Messier 31, the Andromeda Galaxy, is the largest and most-distant object that’s easily visible to the unaided eye. Under dark skies, it looks like a skinny cloud about as wide as the Moon. Right now, it’s about a third of the way up in the northeast at nightfall. M31 is two-and-a-half million light-years away. In other words, the light you see from the galaxy tonight began its journey across the cosmos two-and-a-half million years ago. The galaxy is roughly 150,000 light-years across – bigger than the Milky Way – and may contain a trillion stars. It’s also the hub of its own galactic empire – it’s orbited by more than three dozen smaller galaxies. And a recent study revealed many new details about the satellites. Astronomers spent years looking at them with Hubble Space Telescope. And they supplemented the new observations by going through older ones. They found that most of the stars in the smaller galaxies had been born by about 12 billion years ago – when the universe was about one-tenth of its present age. And star formation had all but stopped by about eight billion years ago. Galaxies that are bigger and farther from M31 gave birth to stars a little longer than those that are small and close. One of the bigger satellites might have rammed through M31 a few million years ago. That stirred things up throughout the empire surrounding big, beautiful M31. More about M31 tomorrow. Created by George Lucas, produced by Lucasfilm, and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the original Star Wars trilogy serves as the second act of the nine-episode Skywalker Saga. George Lucas directed Star Wars, with Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand directing the sequels respectively. Jason and Rob rewind in this special 100th episode to review the space opera trilogy that started it all - Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). The trilogy of films centres on the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the tyrannical Galactic Empire, as well as the hero's journey of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in his quest to become a Jedi under the tutelage of exiled Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) and Yoda (Frank Oz). Luke joins forces with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), and the Rebel Alliance in facing the Empire and the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader (David Prowse / James Earl Jones).

There was no caption on the picture, which showed the world-destroying Star Wars space station rising over an Earth-like planet, but his audience understood the context. In fewer than 24 hours, OpenAI would release an AI model intended to wipe out all the rest.2.That model, GPT-5, launched earlier today with all the requisite fanfare. In anannouncement video, Altman said that the product will serve as a “legitimate Ph.D.-level expert in anything—any area you need, on demand—that can help you with whatever your goals are.” He added that “anyone, pretty soon, will be able to do more than anyone in history could.” In more concrete terms, GPT-5 is an upgrade to the ChatGPT interface you're likely already familiar with: a model that's now a bit better at writing, coding, math and science problems, and the like.知识点:Death Star n. /ˈdɛθ stɑː/A fictional massive space station and superweapon in the Star Wars universe capable of destroying entire planets. 星球大战系列中的虚构巨大太空站和超级武器,能摧毁整颗行星。• The Death Star was the ultimate weapon used by the Galactic Empire to instill fear. 死星是银河帝国用来制造恐惧的终极武器。• Fans of Star Wars often recognize the Death Star by its distinctive spherical shape.
This episode of Star Warsologies is our San Diego Comic-Con 2025 panel entitled "Star Wars Andor - From Resistance to Rebellion" and features Dr. Drea Letamendi, Desmond Hassing, Jendia Gammon, Robert Dagnall, and Dr. Catherine Hicks as panelists, moderated by podcast co-host James Floyd. Panel description: Fighting the tyranny of the Galactic Empire is dangerous work, whether in the halls of power on Coruscant or in the dark recesses of the Outer Rim. Panelists will dive deep into the popular show Star Wars: Andor, especially season 2, and examine themes of resisting authoritarianism and aspects of outright rebellion. How do the choices made by Cassian Andor, Mon Mothma, and Luthen Rael make the galaxy more free but also more perilous? Psychologists Drea Letamendi (Lattes with Leia, The Arkham Sessions, Aliens Expanded) and Catherine Hicks will take you into the minds of Imperial loyalists like Dedra Meero and insurgent fighters like Saw Gerrera. Also charging into the fray will be speculative fiction author Jendia Gammon (Atacama, Doomflower, The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern), San Diego State rhetoric and writing instructor Robert Dagnall, and American Indian studies professor Desmond Hassing. Hosted by James Floyd (Star Wars author, Star Wars Insider regular contributor, Star Warsologies podcast co-host). Fight the Empire! Editor - Yan Miles ACE, BFE Andor editor Yan Miles partly attributes the decision not to extensively use the Stagecraft "volume" technology as the reason why his series has a distinctly different look and feel to other shows under the Star Wars banner. Instead, Andor leans into real-world environments, capturing the grit and authenticity that Yan believes enhances the narrative. Another significant factor in that differentiation is Tony Gilroy's writing, where the narrative complexity lies. Despite knowing the ultimate fate of characters like Cassian Andor, the series thrives on the uncertainty surrounding minor characters and their arcs. It's in these uncharted territories that the tension in Andor finds its heartbeat. Season 2 of Andor continues the chronicling of Cassian Andor's journey as he becomes a key figure in the burgeoning Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. The season covers the four years leading up to the events of Rogue One, with each arc spanning a year. When you're outgunned, under-resourced, and facing giants, success takes more than speed. It takes teamwork, message discipline, and relentless coordination. That's how the Rebel Alliance defeats the Galactic Empire, and it's how great B2B marketing teams win in the real world. In this episode, we unpack marketing lessons from the Star Wars saga with special guest Eric Herzog, CMO at Infinidat.Together, we explore what B2B marketers can learn from thinking like a startup, aligning cross-functional teams, and building content strategies that deliver across every touchpoint.About our guest, Eric HerzogEric Herzog is the Chief Marketing Officer at Infinidat. Prior to joining Infinidat, Herzog was CMO and VP of Global Storage Channels at IBM Storage Solutions. His executive leadership experience also includes: CMO and Senior VP of Alliances for all-flash storage provider Violin Memory, and Senior Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing for EMC's Enterprise & Mid-range Systems Division. What B2B Companies Can Learn From Star Wars:Business is a team sport. Great marketing doesn't happen in silos. Whether you're a startup or a global enterprise, success depends on alignment across every function. Eric says, “In marketing, having all kinds of people running around with different functions is wrong. They all need to work together in what I call a completely vertically integrated marketing.” Your message, your content, your sales strategy. it all has to move as one.Message discipline wins hearts and minds. When you can't outspend the competition, out-message them. A clear, consistent story can be your greatest weapon. “You need to win the hearts of the minds of your customers, and your prospects, and your channel, and your sales team,” Eric says. If your message isn't aligned, neither is your market.Think like a startup (no matter your size). Speed, focus, and adaptability aren't just startup traits; they're must-haves for any marketing team. Eric explains, “ The most successful big companies in overall functions, as well as in their marketing function, try to act like a startup.” Whether you're leading a lean team or navigating a Fortune 500 org, it's that startup mindset that helps you outmaneuver slower, more bureaucratic competitors.Quote“Business is a team sport, and a subteam of marketing as part of the business is a team sport too. If you don't work as a team, the empire will crush you. You need to be like the Rebel Alliance and all work together.”Time Stamps[0:55] Meet Eric Herzog, CMO at Infinidat[01:08] Why Star Wars?[01:54] Role of CMO at Infinidat[03:03] Origins of Star Wars[08:52] B2B Marketing Takeaways from Star Wars[30:04] Infinidat's Content Strategy[33:39] Final Thoughts and TakeawaysLinksConnect with Eric on LinkedInLearn more about InfinidatAbout Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company. He was eventually promoted to the rank of master chief gunnery officer and transferred to the Death Star. Tenn was ecstatic about this at first; he was a staunch supporter of the Empire who reveled in the opportunity to wield such a powerful weapon. He did not expect it to actually be used against inhabited planets. He assumed that the Empire only built it as a fear tactic, which was partially true, but Grand Moff Tarkin believed that the greatest way to inspire fear was to make an example of Alderaan. As soon as Tenn fired the superlaser, he was wracked with guilt and suffered a mental breakdown. With the pull of a lever, he had wiped out two billion lives.
Welcome to a new podcast series from the Holmes Movies Podcast titled: Fascism On Film! Each episode of this series, the Holmes Brothers look and review a film that has to do with fascism. During the episodes, the brothers look and see how the aspects and portrayal of fascism shown in the film relate to current and/or past events. On the first Fascism On Film episode Anders & Adam Holmes head back to a galaxy, far, far away to discuss Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and its Disney + prequel series Andor. Rogue One was released in 2016 and was a prequel to a New Hope. It showed how the Rebel Alliance stole the plans for the Death Star, which leads into the events of Star Wars: A New Hope. It stars an all star cast including Diego Luna who plays Cassian Andor. He would get his own series in the form of Andor which is set five years before the events of Rogue One. It looks at the origin story of Cassian and it shows what makes him the man we see in Rogue One. Andor also looks at the machinations and inner workings of the Galactic Empire and the beginnings and formation of the Rebel Alliance. It also has an all star cast which includes Stellan Skarsgård. Tony Gilroy who co-wrote Rogue One and oversaw reshoots on that film was the head writer and showrunner on Andor. Early on, he wrote what are called the Empire novels which are prequels to the rise of Trantor. Then he decided to tie his Robot series into his Foundation series. We break down issue 51: Resurrection of Evil from June 1981! There is a new super weapon being constructed called the Tarkin. Our heroes are sent to bring down this technological terror, and at the same time there is a plot within the Empire to kill Darth Vader! In the past, Marvel has tied-in Kenner action figures and playsets. Is that what they are doing here with the Scout Walker vehicle? Or was it because they wanted to feature the cool 2-legged walker seen in The Empire Strikes Back for 2 seconds. Today in Star Wars History Disney+ streams the episode, “Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa” from The Book of Boba Fett which Guest stars Danny Trejo as the Rancor Keeper. (Does Danny Trejo make an appearance in this episode's Marvel comic?) In “The Streets of Mos Espa” the Hutt Twins come to Boba Fett's palace and offer their apologies for sending Black Krrsantan to kill him. This Book of Boba Fett episode also features the BEST Behind the scenes Easter Egg ever!
