride podcast as we continue to exchange our light and Heart Value with each other. In this episode: [00:23] - Welcome to the show! [04:03] - Are you training so you properly maintain your progress? [07:01] - Seeing progress over time. [09:40] - What are you willing to give up or prioritize to make sure you support your highest self? [11:13] - Mary Tess talks about retraining her dogs. Original Air Date: 9/16/2021 - AC23 continues its series highlighting Ebb and Flow while also highlighting National Arts and Education Week. AC23 is joined today by Kaity Harland, ArtFlow Junior Coordinator, and Sherry Wang, this year's high school first-place winner. They speak on the importance of art in youth and arts education.
I think we get caught up with either doing too little or too much with any particular domain in our life. Figure out how to make things, Ebben flow, by never taking any particular activity to seriously, but take each activity seriously. It sounds like a contradiction, but it's about balancing being OK with something not working for a long time, and at the same time being able to sustain and grow this activity that you're working on.
The latest episode of the podcast is with a guest who inspired the core idea for the podcast. Dr. Easkey Britton is an Irish scientist, surfer and writer who specializes in blue health and our relationship with water. She is the author of two amazing books - Saltwater in the Blood and Ebb & Flow, the latter of which was my introduction to Easkey and her work, and how I got to meet Easkey earlier this year at an event at the Finisterre - an amazing water-centric brand if you aren't familiar with it - store in London. In addition to her research on the connection between oceans and human health, Easkey is the co-founder of the Wavemaker Collective, a social impact leadership retreat and has worked on several projects to support women in surfing. And her big wave surfing exploits have been featured in many films including Waveriders. In the episode we focus on our relationship with water. From how the oceans leave a fingerprint on us to kinesthetic empathy and how we can shift from an egocentric point of view to an ecocentric one. We end with a couple of practices to help you create or deepen your relationship with water. Many thanks to Easkey for taking time to chat. She's a true hero of mine and if you haven't heard of her work before I am sure you'll leave this episode feeling the same way. Make sure to pick up a copy of Easkey's book Ebb & Flow, we've got a link to it in the book recommendations at ecosystemmember.com. Amanda is our first guest to discuss an ideological transition. She was raised in a patriarchal movement, and then made the decision to depart from the community system she was raised within to choose something different. She was the first in her family to leave. Thank you, Amanda, for sharing how this decision changed your life. Amanda is a certified life coach with a passion for helping women step into their authentic, feminine power. Raised in the Christian Patriarchy movement, she realized her gift for empowering women while still in her teens, first as a seamstress, then later as a licensed hair stylist, professional ballroom dancer and dance instructor. Now an advocate for mental health, breaking free from toxic relationships, and surviving the patriarchy movement, she continues to pursue her passion for helping women design authentic lives and realize their goals and dreams. She lives in small-town Massachusetts and listens to far too many true crime podcasts. I'm learning a lot about the ebbs and flows in my life — navigating some really complex emotions. It's been a hard couple of months for me, and the word, “Ebb and Flow” keep cycling in my mind. Despite the significant changes I'm experiencing in my life, I know that the waves will not overtake me but are there to teach me some important lessons. Tune in to hear more.
For every give, There is receive. For every push, A pull. For every inhale, An exhale. For every ebb, There is a flow. Mother Nature reminds us, That the rhythm of life, Occurs in cycles. That every wave that touches the shores, Must pull back. That every winter, Eventually turns to spring. That sunny days can be interrupted by storms, And those clouds will eventually be gone, And the sun will shine once again. So surrender to the wise rhythms of nature, To the ebb and flow of your life. JOURNAL PROMPTS: What storms have you been fighting? How can you surrender to the rhythms of your life?
I received this Question recently on my Instagram as part of a Q&A: “Hey beauty, Any advice you can share for having a 6 line in your profile and showing up on social media? I'm a 4/6 and I always feel like that part of me holds me back when I actually REEEEALLY love my community and want to make more connections… but the perfectionist and pressure I put on myself can be way too real ya know?!” Lets dive in - In this Q&A episode I'm sharing all about having a 6 Line Profile + using Social Media.... the permission slips I invite you to explore include: - You are on a life long path to becoming someone that you are proud of becoming - Old soul who has unique, deep wisdom to share - You're here to evolve over the course of your life - You don't necessarily need a large community, - Permission to nurture a trusted circle over time - Let go of perfectionism (imperfectly perfect) - Ebb & Flow energetics with social media LINKS:

This week's guest is soulful artist and author of Ebb & Flow, Deja Rae. Deja is a writer, explorer, and dreamer. Since she was young, her inquisitive mind has led her on a perpetual journey towards enlightenment and self-discovery. Both introspective and analytical, Deja's work focuses on identifying patterns in the world and articulating shared human emotions. With a bachelor's degree in psychology and an ongoing master's degree in international development, Deja hopes to use her education and creative skills to empower others to chase after their most authentic selves What initially drew me to Deja's work (which ironically is also the inspiration behind her next book) was this profound caption on one of her posts: “the capacity to love is based on the capacity to be alone.” Each poem and prose Deja has created is a work of art that echoes the BBB standard of SELF-love, SELF-trust, and SELF-empowerment. I'm so excited for you to discover her magic + wisdom in this episode. In this conversation, Deja + I dive into… How to use your creative channel to process trauma and heartbreak. How Self-Love can expand you + help you express your fullest potential authentically. The levels of fear that can arise from sharing your heart-centered work. Embracing duality, multiple passions, and using them to leverage your most optimal Self-expression. Seeking the fight by staying grounded and comforted in your truth. Using failure to find your successes and evolve. Episode 35 of The Ambient Vault features my special guest Myéline. Myéline is a former punk rock musician turned ambient electronic adventurer who found a fascination with pedals and synths, and as Myéline focuses on less structured, more ambient, emotional music without lyrics. Myéline has been generous to share his album, “Tiny Windows”, a beautiful and contemplative journey with slow, granular, noisey, unstructured music. There is an additional track titled, “Ebb Flow”, which follows the first five from the album. Many thanks to Myéline for sharing music on the podcast! You can follow all things Myéline here:https://linktr.ee/myeline.ldnIf you enjoy the podcast, you can help support future episodes by subscribing to the podcast and leaving a review, following Brian on Instagram @heldbymachines, and subscribing to his YouTube channel.
