Hello to you listening in Hamburg, Germany!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. We are living in a time of historic upheaval. But what if this currently confusing, chaotic, confounding, cultural churn is stumbling toward change that reveals the hidden roots of social injustice for what they are so that we can reconfigure for good? How easily the safeguards can be leaped. And they have been. We can clutch our pearls and bemoan the times we live in; or, we can invite our feelings of hopelessness to give way to action, to repair, restore, and renew out of the ashes of the old ways. We are responsible for making change because we're the only “sentient force” that can.Question: What one small grand gesture are you committed to take on behalf of what you love and care for? These words from the Irish poet Seamus Heaney may motivate and sustain you wherever your feet touch the ground, whatever progress you are intent on making today. “History says, Don't hopeOn this side of the grave...But then, once in a lifetimeThe longed-for tidal waveOf justice can rise upAnd hope and history rhyme.” [“The Cure at Troy” Seamus Heaney]BONUS: Seamus Heaney reads his poem, The Cure at TroyThe Cure at Troy (full text)"Human beings sufferThey torture one another,They get hurt and get hard.No poem or play or songCan fully right a wrongInflicted and endured. The innocent in gaolsBeat on their bars together.A hunger-striker's fatherStands in the graveyard dumb. The police widow in veilsFaints at the funeral home. History says, Don't hopeOn this side of the grave…But then, once in a lifetimeThe longed-for tidal waveOf justice can rise up,And hope and history rhyme. So hope for a great sea-changeOn the far side of revenge.Believe that a further shoreIs reachable from here.Believe in miraclesAnd cures and healing wells. Call miracle self-healing:The utter, self-revealingDouble-take of feeling. If there's fire on the mountainOr lightning and stormAnd a god speaks from the sky That means someone is hearingThe outcry and the birth-cryOf new life at its term.It means once in a lifetimeThat justice can rise upAnd hope and history rhyme. In October 2018, Diverse Voices Book Review host Hopeton Hay interviewed Kyle Longley, author of LBJ's 1968: Power, Politics, and the Presidency in America's Year of Upheaval. 1968 was an unprecedented year in terms of upheaval on numerous scales: political, military, economic, social, cultural. In the United States, perhaps no one was more undone by the events of 1968 than President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Kyle Longley is a Professor of History at Chapman University and the director of the M.A. in War and Society program. He served as the director of the LBJ Presidential Library from 2018 to 2019 before happily returning to academia.

In this edition of The World This Week: China's military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II sees President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un side by side; former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro is back in court on charges of trying to violently overturn the 2022 election result; and Germany's former chancellor Angela Merkel reflects on her country's policies during the 2015 migrant crisis.
What happens when our president operates from his own alternative reality? A growing Axis of Upheaval against us? Elizabeth Shackelford is back to clarify the moment.
The U.S. is suffering from similar conditions as Japan was during WWII. Citizens have been all but cut off from the rest of the world and are told daily they are number one and could never lose anything. Meanwhile, the world builds resistance and alliances, if not over western imperialism, then over its death pact with Israel. Power is shifting eastward and even U.S. sentiment on Israel is waining, conditions that are ripe for a global war. Alex Karp of Palantir is ready for this war, and predicts the Chinese and Russians will fight the Americans. The ‘axis of upheaval' meeting in China this week, involving Russia and more than a dozen other countries, signaled to the world that an eastern alliance is taking a stand. But, see, the west pushed Putin away and in many ways created China in the same way they propped up the Soviet Union and allowed it to flourish. China may manufacture our bandages and bullets, but we exercise considerable power in other ways that indicate a global war will not be anything we can conceive of and probably won't last very long. Israel plays an oversized role in this too, because guess who gives China U.S. military secrets and technology that undoubtedly was on display at the military parade earlier this week? And any resistance to this emerging New World Order has been branded Nazi and Hitler, at least according to the Atlantic journalist named Rosenberg, and according to the ADL. Looking deeper into the issue we find the Russians and Chinese seeking life extension and super soldiers, just like the Americans and other countries. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. In this episode: China's military parade and its guests of honour the US media has dubbed ‘the Axis of Upheaval', protesters mobilise across Indonesia as parliamentary allowances trigger mass unrest. Plus, Thailand faces yet another political crisis while environmental concerns escalate across the border in Myanmar. And the holographic warning to all would-be criminals.
China's biggest ever military parade boasted sophisticated new weapons, thousands of goose-stepping troops, and a guest list designed to put the West on notice. The footage of Chinese President Xi Jinping walking in between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in particular was a clear message to the US, Europe and its democratic allies: Beijing now officially heads up a new world order of authoritarian states. Venetia is joined by former Russia correspondent Roland Oliphant and former China correspondent Sophia Yan to explain everything you need to know about the new weapons unveiled, the leaders who were and weren't there, and what it means for the West.Read Sophia's exclusive drone investigation: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/09/03/how-china-is-secretly-arming-russia/Read Sophia's analysis: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/09/03/china-parade-xi-putin-kim/Listen to our mini series on the rise of China's military: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/08/08/battle-lines-podcast-inside-the-rise-of-chinas-military/https://linktr.ee/BattleLinesContact us with feedback or ideas:battlelines@telegraph.co.uk @venetiarainey@RolandOliphant Hosted on Acast. Matt shares data-driven insights from his groundbreaking research, including the "experience paradox," which reveals why so many entry-level jobs now demand prior experience, and what that means for recent college graduates. The conversation delves into the accelerating pace of skill obsolescence, the rise of AI, and how these forces are creating a critical disconnect between what employers need and what education provides. Matt introduces the concept of the "Expertise Upheaval," offering a look at how AI is transforming careers and what skills will make workers more valuable with AI, not just more efficient. He also makes a compelling case for greater accountability in education, using data to show which credentials and programs actually lead to a real return on investment. This episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking to understand the data, trends, and solutions that will shape the workforce of tomorrow.Key Takeaways from this Episode:The Experience Paradox: A deep dive into the data showing that most entry-level jobs now require several years of experience, and the implications for hiring and education. The Pace of Change: Why skills are becoming obsolete faster than ever, and how this is impacting career trajectories and the need for lifelong learning. The "Expertise Upheaval": An exploration of how AI is not just about automation, but about a more profound shift in the skills required to be an expert in any given field.Education-to-Workforce Accountability: How data can be used to hold colleges and credential providers accountable, ensuring that programs lead to real-world outcomes and economic mobility.A New Kind of Workforce: Matt discusses the shift from a "schooled society" to a "learning society," and how we must prepare for a future where learning is a continuous, lifelong process.About Our Guest:Matt Sigelman is the CEO of the Burning Glass Institute, a fully independent, nonprofit research center that works at the intersection of work and learning. Prior to the Institute, he spent 20 years building a private sector data provider (now called Lightcast). In Episode 28 of Geopolitics with Ghost, the global chessboard shifts again as Ghost breaks down the latest developments in Africa and their implications for BRICS, Western hegemony, and the unraveling global order. He explores the strategic alignment of these countries with BRICS ideals, resource sovereignty, decentralized development, and economic autonomy. The episode also examines the ripple effects of Israel's judicial overhaul, Hungary's quiet rise in Eastern Europe, and the growing irrelevance of Western NGOs and media. It's a wide-angle lens on the death throes of unipolar dominance and the messy, hopeful birth of a new global balance.

Randall Carlson is known for his interdisciplinary work as a geomythologist, architectural designer, and researcher into the connections between ancient mysteries and modern science. He is particularly recognized for his exploration of sacred geometry, catastrophism, and the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis. He is also known for his work on ancient civilizations, climate change, and the potential for cosmic impacts to have shaped Earth's history. Here's a more detailed breakdown:Geomythology and Catastrophism:Carlson is known for his work integrating geological and mythological evidence to suggest that Earth's history has been punctuated by large-scale, sudden catastrophic events, rather than solely gradual change. He is a proponent of the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, which proposes that a comet or asteroid impact during the Younger Dryas period (roughly 12,800 years ago) caused significant environmental changes. Sacred Geometry and Ancient Mysteries:Carlson explores the patterns and proportions found in sacred geometry and their potential connections to ancient civilizations and their architecture. He believes that these patterns hold clues to understanding the universe and the nature of reality. Research and Public Outreach:Carlson has organized numerous expeditions to document evidence of past catastrophic events and has presented his findings through lectures, classes, and multimedia programs. He has also been featured in documentaries, podcasts, and books, including Graham Hancock's "Magicians of the Gods". He is also a co-host of the Kosmographia podcast. Architectural Design:Carlson is a master builder and architectural designer, and he applies his understanding of sacred geometry to his design work. He is also a Freemason, which he says informs his understanding of ancient symbolism and architecture. Focus on Cycles and Patterns:A core theme in Carlson's work is the idea that Earth and its civilizations are subject to cycles and patterns of change, influenced by cosmic events and other factors. https://randallcarlson.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/earth-ancients--2790919/support.
Has any movement collapsed more completely than MAGA? In this episode of Colonial Outcasts, we examine Trump's stunning reversal on every key populist promise: escalation in Ukraine, saber-rattling toward Iran, backing Israel-first policy, and promoting a ballooning Pentagon budget. With bipartisan support for more war and sanctions, Trump now openly threatens Russia with ultimatums and long-range strikes—an aggressive pivot cheered on by neocons like Lindsey Graham and think tanks like the Atlantic Council. We break down the fantasy of secondary sanctions, the economic impossibility of isolating Russia, and how Trump's foreign policy is now indistinguishable from the unipolar imperial doctrine of his predecessors. From NATO expansion to the looming confrontation in Lebanon, we connect the dots between the collapsing facade of MAGA and the emerging Axis of Upheaval—a global order driven by elite panic and escalating militarism. We also take a critical look at the Atlantic Council and Chatham House as mouthpieces for the military-intelligence elite shaping this next phase of global conflict.

In this episode, AdTechGod interviews James Rosewell, co-founder of Movement for an Open Web, discussing the evolution of the open web, the implications of the Privacy Sandbox, the importance of web browsers, and the future of regulation in the digital advertising landscape. They explore the impact of political changes on antitrust initiatives and the need for market certainty, while also providing resources for listeners to stay informed about these developments. Takeaways James Rosewell founded Movement for an Open Web to address concerns about the Privacy Sandbox. The open web must offer advertisers a good return on investment and protect content rights. Privacy Sandbox can now compete on its merits without coercion from Google. Web browsers play a crucial role in the digital advertising ecosystem. Regulation is needed to ensure fair competition in the browser market. Political changes are influencing antitrust motivations in the US. From WPP's dramatic rebrand and layoffs to the Meta antitrust trial's conclusion and fresh Nielsen numbers, the episode weaves together the mounting pressure of rapid technological change and its human cost. Key Discussion Points: WPP rebrands Group M as “WPP Media” under an AI-first strategy, but the move triggers confusion and layoffs impacting up to 45% of staff. The broader advertising industry is facing an AI reckoning, as companies move faster than ever with minimal oversight or infrastructure for displaced workers. Meta's antitrust trial wraps, with the FTC accusing the company of a “buy or bury” strategy—highlighting internal emails and challenging definitions of competition. Despite social media's waning ability to foster community, creator marketing continues to boom—but may need reevaluation for long-term brand building. Nielsen's April report shows streaming now holds 44% of total TV usage, with ad-supported content making up 72% of viewership; Grey's Anatomy tops the charts. Learn more about your ad choices. She resides in the country with her husband, four spirited children, and animal menagerie. Show Summary: Did you go to college and experience a complete change in your faith? Are you preparing to send a beloved child or children to college? During this God Hears Her conversation, guest Dr. Carolyn Weber relives her time of choosing faith at Oxford University while she prepares to send her daughter off to college. Join hosts Eryn Eddy Adkins and Vivian Mabuni as they dig into Dr. Carolyn's faith and her current feelings about sending her daughter off. Notes and Quotes: “We have to doubt as wisely as we have to believe.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber “What I was drawn to in some ways with the Christian faith was that it was not fair-weather. There wasn't a sense of only loving people when you're in the mood. Love was a verb and a decision. There isn't a grace that can be earned.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber “[On the image of Christians] It's not a personality; it's just a glow of a surrendered life.” –Vivian Mabuni “There is so much messaging about self-worth and women, objectifying women and them not having a voice—which is completely the opposite of how Jesus treated women in the Bible, and that is all the more radical given the timeframe.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber “Take and eat—not take and think—take and eat in remembrance of me. Put your body back together that''s been pulled apart by so many things, remember in me and undo the first lie in the garden that you're not good enough.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber “There's something deeper [with fellowship] because you know that you can go to them with repentance, truth, pain, sorrow, joy, questions, and they are called to walk with you and you with them.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber “You are a daughter of the King. He is the lifter of your head and your shield. There are going to be times in life when you think you have to follow someone, but you have to follow Jesus.” —Dr. Carolyn Weber Verses: Women being the first to witness the resurrection: Luke 24:1-12 The woman at the well: John 4 Eve in the garden (the lie of not being good enough): Genesis 3 Related Episodes: GHH Ep 26 – Big Decisions and Crossroads: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/big-decisions-and-crossroads/ GHH Ep 66 – Dreams and Fears with Jade Gustafson: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/dreams-and-fears/ GHH Ep 147 – Mentoring the Next Generation with Ericka Porter: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/mentoring-the-next-generation/ GHH Ep 157 – Upheaval and Transition with Katherine Catlett: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/upheaval-and-transition/ Links: Dr. Carolyn's Book, Surprised By Oxford: https://www.amazon.com/Surprised-Oxford-Memoir-Carolyn-Weber/dp/084992183X Dr. Carolyn's website: https://www.carolynweber.com/about/ God Hears Her website: https://godhearsher.org/ Watch the Video Podcast Here: https://www.youtube.com/@GodHearsHerODBM God Hears Her email sign-up: https://www.godhearsher.org/sign-upsfmc Subscribe on iTunes! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/god-hears-her-podcast/id1511046507?utm_source=applemusic&utm_medium=godhearsher&utm_campaign=podcast Elisa's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elisamorganauthor/ Eryn's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eryneddy/ Vivian's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vivmabuni/ Our Daily Bread Ministries website: https://www.odbm.org/
